Sangria
Rachel S.

Came here with my family to celebrate my birthday. We ordered red sangria, a bunch of appetizers and a ribeye steak. My niece loved her sloppy Joe sliders. My sister loved her Boca salad. My brother-in-law had the Mediterranean platter with falafel which was very tasty. (I tried some)My brother had the wings with mango barbecue sauce. He enjoyed it very much. My sister-in-law I had the Tony fries. I tasted them. Very filling and delicious. Lots of guacamole, shredded beef, and other flavors. My ribeye steak was huge and well prepared. I also enjoyed the roasted potatoes and vegetables that it was served with. For dessert I had apple pie à la mode with a birthday sparkler. Tasty and fun. The service was on point and our water glasses were constantly refilled. The staff here really make you feel like a welcome guest.

The weekend buffet price was fairly reasonable for $20.95. There is a huge amount of sushi flavors, seafood, salad, soup, hibachi, Asian cuisine, fruit, and dessert options. Some of my favorites were the California sushi roll, chicken broccoli, and pastries. I enjoyed everything and it was plentiful. The staff took care of us and refilled our drinks as needed. They removed the plates as necessary and checked on us to make sure we were happy with everything. The waiter informed us there was gratuity added on our bill because of the size of our group. Most restaurants wouldn't inform the customers about that and a lot of people would add an additional tip by mistake without thinking about it. All of us had a great time for lunch!

Sushi by Bou in East Boca is soooo darn good. Yes, it's pricey. Yes, it's omakase only. And yes,…read moreit's worth it. Small, intimate space (in the old AlleyCat location), but done right... cozy without feeling cramped. The chefs were fantastic and the fish was top tier. The uni was unforgettable. The tuna was incredible, as expected. I'm not big on raw shrimp, so I asked them to torch it and they nailed it. Exactly what I wanted. Only thing I'd skip is the Big Mac... a little too much going on in one bite. Perfect date spot and honestly hard to compare to anything else in Boca. Bonus: easy parking at Royal Palm just south of Mizner. Expensive, but memorable.

This is good value for what you pay. The place is really small and when you first walk in there is a general seating, waiting area while you wait for others to finish and then to turn over the tables. After they are ready for you they will seat you at the bar and they will serve you the food. I will agree with a lot of the other reviews. I wish it was a little more roomy. You are elbow to elbow like on a spirit flight. I think removing one seat from the bar would give a lot of room for the others. Which is kind of poor design because the waiting area is quite large compared to the bar too where everyone is served. Sushi by bou has a pre set menu so it's technically not true omakase since it means "I leave it to you," the chef. But everyone gets the same thing so it's not really different if you go again. With all of that said, the food is still great. The quality of sushi is high and the cuts are solid. Service is great because they are right in front of you so you can just ask if you need something. Seems like there are more workers than customers really. Would definitely go again if I wanted some good sushi.

Maybe it's quieter outside but those tables are right next to the street. We had to yell to hear each other. Our server Sebastian was so pushy and constantly upselling us. As soon as we sat down, he asked whether we wanted still or sparkling water, but that question should always have 3 options: still, sparkling, or tap? He then recommended the signature omakase, the most expensive thing on the menu. When he came back to take our order, he made a big pitch of today's rib special. When my husband ordered the 8-piece nigiri, he pushed us to upgrade to the 12-piece option. As we were eating, he asked us what else we wanted to order. We ordered $130 of food for 2 people...seriously? We hadn't even finished yet to gauge if we were still hungry. I know that tips are a percentage of the bill, but you would've thought this kid was getting a commission on top of his tip or something. It rubbed us the wrong way. The tuna crispy rice was $5 per piece and the rice was weirdly chewy. Wouldn't order it again. The nigiri were the highlight of the meal. Each piece felt balanced and the sushi rice was good. We ordered 3 rolls: toro toro, scallop, and yellowtail. All were forgettable and expensive for what they were. The yellowtail roll was bland, which is probably why there's a chili ponzu sauce to go with it because otherwise all you can taste is pear, which isn't a flavor I'm looking for in sushi. We ended our meal with scallop tacos, which were good but microscopic and pricey ($17 for 2 tacos). Each one is a bite and a half. It took a while to flag down Sebastian for the bill, so we were stuck in the din of the restaurant for longer than we liked. If the restaurant's filling up, wouldn't you want to turn our table and seat new guests? My husband made a note on the res that it was my birthday, but it was ignored. Maybe we would've had a better experience with a different waiter, but this was a disappointing meal and service.

The food, the ambiance, and service was out of this world. The fish tasted like butter. The sashimi was unlike any sashimi I've ever had. Reservations are required well in advance, and there are 2 seatings daily, 6pm and 9pm, each hosting roughly 7 couples, which keeps the atmosphere serene and intentional. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by the entire staff and seated immediately. We were the first to arrive, so I took the opportunity to admire and take pictures of the space before others arrived. The interior is stunning, breathtaking, and transports you straight to Japan! There's a beautiful private room the back which holds up to 8 guests and the personal chef and low to the group Japanese style seating. On the night we dined, we enjoyed an 18 course omakase tasting, paired with 4 sake tastings. The four sake selections were all exceptional, smooth and refined and unforgettable, even though I regret not capturing each of their names. The meal began with one of the most delicious bites I've ever had, king crab served over a warm and decedent custard. From there each course built on the last. We tasted a variety of salmons, tunas; some completely raw, and some aged to perfection for 14 days. Along with snapper, beautifully grilled Chilean sea bass, and many other crafted dishes. I tried Uni for the first time, and I finally understand why it is referred too as 'ice cream of the sea'. The taste, texture and aroma were all exquisite, creamy, delicate and truly memorable. The experience ended with a warm miso soup, followed by a refreshing melon wedge, and a red bean ice cream sandwiched between two very flaky wafers. Every single bite left me in awe. The chefs knife skills, the precision, the presentation, the simplicity of certain dishes which still packed powerful flavors, it all showcased the artistry of true Japanese fine dining. This was more than dinner, it was an experience. My absolute favorite dish? The A5 Wagu. It was heave on earth, melt in your mouth perfection. If you appreciate fine dining, exquisite flavors, culinarily history, and the craft behind aged, cured and meticulously prepared food, Taki Omakase is an unforgettable experience that you will love from start to finish.
