Finally decided to check this place out after driving by it for long time. So happy we did! It was not at all what I was expecting. It was better! We sat at the bar to eat dinner. Maggie, the bartender, was super helpful, giving us some history of the place. She also makes some very tasty cocktails. The food was delicious. We stopped by Sweetwater for drinks and dinner. Walking in, it felt like we had stepped back in time to a secret speakeasy. The dark wood, old-fashioned lighting and walls full of "liquid gold" spirits was warm and welcoming. The staff was very friendly and ready to create a great dining experience for us. We were hoping for a robust happy hour menu and were a bit disappointed to see that there were no food specials and only a handful of happy hour cocktails. We decided to try a couple of those: a spicy margarita and the Berry Bramble, which consisted of vodka and berry puree. Even though my friend requested a lower level of spiciness for the margarita, it was still too spicy for her. The Berry Bramble, while flavorful, did not have much alcohol and seemed watered down with a lot of ice. I wouldn't order this again. Several of the numerous cocktails on the drink menu looked good though. We created a tapas-style dinner by sharing a few items from the menu: - Ceasar salad with an unusual and delicious sun dried tomato dressing - BLT flatbread with baby tomatoes, candied bacon pieces, and arugula with a nice garlic aioli drizzle. This was a tasty item albeit somewhat expensive at $26. - Jamaican oxtail eggrolls with a side of au jus and a spicy sauce. A delightfully interesting flavor combo with a nice exterior crunch and a creamy meat center! - Lollipop chicken, which are chicken wings with part of the bone stripped clean to cleverly create a lollipop look. This dish comes with a side of creamy blue cheese dip. Beware: the sauce on the chicken is essentially a spicy buffalo sauce, even though the menu does not mention this. We enjoyed the chicken and commented to the server that the menu should have indicated it was a spicy item. - Hand-pulled wedge of mozzarella with tomatoes, toast, olive tapenade, and a roasted garlic. It was an enjoyable dish as we could mix and match the components in varying quantities based on each person's tastes. This is a good item for sharing. Overall, we had an enjoyable meal with a wide-range of interesting and tasty dishes in a fun setting. read more

Love this spot, it's a gem to boynton beach. Inside has dim lights with a prohibition vibe. Any whiskey or bourbon you could request is probably inside there. So many bottles they have shelves going around the entire interior. Can be pricey but the quality is there. In today's world of mediocre service and cuisine you'll know every time you'll get what you pay for here. I love the cauliflower hush puppies, the Korean tacos and poke tacos when they have them. When choosing a place to meet for dinner & drinks with a friend, we decided on Sweetwater as it was halfway between where we both live! She had gone before and had done a private curated cocktail experience, so she went online and made a reservation for the same thing! This sounded very exciting! However, when we got there, to our surprise... they no longer offer this experience because the person who did it was no longer with the restaurant. The link to make this reservation should be removed or at least notify someone so that they reach out and let us know!! So now we are at the restaurant, with no "real" reservation and we were told we had to wait the normal wait list time - which didn't seem fair at all. The only reason that I am not leaving a negative review is because after all of this confusion and disappointment, we were able to get served pretty quickly and everything was really great, and all thanks to our incredible server, who I unfortunately can't remember her name! :( We went to the bar in the back, ordered a couple of cocktails and we sat at high top table next to the bar. The drinks were brought over to us, and our lovely server came over and got us taken care of right away!! Drinks - We ordered the Spanish Inquisition and Death & Taxes - DELICIOUS. We may have ordered a couple more of each. Food - We started off with the Cordon Bleu Empanadas. These were incredible!! What a hidden gem! I'm not from Boynton area so when my friend recommended Sweetwater I was sort of skeptical. As soon as we entered I knew we were greeted by such a friendly atmosphere. For food you can definitely do tapas style if you have a few people in your group. We got the baked brie, short rib gnocchi, scallions pancakes, Brussels sprouts, and poke tacos. Our favorites were the gnocchi and pancakes! Everything else was super tasty and satisfying as well. But that's personal preference. I loved the honey goat cheese though. We finished all of it. And the brussel sprouts were super yum as well. The birria short rib flatbread was good too.
