Came here for dinner the other night and wanted to try some different things on the menu. Started with Grilled Octopus. It was tender, cooked nicely with spicy lemongrass sauce, and crispy garlic. A nice choice. Acevichado Roll- lobster, crab, shrimp, rolled in soy paper and topped with some type of white sauce, mango, and thin sliced raw onion. This role was all over the place and one of the things that I really don't like about Pubbelly, is, they don't describe their rolls correctly on the menu. The shrimp was fried and nowhere on the menu did it say this roll had cooked shrimp. Whatever the white sauce was it took over the whole roll and it definitely was not one of my favorites. Pricy too at $21. The White Hot roll is always good choice but I have to admit, after ordering two large rolls and an appetizer we were still hungry and had to order a spicy tuna roll. Don't forget... There's 18% added to the bottom line of your bill. read more

I recently dined at Pubbelly Sushi and had a pleasant experience overall, earning it a solid 4 out of 5 stars. The ambience was fantastic, especially since we chose to sit outside. The setting was perfect for a Friday evening around 7 PM--busy enough to have a lively atmosphere but not overcrowded, which allowed for a relaxed dining experience. Our server was friendly and provided excellent service, demonstrating a good knowledge of the menu, which made ordering easier. One standout dish was the chicken fried rice; it was absolutely delicious and definitely a highlight of the meal. While the sushi was decent, it didn't quite meet my expectations and wasn't my favorite. However, I'm open to returning and exploring more options on the menu, as I believe there's potential for a better experience with different dishes. In summary, Pubbelly Sushi offers a great dining atmosphere, tasty fried rice, and attentive service. I look forward to giving it another shot! read more

Perfectly adequate restaurant, cute space, interesting menu. The basic sushi was fine. Other types of good (dumplings, fried rice ) just very so-so. Overall, they are trying for an upscale fusion thing, just isn't amazing. Not bad, but certainly many better options read more

Great ambiance, music, vibe, cleanliness and food. We arrived during the lunch happy hour and the deals couldn't be beat. Salmon crispy rice was my absolute favorite! The edamame was good and the bbq salt made it great! The California roll, chicken wings (not as spicy as described) and the chicken bites bowl (it's only served on a bed of iceberg lettuce) were all flavorful. Too much fried for me, but it's what I ordered. Carlos, was incredible and kind. I ordered a mocktail but it fell short in the sweetness. The overall experience was great but I would certainly go again. Check them out and enjoy! P.s. The bathroom was clean and stocked well. read more

've been to the Pubbelly Sushi location before and was so excited when I heard Boca was getting one! I went with my college daughter for a Monday lunch date and we were ready to sushi it up. Right away, our waiter let us know that all rolls were $12 on Mondays -- which felt like a major win. We ordered the Bigeye Tuna Roll (spicy tuna on crispy rice with truffle), the White Hot Roll (hamachi tartar, tuna, wasabi ponzu, garlic aioli, Fresno pepper), and the Eel Avocado Roll (eel, avocado, eel sauce). Every single roll was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The crispy rice and truffle on the tuna roll? So good. The White Hot had the perfect balance of heat and brightness. Zero complaints about the food -- absolutely delicious. Now for the odd part. When the check came, there was an automatic 18% gratuity added -- which was surprising for a casual Monday lunch for two. Even more confusing, the 18% wasn't calculated on the $12 Monday roll price. It was calculated on their regular menu pricing. When I questioned it, the waiter checked with the manager and confirmed that gratuity was based on the "regular" pricing, not the promotional price. That didn't sit right with me. It's not like we used a coupon or discount code -- it was their advertised Monday special. To their credit, they removed the amount, and I left 18% based on the actual bill. It was just... strange. Not a dealbreaker, but definitely something to be aware of if you go on a Monday. Also -- parking in restaurant row is a bit of a bear. Plan accordingly. That said, the sushi really was fantastic, and I will absolutely be back. Just keeping an eye on the check next time! It was a bit strange I must say. I did read on another review that if you use the QR code you get charged an extra $4.99 so please be careful. read more

Pubbelly sushi is a quaint restaurant with an amazing happy hour menu, which is the reason I was there in the first place. The happy hour menu has drinks for $5 and food for similar prices, and with prices like that, you will get to order several items in the menu and you are still doing well financially. I tried several items and they were all good, and I was pretty happy that they had unfiltered cold sake. Sign me up the next time we are going there read more

Great spot in one of my favorite cities in South Florida...Boca! Out to a quick lunch with my daughter and she ordered the Spicy Tuna roll which she loved and I did a simple but tasty, Shishito Peppers. They have a great Happy Hour, which starts at 2pm which sadly we missed but we will be back for sure! The service was on point and the restaurant trendy and clean. I even got to watch a piece of a World Cup game while we ate... read more

Carlos our waiter was overwhelmed with a big crowd of 20. The food was served as ready and everything was tasty but serving size of sushi was small. Drinks were good size pour and fried rice was ok. The food did not compete with other sushi restaurants in town. The happy hour menu was extensive for the price but the portion size was a disappointment. SUPPORT LOCAL read more

Service and vibe were honestly great. The space is lively, fun, and our server was incredibly sweet and attentive. No complaints there at all. Now for the food. I really wanted to love it, but I just did not get the hype. Everyone online says the butter Krab roll is a must try, and that is what brought me in. For me, it just missed the mark. It is imitation krab, and while the menu calls it butter Krab, the description says crab, which felt a bit misleading. The rolls are also huge. You only get four oversized pieces instead of six to eight normal sized rolls, and they were hard to eat. I would much rather have real crab and smaller, more balanced bites. The eggplant appetizer was good, but it definitely lacked the flavor I remember when I tried it at the West Palm location. The ceviche roll was not for me at all. There is no raw seafood, and it was overloaded with leche de tigre. A traditional leche de tigre does not include cream, and this one did, which made it heavy and unpleasant. The lobster and crab donuts were fine. Nothing special, but not bad either. The standout dish was the tuna nigiri. When I eat sushi, I want high quality raw fish, and the tuna was excellent. Fresh, clean, and easily the best thing I had. Overall, great service and a fun vibe, but the food did not live up to the hype for me. I probably will not be back, but if you go, stick to the nigiri. read more

Came to Pubbelly for a late night bite to eat. Our waitress Jim was amazing! She was accommodating, gave great suggestions, and was a joy for the evening. We ordered the butter Krab rolls, lobster and crab donuts, Korean BBQ wings, and kimchi fried rice. Everything was great! The butter Krab roll was full of Krab and tasted even better with the drawn butter. The lobster and crab roll was a 100/10; the savory and sweet combo with the hot honey and tenderness of the seafood was everything. The Passion Fruit mojito was so good! It was the perfect blend of strong and sweetness. I cannot wait to come back to try more of what they have to offer. read more

Our waitress was amazing. I'm pretty certain her name is Mars, she made a ton of suggestions and one thing was better than the next. She came around just read amount of times and always made sure we had everything that we need. Food was good, for the price I would say the portions are a little bit small. Highly recommend you stop in and try happy hour first and foremost to get an idea of what they have. Monday and Tuesday they offer any sushi roll off the menu for $12. There is an app called inKIND, it took $30 off of my check. If you sign up for the reward loyalty program that's such an additional 10 off my bill. read more

Came on a weekend knowing they don't offer weekend happy hour deals which is a complete let down when 2 other restaurants in the same plaza have weekend deals. Ordered some edamame, Korean bbq chicken wings and a bottle of sake. Food was good but disappointed in the amount of wings we received with our order. We paid $17 for 5 wings and although they were extremely tasty we would not order again due to the price. Additionally, the bartender advised as if the already included 18% gratuity which I appreciated him informing us of however, some servers or waitstaff may not be so mindful in disclosing that so check your bill before you tip! read more

This was truly an experience for me and my parents. The service and atmosphere were incredible. They were very attentive, paying close attention to my allergies and everything we needed. Our waitress kept coming over and we did like a tapas style because there were so many cute innovative appetizers like short rib dumplings and crab & lobster donut holes ! I really enjoyed all the different flavors of the food. Lastly, I had the watermelon basil margarita which was heavenly ! 10/10 would go again ! Maybe because it was a Monday but I feel this place is a little secret because it wasn't as busy as next door. I was happy to beat the crowd. Perfect for a date night spot ! read more

The food is as good as someone microwaving a bag of frozen produce from Walmart with some sprinkling of spices that barely make it appetizing. And don't forget the 9$ water that is tact onto the bill without your notices as they have "ran out" of water. The service was extremely bad. Most of the time the employees are either not on standby or they aren't proactive in providing a good service let alone a luxurious one. The ambiance was also very poor. The lowlight makes it feel like you are at a discreet bar while the pop music was completely clashing with the somber atmosphere. read more

Outside seating looked really nice, but at around 6pm there was still too much sun in your face for my companions, so we sat inside where it was darker and louder. Our server was great at explaining the menu. We wanted to share and the entrees as described seemed too small for our group. We ordered a number of small plates plus dessert. We left stuffed. They have only imitation crab, which I don't usually like, but I really liked the Butter Krab Roll. It was wrapped in bread. We all liked the eel roll too. There are a lot of fried options on the menu. The gyoza and ribs were both crispy. The eggplant was very good, but a little too heavily sauced. The cerviche with tostones was a hit, but the cerviche portion was small - especially next to the tostones. For me, the highlights were the desserts. They have black sesame ice cream!!! Everyone loved both the Mason Jar.and Miso Bread Pudding. I'd like to go back for happy hour or dessert. read more

After going to Pubbelly yesterday and on multiple occasions I can say the one thing missing is ambiance or a vibe or any sense of place and this is especially notable as its location necessitates a drive and paid valet parking. There are three other new(er) restaurants within the same dining complex and all three have nice interiors and give off a feeling of going somewhere somewhat special while Pubbelly feels like a threadbare nondescript sports bar but with basic Asian inspired murals. Not much money was put into the restaurant and it shows and even the seats are uncomfortable and cheap. They do have a good and eclectic music playlist but that's not enough. The menu is also lacking and is limited. Pubbelly has good food and nice service but the low end basic and dull atmosphere diminishes the experience. There are chef driven restaurants where excellent cuisine override any design issues but this is an investor backed small chain and while the food is fine it's not exactly a Michelin destination. I still like Pubbelly and its nice staff but the restaurant lacks any character and is probably best to go to when in the immediate area. read more

The itself food was delish however... service was not worth the 18% included gratuity on our dinner for two. The water tap broke so we were charged full price for bottled water. Our server was also below par.. off chatting with co-workers and not attentive for the hour we were there. read more

Terrible experience at Pubbelly Sushi Boca Raton. Service was awful, we waited around 30 minutes after finishing our food just to get the bill, and nobody checked on our table once the food arrived. The food itself was disappointing too. The rolls were awful, honestly disgusting. The only edible thing we had was the edamame. On top of that, a 20% gratuity was automatically added without being disclosed anywhere on the menu, which felt like the final insult given how poor the service was. Would not recommend. read more

I don't often leave negative reviews, but I can't say I'll be looking to go back to Pubbelly after my experience. The food is extremely overpriced for what you get. One chicken skewer for $15?! That is insane. Our server took a while to come to our table and we had to continue asking for water. The food wasn't bad but it couldn't make up for the prices and service. I will compliment the lychee martini though. read more

So the service was okay. The food was okay. The vibe was fine. Nothing special. The prices are high for what it is. As others have suggested, too much mayo and/or truffle oil (fake truffle oil?) on every dish. It was a little much. The real issue is the server left a little block with a QR code to scan to pay the bill. However, if you opt to use this, they charge you a $4.99 platform fee!!! Like $5 extra to pay via a QR code instead of handing the card to the server. This is crazy!! And it's a small line item so it's hidden. Very deceptive. Is this even legal?!? Totally shady at the very least. Def gives off scammy vibes and cheapens the experience. FYI they also auto add gratuity, but then post a suggested additional gratuity at the end... this is also crazy. Either charge me the 20% and don't ask or don't auto add and offer me a suggestion (or let me leave what I want). read more

First time here must say the ambience is very well appointed and must also say the waiter Carlos A was definitely honest about the taste of the food and was very helpful. We were there on Tuesday and sushi rolls are $12 each, also on Monday $12 rolls which makes it much more affordable. some pork ribs, and a few rolls. Edamame rice Everything was good. A little spicy for us Our friends were more in the sushi than us really enjoyed it. We're not really sushi lovers so that might put a little edge on but always is a good experience to try something that you're not really into indoor outdoor seating. read more

Karla was very knowledgeable about food allergies and was super helpful! Highly recommend!

Ordered two rolls and the corn app. Should've stopped when the corn app was served, felt it was just salty and pumped with the fake truffle flavoring, clearly not fresh made. The first roll had tuna that didn't taste right, the fish wasn't fresh, second roll was recommended by the server, I'd describe it as a complete failure. A couple hours later got violently sick. I got a gift card so I decided to try Pubbelly out for the 1st time. I had called them prior because the the Boca location is not even listed on their website, just the 5 other locations, and I wanted to see the menu. The girl who answered said she would tell the manager. I have been eating sushi for many years here, and to date myself I used to go to the very 1st sushi and only restaurant in Boca on a regular basis. I went early ( 5:00PM +/-), because I know all those restaurants there get crowded early, which was the case. I walked in, and it was empty and I was surprised. I was the only person in there, and sat at the bar. Another other couple showed up. I asked for a warm tokkuri of sake, and the server said it's by the glass. Never heard of that before, but he said he would take care of me. I wanted the plain Himachi which said it was made with white fish. I asked him which type of white fish. He didn't know, nor asked to find out. It came with Tostones, which I didn't want, but ordered it anyway. It was a tiny portion for $19, pricey for 3-4 mouthfuls. I also ordered a Salmon Avocado roll, which was OK. I decided I just wasn't going to order anything else and left hungry and went home and ate something. I asked for the check which he brought and said that they automatically add a 18% gratuity. That was a first in all my years to hear that. I found that to be bad business and obnoxious. I don't mind paying 18%, but it should be the customers decision, not the restaurant making you pay it. The server was friendly enough, but it wasn't a good food experience, I wish them all the best in this location, but I couldn't recommend it, especially when there are countless other sushi places in Boca now. Just my two cents. read more
