I purchased *The Ultimate Date Night for Two* gifted experience, which included the Signature Omakase for two, a sake toast, caviar bump kit, signature cocktails, and BOUzy ice creams. There are truly no words to describe how amazing this experience was. Every course was fresh, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. The chef was outstanding--he eagerly answered all of my questions and shared interesting information about each piece of sushi, making the experience both delicious and educational. From start to finish, it was an unforgettable date night and well worth it. I can definitely see why this place receives so many positive reviews. The tuna was incredible, as expected. I'm not big on raw shrimp, so I asked them to torch it and they nailed it. Exactly what I wanted. Only thing I'd skip is the Big Mac... a little too much going on in one bite. Perfect date spot and honestly hard to compare to anything else in Boca. Checked out this place because I wanted omakase, but didn't want to break the bank. They have a $55 12 course if you book at 5:00pm which I did. At the time. This is good value for what you pay. The place is really small and when you first walk in there is a general seating, waiting area while you wait for others to finish and then to turn over the tables. After they are ready for you they will seat you at the bar and they will serve you the food. I will agree with a lot of the other reviews. I wish it was a little more roomy. You are elbow to elbow like on a spirit flight. I think removing one seat from the bar would give a lot of room for the others. Which is kind of poor design because the waiting area is quite large compared to the bar too where everyone is served. Sushi by bou has a pre set menu so it's technically not true omakase since it means "I leave it to you," the chef. But everyone gets the same thing so it's not really different if you go again. With all of that said, the food is still great. The quality of sushi is high and the cuts are solid. Service is great because they are right in front of you so you can just ask if you need something. Seems like there are more workers than customers really. Would definitely go again if I wanted some good sushi. read more

We selected the 12 course approach, which was plenty for us, not enough for our seatmates. You can order additional pieces of sushi if you're still hungry, which the younger guys next to us did. If you want an elevated sushi experience then Omakase is for you! From start to finish the ambiance is warm and inviting. The preparation of all the dishes are done in front of you. The quality of the fish is next level. Many pieces fish were from Japan. You have a seating time, and during that you get a certain number of pieces. We ordered the 17 piece. Each was amazing and meticulously crafted. You don't typically see any of the dishes in regular sushi restaurants. So good, check them out! read more

I have to say, I started a little frustrated due to some miscommunication with my reso notes and providing me an update the day of when it was too late to make any changes without them keeping my $$- but I don't think it was the fault of this location. I believe the resos are handled separately from the company as a whole. THIS location did make a recovery! Smiling face walking into the front which set us back to the right mood. The food is always amazing here. The sushi is extremely fresh and paired with just the perfect ingredients. The sushi chefs are just so happy and dancing along. Sushi by Bou has been on my radar for awhile and since my husband and I are obsessed with anything sushi decided to give it a try. He has been before and was explaining a little bit about this omakase experience is not as unique as the other ones we've been to but that for the price it was pretty good. We decided to upgrade to the bougie menu to try other options beside of the pre fix menu items. We walked in and we were greeted and escorted to the waiting area until they were ready to sit everyone. We looked over the drink menu and both of us had an idea of what we wanted. There were only 7 other guests and the host sat us in between 2 other couples. I was very uncomfortable and you could barely lift your arms without touching the person next to you (the rest of the sushi bar was open so they could've spread us out a bit more) but ok. They started immediately serving sushi pieces on a plate without any introduction or like a little story of the place. Since my husband told me in advance I was ready for the fast sushi experience but not this fast. All this happening and we still had no drinks in our hands, we had to constantly flag the server/host to take our orders. Most of the time he was on his phone or chatting with the bartender. One of the other guests asked the sushi chef if he had to order a drink with them, obviously not and they had to call Over the host to take his drink order. No bueno. The fish selection was great! My favorite was the hamachi (one of the best I've had) the miso cod and the Spanish mackerel. At the beginning the chefs were just describing what we were eating and towards the middle of the experience they were more engaged with the crowd and that kind of offset the first part. They were very friendly sharing experiences with food and joking around which was nice. If this is your first omakase experience you will have a good time no matter what but for people that have been to one before, the fast pace environment doesn't sit well. Again, for the price you pay compared to other places it is worth it, but I wish it was bit slower and share more about the origin of the fish, technique... etc. lastly to the host if he/she could to be a more attentive to the guests specially when there's no one else besides us and my husband had the same experience last time he visited the place. read more

We had to wait about 15 minutes for our Sunday dinner seating, but the (2) chefs on duty made up for the delay and they "kicked it up a notch" when I told them we had already been to the DC location. Chefs were funny, engaging, and answered all our sushi questions. Unlike DC, this spot sliced the fish right in front of us for every serving. I was impressed by the wood chips and the grand finale of audience participation. If you have never had Omakase, this is a great to start your journey! Our reservation was at 7:30pm, but the host had us wait in the lobby. We waited in the lobby for about 10 minutes for drinks and another 10-15 minutes to be seated at the omakase bar. This was roughly 25 minutes past our reservation time, which was a bit frustrating. The omakase itself felt too fast-paced compared to others I've tried. I prefer a slower, more intimate experience where the chef explains the fish, techniques, and ingredients used. The 12 pieces were tasty and definitely better than average sushi, but nothing stood out. For the price, the food was fair, but the drinks were not (I paid $20 for what was basically a cup of ice, which was disappointing.) The ambience wasn't for me either. It was very upscale and trendy, whereas I prefer a quieter, calmer setting. The music was a little too loud, making it hard to hear both the chefs and the people next to me. The seating at the omakase bar was also cramped, and I kept bumping elbows with the person beside me. The chefs were kind and tried to be engaging, but the pace of the meal made it feel rushed. Overall, this might be enjoyable if it's your first omakase, but if you've experienced others, you may leave a bit disappointed. I personally wouldn't return. read more

What can I say that hasn't been said in other reviews. My wife and I scheduled this for a kid free night out and it did not disappoint. We did the 5:45 seating and when we got there we sat down and got one of their signature cocktails before being seated. You get seated right in front of the sushi chefs as among the other guests and get to interact and watch them prepare each piece. We decided to splurge and get the 17 course and wow I am glad that we did, each course was a unique mix of flavors. My husband, friends and I went here for my birthday dinner and it was magical from the moment we stepped through the door. We were promptly checked in (reservation is required) and escorted into a very intimate space with a "speakeasy" vibe. While you wait for your reservation you can order drinks from their cocktail menu that includes all types of liquor, plus wine, Japanese beer, and sake. All specialty cocktails are $18. I ordered the "Boca Bang" and my husband ordered the "Pony Boy." They only seat 12 people per dining experience that is approximately 1hr long. This is the most efficient dining experience I've ever had. The hostess/waiters anticipate your every need and interact with you and the chef seamlessly. The chefs were so much fun and were carrying conversation with everyone while effortlessly crafting each bite. You get 12 individual sushi pieces for $65, or you can upgrade to 17 pieces for $125. They also offer all pieces a La carte for an additional fee. There wasn't one bite that I didn't love! Each piece has its own creative flare, with a medley of toppings that send your taste buds soaring! Two bites I could have endlessly were the Hamachi and the Scallop. Talk about melt in your mouth. The Mizner location is no different and is spot on with professional service and top quality food. I have been here twice now. Trying the 17 course $125 menu the first time and trying the 12 course $60 menu the second time. I thought the 12 course menu would not give delicacies such as uni but it did! I wasn't full off the 12 course but you can add additional sushi pieces a la carte when you're done. The 17 course had me full for sure. I enjoy that the menu changes from time to time. I had a miso cod wrapped in seawood on my last visit and it was so good. The omakase here is speedy - having you in and out within an hour. I can never go back to regular sushi rolls. Never having tried an Omakase curated dinner before I was eager to add the experience to my list. Upon hearing about the Summer Sunday Special, the lovely Spensyr planned an amazing date night for us! With less than a dozen seats at the bar and a couple of small sofas, Sushi by Bou gives off a bit of a speakeasy vibe, only slightly offset by the contemporary pop music playing in the background. We arrived a few minutes early for our timed seating and were ushered to the aforementioned sofas to have a cocktail while we waited. I went with rum, Spensyr went with Mezcal but both were delicious. Eventually we took our seats at the bar and the fun began! Sushi by Bou is a chain, and as such consistency is key, which is all well and good, but it also means the 12 course Omakase menu is posted on the wall and never changes... Don't get me wrong, it was all insanely delicious but knowing that it will be the same tasting menu next week, next month, or 6 states away does kinda lessen the special experience of it and relegates this to a special occasion or couples night out rather than a regular event. Even moreso when the chef informed us that it wasn't based on seasonality, or any special taste profile but instead it is the fish they can regularly get in stock at all locations. Just loses some of the "oomph" to know that it isn't special. Our menu was prawn, urchin, eel, scallops, caviar, several types of fish, and wagyu, all expertly prepared by chefs Tim and Lee, and was so good that after it was over we ordered a couple of our favorite pieces ala carte. We each had our own choices about best bite but not a one was less than stellar. As I was driving, I hit terrible weather and loads of traffic so I ended up being 15 minutes late to my reservation time (the worst, I know), they were very understanding and had the first course waiting. Sitting at the omakase bar is a fun experience and the chef was great at explaining each course. I know some reviews complained that 12 pieces of sushi isn't enough food but I was very satiated and enjoyed every bite! They were also to make slight adjustments to the courses if needed. I'm pescatarian and can't eat meat so they adjusted the surf and turf. The staff were very attentive and I liked the intimate setting. I'll definitely be back! We came here on a Saturday night for a private birthday party. The restaurant is small but it has a romantic and fun atmosphere. Sushi by bou is an omakase style restaurant, therefore make sure you have a reservation before you come. I think the service was excellent and would recommend someone to take their date here as the price is pretty reasonable (as opposed to Taki omakase nearby, because that's where you take your wife/ spouse / husband there!) Onto the food. I personally did not think this establishment exceed my expectations for omakase restaurants. I think this place is decent, friendly, fun, with amazing drinks. But besides that, the sushi were above average in my opinion. I would return with a large group of friends, rather than a night of adventure of trying some unique sushi joint. read more

The interior is small, but large enough where you're not feeling cramped. Great area for having a drink or eating if you don't like sitting at the bar. The omakase is on point, as usual. Though we arrived on time, the experience started about 45 minutes later and to be honest after starting and seeing the preparation and the interactions the sushi chefs and staff had with the guests I wasn't even bothered. They were fun, they explained everything and most of all they took their time to create in front of you. They created edible art and that takes time. The drinks were fantastic, strong but flavorful and complex. The sake shots provided as part of the dinner were fun. It felt both entirely intimate but also super friendly sitting at the bar with other guests. The meal consisted of nigiri. Each piece specially crafted, unique and completely complex. This is not a place where you just get sushi, this is an experience where the purpose is to truly taste what great seafood is. The whole team was great that night. They played great early 2000s music which was just up my alley for a lady in her mid-30s. :) The ambiance as you can see in my photos were very sexy, moody, old Hollywood vibes. There's two options, 12 pieces basic and 15 pieces upgraded with a few more luxurious sources pieces. I usually like to start with basic and add some extra at the end if I'm still hungry. The 12 course is pretty good, some solid creations. My favorite was the miso cod and the Otoro with truffle oil and caviar. While I thought that the sushi chefs were very talented and the food was delicious, it fell short of a luxury experience for me, especially for the price point. The cheap decorations, unorganized staff, and non-curated playlist distracted from the meal. The sushi was fresh and the cocktail I had, the Sake To Me, was delicious, but I did find the cocktail options rather uninventive and boring. The chefs are conversational but also respectful of a more private dining experience if you prefer that. Lastly, at the end of the 12 courses, our chef (as the others were doing too) offered to make us more of whatever we liked the most or something maybe we didn't get to try, and was quite insistent about it in a way that suggested to us it would be just a nice gesture since the restaurant was closing. We accepted his offer for an additional sushi each and we found that we were charged for it on our bill for $12 each, even though the rest of our party who had ordered through a different chef did not get charged. Compared to the rest of the meal, it was a paltry added cost, but we felt it was a bit dishonest. Overall, if you are planning to go for the fresh sushi and you don't care how much money you spend, this would be a great place for you! It would be a fantastic date night or place to bring a visiting friend. Honestly I went into this so excited it was my boyfriend and i's anniversary and he decided to surprise me and go to dinner here. I really was not impressed. My boyfriend is allergic to citrus and it seemed like they did NOT care about allergies. 2 times he got served something with citrus on it and I had to tell them more than 2 times about it. Didn't accommodate the pieces of sushi when they messed up, only gave him 1 different one in the beginning. When the person next to us didn't eat eel and they gave him our package (the more expensive package) my boyfriend paid over $400 and was definitely not worth it. Amazing!!!! My beautiful and thoughtful wife surprised me with a Omakase 18 course sushi dinner, which is a unique experience in its own. There was a small group of us (as reservations are required for the experience) about 6 couples I would say, they lined us up by the sushi bar and the presentation begins. Now, I can't recall each of the delicious and unique sushi rolls they offered us, but each bite got better and better. The drinks are also very good, craft drinks that are tasty and strong. The sushi was fresh and as I said, unique. The entire experience lasted about 90min. The food ...... definitely 5 stars!!!!! but I am deducting 1 star for the fact that we were the 3rd couple to arrive and they sit you accordingly, but for some reason they sat us at the end of the corner, so we we're unable to interact or see the sushi chefs create these wonderful masterpieces. When they sat us, my wife mentioned if we could get a closer seat and the waitress said "oh you have the best seat in the house" and that was not quite accurate. We were unable to hear or see the chefs as they create each unique roll, did it ruin the experience, not at all, but would have been better if we were able to be up close. Couples that arrived after us were given better seats. So this was a bit of a bummer for us, but nonetheless, the food was exquisite. We would definitely try this experience again in the future and hopefully can get a better seat.
