We visited Malbec in Parkland on 441 around 8:30 PM. While we understand it was later in the evening and the staff may have been tired after a long shift, unfortunately the service affected our overall experience. There was a noticeable delay in getting the table properly set, and we had to wait for basic items such as forks. We ordered the parrillada for three people, but the sides were surprisingly small -- about half a dozen fries and a portion of mashed potatoes that did not seem enough even for one person. Our server was not rude, but the service felt slow and lacked warmth or enthusiasm. We completely understand that everyone can have a long or difficult day, especially in the restaurant industry, but this is also something management may want to pay attention to so that staffing, fatigue, or operational issues do not impact the quality of the atmosphere and the guest experience. We still left a 20% tip because we respect the work that restaurant staff do. I'm sharing this feedback not to criticize anyone personally, but because Malbec has the potential to provide a much better experience with a little more attention to service, table preparation, and portion consistency. read more

The restaurant is really pretty with an industrial look of cement walls and a huge wall of wine bottles that is really appealing. It is very loud, probably because of all the cement not really very romantic. They have great specials we ordered a meal for two which said to pick between Strip steaks or Cherasco steaks and you get a salad and two sides for 40$ They said you can only have one cook on the two steaks, the salad is between a house or Caesar, and the two sides are both carbs so you have a choice of mashed potatoes, rice or french fries fries. When we got the steaks, we were surprised that the plate had chicken sausage and blood sausage on it as well. We weren't aware of that. It was a lot of food. We chose the strip steaks and honestly, they didn't have a lot of flavor. The service was OK. Our server was really nice but he forgot to offer us any drinks so we just drank water if he would've asked us if we wanted wine maybe we would've thought about looking.. he was busy and couldn't get to us very often but like I said, he was very nice. I'm glad we went there, but I don't think it would be my first choice for a nice date night. read more

My husband and I came here because they offer a really great dinner special Monday-Wednesday. For $40 you get an appetizer, two entrees, and a dessert. Additionally on Monday's they have 1/2 off wine bottles. The restaurant itself is great for date night. They have phenomenal service with the loveliest waiters and servers. The food needs work. The meatballs have more breadcrumbs than I'd prefer. While the steaks were cooked perfectly, they had zero flavor. Same with the French fries and mashed potatoes. I also believe that the potatoes may have sat too long in the boiling water as they were very watery and bland. Thankfully, they make a delicious chimichurri so we were able to use that to accompany our steaks. The cheesecake was okay. So after reading all these mixed reviews we didn't know what to expect. But they say you need to see it for yourself and we are glad we did. The house salad was excellent with feta cheese we did the $40 Mon - Wed special for two. We ordered 2 glasses of the house Malbec which paired perfectly with our meal. We both had the churrasco which was excellent. We added a side order of the Argentinian sausage which was excellent. The steak comes with delicious mashed potatoes and we finished our meal with the Tiramisu. Our server Ryan was friendly, helpful and attentive. Several Caveats: 1) There are no written menus. Only way to access the menu is to scan a QR code. I hate this. My suggestion review the menu on their website first. 2) Parking a real issue. We were lucky with a handicapped sticker. 3) Venue quite loud if full. Concrete walls, low ceiling. 4) The steaks on the Malbec platters were of low quality and arrived luke warm. I suspect they were precooked and waiting for an order. Having said all that the service helpful and friendly. Prices moderate. Not fine dining! I see no reason to return. This place was cute inside. The bar is right in the front and was very busy and loud. The actual dining room was quieter but still pretty busy for a Thursday evening. For drinks my partner tried a the Italian affair and some other cocktail. They ended up being very strong. I tried one of the wines from Argentina and it was great. The food was pretty good, although pretty bland. I asked for more of the chimmichuri that they gave with the bread to add to my steak, which helped. The fioccchi di pera was ok, I've had much better, so I wouldn't get it again. For dessert we tried the balcarce which was very good but very sweet. I recommend it if you want to try something authentic and different. We did wish it had more peaches as there was maybe one piece in ours. If we are ever in town again I would return. read more

Went for breakfast as that is their newest offering and we had two traditional Mexican breakfasts - huevos divorciado and chilakilies (spelling?) both were very flavorful and well prepared. I took a friend today and had the Malbec breakfast and the eggs were cooked perfectly and the link sausage very flavorful. Best part was the prices are so reasonable. I'll be going back more. I took some very picky ladies there for the lunch special and there wasn't one complaint. In fact, they loved it. They got Caesar salads and house salads and they were huge and very fresh. The lettuce in both was glistening and outstanding. The rolls were hot and freshly made and they enjoyed the chimichurri for dipping. My family and I visited Malbec Grill in Parkland, and while the food itself was good, the overall experience definitely fell short. When we first arrived, we had to wait over three minutes just to be acknowledged--despite being the only customers there. A heavyset man with glasses sat in the corner watching us, and only approached after my husband asked the kitchen staff if we could sit down. His first question was whether we wanted to sit at the bar... even though I was literally holding my one-year-old. The menu looked great, so we ordered a ribeye, a steak salad, a kids grilled chicken meal with fries, an espresso martini, and a cucumber martini. We were also supposed to get a kids apple juice that never arrived. One of my biggest pet peeves happened when the server placed a hot plate of mashed potatoes directly in front of my toddler--even though the dish was for my husband on the opposite side of the table. Common sense should prevent servers from putting hot items near small children, especially when the table layout clearly shows who ordered what. When the drinks came, they looked nothing like the photos on the menu, which was disappointing because I wanted to get content for Instagram. But to be fair, the drinks themselves were delicious. My husband ordered his ribeye well-done (which I tell him not to do!), and it definitely came out well-done--it was charred to the point we had to laugh about it. Oddly enough, both of our meals came out before my son's chicken and fries, which are usually the quickest items to prepare. Throughout the meal, I had to ask for our used plates to be cleared because they were piling up. Now, to be fair, it was a chilly evening outside, so maybe the restaurant was just leaning into the full seasonal experience. Very immersive.
