After coming here for over 10 years, I guess it was inevitable that I'd get the Ichiyami ick. Last two visits were not great. Some of the sushi was a little fishy, some of the sushi rolls were not well made, the stir fry bar was not operational, and they weren't great with refilling empty hot dishes. Also, I was not pleased with the level of cleanliness there, both the bathrooms and the floors were really gross. I then made the mistake of Googling their last health inspection and I noticed they were recently cited for: Operating without a license; Storing raw food over unwashed produce; Employees not washing hands and then handling food; A fridge that was operating at temperatures over safe levels. Yuck. That aside, I found that there were 385 (!) total violations since 2014 which is definitely concerning. BTW, even if there were no health department complaints, it's not a great value anymore. Dinner was like $32 and I ate 20 pieces of sushi I think and had some sautéed vegetables. I could get that at my go-to sushi place for less than that. Anyway, it was a good run but I guess that's it for me. One star.
We came right before the lunch hour rush! The inside is smaller than what I imagined. Not all sushi buffets are created equal and this one is one of the better ones. The sushi was of great quality and freshly made. By the time we were leaving there was a wait time. I've never seen a sushi buffet with a line by the door- that's how you know it's good!
There was a group of 12 of us, 8 adults and 3 kids, that came in on Valentine's Day for lunch. We were seated without a reservation within a few minutes after arriving. The weekend buffet price was fairly reasonable for $20.95. There is a huge amount of sushi flavors, seafood, salad, soup, hibachi, Asian cuisine, fruit, and dessert options. Some of my favorites were the California sushi roll, chicken broccoli, and pastries. I enjoyed everything and it was plentiful. The staff took care of us and refilled our drinks as needed. They removed the plates as necessary and checked on us to make sure we were happy with everything. The waiter informed us there was gratuity added on our bill because of the size of our group. Most restaurants wouldn't inform the customers about that and a lot of people would add an additional tip by mistake without thinking about it. All of us had a great time for lunch!

Expect nonstop honking, frustrated drivers, and circling the lot (and nearby streets) for 30+ minutes just to find a spot. Inside, the buffet feels more like a crowded cafeteria than a restaurant. Tons of kids running around -- at one point I honestly felt like I'd wandered into a Disney vacation instead of a sushi buffet. To be fair, the crab legs (available at dinner only) are the highlight. But even then, there's no drawn butter and not even any wet wipes to clean up afterward, which just adds to the frustration. Overall, lots of food choices but not much comfort. With the parking chaos, cafeteria vibes, and lack of small touches that make a buffet enjoyable, I can't give it more than 2 stars.

All-you-can-eat sushi: the concept that terrified Japanese purists and thrilled American college students since it first popped up in the U.S. back in the 1980s. The idea was simple -- "eat until the fish runs out, or you do." Boca Raton's Ichiyami Buffet & Sushi carries that torch proudly. Walk in and you're greeted with rows of tuna, salmon, and rolls galore -- some classic, some experimental, all designed to make you say, "Sure, I'll try it, it's included." The fish was fresh, the rolls plentiful, and the variety strong enough that you don't get bored halfway through the plate. I stuck with the tuna, salmon, and a sampling of rolls, and it was decent value for the price. And then came the showstopper today: I literally watched a man put down 60 raw oysters like he was competing for a Guinness World Record. Impressive? Yes. Terrifying? Also yes. It's the kind of sight that makes you rethink your own digestive limits and mutter a quiet prayer for his ride home. This is a true story. Watching a man eat 60 oysters should come with a parental advisory. The Details: * Plenty of sushi options, including nigiri and rolls that don't just repeat themselves. * Hot food section if you need to cheat on raw fish with fried rice or tempura. * Soy sauce and wasabi available in comical quantities, so you can drown your rolls like every beginner sushi eater since time immemorial. * Value-wise? Solid. You won't mistake this for Nobu, but you're also not paying Nobu prices. All-you-can-eat sushi: because moderation is overrated. Ichiyami is a Boca buffet worth visiting when you want to eat well without emptying your bank account. Fresh fish, plenty of rolls, and enough spectacle (see: oyster man) to make the visit memorable. Come hungry, pace yourself, and remember: just because it's all-you-can-eat doesn't mean you should test the limits of human biology.
Ichiyama is one of my favorite restaurants in Boca. This restaurant is always hopping with people so you know everything is fresh whether it be sushi, Chinese food or hibatchi. There is an abundance of sashimi and sushi food for the sushi lovers as well as a wall full of Chinese dishes and a hibachi station. When you are finished with dinner they is also an assortment of desserts you can choose. My go to restaurant whenever I am in fla.
This place was so good! The fish was really fresh, the buffet areas were clean and organized, and the staff was so attentive and friendly.' I went during lunch and the price for unlimited sushi was a steal. Definitely recommend and definitely coming back!
Great buffet, and super easy to overindulge. The variety of their sushi selection is amazing, service was friendly and fast (never saw my glass fully empty), hot food was constantly refilled to stay fresh. Prices are good, but parking here sucks.
The sushi was excellent, super fresh and had so much variety. The service was great. Plates were cleared fast And always had a full drink. The desserts were very good but stuff that should've been hot was cold like the crème brûlée and the cream puffs, but the coffee cake was delicious. It was a lil loud with all the birthdays , but just join in and celebrate. You're eating good food here. Even the hot food and hibachi was superb. The bill came up to $75 dollars for 2 buffets and 2 sodas. I'll definitely be here again very soon.

I will be honest, this review was teetering towards a 4 star review for a couple of reasons: I was looking for an AYCE sushi place while day tripping in Boca Raton and came upon this place here on Yelp promoting itself as an AYCE sushi restaurant. Also they charge you for ice tea, and I assume soda as well. However, the food (outside of the sushi) made it trend upwards to a 5 star experience (along with the above average service). Everything that I ate, except for the sushi, was delicious and fresh. We came here for dinner and it was about 6pm on a weekday and the place was almost packed, but we acquired a table. A few of the highlights that stuck out to me were the BBQ pork ribs (tender, with a mildly sweet sauce), at least 3 different prepared shrimp dishes (fairly large, fresh and plentiful), and the snow crab legs (fresh, plump meat within). I tried a few other things and they were all tasty and fresh. My only gripe was the actual sushi I was looking forward to. Although it was plentiful, both in quantity and variety, none of it was satisfying. I am so glad I only took one piece, of about five I chose from. They were edible, they just were not that great (they were just OK). The place was clean and overall a comfortable dining experience. This was probably one of the best Asian buffets I (we) have been too. I highly recommend it to both the tourists, like us, or locals (there were quite a few obvious early snowbirds present when we were there).
Ichiyami is easily becoming one of my favorite buffets You know it's good because there's always a wait The seafood is so fresh and you can also ask for hot butter And the crab crackers are right there so you don't have to ask the server The hibachi also seemed to improve since the last time And the other dishes got a little more rhyme One of my favorite things they have there is the steak wrapped asparagus And I never knew they have good crawfish! Everything is good for buffet quality The server is attentive so that just adds in quantity
Ok, this is our go-to place for good sushi, being a buffet. The quality of the food is good and there is a wide variety, both sushi and hot dishes. The service is not bad, the attention of the waiters is usually good. The hostesses, on the other hand, are a separate issue, they always seem not to want to be there, they don't know what to do, I have never seen any of them smile, they are not friendly and seem to be lost. Aside from this, beyond being an important point, the rest meets expectations, except for the bathrooms, they are disgusting.

Went for the first time to celebrate a friend's birthday and the fourth July (America's Birthday!) was very impressed would highly recommend even though I'm not a sushi or sashimi fan the snow crab and the shrimp were delicious and they do a very good job of keeping the food fresh and stocked. read more

I'm not generally a buffet kind of guy, but Ichiyami was pretty good. Place was clean and well kept with a nice outside eating area. Their sushi and sashimi is surprisingly good for a buffet. I only say that because the few other Asian buffet places I've tried the rolls were mainly rice and the sashimi was non-existent. The rest of their buffet was also really tasty and well prepared. Service was friendly and accommodating. Overall, I think this was a top notch buffet! read more
I picked a stop at this place because we would be passing by at a perfect time to make a stop on our trip home from Vero Beach. The reviews were quite good and I was looking for a sushi dinner. I am glad I did stop in. The initial experience was tarnished by the hostess, who asked probing questions about my service dog beyond what is legal to ask before admitting me to the restaurant. She then demanded to see a service animal picture ID, which is something that does not truly exist and is usually carried by those people that buy false IDs on Amazon or other mail order. She begrudgingly accepted the DOT paperwork, which is actually the only official document for service animals that I know of. She went on to break the law in refusing to sit us in the main area of the dining room and sticking us in a corner of what she referred to as the party room, but was actually an isolated area in a back riom separated from the rest of the restaurant. I chose not to make issue of this because I was hungry and strictly by a culinary perspective. I am glad I did. It can be seen in the many pictures, the food is really quite exceptional. It looks great, but it tasted even better. The variety was superb and the sushi and sashimi was as fresh as I have had in any restaurant. Unlike most buffets, the sashimi was plentiful and I have to say that I enjoyed it very very much. The sushi was also quite beautifully arranged and both the nigiri and the rolls were expertly prepared with the freshest to fish both looking and tasting wonderful. I sampled some hot food as well, and it was good, but the highlight remain remained on the sushi. There were also crab legs which were delicious and the hibachi area that I did not have time or appetite to try so I cannot comment. And I always love green tea ice cream for dessert so it's quite happy with that as well. The restaurant appeared lovely, but I did not get to experience it because, as I said, I was relegated to a corner in a back room. This substantially took away from enjoying the experience of eating in a comfortable environment. For this reason alone, I doubt I will go back. it is too bad that their staff was so completely noncompliant with the laws governing access for people with disabilities or they would've had a regular customer. For those without disabilities, I highly recommend this restaurant and hope they will step up and do the right thing to those with disabilities in the future. read more
First time at a sushi buffet. They have lots of options. The sushi with the plantains was one of my favorites and the other one was a sushi that was wrapped in cabbage. The raw fish selection was really good, that was probably my favorite part. The steamed mussels and noodles were also good. The salad and dressing was tasty. Sushi pizza was interesting and good. The cold shrimp in sauce was really good and sweet. I wouldn't get the salmon roe again. Get the cookies and cream ice cream. read more

We were in the Royal Palm Plaza for a car show and after were hungry for lunch. I remembered that Ichiyami Buffet and Sushi was in the plaza and was always curious to try it so off we went. Weekday adult lunch is $16.95 and weekend lunch is $19.95. Dinner buffet is Monday through Thursday $29.95 and Friday through Sunday is $30.95. Parking out front is tight but we lucked out with a spot. There is more parking in other parts of the plaza. The inside is nice with a black and red color scheme and we were seated promptly at one the tables in the main dining room. There is a full bar in the front of the restaurant. We started off with the sushi bar and there was a large selection to choose from along with sashimi, nigiri, cold seafood salads, mussels, and the largest peel and eat shrimp that I have come across in a long time. Next we visited the hot bar with fried foods like crab Rangoon and traditional Asian dishes that included chicken Teriyaki, General Tso chicken, salt and pepper shrimp, clams, green beans, noodles, chicken and broccoli, and more. Also in this area is soup and hibachi. Dessert is fresh fruit including more exotic choices like dragon fruit, cakes, pastries, Jell-o, crème brûlée, panna cotta, and ice cream. This is one of the nicer all you care to eat Asian Buffets that I have visited in South Florida. The staff were on point with removing dirty dishes quickly but they dropped the check before I even finished my first plate. We did enjoy the food here and it is a good value, especially if you like seafood as we do. My favorite dish were the colossal peel and eat shrimp but all of the seafood was fresh and delicious. I recommend this buffet, especially if you enjoy sushi. read more

4.5 stars. Best buffets in town. Great price too. Parking is bit challenging during lunch time. Parking lot is almost full for the plaza. If you like sushi, this is the place. The best part is the sushi rice just right amount and the fish meat right thickness with cover beyond the rice. This is the correct way for the sushi. The minor cup with different taste of small item are delicious. Not to mention the hot food. It is all over the place with many choices. The teppanyaki has the good selection of beef steak. My wife and I were in the area for lunch so we decided to try Ichiyami Buffet. There's quite a variety of food, it's good food but just okay, nothing special! They had, seafoods, chicken, steak, pork, noodles, sushi, salads, desserts...Etc but no frog legs, my favorite!! Most of the food like the chicken and the butterfly shrimps were dry. Also the salt & pepper calamari were extremely chewy like rubber. There's definitely room for improvement. The service was excellent, A very busy place, the restaurant was packed. The price was reasonable, They opted for quantity rather than quality. read more

Today was my first time at this place really good buffet. It's not big but just right for a little lunch or even dinner date . So where do I start the service is outstanding quick and always checking to make sure your drinks are filled up. The food was just as amazing as the service I had some regular food and sushi and I have to say it was really good. I can recommend this place full hearted read more

During my Visit to Miami I decided to do a seafood challenge . Ichyami is the First seafood buffet tasting that I decided to do. This is the second time I visited this restaurant and I love the fresh seafood that they serve. The Snowcrab large shrimp selection of sashimi and a wide variety of sushi that they serve staff prepare. I always go back for a second serving of the sashimi. The tuna salmon and whitefish are fresh and fatty. Definitely a place to come and satisfy your seafood cravings. read more
