I came here with my husband the other night because we went to an event and left super hungry and desiring sushi. As we were heading north, we happened to see this place. I didn't realize that I'd been here years ago and had a great experience. I'll tell ya, the sushi was good, the service was friendly and it was convenient that they were open later but man, $27 for a roll? I get inflation but that's a bit much. Needless to say, we shared the roll because, after all, my husband's birthday is tomorrow. I would definitely recommend if you're in the area but make sure you're prepared for the prices!

I love that they have a vegan menu. I got a vegetable roll, inari roll, inari sashimi & I got a seaweed salad. I loved everything. I just wish the portion of seaweed salad was a little larger. My favorite roll was definitely The veggie roll. I was also excited to see inari on the menu.

This small venue is as close to an authentic Japanese sushi restaurant as I've ever experienced in south Florida. Not much at all like the usual combo sushi-Japanese food place or even the hybrid Thai-sushi places that I'm used to. In fact, there was very little choice for me to select to eat at our recent lunch here. So why am I still giving it four stars? Because I know that their sushi is quite good, my husband liked his meal, and that the restaurant (and its chef) deserve a very good rating. The caveat is that you need to know not to come here if you don't eat raw fish, you're staying away from rice, or you're looking for a hibachi style meal. Neither of which I knew before we stopped in. So be forewarned. The lunch specials were all sushi combinations. And 98% of the regular menu is sushi. My husband got their sushi lunch special -- which included the chef's choice of fish (5 pieces over rice -- one tuna; one salmon; 3 other white fish) and a small 4-piece California roll. He opted for a salad to start (or you could have miso soup). I also asked for a side salad to start. It was a large plate of mixed greens (lots of frisée and spinach leaves) topped with carroty ginger dressing. It had a few pieces of tomato and cucumber around the edges. In the center on top of the greens was a mound of shredded carrots and shredded beets. I'm not a fan of frisée, but the dressing was quite good. So what did I eat you ask? I tried to see if they had a kanisu roll -- this one has cucumber on the outside (instead of rice) and a filling similar to a California roll, but nope. She said they didn't make it. The only non-rice roll with cucumber (naruto) had raw fish in it. Asking if anything on the menu was cooked, she mentioned that they had one roll with baked salmon. So yes, I ordered it. It's their volcano roll which was a mound of (cooked) baked (canned?) salmon on top of a California roll. So I ate the slightly spicy salmon and picked out the cucumber, avocado, and krab from the center of the California roll (leaving the rice behind). Ok. So this is a strange review in that this restaurant isn't for me. However, those that love sushi will fall in love with it. And just cause I can't appreciate it, doesn't mean you shouldn't.

Sushi was great! The rice had a great consistent. There was the sushi vinegar and it was balanced by the soft rice. Hard to come by the perfectly cooked sushi rice. The salmon was fresh and buttery. It melted in my mouth. The lunch specials are great! $14 for a salmon combo sushi. It comes with either a miso soup or salad. The soup was a bit overpriced on its own ($7/bowl) . The salad was mixed greens, not the usual lettuce that other restaurants serves. The only issue we had was the service. It was really slow and we were the only table at the restaurant. There was two other tables but they were in the process of getting their checks when we were ordering. It took 45 mins for food to come out. Great place to eat if you're not on an hour lunch break. Overall, I would come back. Amazing sushi.

It is truly a spot to check out. Came highly recommended, and my source is highly creditable. Not fancy whatsoever, but the food sure is. The "don't judge a book by its cover" definitely applies here. I believe we ordered over 10 different rolls, and I can't say a bad word about any of them. Favorites were the Amaya Roll and the Fantasy Roll. Sashimi was super fresh melt in your mouth. This place deserves some love. As always, you're welcome.

Best sushi in miami bar none, rye Boca soup is a blast of delicious flavors. After a smorgasbord of apps, (gyozy#1), sushi and soup; we got the fried banana desert..WOW. Great food, great service and pride in what they do

After eating my way through Boca and Delray to find a sushi restaurant that could be considered my "go-to" place, I discovered Sushi Jessie. The roll selection is unique and the sauces are exquisite. Hands down, the absolute best sushi I have eaten on all of SFLA! The family that runs the place seems happy to be there and genuinely loves to serve food to the community. My two younger daughters love going there for the Japanese soda and the yummy miso soup, which is served in these beautiful, elegant bowls. I took my two college-aged daughters when they were home for Mother's Day. I must admit I have a raised a couple of food critics, and they absolutely love it. They rated it as the best sushi they had ever eaten. As an added touch, they had roses for all the mothers who came in to dined with them that weekend--such a sweet touch. If you haven't been to Sushi Jessie's, do yourself a favor and check it out. Make sure to have the Jessie roll and the Tokyo roll. You will not be disappointed!!

Delicious food with kind service. Came here from a recommendation from some friends who live in Boca. I walked in and everyone greeted me, and immediately came to my service. We sat outside, and it was a nice and quiet. The food was very tasty! Our first dish was the Jalapeno appetizer, which consisted of hamachi. It was very flavorful and did have a kick of spiciness. Our next dish was the Spicy toro tartar. That is absolutely a must have. It was extremely flavorful, and the chip was so crispy I wish they gave us more!!! We ordered two rolls that were recommended by the waitress. The first was the birthday roll. It was fresh and light, very good! After you eat it, you don't feel like you over ate... We thought that roll was sooo good and to our surprise the next roll packed on even more flavor! The last dish was the Jessie roll. Just wow. That is absolutely my favorite. All the food was beautifully presented. Overall, great service and food. Love supporting local business. We will come back! Ambience: B Food: A Service: A Drinks: N/A (drank water) Cost: B+

Wow....period, well I need to say more. This place is really nothing to look at from the outside or the inside but that is really no fair from a judgement perspective. The dish is put together in really unique combinations and it's fresh, as in just off the boat fresh. Try the island roll. It's not cheap but it's really yummy!

I came here for a birthday party event where we rented a karaoke lounge room. It was a very fun experience. There's a server that comes in throughout the night to check on you and take your orders and whatever you need. It was a lot of fun! This time we ordered edamame, Wild Mushroom Chow Fun, braised short rib, wagyu potstickers, green tea, and for the kids the Vegetable Lo Mein Bowl. Everything was delicious, fresh, and came out really fast. A few small things disappointed us this visit. They changed the menu and removed my kids' favorite grilled cheese. It used to come on this amazing soft airy rice bread grilled to perfection, and now it's just a regular multigrain sandwich. The kids were genuinely upset since we always ordered it for them. My green tea was also served with water that didn't seem hot enough, and the foam on top was a little off-putting. I know green tea is brewed at a lower temperature, but this just didn't feel right. Also, the restroom used to have a beautiful chandelier, and now it looks like something happened to it -- only hanging wires are left, which takes away from the otherwise polished aesthetic. Still, KAPOW remains one of our favorite spots because the food is consistently excellent, the atmosphere is fun and stylish, and service is always quick.

The sushi was fresh, flavorful, and definitely the highlight of the night. The restaurant itself was also really beautiful and had a nice upscale vibe. Unfortunately, the cleanliness and service at the beginning didn't match the atmosphere. When we first sat down, one of our glasses had a lot of scratches and the other one was visibly dirty. When I asked for them to be changed, the waitress initially insisted it was just scratches, even though one was clearly dirty. She eventually replaced them, but the new glass was also heavily scratched, and what bothered me most was that she took the dirty glass and placed it on another table instead of taking it to be cleaned. The attitude at first felt a little dismissive and rude, although she did become much more polite and helpful as the night went on. Another downside was the bathroom cleanliness. It smelled like a public restroom, which really didn't fit the fancy atmosphere the restaurant was trying to create. Overall, the food was genuinely excellent, but for a place that looks this nice, the cleanliness and attention to detail should be much better.

After they are ready for you they will seat you at the bar and they will serve you the food. I will agree with a lot of the other reviews. I wish it was a little more roomy. You are elbow to elbow like on a spirit flight. I think removing one seat from the bar would give a lot of room for the others. Which is kind of poor design because the waiting area is quite large compared to the bar too where everyone is served. Sushi by bou has a pre set menu so it's technically not true omakase since it means "I leave it to you," the chef. But everyone gets the same thing so it's not really different if you go again. With all of that said, the food is still great. The quality of sushi is high and the cuts are solid. Service is great because they are right in front of you so you can just ask if you need something. As soon as we sat down, he asked whether we wanted still or sparkling water, but that question should always have 3 options: still, sparkling, or tap? He then recommended the signature omakase, the most expensive thing on the menu. When he came back to take our order, he made a big pitch of today's rib special. When my husband ordered the 8-piece nigiri, he pushed us to upgrade to the 12-piece option. As we were eating, he asked us what else we wanted to order. We ordered $130 of food for 2 people...seriously? We hadn't even finished yet to gauge if we were still hungry. I know that tips are a percentage of the bill, but you would've thought this kid was getting a commission on top of his tip or something. It rubbed us the wrong way. The tuna crispy rice was $5 per piece and the rice was weirdly chewy. Wouldn't order it again. The nigiri were the highlight of the meal. Each piece felt balanced and the sushi rice was good. We ordered 3 rolls: toro toro, scallop, and yellowtail. All were forgettable and expensive for what they were. The yellowtail roll was bland, which is probably why there's a chili ponzu sauce to go with it because otherwise all you can taste is pear, which isn't a flavor I'm looking for in sushi. We ended our meal with scallop tacos, which were good but microscopic and pricey ($17 for 2 tacos). Each one is a bite and a half. It took a while to flag down Sebastian for the bill, so we were stuck in the din of the restaurant for longer than we liked. If the restaurant's filling up, wouldn't you want to turn our table and seat new guests? My husband made a note on the res that it was my birthday, but it was ignored. Maybe we would've had a better experience with a different waiter, but this was a disappointing meal and service.

I posted over 25 pictures of my experience below please have a look and let me know if you have any questions. We were a party of 3 and in order to reserve our spots we had to make a separate deposit of $50 per person. After your meal the deposit either can get refunded or put toward your meal. The food, the ambiance, and service was out of this world. The fish tasted like butter. The sashimi was unlike any sashimi I've ever had. We also had a lovely tasting of cherry sake and even that was delicious too. Definitely give Taki a try for your next date night, Valentine's Day, Anniversary, or any occasion!

Taki Omakase in Boca Raton is fine dining at its absolute best…read more This intimate, small restaurant offers a true omakase experience with a private chef, making every moment feel exclusive and personal. Reservations are required well in advance, and there are 2 seatings daily, 6pm and 9pm, each hosting roughly 7 couples, which keeps the atmosphere serene and intentional. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by the entire staff and seated immediately. We were the first to arrive, so I took the opportunity to admire and take pictures of the space before others arrived. The interior is stunning, breathtaking, and transports you straight to Japan! There's a beautiful private room the back which holds up to 8 guests and the personal chef and low to the group Japanese style seating. On the night we dined, we enjoyed an 18 course omakase tasting, paired with 4 sake tastings. The four sake selections were all exceptional, smooth and refined and unforgettable, even though I regret not capturing each of their names. The meal began with one of the most delicious bites I've ever had, king crab served over a warm and decedent custard. From there each course built on the last. We tasted a variety of salmons, tunas; some completely raw, and some aged to perfection for 14 days. Along with snapper, beautifully grilled Chilean sea bass, and many other crafted dishes. I tried Uni for the first time, and I finally understand why it is referred too as 'ice cream of the sea'. The taste, texture and aroma were all exquisite, creamy, delicate and truly memorable. The experience ended with a warm miso soup, followed by a refreshing melon wedge, and a red bean ice cream sandwiched between two very flaky wafers. Every single bite left me in awe. The chefs knife skills, the precision, the presentation, the simplicity of certain dishes which still packed powerful flavors, it all showcased the artistry of true Japanese fine dining. This was more than dinner, it was an experience. My absolute favorite dish? The A5 Wagu. It was heave on earth, melt in your mouth perfection. If you appreciate fine dining, exquisite flavors, culinarily history, and the craft behind aged, cured and meticulously prepared food, Taki Omakase is an unforgettable experience that you will love from start to finish.
