Cool start..... all downhill from there.... We go around the front and there are a bunch of dudes chain-smoking... Which, I get it, people smoke its a free country... but right in front of a place where people are trying to eat?? kinda yuck. ANYWAYS We decide to ignore the yuck because maybe inside is different?! Go to open the door and all the glass is broken... so the cigarette smoke is wafting INTO the cafe which is FILLED WITH MEN WATCHING A HOCKEY GAME (like its an Italian bar at least soccer come on). And ok maybe thats on me .. cafe sportivo translates to sports bar but a) it was PACKED and b) NO ONE MOVED so my mom and i couldn't reach the bar to order a drink or food even if we wanted to!!! We STILL Try to give it a chance and shove our way past all the giant men to look at the food. There was like one muffin and one croissant. At that point with nowhere to even stand and no one even checking in with us to see if we wanted we left. My mom said "che horrore" which i don't think you need a translator to understand. Soooooooooo maybe the cafe has good cappuccini and cornetti but I'll never know cause the vibes were NOT IT. In the future if you're doing a sports event gathering maybe put a sign outside?

I tried a few pastries and loved how buttery, soft, and flavorful they were. If you're a bakery lover, this part alone makes the visit worthwhile. The desserts and pastries feel a bit upscale, and you can expect about a 15-20% price bump compared to similar cafés. The space itself is small, and it's really more of a grab‑and‑go spot than a place to sit and relax. There's no free tap water, so you're required to purchase bottled drinks, which may be a downside for some. The service was somewhat slow, though the staff was attentive once they engaged. However, the overall vibe wasn't very welcoming. A few long‑time customers seemed frustrated and even got up to complain after being ignored for a while, which was noticeable. Yummy pastries. Didn't see any stellar food. Our food was just average. We felt Café Brie on Atlantic had better food, but Chez has great pastries. Because of the limited seating, lack of water, and the uneven service experience, I'm not sure I'd choose to dine in. The drive‑thru or takeout might be the better option for enjoying their fresh baked goods without the wait.

No way this stuff wasn't pre-made a while ago. Oh yeah, part of a banana and one strawberry. Despite what the waiter said, I could tell everything was pre-made. It's about the same quality as the free "continental breakfast" most cheap hotels offer except at the hotel it's still warm and you get refills on coffee and the waffle is freshly made and hot enough to melt butter. No free refills on coffee here unless you buy their "pour over," and then you get one small refill. The strainer for the coffee was stained and filthy when it was brought out, so they're not using fresh ones or even cleaning thoroughly between uses. GF had a meatless omelet and a smoothie. Her omelet was hot so obviously it was made fresh unlike mine. I told the waiter my food was cold and he swore he saw them "take it out of the oven," but nothing I ordered would be cooked in any over other than a microwave oven. Total bill for two: $60+. This was with a 30% discount on my plate for my food being served cold. Honestly you'll have a better, fresher meal at IHOP or Waffle House or Denny's, for a fraction of the price and you'll get coffee refills.

The buttery, flaky pastry with the salty prosciutto and sweet fig spread was one of those bites that makes you stop talking for a second just to appreciate it.
