We ordered several burgers, Ditmas burger came overdone. My daughters build your own, that was supposed to be well done with avocado came pink (see pictures bellow). The Tony fries were really good. Service was just ok, we had reservations and the person sitting us told us we had to wait because they had no tables available. He actually said "what am I supposed to do, kick people out of their tables?". It was uncomfortable, but we weren't delayed by much. Maybe 15 minutes not the end of world. But then one of the owners started arguing with his staff. Told him he was gonna start looking for someone else to work there. He actually said "you are still in debt right, so you need a job!!, But I'm gonna look for somebody else" I felt so bad for the waiter! That argument did not have to be public. I am a big supporter of kosher restaurants but I cannot in good conscience support this owner. We had made a reservation for dinner to celebrate our sons graduation from school and when we arrived the owner of the restaurant tried to seat us in a tiny two seater table. I told him we needed a bigger table and he then decided to "lecture" me that it may rain and that I had to take the smaller table and be happy with it because outside customers would need to be moved in case it rained. It would have been fine with a nice explanation but this guy, the owner, was aggressively rude, in front of my kid and wife no less! I felt like I was being lectured to by a teacher, and a very rude one at that. It was as if he was doing me a favor by even seating us at all! I think this man forgot that people actually pay him for a good experience and that there are plenty of kosher restaurants in South Florida. We obviously walked out and found another place to celebrate in. I highly recommend that nobody support this guy because with an attitude like this it gives everybody wearing a yarmulke a bad name! read more

This was our second disappointing visit to this "upscale" kosher restaurant. The name reminds us of Brooklyn and not in a good way. The service is much like an old time Brooklyn restaurant, discombobulated with servers who are not knowledgeable or professional. We sat for awhile waiting for menus that were finally delivered without a wine list. When we requested a wine list we were greeted with "oh yeah." The manager tried his best to help us but he was so busy covering for the poor service that he was barely able to cope. The food was good but uninspiring. The first two wines we ordered were not available. Sadly, we probably will not be back. read more

Ditmas is even better than when I first reviewed it. The food has continued to improve and the menu is very creative so far as kosher restaurants go. They have lots of delicious burgers and I'm a huge fan of their appetizers (pulled brisket tacos and Tony Fries never disappoint). It's been just over a week since I went to Ditmas with my boyfriend during our visit to Boca and we still haven't stopped talking about it! We were seated immediately when we arrived and our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. We started with the Tony fries which were AMAZING. I've never had anything like them before. Everything looked good on the menu so we decided to split a couple of entrees because we couldn't make up our minds. The burger was delicious and the Spaghetti was the best I have ever had. Very fresh tasting spaghetti, I wish there was a way for us to get it in Atlanta! The portions were huge, we definitely took leftovers with us. We got to speak to the chef, Aaron, and he was so friendly and took time to thank us for coming. The experience start to finish was what I wish for from every restaurant. I cannot wait until our next trip to Boca so we can go to Ditmas again and I can get more spaghetti!! read more

I recently enjoyed a truly fantastic meal at Ditmas. The service was attentive and warm, and the waiter patiently explained the wide variety of creative dishes to us. The food itself was outstanding. We started with the delicious soft tacos, had their very flavorful "airline chicken" dish, and really enjoyed the carrot cake for desert. Great kosher restaurant in Boca. Christmas week, and they were organized and seated us right on tome based on our reservation. We had a Mediterranean platter, and kibbehs, and a seaweed salad for appetizers. All served beautifully and delicious. I had the hibachi salmon and the rest of my group had a variety of sandwiches - the steak sandwich and the chicken schnitzel sandwich. All were great and we were all happy. Do not go here! We were a big party and were seated outside. It was pretty dark and there was no light to see our menus. Being that we're a big party, we ordered many appetizers and then our entrees. Well we didn't even get a chance to eat our appetizers as our entrees came with them. We hurriedly finished our appetizers but our entrees (steaks) were ice cold by the time we ate them. Upon eating our steaks and sides which were blah, my husband found a huge piece of plastic in his Israeli salad. We notified our waiter who said, "that's disgusting I'm so sorry" but not one person from management ever came to apologize or remove it from our bill. We told our waiter about how we didn't have time to eat our starters and the only thing told to us was if you ever return, please notify us to return the food so it doesn't get cold. WHAT??? This is absolutely the worst restaurant I've ever eaten at. A place that can care less about its quality or customer service. Do yourself a favor and eat elsewhere!. The worst experience we had in Boca. We made a reservation on the answering machine and when they called us back we specifically said 2 people and a stroller. When we arrived, we were seated at a table that was right near the kitchen and no room for the stroller. The host pushed our stroller behind us where neither my wife nor I could see our 12 week old. When we asked the host to be re-seated, he obnoxiously said no despite having open tables. The restaurant is cramped and the staff is rude. You do not want to eat at Ditmas! I ordered a salad. There was a hair in my salad. So that was the end of eating my salad. I had also ordered french fry nachos. So I started to eat the nachos and then I pulled out of my mouth a 5 inch hair. Still today (this happened last night 8-21) I just about vomit thinking about it. Last night we had a wonderful experience at Ditmas!. My husband and I and our very good friends were in FL from NYC and wanted to get together. We started out sharing the tony fries which were delicious (although not the healthiest choice). Larry, our server, (we did not know he was the owner until the bill arrived) told us they were big enough for the 4 of us to share and he was correct. We continued with burgers and sushi. All were very tasty, plentiful and presented and plated nicely and we enjoyed the above in their outdoor seating. Lovely. The desserts were big winners as well. We shared the peanut butter mouse (yum!), mint chip gelato and a brownie. Again, all were plentiful and artistically presented, not to mention delicious! When the bill came, we noticed the bottle of wine was erroneously missing and my husband went inside to tell them. A few minutes later, Larry came out and told us a little about himself and his family and then said the wine was on him. That was a very nice gesture. The restaurant was clean, the service was prompt (and not intrusive) and our overall experience was great. Would highly recommend Ditmas to locals and those visiting the Boca area. read more

This past Saturday night I had the pleasure of enjoying a fantastic meal at Ditmas. Ditmas is a unique experience for all kosher eating folks as Ditmas provides creativity to their dishes usually unseen at kosher restaurants. Everything about the meal was amazing. Food- The food was some of the best I've ever eaten at a kosher restaurant. On the appetizer side, our favorite dish was the flatbread topped with roast beef and a quail egg (you don't see that at kosher restaurants every day). This homemade flatbread was some of the best bread I've tasted in my life. Another appetizer we loved was the was the Hawaiian Poke which came in a smoke-filled mason jar. The mixture of the raw fish with the fresh oranges was fantastic. In terms of mains are two favorites were the Bone-in Ribeye and the Salmon which were both fantastic. The airline chicken (airline represents the cut of the chicken) was also moist and very flavorful. In terms of sides, the shishito peppers were also fantastic. Drink - We went with the Psagot wine which was delicious. Service - The service throughout the night was fantastic. Our waiter was attentive, patient, and willing to explain any one of the creative dishes. The were always nearby to fill our water and wine glasses and attend to our needs. The chef/owner even came out to say hi. Would recommend this place to anyone but especially those excited by the creative dishes the chef has put on the menu. read more

I would've selected less stars if I could've. I'm from New York. I come to Ditmas twice a year. I have been eating here since its beginning in California, and tonight was awful. To start off, the waitress was inattentive and had a lot of attitude throughout the meal. She was given specific instructions on how to prepare our food and she completely ignored them. Then, when our food finally arrived, it was a rock. I could've cut the plate easier then the steak. It was so rubbery and hard to chew. And as I begun to eat, a different waiter approached me and asked if we were finished with the steak. There was a huge piece left! Then, my son asked that waiter for pickles and he brought Fanta (orange soda). As the meal was concluding, I wrote the check and the waitress made a face at the check because I gave her the lowest tip possible. With service like that; what could she expect! She didn't even say THANK YOU!! So rude! This is such a shame, how they treat their customers. And with prices like that you would expect to be treated with respect! Every person who I saw leave the restaruant told me how bad their experience was too. With the same problems! This is disgusting!! I'm furious! read more

That may have been worthwhile if the food was good or of significant portion sizes, but that was not the case. The waitstaff was subpar and not attentive as described in other reviews. I've eaten here over 5 times since it's been open and every experience was great! The food is amazing and everything you eat is so satisfying yet healthy. You definitely get what you pay for - the portions are perfect size. A few of my favorites are: kale cesar salad. Honestly I was a little skeptical as kale is not my favorite - LOVE it here. The way it's prepared is so good. Poke is AMAZING def def must have this as a starter. As for the pasta and entrees - chicken pomodoro and the boneless rib eye is amazing. The chefs really do such a great job in preparing their menu - everything I've tried so far has been delicious. Now, don't get me started on the deserts. I literally tried them all - bread pudding and fudge brownie are by far the best!!! Best thing about them is that they are made healthier than most deserts so you don't feel so guilty while eating them. MUST get the bread budding! Not only does the place have amazing food - the environment is so pleasant. The place is decorated so nicely and I definitely suggest eating outside of the weather is nice.
