This is a tale of two restaurants. Restaurant #1 has great salads, steaks, drinks, and service as far as getting your main dishes and keeping the tables cleared. Restaurant #2 has mediocre appetizers, e.g., dry meatballs and overcooked shrimp and calamari, along with very slow service regarding getting drinks and dessert. In the interest of reconciling these two restaurants, I think four stars is a fair rating. Malbec Grill is worth a visit and, if it weren't a 40-minute drive, we would go back. read more

My husband and I came here because they offer a really great dinner special Monday-Wednesday. For $40 you get an appetizer, two entrees, and a dessert. Additionally on Monday's they have 1/2 off wine bottles. The restaurant itself is great for date night. They have phenomenal service with the loveliest waiters and servers. The food needs work. The meatballs have more breadcrumbs than I'd prefer. While the steaks were cooked perfectly, they had zero flavor. Same with the French fries and mashed potatoes. I also believe that the potatoes may have sat too long in the boiling water as they were very watery and bland. Thankfully, they make a delicious chimichurri so we were able to use that to accompany our steaks. The cheesecake was okay. This place was cute inside. The bar is right in the front and was very busy and loud. The actual dining room was quieter but still pretty busy for a Thursday evening. For drinks my partner tried a the Italian affair and some other cocktail. They ended up being very strong. I tried one of the wines from Argentina and it was great. The food was pretty good, although pretty bland. I asked for more of the chimmichuri that they gave with the bread to add to my steak, which helped. The fioccchi di pera was ok, I've had much better, so I wouldn't get it again. For dessert we tried the balcarce which was very good but very sweet. I recommend it if you want to try something authentic and different. We did wish it had more peaches as there was maybe one piece in ours. If we are ever in town again I would return. read more

My family and I visited Malbec Grill in Parkland, and while the food itself was good, the overall experience definitely fell short. When we first arrived, we had to wait over three minutes just to be acknowledged--despite being the only customers there. A heavyset man with glasses sat in the corner watching us, and only approached after my husband asked the kitchen staff if we could sit down. His first question was whether we wanted to sit at the bar... even though I was literally holding my one-year-old. The menu looked great, so we ordered a ribeye, a steak salad, a kids grilled chicken meal with fries, an espresso martini, and a cucumber martini. We were also supposed to get a kids apple juice that never arrived. One of my biggest pet peeves happened when the server placed a hot plate of mashed potatoes directly in front of my toddler--even though the dish was for my husband on the opposite side of the table. Common sense should prevent servers from putting hot items near small children, especially when the table layout clearly shows who ordered what. When the drinks came, they looked nothing like the photos on the menu, which was disappointing because I wanted to get content for Instagram. But to be fair, the drinks themselves were delicious. My husband ordered his ribeye well-done (which I tell him not to do!), and it definitely came out well-done--it was charred to the point we had to laugh about it. Oddly enough, both of our meals came out before my son's chicken and fries, which are usually the quickest items to prepare. Throughout the meal, I had to ask for our used plates to be cleared because they were piling up. It was very noisy, the food was mediocre, and the service left a lot to be desired. We ordered a Garden Salad which, much to our surprise, came with Feta cheese, which was not mentioned on the menu, and the server would not take it back. The shrimp scampi was not garlicky and was full of cream. The best thing that we had was the chocolate mousse. We asked for a manager to come to our table, but no one did. It was very chewy. The fries look like dehydrated, garbage worse than a fast food restaurant and I can't believe I paid $30 for it and it came from a high-end restaurant supposedly. The staff there is always understaffed barely speak English. Nobody knows what to do. They never have to go utensils, they always forget to put the sauce that I'm ordering and I don't think I'm gonna go anymore because they handed me the order as if I paid already, I insisted on paying. Last minute work dinner and it did not disappoint. This would be my 4th visit, first two were for Christmas parties, one date night and this evenings work meal. Every visit has been wonderful but tonight just had a little extra kick. It was quiet for a Thursday evening but that didn't stop the kitchen from getting the job done. I started with the margarita and opted for no salt foam, super delish and presentation was A1. For the appetizer I ordered empanadas, one onion & cheese and one chicken. Our sweet waiter welcomed the table with warm bread and butter, also comes with a bowl of chimichurri. For entrees due to the rain the daily meat delivery had not made it, normally I'd go for the filet but this evening switched it up to a NY strip. Even with the crazy rain this week has brought us I was delighted to arrive at dinner to the most beautiful rainbow. My colleagues and I enjoyed the view on our way in and the atmosphere was the cherry on top of our day. Good conversation and not too loud, warm food and quality service. In short: A local steakhouse serving unique drinks and exceptional meats I came here on a Friday night after having them booked marked for some time . They are tucked away in a sleepy Parkland plaza and there's a huge cow statue storefront so you know exactly what you getting into (Vegetarians, Vegans, and the non-beef collective should avoid lol). Ambiance: dimly lit and definitely has a romantic feel. Each table has a candle and a red rose. Very nice touch. Walking in was a bit confusing because I didn't see a specific hostess stand. The bar (which was empty mostly) is directly near the entrance. It's an open kitchen concept , which I like. It shows that they are transparent with how they handle food. The dining area is open as well, I commented to my companion that it actually had a Macaroni Grill feel to it. The menus are viewable by scanning a QR code on the table (which I don't like and is tacky at this price point, this isn't Outback, but this is subjective) or you can have a tablet with a viewable menu. They have a nice selection of wines, cocktails and are known for their signature drinks. I'm a sucker for a good food/drink show so I ordered their smoked speciality called the pink dream. The bartender came out and put on a dope show. The pink dream was as scrumptious as it looks. 10 out of 10 would order it again. The house rolls are yummy and come with chimichurri sauce for dipping...very good. Appetizers: we ordered the two empanadas and the grilled provoleta cheese. We got one chicken and one beef empanada. They were just okay... I've had worse but I also have had way better. But the provoleta!!!! Oh my!!! It was amazing... it can be eaten with bread or just as easily alone. I would order this again and again! With dinner I did order a Malbec to go along with my steak. The server gave me an excellent house Malbec and it paired nicely. Mains: This steakhouse is influenced by the Argentinian and Latin American cuisine so I could not leave without ordering the Picanha. We ordered it medium rare and it was perfect. My companion ordered the rack of lamb, I tried a small bite and that was perfect. He inhaled his .. haha. Each plate comes with a side, we got onion rings and the broccolini. The broccolini was cooked perfect and not overdone. All and all it was a good experience with good service. I took one star because I believe the empanadas could've been better, I don't like the scannable menus, and the server brought us our containers to box our own leftovers. Which I understand some ppl prefer to do this themselves but I think it shows quality service. I worked in corporate Italian (yes it was macaroni grill) in my college days and I would do it table side for my guests. It's not a huge deal but if management would like their restaurant to bring more of an experience this is something to think about. Wow. This was an anniversary dinner and with no reservations we wanted to sit by the bar. The bar was full and the emidatly escorted us to a small table. We started off with the calamari and it was excellent, not too much breading. My wife had the salmon now I would say it did not come out like she wanted but the water and staff rushed to make it the way she liked. The atmosphere so perfect . so I love this restaurant so for my recent Birthday that was where I wanted to go. We arrive on time and am told that they need to set up the table so we finally get to our table I notice that usually have a table cloth and linen napkins but now no table cloth and paper napkins and no menu's anymore....so we set and wait for at least 15 minutes so i ask a busboy to please have a server come to our table no server but the busboy brings us bread and dipping sauce, still no server finally he comes gives us water and before he can leave we order drinks and appetizer's because we do not know if he will come back..so our drinks come and the drink my friend ordered was cucumber basal martini no cucumber we ask oh he was too busy now the meal guys want 6 oz steaks no only have 8 oz..ok wanted linguini with scallops guess what NO scallops so had to have chicken . It was so loud we could not talk without screaming so there was so much wrong..so we are doing dessert our favorite is the one with peach's guess what DO NOT HAVE!! so we want the manager he comes guess he is new owner only there days.....SO MALBEC IS BAD AND I WAS EMBARRASED I ASK TO GO THERE!!!!!
