Looking for a late night bite, we met family here and sat in the main dining room next to the crazy busy bar. Seems like a pick up spot for twenty-something people but soon realized that the bar action was second to the food. The server had a vibrant personality and told us the burgers were the specialty of the place. The smash cheese burger was on my table within ten minutes and was small but packed lots of flavor with gooey cheese. The sweet potato fries were plentiful and delish. My pet peeve is when restaurants serve a burger with a cold piece of cheese on top, not the case here. Others at the table got the regular burgers which were larger but not as flavorful. Stopped by The Office in Downtown Delray for happy hour and had a great experience overall! They have a large menu with plenty of options, so there's something for everyone. Parking can be a little tricky with limited street parking, but the parking garage is an easy option and just a short walk away. The food was good! I ordered the Angry Cauliflower and was expecting it to be spicy because of the name, but it leaned more sweet than sweet chili. Still tasty, just not what I anticipated. For drinks, I tried the mango daiquiri. It was refreshing, but a bit more icy than mango-y, and I definitely would've appreciated a bigger straw . The only downside was that it got a little warm inside since they had the side opened up for the bar seating during happy hour. Stopped into The Office on a busy Friday around 5 pm and honestly had a great time. Even with how packed it was, we managed to grab two seats at the bar without any hassle, which already set the tone for a good night. This place definitely stays busy and clearly for good reason, they run it right. There's a ton of staff, so you never feel stuck waiting for a drink or service. It was raining so hard outside and we were able to get a nice table indoors right by the TV so we could watch college football. I highly recommend Granny's Pancakes. The espresso martini was delicious! I hold these in high regard, and this was top caliber. The big question was not going to be the drinks, but the food -- we had planned on tacos but were initially going somewhere else (but it was a Friday so everything was packed). Came in here for my second experience, this one was Labor Day! They had a specialty menu with specialty cocktails, in addition to their regular menu. We came here for a night cap, and picked the white chocolate special martini they rolled out that day. I had the espresso martini. We sat at the bar and to our surprise, showed up during Happy Hour on a Sunday at 6pm! There was lots more sipping with a cold Office Lager and a patron pineapple. Both of us went with the Office Burger -- all natural beef, aged white cheddar, office sauce, lettuce, thickly slice tomatoes, onion, pickles served with hand-cut fries that go great with the secret office sauce. This was a delicious burger experience that is now on my Top 5 of best local burgers. It was a harmonious burger, 100% delicious, in all of it's elements. I wanted to give a 3, but due to the food taste and manager response, I gave 4 stars. The waiter unfortunately was a mess. My dad asked for iced tea and the waiter brought two. We asked why there were two and he said they were out of the correct glass. He charged for two at the end of the night, even though it is free refills. Our friend ordered the burger with sweet potato fries. She very much enjoyed the dish. My mother had the burger with regular fries and enjoyed the dish, in spite of the fries being cold. I ordered the salmon salad and it was very good. My father ordered the mahi sandwich with a Cesar salad as the side. When the bill came, we were charged $6 extra for the Cesar and $6 extra for the sweet potato fries. The waiter never mentioned those were extra charges. When my dad questioned the bill at the end, he said the iced tea was his fault and would take it off. In regard to the extra side charges, he said he assumed we knew on the menu and did we read the menu. That's when we asked for the manager. Britney was fantastic. She apologized and let us know that he absolutely should have told us they were extra charges and she took it off the bill. She was pleasant and helpful. Overall the food was very good, service was poor but will hopefully improve. I would give it a second chance. read more
