Nice restaurant on the waterfront. We chose to. Sit inside and it's very cute and nicely decorated. The wait staff were very friendly and engaging. Alexandria was a terrific waitress. We went for brunch and it was excellent. The house Bloody Mary and mimosa were well mixed. The kids got a mojito mocktail and a non blended strawberry daiquiri mocktail. It was our last night in Pompano Beach so we decided to splurge with a fancier restaurant. We chose indoor seating because of the wind but still had a nice view. The Visitors Center gave us a card for a free appetizer at Oceanic so we ordered fried calamari. It was a nice sized portion but a little greasy. I ordered the catch off the day which was grilled grouper. It was served with polenta cakes and arugula. My wife chose the half roast chicken which came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. I wasn't a fan of the sauce with my grouper but otherwise happy with my meal. My wife enjoyed her chicken and had leftovers. Our server was Riley and she did a sensational job. We went with a group of 16 to celebrate a 55 th anniversary. The review is mixed. Waitress Jo Jo was great but seemed overwhelmed. We asked for outside seating and triple confirmed it only to find that they could not do 16 outside. We had a good seating but that meant a very long table. Food took a long time. Most of us were satisfied but some had bad experiences..cold pasta cake in a seafood dish, grizzly steak, a salad entree served incorrectly. Sea bass was excellent! It's a beautiful restaurant but we dropped a lot of money for dinner with 16 people and felt unappreciated. Never saw a manager to apologize for anything. Had a nice chocolate cake slice to pass around for the anniversary couple, but would have an appreciated a dessert menu and coffee, which were not offered. read more

11/08/2025 Celebrated my birthday with brunch at Oceanic. We had reservations for a party of six at 11 o'clock. We had reservations to sit outside and it was a beautiful day to do that. Our table was towards the back and the way we sat we did not have the view of the water. Our server started off great but quickly forgot about the table. A lot of us were waiting for waters refills for a while after asking her various times. The food was delicious. One of my friends said her fries were extremely salty so she asked the server if she could get something less like asparagus. Instead of the server, getting a manager to deal with this, she looked into my friend's eyes and said that was going to be an up charge. My friend just got a salad. I've never seen a server take it upon herself to just take care of a customer that wasn't happy. She didn't apologize or say let me see what we can do. All she wanted was another side because what she ordered was not right. We waited for a while for our check too. However, she did come with a birthday cake which was very nice. read more

Went here for lunch and sat down at the patio overlooking the ocean and pier--great views and a nice spot to eat. There were lots of birds around though, chirping a ton and flying onto the patio at times, which kept me on edge about them getting near me or the food. I ordered the lobster roll with fries and a Mountain Dew. The cups they use are actually pretty nice--made the drink feel and taste better than a regular glass. Fries were crispy and solid, especially with BBQ sauce for dipping. The lobster roll was a bit of disappointment--just lobster in a plain hot dog bun with nothing else on it. It had literally zero flavor. I had asked for a side of mayo to spread on the lobster and bun, and then it was delicious! So in other words, I made it better than the chef... should be paying me for eating here. I mean in all seriousness, for $33 and supposedly a nice restaurant, you would expect so much better for an entree on the menu and more effort given. I've never experienced such laziness to a meal. This is not a fast food place where I'd expect that. Nevertheless, the service (that I could see anyway, not the chef apparently) was excellent overall. Oceanic came highly recommended by my sister who's visited several times with her boyfriend in recents years since owning a condo not far off. Coming here was the best decision my sisters, my daughter and my niece made for an early Sunday dinner. Oceanic's inside is beachy-glam (if that's even a thing), but it's the outside that steals the show- especially in South Florida's heat (which I always LOVE). Service was incredible, thanks to our smooth-talking server (Brit accent?) who made the evening so enjoyable. Between the plentiful, tasty appetizers and the wines on the table, we had no complaints. For our main plates, the lineup was a hit all around: my two sisters shared the large Cashew Crunch Chicken Salad, my twin had the Thai Noodle Salad, my daughter went for the Cashew Crusted dish, my niece enjoyed the Branzino and I enjoyed the Sea Bass with sticky rice and beurre blanc. Every single plate was fresh, flavorful and beautifully prepared. My only complaint was the lonnnnng wait to get our wines. There was another long wait just to get our 5 Jumbo shrimp cocktail and calamari. The wait for our drinks and appetizers wasn't a "typical" wait- and that's what threw me off. My sister who's eaten here before even mentioned there was never a wait. I'm not sure what happened during our early 5pm Sunday dinner, especially with only two or three other tables occupied ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I get there were 6 of us in an almost empty restaurant, but my child had a flight to catch back to MA after dinner and had mentioned it earlier. Oceanic has set itself up as an upscale spot in sleepy Pompano Beach. They've nailed the on-the-sand ambiance. The restaurant is elegant, yet not over the top - in keeping with Pompano's laidback vibe. Nice enough for a birthday or anniversary dinner without being too stuffy. The views are impeccable. Service was decent but a little frazzled because the place was packed. I also appreciated the fact that the staff didn't rush us to turn over the table. My problem was the food. The menu over-promised and under-delivered. The offerings were serviceable but lacked proper execution. The WOW-factor just never kicked in, but I wasn't surprised by this. Oftentimes restaurants that have primo locations rest on those laurels and the food becomes an afterthought. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. I went for happy hour a couple weeks ago and may I say this place their HH menu for food is a bit limited but their drinks starts as low as $7. There was not much opening seating at the bar so I do recommend arriving before the crowd. The bartenders were very hospitable. I started off with the Pistachio Colada-which is not in the happy hour menu but I had to get it because it was so good. I then had the Pompano Punch which could be made as apart of HH. This place truly hits on all fronts -- from the stunning ocean views and beautiful ambiance to the exceptional service and outstanding food. We were a party of six celebrating a birthday dinner, and every dish we ordered was delicious. We enjoyed the Brussels sprouts, calamari, artisan breads, salmon, mahi mahi, crab cakes, and a variety of flavorful sides. For dessert, the gelato, crème brûlée, key lime pie and espresso martini were all outstanding -- the perfect way to end a delicious meal! I was part of a bridal party that hosted a bridal shower in the Mangrove Room here last weekend. Food was tasty and service was good. I had braised short rib, salmon, mashed potatoes, and caesar salad. For apps we had the lamb chops, spring rolls, and crab cakes. My overall FAVORITE menu item had to be the lamb chops. All the food arrived in minutes- weird then my espresso martini and we just sat and stared at it bc I couldn't drink without my friend and then the waters came. When I made the reservation I requested a table closest to the beach and I understood that it was not promised. So, that was fine. But when we arrived, there was no seating near the beach. I asked the hostess for guidance - should we should wait at the bar for a table to open up? She said yes. That was a good idea. We had appetizers and drinks. But, it only got more crowded and then there was no table outside. I told the hostess we wanted to sit outside but she just gave all the tables away. BEWARE. Making a reservation means nothing. I honestly don't know why they take reservations if they won't honor out door seating. I was so disappointed. We were discouraged by the hostess' lack of care, concern, or engagement. A few of the clams were also on the undercooked side. The crab cake duo had lots of crab meat but overall consistency was a little mushy, not flaky chunky like I'm used to. The side arugula salad was very good. The sun kissed shrimp was delicious. The cashew crusted salmon was a huge piece tender salmon on top of mushroom ponzu rice that was amazing. The carrot ginger miso sauce was a little strong. Our server Bella A. was lovely and very sweet to bring a nice slice of key lime pie for my birthday celebration. Since it's a beautiful day in South Florida, we decided to have lunch overlooking the ocean. Our server Victoria was friendly and informative. If there was an ingredient question she didn't know she would go to the kitchen and ask. It's a nice modern restaurant that's half open so you can feel the ocean breeze and see the gorgeous view from all the tables. If you can find street parking it's $17 for 2 hours. There is a parking garage on the street behind the restaurant that costs $3.50 for two hours. There is a handicap ramp leading up to the restaurant on the side of the restaurant facing lucky fish. We started with the steak tartare. It's prepared table side by the server with a garlic oil. It's served with two pieces of bread and three water crackers. In my opinion, it would be better served with only soft bread and no crunchy crackers. Then we had half a dozen oysters from Prince Edward Island, the horseradish gave it a nice kick. Lastly, the jumbo crab cake, although delicious with a great dipping sauce, was a very small portion so I don't think it should've been considered an entrée. It should've been an appetizer. The restrooms are clean and modern. On a Monday during lunch there was no wait which was nice. read more

When the table asked for dinner menus, he brought 2. There were 7 of us. My wife asked for a menu and he replied that there was one with our friend. Oceanic at the pier in Pompano Beach has a gorgeous setting, but the service and management were deeply disappointing. We were referred by Home2 Suites and given a card for a complimentary appetizer. Because the card said Monday through Friday, we raised that issue beforehand and were encouraged to ask anyway due to the hotel referral. We told our server, Joseph G, about the card at the beginning of the meal. He said nothing. Only when the bill arrived were we told it would not be honored because it was Saturday. What made this worse was the manager's response. Instead of making any effort to address a very obvious misunderstanding, he simply repeated the policy and offered no gesture of goodwill at all. In fact he said we were the second table with the same request from the same hotel. This was not about a $17 appetizer. It was about hospitality, judgment, and how a restaurant chooses to treat its guests. Beautiful location. Disappointing service. Very poor customer recovery. read more

I love spending time at the beach. My sister and her family took me to a restaurant on the Pompano Pier called Oceanic. We picked a table outdoors which was perfect! I love soaking up the sunshine and breathing in the fresh ocean air. There were so many delicious items on the menu to choose from like the ceviche (mahi mahi, lime, tomato, jalapeño, red onion, avocado, cilantro). And the Sun-Kissed Shrimp that my sister ordered in a Thai sweet and spicy chili sauce. I went with the Bacon Blue Burger (Point Reyes Blue, Neuske's bacon, bibb, tomato, truffle aioli on a brioche bun) and it was so good. It also game with herb sea salt fries that were absolutely delicious. Little man also enjoyed the fries along with an order of chicken tenders. Today, stopped at Oceanic for some drinks and encountered the most useless, arrogant and condescending "bartender" around. Says his name is "Ray". Doesn't make eye contact, rolls his eyes when you politely ask for club sold (when his drinks are absolutely disgusting) and has a horrible attitude. Well given its Easter Sunday, we eent for Brunch here with a 2 pm reservation. We weren't seated for almost 45 min after repeatedly being told table will be ready in 30 seconds. We finally got seated and the waitress, who was great, brought us water. A few? Minutes later she took our drink orders. After almost another 20-25 minutes our srinks finally arrived. 3 of us ordered Bloody Marys which were supposed to be garnished with shrimp, a bacon slice, a blue cheese stuffed olive a lime wedge and sliced jalapeños. Well, we were told they ran out of shrimp, and the bacon was just a tiny piece and no olive. I asked the waitress why and she said they're ver busy so just ran out. I said the bar manager should have anticipated this and ordered more. One of our friends sent her's back but i and another guy kept ours though not happy. Our appetizers were very delayed getting out of the kitchen with only one or two of us at a time getting theirs. We were a party of 11 so some were finished before others even began. We gave our main course orders while still waiting for the apps. When the mains started to arrive they also came out a couple at a time. 2 ladies ordered chicken and waffles as their main course and guess what we learned after about 5 minutes that they ran out of waffles!! I told the waitress i know its not your fault but both the Chef and the Bar Manager need to order what they anticipate they'll need plus maybe 10%. So the ladies were told they could order off the dinner menu instead of the brunch menu. One ordered a RibEye steak the other a Filet Mignon. RibEye was cooked to the desired temperature but the Filet came out purple inside, so, back it went for another try at medium rare and once again came out purple cold center. Another try again and it came out well done!!! My god!! The restaurant mgr took off the charges for her which well he should. This is an upscale restaurant and its prob due to crowded conditions, but its been open for years now so I don't know what happened. Maybe new management, who knows. The waitress was very apologetic and said she was embarrassed by the whole thing and that she never had this kind of experience before here.
