I appreciated the opportunity to engage with Patrick our Michellen star chef while watching him prepare each course with precision & love. We started by sharing Tatenyan Kitty sake that was light of fragrant with a gentle, sweetness and dry finish that was well balanced. I enjoyed watching Patrick prepare each dish some torched, with gold dust, charcoal, and minut details with tweezers. Patrick told us about each course & the ingredients contained. I enjoyed the sushi roll the most. My two coworkers both ordered different types of sushi rolls. One had fish and the other was a sweet potato roll. The restaurant packed both of the rolls in the same box, which resulted in a mess, as the sauce on one roll got mixed in with the other roll. Again, this was take-out, so I am sure we would have had a different experience if we ate in the restaurant. I would like to try this restaurant again. The sushi was decent. There was too much rice used and too much going on top of the sushi pieces for my liking, but I still managed to finish them. The servers were welcoming and the manager was very hospitable checking up on me to make sure I had everything that I needed. Will definitely recommend this place to others. We were also seated alone in the bar area while the main dining room was active, which immediately created a disconnect from the atmosphere and seemed to contribute to the service challenges that followed. We ordered the Curry Chicken, Chicken Lo Mein, a glass of wine, and water with lemons. The lemons never arrived until we reminded our server. The Curry Chicken was delivered without rice, requiring another reminder before the meal was complete. Shortly afterward, the Chicken Lo Mein arrived, and we requested a fork. Fifteen minutes later, after nearly finishing the Curry Chicken, we finally flagged John down to remind him that the fork had never been delivered. By that point, the Lo Mein had been sitting long enough that it was barely warm, and we seriously considered sending it back. To add to the confusion, another server eventually informed us that he would be taking over our table, though no explanation was provided. As for the food, it was average at best. I've had significantly better Curry Chicken elsewhere, and the Chicken Lo Mein lacked the flavor and quality that would make me want to order it again. While the food was serviceable, it certainly wasn't memorable enough to overcome the service issues.
