I am gradually working my way through Bloomin' Brands sister restaurants -- starting with Bonefish Grill (most visits), Fleming's Steakhouse (haven't tried yet), Outback Steakhouse, and now Carrabba's Italian Grill. The restaurant had a nice, simple Italian-style interior with a casual atmosphere and a view of the open kitchen. There were only a few people dining, so I quickly took a seat at the bar. I ordered a strawberry lemonade and a hot meatball sandwich with a side of fries. The beverage was really refreshing, the fries was hot and crispy, and the sandwich was well-prepared with three meatballs covered in a tasty pomodoro sauce, all inside a lightly toasted ciabatta bread. The meal was enjoyable and filling. I received satisfactory service from my server who was also interesting to talk with. I am looking forward to coming back to try another intriguing dish and delicious cocktail. read more

I ordered their spaghetti and meatballs dish and it was delicious but there was a little bit of "nursing home food" smell it kinda gave off. The meatballs were extremely delicious and moist. I had to go back inside to ask for parmesan and they STILL didn't give me enough. I haven't eaten this dish from any Carraba's in general in 15 entire years. I remember back then in Miami Beach, the ...meatballs were huge and hearty and not as weirdly mushy and soft as now, which is why I came back expecting this. Oh well. It was good for the moment. The portion was EXTREMELY filling. Another thing I didn't like about this ...place is that the card payment machine actually OBLIGATES you to tip, and you cannot decline it EVEN IF it's takeout! 1. When this place opened in the 90's...it was pretty good. 2. All the plants and trees that they have on the outside of the roof area as you are looking at the building are dead, dried up and is unkept. 3. Upon walking into this place, they need a makeover. Old, dingy and uninviting. There were a group of young girls hovering around the reception area, backs to us, and when they did approach us, they looked like "A deer in a headlight" 4. I did not smell any Italian food or hear any pleasant dinnertime music. I'm 100% Italian, too. 5. We sat on the couch and waited over five minutes to be seated or be acknowledged. We walked out of this crap hole and I'm glad I did. 6. When Customers go out to dinner, it's a privilege. Clients want delicious and fresh food, great customer service and in a warm and welcoming environment. -Not here. 7. Go to Capital Grille in FTL, J Alexanders, Zona Fresca, Ethos Greek Bistro. In you like Italian cuisine, visit Cafe Vico, Peter's Pizza, or my kitchen. This chain restaurant will not last much longer in the United States. This was my first time dining here and definitely will be my last. Alex was my server simply horrible. My appetizer was burned and served on a cold plate. I don't know why crab cakes would be served on a cold plate also the plate was dirty. The chicken soup was also served in a dirty bowl. My utensils were also dirty! I showed the server the utensils and asked her would she eat off of that spoon she said no, so why would you think I would want to eat with it. My husband tipped her $20.00 before we received any food hoping her garbage attitude would improve. Her attitude stayed the same. I don't know how the food tastes because I didn't eat it after receiving burned food on a dirty plate, soup in a dirty bowl and dirty utensils I definitely didn't want the food. Hello all!! Ordered delivery today and let me tell you something about this establishment. Everything came in its own packaging and looked well handled. Either I forgot to ask for utensils or they didn't provide them. Nonetheless the food was bussin.' Wifey had a very nice Lasagna, she tore into it soon as it arrived. Couldn't get a photo, but her word on food is valid. Now I had Fettuccine Alfredo and I paired it with Meatballs & Ricotta. The fettuccine wasn't as flavorful as I would have liked, but I already had plans to put the meatballs on there. So a Fettuccine Meatballs & Ricotta Tomato Alfredo. Some might think, like "Future" that's too much sauce. But both dishes had the right amount, mixing them was heaven. The portion was very decent. With the amount of bread they gave us. This was my first time at Carrabba's and it wouldn't be my last. I was there for a Yelp Elite event to kick off Italian Carnival. They rolled out the red carpet for us. However, based on the service, love and family vibes amongst the staff something tells me all guests get the red carpet treatment. We had a fix menu for the evening each paired with a wine. It even turned into a cute mini wine tasting/lesson session. We were educated on each wine and were guided on how to properly taste wine, which if you've never done a wine tasting was pretty cool. The food selection was yummy for my tummy. We started with the shrimp scampi served with garlic bread, followed by a salad then chicken (I don't eat chicken but our server substitute mine with a vegetable ravioli). I'm a foodie & for what it's worth- impressed with the food here. Showed up around 3pm late lunch/early dinner. Service was excellent. This was my 1st time here. We decided to try the appetizer combo- mozzarella sticks, calamari & sausage stuffed mushrooms. Was pretty good. I need to mention- the bread with olive oil & herbs was warm & good too.The good comes with soup or salad. We both ordered salad. I ordered the veal piccata with broccoli. Hubby had the trio with Filet Mignon, Chicken & ravioli. We all had take home bags! The restaurant has booths & tables in a casual setting. By the way, I noticed that they have wine pairing dinners. Cannot complain about the service! Alex was awesome. Kind and checked on me often. I went for happy hour and had a sangria, which was pretty good. No problem there. I ordered the happy hour chicken wings. I took a bite out of each one hoping I would get one that was tender, but they were all so tough. I couldn't eat them. Then ordered a side salad with the parm dressing and it was warm and wilted. I never complained but asked for the bill. Alex noticed that I hadn't eaten the wings and I told him they were so tough and the salad was wilted. Regardless I ate half the salad and had intended just to pay and go, but Alex insisted that I wait and adjusted my bill accordingly. So 5 stars for my server and 1 star for the food. " this a great take out place especially if you have kids , twins in there tweens till they hit college, this place is great for them it's clean and not going to hit you in the wallet. A lot better then most other take out options imo . Often I'll go online Oder 30-40 minutes later pull up and they will come right to the door of my suv. There was a sign on the door saying save more with $10 take home . Idk how that works I was just here . And noticed it . So if there is a $10 meal option I'll have to see about that next time. So we haven't been here in a loooong time. Decided to go today for their $7.99 lunch specials during the week. To our surprise, the restaurant has been all done over, it's brighter and beautiful wood floor. No more seating at the kitchen bar to watch the cooks, but that was fun back in the day. So we were shown to a table, received water and Italian bread right away, nice. We had two female servers that were very nice and attentive. I ordered the shrimp scampi, which was very good, and Les had his fav, chicken parmigiana with lots of cheese.lol The bill was $21.00,he had an iced tea, lol plus a tip and we brought food home, can't beat that! We went to an amazing event at this location I had personally never eaten in Carrabbas, the Carrabba's staff was wonderful the service was top notch and the friendliness of the staff was over the top. The night/event consisted of various courses and wine tastings, and the vibe was so lively and fun. We had 4 courses. The food was super delicious.. * The shrimp scampi was tasty paired with a Pinot Grigio. The salad was above being paired with a Moscato wine I believe it was the Seven Daughters' Moscato, the Chicken Bryan was the main attraction of the night I ordered one to go that is how delicious it was, It was perfectly tender, and the pasta not overly sauced just right, the Chianti that came with it was ok red wine is not my thing. The courses ended with a Cafe Carrabba which was too cold and watered down and is not something I would order from the Menu. The dessert was a huge portion of New York-style cheesecake with chocolate drizzle on the bottom of the plate which was heaven. I will be back as it was my first time here and it was amazing and there are so many other dishes I want to try. I've been to Carrabba's a couple of times and each experience I have tried something new and have not been disappointed! This cute restaurant has a lot of seating from tables to booths and can accommodate large parties. They have an open kitchen which I always love to see in restaurants- but that's just a personal preference. I have tried their chicken parm (2 thin cutlets) served with your fav pasta (delicious); the chicken Bryan - so yummy- although be mindful it is goat cheese and not mozzarella that it is topped with. Their shrimp scampi is pretty good, it's not my first choice meal but it was not bad. They have a wide variety of wines and would be able to complement any meal/dessert with a great pairing. Lastly the desserts- I have had their cheesecake and their chocolate dream cake- both so delicious! Service was great- special shout out to Lucille one of the managers- she was so kind! Of note, at the location in Pompano, they have wine dinners, 1-2 per month. They will do themes for each and come up with a menu. It's fun so well (went to their March Mardi Gras one). I come to the area 4 times a month for business and this is one of my go-to's. Tonight I ordered take out this time and was slightly disappointed by a few things that should be double checked on take outs. I ordered soup. There was no soup spoon in the bag. I ordered salad. Definitely not enough dressing. The container was only poured 1/2 way. However, that all gets trumped by the wonderful service and the amazing food. The food was good, great bread and appetizers but I wasn't crazy about the meal I ordered. This was no fault of them, just poor choices on my part! Service was decent but the food... ughh... had a decent ribeye steak but the broccoli was mushy and was missing the garlic mashed potatoes. Had to ask for it again. We had ordered the $10 take it home for an equivalent value or less and it was still missing the mashed potatoes but had 2 sides of that mushy broccoli instead. Seriously??? Was not worth the $$ I paid for the meal. Sad because Carabbas used to have epic food. Quality has gone down IMO. read more

First time coming to this location with my husband and daughter and got HORRIBLE service. Starting from the beginning we are getting rushed. We had to ask her repeatedly to bring us straws, cheese and to go boxes and had to ask another waiter. My husband is talking to her and she walks away. Carrabba's is amazing! First off you gotta sit at the bar with Whitney, she is amazing. Such a great bar tender. She is super friendly and suggest such great meals. I had the grouper which is a special of the month with the spinach (the spinach is a must) and Joe had the ravioli. We both had vegetable minestrone soups with our meal which is so hearty and delicious I could eat just that and the bread.. but I'm a lush and we ordered wine and desserts as well. They have Conundrum by the glass so naturally that's what I drank. Then came the dessert.. Cannoli Cake!!!!! It's layers of delicious vanilla cake with cannoli filling and chocolate chips in the filling and icing... Aaaand a little Cannoli on top. My mom and I visited the Carrabbas location in Pompano Beach, FL located at 1229 s Federal Highway on Saturday, March 23rd at 7:00pm. Our waitress was Gail. We also had interaction the manager, Lucille Coppola. Gail had 6 tables and was seemingly very busy. She avoided eye contact and it was impossible to get her attention for a simple beverage refill. Never during the time that Gail was struggling was the manager seen helping her or anyone else for that matter. I ordered the trio with lasagna, Alfredo, and chicken parm. The Alfredo and chicken parm were fabulous. The lasagna was cold. I advised Gail the lasagna was cold and she was not pleased about it and had an attitude and took my plate. She came back a couple minutes later and said my food would be back out in a moment. I shared that I didn't understand why she had to take all of my food away when only the lasagna was bad. She immediately said she would get a manager even though I never asked for one. Lucille came to the table and started right off the bat with an attitude saying she didn't understand what the problem was because she was making all new food. I again explained nothing was wrong with most of the food. She started yelling and interrupting me. I was in absolute shock that a manager would talk to anyone in that manner. To say it was embarrassing is to say the very least. It was so bad that I eventually stated I didn't want the food and wanted a check for the other things so we could leave. She said all the food was free. She continued with her yelling and nasty tone. She kept saying it was free and she didn't understand the problem. I asked if there was another manager and she said no. We left the store. I was so upset that a manager would talk to anyone in that manner that I went back inside to ask the hostess who the district manager was or who else I could contact. They weren't able to help saying they don't know Joe's phone number. We were in the lobby taking business cards for Vickie who we assume is maybe the owner. Steve came at that point and was the first person to apologize. As we were explaining to him what was going on, Lucille approached us, again yelling at us for the entire restaurant to hear and witness. She came and said that we got our food for free and we needed to leave the store. I explained that Steve was actually listening and she aggressively physically grabbed Steve to pull him away from us. He had fear in his eyes like he couldn't believe what was happening. I am worried about the safety of every employee working under Lucille. I cannot believe a manager would physically harm their staff. I felt concern for our safety at that point. I contemplated calling the police for Steve and I am regretful that I didn't; I'm very worried about Steve. I want to be clear that I never wanted free food. I wanted warm food and to be treated with respect. I actually wanted to eat dinner and not leave at 8pm starving. I certainly didn't ask to be shaking in my skin and so fearful for Steve. I can't state enough how extremely worried I am about Steve, his well being, and his livelihood for simply being a model employee. I have concern for the safety of every single employee at that location that has to interact with Lucille. I would certainly hope as a corporation that you would want all of your employees treated with respect regardless of their position.  I am looking for someone to follow up with me asap. I'm expecting for you to take this matter very seriously. I believe Lucille owes me, my mom, Steve, and all the employees an apology. In addition, I'm terribly worried about Steve. I'm worried she is going to retaliate against him and fire him for simply listening. I'm worried about the physical safety of your employees and customers. I just want to make sure Steve is ok and Lucille is held accountable for her poor actions. read more

We've eaten at this restaurant before, but not for a number of years. Today, only, they offered a "double visit" credit for dine rewards members. As we were in the area, we decided to try them for happy hour. We sat at the front bar on the left as you enter. It was quite cold there as the fans were really blowing the air around. We walked over to check out the other bar by the ovens, but saw it was really just counter seating and not manned. There was only one other couple and one single woman at the bar when we first sat down. We ordered drinks -- my husband had to ask about what wines were included in happy hour. No one was promoting the specials, although the menu was on the bar. We also ordered calamari from the HH menu. The bar gal had to ask one of the runners about it as it was taking quite a long time. When it came out, it was piping hot. And it was so overly peppered that my eyes were tearing and I started choking from the spice. My husband likes spicy food, but this was just awful. They took the order back and redid it. When it came out again, it was much better. We shared an Italian side salad which is a bit of a misnomer. I asked the difference between the house salad and the Italian -- the house supposedly has pepperoncinis and more black olives. It seems the names should be reversed. Our salad had one black olive on it. We'd asked for the balsamic vinaigrette dressing, but it came with the regular Italian vinaigrette. Guess the kitchen wasn't reading the order. We ate it anyway -- without sending it back. Then the bar gal came to tell me they were out of the stuffed mushrooms that I had ordered. The chef hadn't properly taken it out of the computer system. By then, I decided not to order anything else. We'd already ordered a "small plate" of meatballs with ricotta. Again, the bar gal had to prompt one of the runners to check on this item for us. When they delivered it, the two meatballs were cold in the middle. We sent that back. When we finally got the new order, it was hot and much better. For dessert, we tried their traditional cannoli. Two cannolis on the plate. They were fine. Filled with creamy ricotta with a few small mini chocolate chips (there should have been more chips), they were a semi sweet ending to our comedy of errors dinner. The bar gals were pleasant throughout and apologetic for the kitchen's mistakes, but it was a bit frustrating. Now I remember why we haven't been back to this particular location... read more

In the 10 years we've lived in Lauderdale, the Pompano Carrabba's has been our Go To. The curbside service is far superior to other local Carrabba's. Last evening's dine-in with long time server Marcella and her support crew was even more superb than previous visits. Kudos to the staff & management. I normally eat at the boca location but today I was headed to the boat parade in lauderdale and I chose Carabbas Pompano as my restaurant. I love the Johnny Rocco salad because it had delicious shrimp and grilled scallops atop salad greens. The dressing is fantastic also. This is my always order at Carabbas. Not that I dont like their other items I just love this salad! I ordered a side of fresh asparagus as a side dish along with their warm crusty bread and the olive oil dipping sauce how could I go wrong. I cant! I got there after church let out which was around 5 pm and took my time eating as I enjoyed every bite! I had a diet coke because i am desperately trying to watch my sugar intake. The restaurant was full but there was no wait when I arrived so I was seated promptly. I had a window booth which allowed me to watch the cars driving by. The booth was large and comfortable. I enjoyed my salad and asparagus which I always do. Thats one thing about Carabbas its consistent! I can always have the Johnny Rocco salad and never worry it would taste differently at other Carabbas locations. Its always spot on! I didnt get dessert as I dont need those extra calories. I do love their desserts but not tonight! I took my time and enjoyed my meal! By the time I was leaving it was the perfect time to see the Fort Lauderdale Boat Parade. Went for dinner last night and was nothing but disappointing, expensive watered down vodka drinks, food that had to be sent back, you shouldn't have to cut chicken with a saw, pasta with sauce that i couldn't even finish taste like it was out of can or off the floor. I know it's a chain restaurant and I like to eat local, but a friend recommended this. We were quite impressed to say the least. From the drinks to my favorite, the Tuscan Grilled Chicken it was a very good meal. The Prickly Pear Margarita and the Sparkling Tuscan Lemonade were excellent! The restaurant was close to empty when we got there as it was approaching closing time, but the staff gave us 5 star service even though they were probably tired and wanting to go home. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly. The kitchen was spot on with our food. We are in Fort Lauderdale every February for our annual cruise and have been for many years, but this was the first time to try this restaurant.
