It was a small cornbread skillet topped with strawberries, blueberries, granola, and maple syrup. It looked great, but I felt it wasn't worth the price; a sandwich might have been a better choice, but the staff had recommended this. We also had a small misunderstanding where I was charged for both dishes as we discussed options, but the staff were prompt in correcting it and issuing a refund. Great local coffee spot with delicious breakfast and coffee options. They have plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor. You pay upfront and then take a seat. They bring your food to you. And they do not have small takeaway cups for the sauces. Either put the hot sauce and ketchup and whatever on yourstuff before leaving or go next door to Publix and buy something! They also have a nice little sitting area outside but with this Florida heat you might want to sit inside. I bring my kids here whenever they're in town and they love it. Overall I really liked Carmela. The smoked salmon Avocado toast was a favorite of mine! I also liked the grilled chicken sandwich and the Nutella croissant which was so flaky and delicious. I want necessarily a fan of the chicken salad toast, while I really like the arugula on the toast I didn't like the chicken salad. I felt there was more mayo and Avacado vs chicken. We tried this place for the first time for brunch. It was packed so be prepared to wait a bit for seating. They have limited seating inside and outside. The ambiance is nice though and it's decorated well. We ordered the breakfast sandwich, avocado and egg toast, chicken shakushka, arugula avocado Parmesan toast, chicken and beef empanadas, and some coffee. Everything tasted fresh and good. We are new to the area and have visited about 3x so far. We really enjoy the outside area so our toddler can have some space to walk around if needed however, the birds are a little intrusive. My daughter is a very picky eater, but absolutely loves the blueberry muffins. The croissants are also excellent. I really enjoy the Matcha and my husband likes the cold brew however I recently tried the tiramisu latte and was a little disappointed. It mostly tasted like a mocha coffee or latte. My first visit was on a Saturday at 11:30 AM. The place was nicely decorated and clean. The line of customers quickly expanded to the door. I had plenty of time to observe the staff. There was only one person taking orders so there was a long wait. Other staff members looked for tables to clean and chairs to push in while others meandered around while the line grew. I sat outside with a large group and there was a 4 top nearby. When servers came out with food, they murmured the order's names again and again without speaking LOUDER. I asked Google to take me to a coffeehouse that was on my way to my girlfriend's house, and it took me to Carmela Coffee Company. I had never heard of it and had no idea what a big deal this place is! When I walked in, the line was nearly out the door. The place is super-hip with lots of different kinds of seating. Located in Parkland this cute coffee and breakfast/lunch shop is super cute with cozy areas to catch up, study, or get work done! They have a few different customizable options for your coffee from different milks to flavors (regular and sugar free). The latte I got tasted good but I did go home and add a couple extra shots of espresso and it was quite milk forward. I did get a free cookie for doing a Yelp review and it was good but perhaps a little stale due to being later in the day. I also personally prefer my cookies a little softer or chewier. They also have smoothies, tea, and various grab and go drinks in a cooler. I came in this time just for a quick afternoon pick me up. Service was quick and friendly. I've eaten in before and the food was yummy. It can get very, very busy during expected rush times so plan accordingly. Looking forward to returning next time I'm in the area. read more

I'm so happy for the Carmela Coffee family!! They have expanded and blessed other areas with their great eats and drinks! I was here at the Parkland site the first day they opened. Now look at them! There is plenty of parking. You can either meet a friend or two, or just bring a book and sit back and relax in this cozy place. You order at the front, and then they will give you a table placement so they know where you are to bring your order to you. They have indoor and outdoor seating for you to choose from. Also, Publix is next door so once you are done relaxing you can pop over to complete your grocery list. The have several locations so check out if one is near you. If not, I will see you in Parkland! I have been going here on and off for months, but recently everyday I switched jobs. I typically order a matcha latte with oat milk and lavender. This time I got to my car and it was white, with 2 green drops in the middle. I went back into the store and showed the cashier (the big guy with the mustache) he said very rudely that's the latte. You can mix it, I walked to the side to get the stirrer and mixed it, still very white. I asked him if they can make it over, he said no. They can add more matcha. The barista told him something in Spanish and he took the drink and threw it in the small sink over her hands and walked away. She did make it over. This spoiled my entire morning, who wants to get a crafted pick me upper drink for almost $10, made incorrectly with a side of bad attitude. Never again! read more

Starbucks has nothing on this place. I'm glad people aren't afraid to still open up coffee shops, because the competition seems like failing right from the start. This place is tucked away in a shopping center, that I honestly wouldn't give it a 2nd thought if it wasn't for yelp. I love the feel of this place; between the ambience and music. They have a black board if you want to draw on it and the furniture looks like it came from a farm house. Very cute and homey. The menu of food items looked very appetizing and had a tough choice deciding. In the end I ordered a salad with arugula, prosciutto tomatoes and mozzarella balls. It was absolutely delicious and I recommend ordering it. My caramel ice coffee tasted like your typical coffee. The way it should be. I ordered an iced coffee with almond milk and vanilla flavored, the coffee was bitter. Awful, when I asked to exchange it because I only took a sip, the guy at the cashier said no. So I ended up throwing it away and ordering a vanilla latte with oat milk and it was delicious. Then, I ordered an empanada. I asked him what was in them, where he replied just meat and I said ok and ordered the beef. As soon as I bit into it, there was an olive, I don't eat olives so that's why I asked.
