We recently attended an orthodox Bar Mitzvah party at this location. An extremely noisy BAR where tasteless snacks were passed around by scarce waiters. Then we were asked to walk outdoors to an "Event hall" where we where directed to assigned tables were waited and waited for food to be served. Finally they pointed out to a skimpy self-service Buffet. I cannot believe that a Meshgiach approved of such cold tastless "food" consisting of dry overcooked chicken, cold falafel, some salads and non-dairy ice-cream The music was great and fun was had read more

This was, without question, the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. We came as a family group -- my in-laws, my wife, and our two-year-old daughter -- expecting a nice dinner. We were seated and placed our order within about ten minutes. After that, everything fell apart. Nearly 50 minutes passed with no appetizers. When we asked, the hostess told us the waitress had "forgotten to fire the order" and that it was being handled. That explanation felt dishonest, especially given what followed. Over an hour after ordering, our salads finally arrived -- but the hot appetizers never did. After close to two hours of waiting, the waitress told us the kitchen wouldn't even let her in to get an update. At that point, we got up and left -- without having eaten dinner. Multiple tables around us were experiencing the same thing, with other families also simply giving up and walking out. A manager was present in the restaurant the entire time, yet never once came over to check in, apologize, or attempt to make things right. We even had to specifically ask for bread (which they usually charge for) just so our two-year-old had something to eat -- and that bread came out with the salads after over an hour after ordering. Being "backed up" happens. But the lack of honesty, communication, accountability, and management involvement made this experience completely unacceptable. We will never return. read more

Went here for a staff Chanukah party and the food was phenomenal. I'm not sure if for smaller parties the portions and how it is served is different but for our large group the portions were great and served on large wooden platters. Everything was delicious, the ribeye steak was the highlight and melted in your mouth. The best kosher food I've ever had. My only complaint which is why it's 4 and not 5 stars was the service was slow and there was a lot of times we had no water or drinks. Would definitely go back. Definitely on the pricier end too. read more

Looking for some musical entertainment, my husband and I decided to check out the W and enjoy some live music. This was a great find. We decided to stay for appetizers and drinks and both did not disappoint. John the bartender provided drinks to our liking and they complimented the delicious appetizers we ordered. There were many interesting choices like the ceviche (which was so good), the short rib ragu croissant (yum!) and the chicken poppers (sweet and sticky) The portions were generous and tasted delicious. However, the highlight was listening to the saxophonist, Delton Walker. Music was only scheduled until 9:00 but we could have stayed to listen for hours. We will definitely return when this talented musician is playing again and will sample some more items on the menu we didn't get to try. Service was excellent. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. It happened to be our anniversary and our server Melinda, surprised us with a decadent dessert (The W Dessert Plate). Overall, I highly recommend. read more

An attractive kosher restaurant ensconced in a lovely country club golf course setting, with rolling greens and swaying palm fronds. The menu has a lot of variety. Not everything listed on the website was available on the day's menu though. The food and service were excellent. My favorite thing was the super fresh pita, truly excellent. The Mediterranean plate of Israeli dips like tahini, roasted eggplant, Moroccan carrots, pickles, was great for sharing. My chicken schnitzel sandwich was so enormous, it was enough food for 2 meals or more. All the burgers and sandwiches were very big and impressive. The sabich pita came with a breaded fried eggplant. I didn't try it but my husband wolfed it down so must have been good lol. Service was excellent and the waitress helped us through the menu, explaining how things come etc. We finished our meal with a yummy non-dairy latte. Forgot to take pictures cause we ate everything too quickly. They have an outside seating area by the golf course where ladies were playing mahjong. Our server was awesome very friendly, the food was pretty good, nothing blew us away but for a kosher steak house it was pretty good! My salad had a lot of things in it that were not mentioned on the menu which was a huge turn off but everyone else enjoyed their food! It was a very noisy restaurant, we went on a busy night but if you have trouble hearing I do not recommend! They have us a free dessert and it was the best parve ice cream I've ever had. read more

We went for the first time and food was great! I would say they need to work on the descriptions on the menu as the name and description doesn't match with what I got, but it was delicious and I was very happy with it! The portions are very large as well! The building itself needs a lot of work outside. We walked through what we thought was the main door and it was some kind of back door and there were dirty dishes with dust all over, must be part of renovation but they should of had that door locked. Some of the other areas outside needed attention but overall food was great! read more

we went on one of the busiest nights and yet every single person was so kind and courteous. We sat at the bar waiting for our table the bar tender was wonderful and friendly. When we got a table our amazing waiter Jimmy took great care of us together with the rest of the staff. Tje food was amazing we got two mixed drinks, the Hummus appetizer and the American Ribeye with French fries. I will definitely be going back. read more

Over the past month i have been to THE W a number of times. the ambiance is always spacious and beautiful. Sometimes it is very crowded and we are still able to be served in a timely manner. Other times , it was on the empty side and we were 8 people who sat there for 2 hours and were totally ignored with no explanation at all, as well as poor service, an order that was messed up and a bill that was miscalculated for all of us. However, we were fortunate each time we were served by Melinda and Daniel. Their warmth and graciousness made our dining such an enjoyable experience. Rude, inattentive, and surly waiters/staff. My family and I went here last year and had a great time and the food was amazing. This year the restaurant switched owners and was very different. The only thing nice is the fact that the inside of the restaurant was remodeled. This year, the food was below average for a whopping 70+ dollars per person, the restaurant offers no good sides or variety for a normal Thanksgiving meal. I've been to the W Steakhouse many times, and each meal has always been superb, but this recent visit was an extra special treat. Not only was the food amazing, but we were also treated to live music by a talented saxophone player. His smooth, beautiful tunes created such a wonderful atmosphere. During his set, he even took time to play a happy birthday song for a large group, and it turned into a heartwarming moment as everyone gathered around and sang along. The crowd was clearly impressed, clapping enthusiastically after every song. As for the food, it never disappoints. Some of my favorites include the Cauliflower Tempura as an appetizer--crispy and perfectly seasoned. My main dish, the Bronzino, was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection. And I couldn't resist finishing off the meal with the Cookie Monster dessert, which was the perfect sweet ending. Without a doubt, the W Steakhouse is my favorite restaurant, and this visit reaffirmed why. Great food, excellent service, and now live jazz from an artist who didn't miss a beat! read more

Top notch! Food and service were Superb! Great Ambience. Prices rival those of non- kosher steak houses. Out of 23 people- 19 do not keep kosher and they were beyond impressed with the quality , taste and presentation of appetizers, meats, fish and dessert. Avoid this place, it is no longer the family friendly Golf Course and Country Club that it once was. The way everyday customers as well as long time members are treated for their loyalty to the former Westchester Country Club is Absolutely Disgraceful, if I could leave less than one star then I would. The ownership is completely unperturbed with the fact that their guests, loyal golfers of the community, are unsatisfied with the changes. The waitstaff is incredibly rude and unaware of the beverages they have to serve, don't expect any bar snacks, you will be treated with a small bag of Kosher chips, or Kosher Olives, because that is what we want to snack on with our post-round beers. Also don't expect to be able to watch any golf related television inside the "High End Steakhouse," (the quotations denote sarcasm as i believe the newly renovated restaurant moreso resembles a shoddy White Plains, NY nightclub.) Instead you will be treated with some sort of electronic music that is too deafening to even hold a simple conversation, OR if you are lucky there is a TV in the restaurant that only shows the startup reel from a Google Chromecast. The ownership group looks upon its few remaining patrons almost like they are an inconvenience, there is no attempt from the new owners to engage with their loyal group of members and regular customers. I really miss the days where you could roll up, play a round of golf and hang around on the patio, where you were served with a smile, instead I needed to labor over an incredibly oversaturated menu of extremely high priced dinner items, not what you want to dine on after golfing in 95 degree heat with the Florida humidity. As an aside, it seems that the new owners have forced out some of the most knowledgeable, friendly and best hospitality workers I have had the pleasure of meeting. The former staff has been replaced with what seems to me, individuals who want nothing to do with serving customers. My final thoughts: Westchester Country Club was a perfect golf course and restaurant, somewhere you could play a round of golf on a high quality track, grab a hot dog, or a bacon-egg and cheese, and enjoy the sub-hundred dollar round. What this place is turning into is a perfect example of a robber baron with zero expertise, coming in and ruining what was once a great place to escape the monotony of everyday life, or if you're retired, a perfect place to call home. I hope one day we see improvement but i may be too optimistic. read more
