Everything touches the wood fire grill (almost). This place tops my list for new restaurants in South Florida. Don't sleep on Boynton Beach - cocktail bar vibe, hiding in plain site in a strip mall... this gem is chef inspired and simply amazing. We tried the wood fired asparagus served on toast with a gooey egg and then the pork belly grilled baby bok choy and both had me in the happy chair dance. Although steak definitely makes sense with a wood fire concept, instead we tried the lamb rack served with a mint sauce combo that has you cleaning the plate and local pompano served curry lite with wild mushroom (delish)! If you are a foodie make your way here. This was a spot where one (or is it just me) considers maybe we order everything to try? And we left the fun for another time. I have my eye on their spiced lamb bolognese and another amazing cocktail. The cocktails are mostly milk fat clarified which adds yet another fun twist to a new fav spot! We had another great dinner at Second Rodeo. We sat at the bar again and watched the food-prep action unfolding in front of us and sat across from the wood bbq. It's like sitting next to a warming fire. This time we tried the grilled asparagus, the grilled baby bok choy with pork belly and gorgonzola (our favorite), the luncheonette burger with crispy fries, the double cut pork chop with grilled cabbage and pickled mustard seed, and the waygu lamb (I know, a lot of food!). Everything was fantastic but the burger initially came out a bit undercooked (we ordered it medium) so they cooked it a bit more and quickly brought it back. I thought the lamb wagyu was a bit light on the meat, the pork chop was amble and laid out nicely on the plate. We also tried the watermelon tequila drink (very refreshing and not too sweet), an old fashioned, and they have a good list of wines. We love the big cube in cocktails. I don't know how they got them to be so clear. The bar tender was great and the cooks were working very hard. The owner always comes by to say hello and chat. Second Rodeo varies the menu. read more

We've had breakfast and dinner at second rodeo and both are great meals. They have a small menu but it's really well done. The place has a very intimate space and the servers are really nice. They also make great craft cocktails. read more

The service was amazing. John the bartender is super friendly and knowledgeable. The Old Fashioned with That Tea is a game changer! Katie was also wonderful. Knowledgeable about the menu and great personality. We started with Pesto alla Genovese and a crab cake. Both were yummy. I ordered the Hangar Steak and my hubby got the burger. The rodeo sauce was amazing. I was dipping my steak and French fries in it! The fries which are cooked in beef tallow were incredible!!! My friends enjoyed their steak tartare and they also loved the burger. It's not a cheap meal but I highly recommend it. Walked in the other night and was immediately impressed with the design and layout of this bar. Thinking to myself damn this is nice! This could be my new spot since I just moved here. Horrible death metal music comes on and the erratic bartender tried to take the order and then walks away. He comes back to take the order and as we start telling him he says our order sucks and to hurry the fuck up. We thought he was joking but quickly realized he wasnt. His tone was naaaasty. Local, speakeasy-vibe bar in an unassuming plaza on Ocean Ave... you wouldn't know it was there unless you were looking for it. We popped in for a last drink of the night and were lucky to snag on of only three coveted two tops. The cocktails were... craft; made with high quality ingredients and artfully done by the skilled mixologists behind the bar. We didn't stay for dinner, so can't comment on the food. My only hesitation in 5 stars is that it does seem a tad overpriced for the area. We love when quality establishments come local and know that comes with a cost, but will save our visits for special occasions. read more

The staff here is always friendly and personable. They feel more like friends and acquaintances than strangers. The food is solid, especially the late-night menu. The decor is pretty rad, and you feel like you've been teleported to Santa Fe or something. The whole establishment makes great use of its space, and it's definitely a bit of a hidden gem in the area. Five words. Absolute hole in the wall. From walking inside; to the experience itself. It's insane more people aren't talking about it! I had no expectations. My friend told me their burger was a hit, so I came to see it for myself. John was taking care of me and my friend at the bar. The cocktail menu is a real pleasure to read through from a tequila forward bar to frozen drinks there's not a single cocktail that looks just thrown on there. In honor of Cowboy Bebop I first tried the Space Cowboy, which is kinda what it sounds like; out of this world. Passion fruit, Mezcal with a subtle note of spice added from the Dijon in the drink. They chill it to perfect point of being a frozen drink which added some fun into their caliber. Balanced and yet bold. Bar top looked fun n deco. Believe it or not; it's a chill cafe during the day and a disco ball experience at night. From sun up to sun down there goal is to make it a great hangout for locals and anyone who wanders in. To start off I got the Foie Gras and grilled baby bok choy which both were done so well. The Foie Gras, on top of the presentation, danced on my tongue with a subtle Smoke flavor given from their wood fire grill and a nice nuttiness from the peanut whip they paired it with. The pork belly bok choy had a perfect crunch from the green, and the pork belly just came in like big brother and added a dynamic of softness from the fat that you just can't beat. I landed on choosing their blood orange & ginger mocktail while I waited for my burger. Ginger candy cold foam was phenomenal. Unexpected 10/10. The burger though I'd say was a nice cherry on top that needed no introduction. My friend certainly delivered on a good burger joint. Wonderful sauce and beautiful char. Lastly I had the cookies n cream which is made fresh to order. Biscoff butter ice cream and cc cookie was certainly the best way to end off this evening. The goal of course with any menu is to not be a gloater but a shower and they have certainly done just that. You'll never know by outside looks alone until you try it but this place is a wallflower and an amazing time. Good job to the kitchen staff there and excellent job to whoever designed this experience. You made somebody's night. read more

I"m not giving this place 5 stars solely based on prices. The food is always good. The vibe is always fun. But the bill is ALWAYS so high. The portions are small to normal in size which is fine. Cocktail prices are also high and seem to have very small - if any - amounts of alcohol in them. They are so flavorful but you sill miss the booze! And the cookies and ice cream are to die for but $13 for 2 SMALL cookies and a shot glass of ice cream is crazy. read more

The only reason I'm getting this place for stars instead of five is because there's not enough seating and feels a little cramped. All that seating aside, it hits every point. The pastw a la vodka is the best pasta dish I've had in my 11 years in South Florida. It has a wholesome, kitchen Roadhouse behind with the most multifaceted Kitchen and bar I've seen on land. Beer selection is diverse enough. But you want to get the Coors original. Cocktail menu is on point. The tequila selection is made for tequila drinkers who know tequila so kudos whoever did that. You get hipster vibes and a very attentive bartender who is sweet knowledgeable. Really good food cooked in an open-air kitchen that is right up in your face that includes a wood burning grill. Late night menu is pretty excellent too. I had the Mortadella sandwich. Something I would never order whilst sober. It's hard to find but I found it on my third try on a motorcycle. The team from Sweetwater crushed it again!! As much as I would love to keep this my dirty little secret. It is just too good not to share. Only a week since the door has opened and already filled with regulars regulars and familiar faces. With a cozy bar, a few hightop tables and two banquettes in the front, the atmosphere is very intimate yet lively. This place is giving great music. Great vibes, sexiness, and enhanced cuisine...all the things! The simplistic yet super creative menu offer seasonal as well as monthly selections, craft cocktails, and great wines. The quaint bar is shared with an open kitchen so we got to see the artfully designed (and incredibly delicious!) plates made right in front of us. After my first review, which was very well, I just wanna update dis review First it took approximately 15 to 20 minutes to get the bartender to acknowledge us and get us a drink no big deal. I understand that she was very busy running the whole bar. We then proceeded to order dinner in an appetizer well appetizer never showed up. I ordered a hamburger and my wife ordered a steak well my hamburger was delivered within three minutes and I after 25 minutes we still not had our steak delivered was told that they were still cooking it so now I'm sitting with a cold burger, and my wife with no dinner I ordered a second hamburger that was delivered. I put the first one in a box to go did not even ask for them to take it off the bill and still no steak .The kitchen has no clue what they're doing or how to run it. I get it.and still no steak Del. I get its mot a not a five star restaurant. It's a local bar, but at least serve two dinners at the same time. This would be my last time going to this place. read more
