I recently attended a wedding at Oak & Ember, and wow -- what a beautiful day to celebrate! I've been to this space before under a different name, and it's definitely been given a fresh, polished vibe. The ceremony was outside under a covered area -- charming and airy -- and then we moved inside for lunch. The buffet was impressive: fresh sushi, perfectly cooked salmon, and some delicious pasta options. The drinks were flowing, which is always a good sign, and the overall energy was festive and fun. Heads up: the entrance is on the side, so don't wander around like I did trying to figure it out! Also, there's only one bathroom per gender, which can be tricky for a bigger crowd. All in all, Oak & Ember nails the combination of beautiful space, solid food, and a lively vibe. Perfect spot for a wedding or any special occasion -- just pray for good weather if you want that outdoor magic! An absolutely beautiful ambiance, with a lovely indoor and outdoor seating area. I was in love with the respectable waitstaff and personal. The service and overall look of the restaurant was beautiful. I was only disappointed by what we had ordered. The "Pizzetta di Carne" was $30; perhaps a bit too expensive for me personally, but good food can always be like that nowadays. It was surprisingly smaller than expected, but good for 2 people, as it said on the menu. Drizzled with garlic aioli made it a bit more appealing, though the combination of the strong BBQ sauce flavor mixed a long with it was a bit too much strength at once. The dough was too soft for a pizza dough; it had more of a fresh doughnut texture, which didn't compliment the strong BBQ sauce as much as hoped to be. My suggestion is to add a bit of fresh arugula (and or thinly sliced radish) to break down some of the greasiness of the meat and sauce and brighten up the presentation as well. For the money, this may very well be the worst restaurant in Boca. I arrived for my 5:30 reservation to an almost empty dining room. Only two other tables seated. It still took them nearly 5 minutes to greet and seat us. I immediately put in an order off the kid's menu, a chicken schnitzel and French fries, and asked for that to be brought out as soon as it was ready. That was around 5:40pm. Keep in mind there's no complimentary bread or anything else. About 10 minutes later, I ordered the Baja steak salad. What showed up, a good 10 minutes before the schnitzel, was 4 or 5 cubes of steak mixed with a blend of guacamole and some sort of "crema" that our server couldn't even tell us what it was made of. And along with those little cubes was a strip of shoe leather. One side was completely hammered beyond recognition. Finally, almost 45 minutes and 3 follow ups after ordering the expedited kid's meal, the schnitzel arrived. Once again, absolutely hammered and tough to the touch. I couldn't even get my toddler to eat it or the fries with ketchup. And ketchup fixes everything for toddlers. At that point, I had to leave to find my kid some food. The rest of my party had no choice but to stay behind and await their fates. It had been an hour with no food, but I expect that is better than what they might eventually get. The prices are absurd, and somehow the food and service are truly dreadful. There might not be a worse restaurant at this price point in all of South Florida. Steer clear. Go literally anywhere else. Or just go on a hunger strike. This place is *bad*. read more

12/21/21 Came here to celebrate my Sister in Laws birthday. Loved the decor.I had heard great things and thought this would be a fabulous meal. Sadly it was not. Our server was friendly but she had only been working there for a few days and was not familiar with the menu. We ordered a bunch of appetizers to share: Brussels sprouts: tasty and crispy but very greasy. Liver: was absolutely spoiled. Beef Tartare: not spoiled but lacked seasoning, Chicken and Waffles: The waffles were black/burnt on the bottom. The chicken was not fresh. For entrees we tried: Ribeye steak: edible but not very good. Fingerling potatoes: Undercooked. Chicken: tasted old. Could not eat more than 1 bite. Duck breast: was good. Skirt Steak: was well marinated but looked like and had the texture of rubber. Sea Bass: small portion, served cold. We asked to speak with the manager. We told him about our experience. He was very apologetic. Right before he brought the chef to speak with us he also brought out 6 complimentary desserts. They were beautiful and delicious. The chef arrived just then so he got to take advantage of the dessert distraction. He simply apologized and, without explanation, asked us to give the restaurant another try. I had never heard of this place, but knew the shopping center where it is. When you go in, make an immediate right turn, go to the end, and make a left. There is very poor signage which needs to be improved. Now, the good news. The place is beautiful and has an excellent deck. The food was very good and the service was extremely attentive. I was there for a company party. We started off with some salad and an app that was outstanding. We had a choice between the beef, which I had (excellent) and the chicken (people told me it was excellent). Dessert was a fruit sorbet which was also very good. read more

Delicious Meal. We started with the Short Rib Gnocchi, and the Soup Duet ( Butternut Squash and Cauliflower). Both appetizers were great with clean dishes being sent back to kitchen. Friendly service, mediocre food, no decor and poor acoustics. Fine dining is a pleasure, but this was not fine dining. The mushroom ravioli was overcooked, with a mealy filing that lacked flavor. The Buerre Blanc sauce seemed to be made of margarine and salt. Oddly, a dried piece of sage was placed on the plate, but the sauce was almost tasteless. My mother had the Caesar Salad.: an enormous plate of romaine, drenched in dressing that was overly sweet and oily. The croutons were neither crispy nor seasoned. My husband enjoyed his chicken dish. Conversation was difficult, as the acoustics in the dining room were poor. No paintings or pictures on the wall, no fine linens and an out-of-order bathroom added to the drab and severe atmosphere. But inside decor was sleek, beautiful modern steak house. outstanding food, beautifully presented Very professional old school service; the servers were very available and responsive without becoming part of our party's conversation, well trained and knowledgeable. Food was outstanding, steaks perfectly done to requested temp, beautifully presented. Creative, fun, and tasty appetizers too. Top quality kosher dining is pricey like here but if you're willing to indulge once in a while or celebrate a special occasion, this is the top kosher restaurant in Boca Raton in my opinion. Absolutely amazing! The service was impeccable from Dan our waiter and the staff. from the moment we arrived we felt very special. Chef Smiley prepared nothing short of a perfect dining experience! We started with The delicious seared tuna appetizer , Brussels sprouts were out of this world. We shared the perfectly seared Ribeye and had that with Broccolini and hand cut fries and carrots any other delicious surprises from the kitchen. Just ate at O&E for the fifth time This time we tried two new (to us) appetizers -- liver mousse and seared tuna Both were excellent. Entrees were hanger steak and mushroom ravioli. The steak was cooked perfectly (a rarity for kosher restaurants and the ravioli was extraordinary, served with a sage sauce garnished with trumpet mushrooms. Good food but this restaurant which has been around for almost a year needs work. Three items we wanted as well as one wine were not available. A steak house with no bone-in steak available? Come on, in this day of laser printers the menu and wine list can be updated daily. The wine list was some what limited. Dessert was good but not amazing, it may have been better if there was coffee.
