The cove is one of those spots that never disappoints! Located in Deerfield Beach along the intracoastal it is one of the greatest restaurants around and definitely a hidden gem! Ever since the renovation they're outside seating is amazing. There are so many choices where you can sit by the bar, high tops tables along the water or even at one of their second bar or other tables a little bit further away from the water. You never have to wait long either because they have so much seating available. It really gives an island vibe when eating at the cove from the high ceilings to the music to the great food choices and especially sitting along the water. You'll also never know what type of boat you might see as well, which makes for a fun time. I think a highlight appetizer is definitely the conquers. They are super flavorful and you definitely get the seafood taste without much filler. I also love the black and mahi sandwich for an entrée. I think that they always give a very nice piece of mahi and the blackened seasoning that they use is not overbearing, but really adds flavor. My favorite drink here is a blue moon on draft. I think that there is nothing better than a blue moon when sitting along the water. If you haven't tried the cove, I definitely recommend stopping by. I think their food is phenomenal. If you ask me, we need more place like The Cove in South Florida. The Cove sits by the Intracoastal, providing a nice view of the waterway with a warm breeze of summer afternoons. If your day has been hectic, just head on over there, order a cold beer and some food, listen to a live performance, and enjoy the view and the sunset. The Cove provides a perfect place to relax and have fun. The bartenders and the server are always busy, attending to your orders, and the food and drinks are always good. Great open space, with lots of breeze and good music. Even though it was busy, as it was 4th of July, my group of 5 were seated quickly. We were upset because we requested to sit by the water, and there were 2 tables available, they told us that we had to sit at a round table farther in, because there were 5 of us. So we accepted that, but 15 mins later they sat a GROUP OF 5 by the water!! Tried to ignore that and just enjoy lunch. The food took a while to come out, but it was a busy day so we expected that. I got The Cove burger, and it was cooked just right but lacked seasoning and taste. The calamari was just okay. We enjoyed a very nice lunch at the The Cove this week. I have been here before they remodeled a few years ago. This is a waterfront restaurant with outdoor dining and boat docking which is always very crowded. It is a great place to entertain out of town guests and friends alike in addition to a date night. We were seated right away and had our Virgin Mary's served quickly. A tall glass with all the trimmings including bacon!! We ordered Fish and chips and a wedge salad to share. It took a while for the food to come out but both dishes were very good...the fish (Haddock) was huge. I asked about the small portion of fries and our lovely server brought out a fresh bowl..no charge. That was very sweet of her. We found free parking in the lot and there is also Valet $7. Stopped here for a quick bite and drinks with the hubby and im so glad we did. First, you can't beat the view and the breeze. Second, my drink was delicious and perfectly crafted I asked for a drink not featured on the menu (prosecco, titos, mint, lime, and strawberry puree) and the bartender made it perfectly. The nautical themed restaurant is situated at the end of Hillsboro Blvd on the intracoastal. The tiki hut style dining area is massive and multi leveled divded only by a few wooden steps, while the cocktail bar overlooks a small fleet of luxury fishing boats. Live music every Saturday & Sunday 1p - 4p and Fridays until 9pm. The sun sets on the obstructed west side of the building and is visible from only one small portion of the back patio. Consumed a few cocktails at the bar while waiting for my entire party to arrive. The Apple Sour Rum & Coke was my own concoction and it was excellent. We had a large family function and sat in the main interior dining room. The server, Desi, was very attentive through the entire meal. The food arrived to the table without any glitches. My Cove Burger with the bacon was large and juicy. The Lobster Roll was tender & tasty and well stuffed but pricey. Great service, rare atmosphere, good food but overpriced. The parking lot was free with enough spaces to support the restaurant on a Sunday night. The wooden dock along the water is walkable although fishing is prohibited. We came on a stormy sunday night. It was busy, as expected. The views of the waterway are great and make for ample people-watching. Very pleasantly surprised with the shrimp scampi and the key lime pie. However, the rest of my party was very disappointed with the chicken quesadillas and the fish tacos. There were also a few hiccups with service...we had to chase someone down for utensils, we didn't get our fries when our food came out, and our server gave us the wrong amount in cash for our change. First off been living in the Deerfield area for 10 years. Been here before and the service has never been so abysmal in my life. Absolutely the worst service I have ever had. At first it was okay she was semi attentive and then we weren't ready to order our food yet so we asked her to give us a couple of minutes. She came to the table next to us to check in on them but never stopped by our table. Let me tell you we genuinely waited 45 minutes just for the waiter to place our order. JUST TO PUT IN OUR FOOD ORDER. We asked the bartender to send her over and she still took 10 minutes to come. We thought she left the restaurant lol. when she came back she didn't even apologize for the wait, she asked if we were ready to place our order. The customer service was terrible. Didn't refill water once either. With all that said the food was good. Chicken Alfredo pasta and fish tacos were tasty. I usually don't like giving bad reviews however this was quite deserving of one. This happened Tuesday March 31 at around 8pm and we were seated on the high top tables to the right of the restaurant by where the hostess table is. Ok I hate leaving this review but what choice do I have? Very disappointing handling of an unsafe dog in the restaurant. A dog was lunging at people, and when we raised the issue, management told us they essentially couldn't do anything about it. That simply isn't true. Restaurants have the legal authority to require even a legitimate service animal to leave if the animal is out of control and the handler does not take effective action to control it. Emotional-support animals do not have the same public-access rights as service animals in the first place. I have no problem whatsoever with properly trained service dogs. The problem is a restaurant refusing to act when a dog is lunging at customers and then claiming the law prevents them from doing so. It doesn't. Restaurants have a responsibility to provide a reasonably safe environment for their customers. Management needs to understand the law and be willing to deal with disruptive or dangerous animals rather than telling customers their hands are tied. read more

Can't recommend this place enough. Not advertised as a hotel restaurant so realizing that it was made me kind of skeptical, but after eating here I frequently think about it from 900mi away. My 4 girlfriends and I got two appetizers, two side salads, five sodas, five meals and three desserts for $200. Everything was yummy and came out hot and quick even on the weekend. The view was stunning (book a window table ahead of time!) and there was live music that was actually enjoyable and not overbearing. We were slightly dressed up from taking pictures but wouldn't feel out of place here in a tank top and shorts. Perfect for vacation dinner. The bartender service at the bar while waiting for a table was exceptional, she really tried to satisfy my taste, but both drinks fell short on quality. The frozen margarita wasn't frozen and overly sweet, replaced with an on the rocks skinny margarita, lack of tequila and flavor fell short of a good drink. When I was seated I tried a different drink, a mojito and that drink tasted more along the lines of a normal cocktail but still not spectacular. You come here for the views, to be outside on the water, not necessarily for the food or drinks which were acceptable but not noteworthy. Nice place by the canal. Open air feel with a breeze from the overhead fans makes it comfortable even in a scorching moly hot day. We ordered the lobster mac and cheese and the fish and chips. Both dishes were huge! The lobster mac was very rich and creamy and the breadcrumbs on top gave a nice texture. They knocked it out of the park with this one! It was our first stop on our trip and it was nice to be able to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere. The wings were really good and I know my husband enjoyed the shrimp! I had the watermelon salad with mahi mahi. It was a little too over sauced for my liking and would get it on the side next time! All and all it was a nice place. Food was not too over priced. Side note: apparently they have the best key lime pie and the week before they sold my sister the pie for $35. We asked for a full pie again and they told us it was close to $65 ..... no where in Florida have we ever seen a pie go for that much and have the receipt for proof. The bartender was professional and made me a dirty martini with three unstuffed green olives on a toothpick. The cocktail was perfect and hard to really screw up.
