More like 3 1/2 stars but with some disclaimers: The restaurant is in a hotel. It's in a Marriott Hotel. On the beach... in a tourist area. So it's expensive plus. There is valet parking only, but if you get your parking ticket validated up to the first 2 hours are free. We came after their Easter buffet for their regular dinner menu. The restaurant was pretty empty except for two other tables. We both ordered the oysters from the appetizer section of the menu -- he had the half dozen raw bluepoints ($17.25). They came with cocktail sauce and horseradish. I don't remember seeing the crackers. Mine were roasted with "nudja" butter ($17.75). The six were tasty -- but except for one of mine, they were quite small. I didn't notice any spicy flavoring or much seasoning beside the butter. I think they meant "nduja" which is a spreadable pork salumi. I had to look this one up. The waiter said "salami" but for those that don't eat pork products, they should let people know it's made from pork. For our main meal, he had their wagyu burger ($22). It came with well done fries (I tasted the fries-- they were great). He said the burger was very good. It didn't look very big. It was supposed to come with a truffle aioli -- I didn't see this, unless it was on the bun already. I ordered their fish stew ($28.25). It had three shrimp, three cedar key small clams, and a piece of mahi in a spicy coconut based Thai curry sauce over white basmati rice. The dish was spicy enough to make my eyes water and my nose run. It was good, didn't taste like curry, and I would have preferred more shrimp and less fish. The little bit of string beans on the side which were supposed to be "long beans" (?) were awful. They tasted strange. Probably re-served from the earlier buffet. We were too full for dessert. And nothing really jumped out to have us spend another $7 to $9.... The ambiance is fine. We sat with a partial view of the pool area. The silverware has a fish motif on it. Napkins are a sea blue color. Our waiter, Curtis, was personable. The restaurant has been open since February (2019). Two months later, it still needs a little smoothing. They were out of the first wine my husband selected. We had to ask for small forks for our oysters. When we were seated by the hostess she told us our waiters name would be Tom. Little things just a bit off. But in general, there is potential here. If they could lower the prices a tad, they might get more local business. After all, this is Pompano Beach, not South Beach. read more

OK this particular restaurant still has a sign up, still has a menu up on the website but essentially does not exist. There's nothing fresh about this place. It absolutely sucks. We were enticed by booking on the Marriott website for a party of four for dinner last night. Upon arrival they have a really cool sign out front I wish I took a picture of. Always sat down the head of us the menu that she used for the little bar and grill outside by the beach. Something called 1200. This is all Sysco fresh food. Nothing what the restaurant advertised. When we first walked into the restaurant I thought we were at a daycare picking up and dropping off children. There were so many kids in here screaming and hollering and so many parents staring straight ahead pretending like it's not happening. WTF? Marriott needs to take this restaurant sign down, they need to delete the menu online, and I need to put people on notice that there is no fresh fish or seafood at this location. Just some nasty ass nachos, quesadillas, and other bar fair that you would not make a reservation to go eat how do you not been missed lead by the hotel. read more

I was not told market price of the snapper which was $48. I guess I should've asked. It definitely wasn't worth that. Sauces weren't good and the slaw wasn't either. Mac n cheese was very good. The burger was meh. Prices are high to eat at the hotel and because of that you'd expect it to be better tasting. Pina Colada was great. read more

Went for a Ft Lauderdale Bloggers event and plan to come back on my own. The food was AMAZING. Not exaggerating. We had tasting portions of Maine lobster rolls; Thai Chili Sea Bass with mushrooms and bok choy over miso broth (my favorite); sliders with cheese, pork belly bacon and truffle aioli; NY strip steak with mac and cheese, roasted onion and asparagus; peach and goat cheese salad; and strawberry shortcake with mango custard for desert. Service was very good as well. It's in the Marriott Pompano Beach hotel, so prices are similar to a hotel restaurant, but the food is worth it. Dining room overlooks the pool and it's right on the beach, so it'd be a good place for lunch. read more

3.5 Stars for this newish addition to the Pompano Beach beachfront eateries. I saw a featured article in a local magazine and thought this may be a great place to try. Located in the Pompano Beach Marriott Hotel and Spa at 1200 N Ocean Boulevard. (Valet parking for up to 2 hrs is free when you bring back a validated ticket from the restaurant). The restaurant was empty when we arrived so we had our choice of seats. Sitting by a window with a pool view and the tops of sea oats and cruise ships just off the coast. The menu is simple, broken into: (H20 and salt) seafood apps (Small rounds) bowls and apps (Down to Earth) salads (Portables) burger and lobster roll (Tonight you'll be eating) entrées (Something nice) desserts My choice to start was a half dozen Blue Points... You can see from my photo that 3 of the six were quite tiny, but tasty. I ordered the Wagyu Beef Burger which came with pork belly bacon, double Gloucester cheese, truffle aioli, bibb lettuce and tomato, with a small side of handcut fries. Definition of subpar service/food: had to specifically ask for water, silverware, napkins, share plates, and flag waiter down for every round of drinks. It was as if it was their first shift and they were trying to avoid any conversation with the tables. Had no idea what kind of spirits were behind the bar, had to go back and forth every time with the bartender when we ordered a drink off the menu and did not offer suggestions for common liquor they didn't carry. Felt like we were a burden every time we requested service. Server made a comment to the bartender after we asked for a side of Mayo -- this table keeps asking for something EVERY time I am there but failed to provide us with basically anything. Instead of asking if we wanted anything else, like another drink, just kept offering the check. We waited 45 minutes at the end of dinner to order another drink or close out but nothing. Had to go inside to the bar to get our check. Would've spent $100 more but no one paid attention to us. The server in question had a 5 table patio section. Nothing overwhelming with chill vacation vibes. All tables around us were complaining the entire time about not getting served. Again, establishment was not busy in any capacity. Food was wildly underwhelming especially with no silverware. Smoke and mirrors. Over priced, shitty vibe. Staying at the hotel attached and was hoping it would be the spot, instead was tempted to ask for a comp it was such a bad experience--won't ever spend another dime here. I wouldn't ever recommend this place. Had the server Jeffrey. Tried charging our table and the table beside us for extra things. Would walk off before you finished your sentence. Food tasted like it was from the buffet. The Starbucks isn't an actual Starbucks and taste nothing like the real drinks. The only thing that tasted good was probably the bread and the potato slides. When he brought the creamer to the table he dropped it and it fell on the table. He took it back and just put it in a bowl, not even a new one. I asked for water about five times & he never brought it until the end. I ended up getting my own water from the bar. read more

Was a guest at the Marriott recently and dined at AND Fish Kitchen + Bar multiple times during our trip. Both my husband and I couldn't get over how delicious the food was. We assumed it was going to be "ok" given it was a hotel restaurant but we were quite surprised! We enjoyed brunch inside a few mornings and the kids loved it. I enjoyed the broken egg sandwich...delicious! Oh and make sure you get the fresh Florida orange juice! We spent most of our lunches and dinners at the outside patio...super chill and once again awesome food. The burger is amazing, as is the chicken salad sandwich and the chicken sandwich on the pretzel bun. My kids even liked most of the kids menu. Biggest hit for the kiddos (and obviously for mama too) was how fresh the fruit was...please don't change that! Amazing! read more

Breakfast here this morning with a client I flew in from Midwest. I am rating the restaurant only, but serious concerns with the hotel which charges $20.00 for resort fees and double taxes on that for services which are not used. This is really BS. Anyway... Let's start with breakfast. I drove in and asked for non-valet because I have reasons not to use valet. They said only valet parking. OK. The valet guy was extraordinarily friendly and assured me all would be OK and even showed me to the dining room and to have my ticked validated. BTW, I have had several clients and family stay here before and during covid. Breakfast was good, but had to ask for silverware. Toast had no butter. Things are weird now, but please bring butter and silverware. It makes for an easier meal. Scrambled eggs are messy to eat without a fork. Overall the quality of the food was very good and service was OK. Client said dinner the previous night was very good, so I'd like to try dinner soon. Leaving, the valet was exceptionally friendly and genuine. Give this guy a raise. read more
