Layla was great. She provided great customer was very kind. We ordered the Margarita pizza and it was nothing out of this world. Next time I want to order the croissant sandwich. I absolutely loved the flight of affogato. Love the chocolate, vanilla, and cheesecake ice cream with it. The restaurant is very cute and there is free parking in the plaza. They have complimentary cucumber water which was very hydrating. Overall the experience was great. read more

Layla was the associate that took my family order and she was super sweet and knew the menu when I asked for suggestions. I ordered the affogato flight and you get to choose out of four type of ice cream with your double espresso. I choose the vanilla, pistachio and the chocolate. I was able to get syrup on top but I just asked for the cookie crumbs. I found this affogato super delicious but my least favorite flavor was the pistachio. My twin sister order the flight the same as mine and instead of getting the chocolate ice cream she chose the cheesecake which I found delicious as well. As for food I shared the margarita flatbread and the chicken and waffle with my twin sister. My sister and I really liked the chicken and waffle but we didn't like the margarita flatbread, it was nothing special. However, we really liked this cafe and we will definitely be back. The parking is free and near the coffee shop. read more

This place has all the vibes. Came for a pick me up -- coffee. Ended up getting the Pistachio Affogato. It was spectacular. Literally melted in my seat. Spoonful after spoonful I was catapulted into a distant memory of childhood (especially with the Christmas music playing overhead). Pistachio ice cream with powdered pistachio crumbles, with a pistachio crème/paste rimmed along the inside/outside of the glass, with chocolate drizzle surprises all over. Truly a delightful afternoon cafe experience. The inside is stunning, giving all the cozy vibes. The staff was very friendly. Would love to come back here to try some of the food. But today was just about the coffee ;) read more

Great experience overall! I was really excited to try this new spot, and it did not disappoint. We were greeted right away by friendly staff who took the time to chat with us. At the front, they have a selection of adorable house made pastries and baked goods. They have a unique flattened croissant/cookie that is warm & delicious. The menu offers a nice variety of sandwiches, coffees, omelets, flatbreads, and snacks. The atmosphere is chic and posh. I especially loved the green couch (pictured). It's a perfect place for coffee dates, breakfast or lunch, or even getting some "work from home" time in. read more

It's 4 am and I'm wired and wide awake. Suffice it to say that my iced coffee was NOT decaf as it was supposed to be. But let me start at the beginning. We've been to this shopping center to many of the businesses and restaurants over the years. So we were familiar with the area. After seeing Daren R's review, we'd bookmarked this location. The place has been open less than a year. According to one of the servers, this is the company's first location in Florida, but there are several open or soon to be open franchises in New York. The shopping center is quite popular and was busy during lunchtime. We were able to find a parking spot not too far of a walk away. We came inside and saw that there was an area to line up in to order. However, we couldn't see the menu on the wall above the counter, so we moved to the middle area -- along with four other people to read what they had to offer ... then got back in line as they did, as well. The gal at the register was a trainee and had to stop and ask someone about several things as we were trying to order. She told me the only decaf coffee they had was "regular", so I ordered an iced decaf regular, 12 ounce. I ordered a salad. My husband ordered an iced chai latte, 16 ounce, and an open faced sandwich. We paid and were given a number to place on the table. It took about fifteen minutes to get our food and drinks. The drinks came first. They were the same size even though I'd gotten a small. My cup was marked Americano, decaf, and was full to the brim. I got up and got some more ice in another cup so I had room to add sweetener and half n half (they had cream and half n half at the self serve area). The coffee was dark and strong, so I added a liberal amount of both. My salad was their signature one -- except I got it without arugula and onions. It would have been nice to have had another lettuce option. It had bacon, turkey, cucumber, tomato, and a hard boiled egg. Everything was fresh and nicely arranged. They'd forgotten to give me the croutons and the salad dressing that came with my salad. I went back up to the counter to get these. My husband liked his iced chai latte. His open faced tuna salad was okay. It came with a side of arugula and some dressing. Now that Modern Rose is no longer in the same center, they'll probably do well here. I just wish Pilar was less institutional and had a bit more warmth and personality. But I 'm glad we came to try them out. Now we know. read more

Lunch today at a bright shiny new spot where we used to visit Modern Rose and several spots for lunches and dinners. We got in line to order but couldn't read the menu board that was off to the left and could not find any paper menus to select from. After getting out of line and walking closer to the menu board, I was able to find something to try. The cashier apologized several times, stating she was training and had to step away several to ask other workers questions as we placed our rather simple orders. (Self, unsupervised training?) I ordered an open face tuna that came with a pinch of arugula salad and a mustard vinegrette. My 16oz Iced Chai Latte was good. read more

I loved the vibe, ambiance and server attentiveness. It's a great cafe to come for a lunch catch up with a friend or getting some work done. The food was good, however we found that early in the morning some of the breakfast items were sold out or not being sold. Everything looked great and came out at perfect temperature. I will say the coffee roast is not my favorite, I found it to be too dark & burnt tasting. However that is just my personal preference. read more

My friends and I had dinner close by and stopped in for dessert. While we were in line sampling the gelato flavors, a man behind us asked where we were from and said that he felt sorry for the rainy weather during our spring break vacation. He bought all 5 of our desserts before telling us he was the owner :) Super calm and cozy place, typical Florida prices but everything tasted great. Layla took amazing care of us as did her boss and we will definitely be back!!! read more

Awesome coffee shop! Beautiful inside with ample seating and outlets, I was able to hunker down and work remote for a few hours which was lovely. Don't be worried, there are plenty of seats and both people staying and there just for a quick visit so definitely good for everyone. My beverage and pastry were great and delivered quickly and they have a big menu. Service was excellent as well. Would certainly return to sit awhile or pick a drink up to go! Really hits on all the elements of a great coffee shop. read more

This is the second time I've been to this cafe. Right away, it has a cheerful, modern atmosphere. It was bustling at around midday when my friend and I met. The order taker was very friendly with a big smile. I ordered a garden omelet that came with some roasted potatoes and some mixed greens. It looked so pretty when it came out, that I didn't even want to eat it, however my hunger took over. It was quite tasty and a nice portion. I believe the price was around $11-12, which is fair. They have a jug of water that you can self-serve for yourself from. All in all, a nice place to go for coffee or light meal. Last time I went here, I just ordered a coffee, and it was good. read more

The atmosphere is welcoming, clean, and a great spot to relax or get some work done. The outdoor sitting area is nice. The menu is posted on top. They sell ice cream, sandwiches, coffees and breakfast stuff. I bought an almond croissant. It was around five dollars. It was good. My friend (also a Yelper) and I like to search and find hidden coffee shop gems. I noticed Pilar in The Cove Plaza area and we decided to give them a try. I was early and when I walked in I was welcomed to a very nice ambiance, even before looking at the menu. The interior has an assortment of various types of seating ranging from simple 2-4 seat tables, high top tables, plus some couches and sofa in one corner. Wide open spacing with bright and very unique lighting. The menu had various coffees and teas along with desserts and dubai chocolate. Didn't know much about dubai chocolate and lucky me; I was seated next to one of the owners, Joe along with Steve. Joe took the time to give me an explanation and offered me a taste. Excellent treat. Overall a great experience and a shout-out to Ana, the manager for an excellent service. read more

The location is great and the ambiance is nice. The coffee was fair, nothing special. However, I did not enjoy my food whatsoever. The omelette came out room temperature at best (so did my boyfriend's omelette) and didn't have much flavor. I needed to ask for salt and pepper, which I never add to my food at a restaurant. I know it's only been open a few months, so maybe I'll give it a second shot in hopes for improvements. read more

Pleasant experience at this brand new coffee and gelato spot in Deerfield Beach. The mix of fresh coffee aromas and custom churning gelato machines at the front counter definitely sets a welcoming vibe. The creamy texture in gelato is always a sign of quality and they've nailed the consistency, especially with flavors like Hazel Nut Choco Crunch - an absolute standout!. A well-made gelato should feel smooth and rich without being overly icy, and it seems like they've accomplished that. The bold and striking eight foot Pilar logo affixed to the wall near the front door really set the tone and gave the shop a sense of identity adding a lot of character to the space, especially as a focal point when you first walk in. Spencer, the barista, was the highlight as well, offering some personal guidance to complement my gelato with the perfect espresso. The atmosphere is really inviting, with plenty of comfortable seating options to help you unwind and enjoy your drink. The cozy sofas and chairs definitely set the tone for a laid-back experience, where you can savor your espresso without feeling rushed. While the newness of the staff led to a couple of minor serving errors, I'm confident they'll work those out as they settle in. Plus, the clean and stylish bathroom with its octagon tile flooring with the gray tiled walls was a nice touch. This shop has a lot of potential to become a local favorite. read more

Pilar Coffee Bar is undeniably beautiful inside--stylish, bright, and a really inviting place to sit. It's a nice spot to visit for the aesthetic, but not necessarily for value or standout flavors. read more

I stopped in here on a Sunday morning right when they opened at 7:30am. I had just come from watching the sun rise at the beach, and was the first customer. Clean and organized layout, the menu board above was well lit and easy to read and the girl who took my order was friendly & helpful with suggestions. I ordered the Biscoff Cookie Butter Iced Latte and a Breakfast Sandwich on Sourdough with ham instead of bacon. I dined in, and it didn't take them long to bring my order out to me. The latte was delicious but that breakfast sandwich with aioli was well beyond my expectations. If I lived closer I would definitely frequent this spot. read more

I've tried something different each time and everything has been delicious and carefully prepared. Tried a variety of breakfast sammies on one visit and they were so good forgot to take a pic. Each one came with a lovely green salad and (house?) dressing. Service is very pleasant and helpful. Vibe is retro chill yet menu is modern and well thought out. read more

Extremely disappointed in my experience here at Pilar. I came here before running to an appointment, it took us 15-20 minutes to get an espresso on ice and an iced pumpkin spice. Only one person ordered in front of us so there's no reason it should've taken that long. There were multiple people standing behind the counter doing nothing. My bf wanted syrup with his espresso but told him that's not possible?? Because there was no option to charge him. Also they never asked me if I wanted whip cream on my latte or not, I would've said no but I was so over waiting for my drink I just wanted to leave. I've had better service at Dunkin Donuts, people only come here for the ambiance read more

Reward program is still out its been weeks! they simply arent incentivized to care about customers... just bottom line.

We were so excited to try Pilar coffee bar. We went three different times so we can try something new. The first time we got their drinks. I got a cappuccino, and my husband and kids got their toasted marshmallow lattes. And they were all very good! We also got the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Stuffed Croissant and their empanada trio. The second time, my husband and I got the Biscoff Butter cookie Latte, hot version and their breakfast sandwich croissants. It was a to go order. And it was also very good! The third time, we got the Biscoff butter cookie latte cold and cappuccino. And I got the bacon egger & cheddar omelette, which was very bland in taste. The potatoes on the side had no seasoning at all. And the fourth time we went, we got their signature Dubai pistachio latte with their Dubai chocolate chip cookie and Dubai Stuffed Pistachio Croissant, . Was very delicious! 10/10 recommend! The ambiance is very nice! It wasn't busy at first, but then started to pick up. The fourth time we went, our order got messed up a little, but they were very quick to fix everything. read more

I saw this place all over social media and I definitely had to give it a try. I want to start off with all the positives. The place was very clean, bright and had plenty of seating. The staff was attentive and nice, even offering a sample of their gelato which was delicious btw! I enjoyed the cookie croissant which was a 10/10 and I really liked the breakfast tacos specifically the chicken hot honey one. The pancake had a nice cinnamon flavor to it. Everything else I tried was very underwhelming. For the entree I got the omelete and it was not flavorful, it tasted like the eggs you get for breakfast at a hotel. I received the wrong coffee, I decided to still try it because I figured I'd like it because I'm not too picky. It was extremely sweet and not for me. They were nice enough to let me get the hibiscus tea instead and I enjoyed how tarte that was. Overall, I would come back for pastries (cookie croissant) and or some gelato. The breakfast is lacking here, but they have so much potential! read more

This is a beautiful new coffee bar and iced treats Cafe in the Deerfield Beach area. Inside is aesthetic and clean with plenty of seating. There is also Wi-Fi for all those who like to work from home inside a nice Cafe. The menu is extensive and has all your favorites from an avocado toast to omelette and waffles. There's also gelato so affogato is an option. I was able to enjoy their empanadas which came in a beef chicken & Caprese version. The beef and chicken empanada were one of the best I've had in a long time and filled with chicken and beef. I also tried their squared avocado toast that came with sliced egg on top and that was also very delicious and Hardy. I also tried their mini affogato flight and those were amazing. You get to choose up to three flavors for your mini flight and the server pours the hot espresso in front of you table side. The flavors I chose for my mini affogato flight were hazelnut crunch, which was my absolute favorite, chocolate, and vanilla. They also garnish the mini affogato flight with little pastry snacks. To go I left with a giant blueberry muffin and a pau au chocolate . I can easily stay here for more than an hour and be completely in the zone. A wonderful addition to the area and I will definitely be coming back and would recommend others. read more
