Thank you Yelpers for leading me to,this,really great restaurant. In town and staying with locals who didn't know about this Italian Seafood establishment. I was searching Yelp for seafood, and this came up as highly rated. One of the people in our party of 5 adults and a toddler is not a huge fan of seafood, so having Italian options was great. He ordered the special eggplant parmigiana and said it was delicious. The sauce was very good and he cleaned his plate. . Everyone also enjoyed their salads with the ginger dressing. A few even added some balsamic and said the combo was delicious. The wahoo bites we had as an appetizer was crispy and flaky and lovely. Our 16 month old guest enjoyed them as well. I ordered the sesame crusted ahi tuna and Bahamian peas and rice side. The tuna was perfectly cooked and the Bahamian peas and rice were amazing!!! The spicy flavor and beautifully textured rice were the perfect side with the tuna! Others ordered the Linguine Alla Vongole - fresh clams in the shell with garlic scampi sauce and Crazy Bob's Shrimp and Calamari Fra Diavolo with angel hair pasta. There was a generous amount of clams, shrimp and calamari in the respective dishes enjoyed with the wonderful pastas. The generous amount of pasta was taken home. Our sever Agnes was a delight! Very kind and an absolute pleasure! While we were too full and content to have desserts those who live in town said they will need to come back and leave room for the key lime pie. The dining area was decorated with wonderful art and nautical treasures. A few tables exist for outdoor dining. Mostly for two or four diners. Highly recommend Chef Dee's restaurant! read more

This is a hidden gem. We have been here several times. The service is good. They don't rush dinner on top of appetizers so that you can enjoy your food. Everything is delicious. I decided to try this place based on the many positive reviews I'd seen. Not sure if we just came at an "off" time, or what, but our experience was NOT good at all. We were the only guests in there. Sat at the sushi bar. The presentation was definitely unappealing Food was just ok. The chef/server/bar tender (all the same fellow) never left from standing DIRECTLY in front of us about 2 feet away for our entire meal. Made us super uncomfortable. Sorry to say, that based on this experience, we will not be back to this place. read more

My wife and I were pleasantly surprised by how good this restaurant was. It's a nice looking place inside with a nice ambience. The staff was very friendly and we didn't have to wait for anything. They came to the table several times throughout our meal and made us feel very welcome. We started with their Clams Casino and I have to say this was probably one of the best versions of clam casino that we had . Great flavor super fresh. The melted cheese was a brilliant addition and the bacon was super crispy. For dinner, I had their ocean roll with no jalapeños, and my wife had the linguine with clams. The role was excellent. I love the Seabass on top and the lobster was fresh and tender on the inside of the role. My wife's linguine with clams had a great flavor. The only negative I can say is that it was a very dry dish. There wasn't a lot of sauce to dip bread in our to pickup with the past. Definitely going to return to this location we enjoyed ourselves . read more

I come to Chef Dee's each time I visit this area and am usually impressed by their eclectic menu and family owned ambience. Tonight I had conch soup and cold stoned crabs which were excellent. Intrigued, I ordered as an entre Crazy Bob's shrimp and clams Fra Diavalo over angel hair. It arrived smothered in a red sauce so heavily laden with kimchi and red pepper flakes the dish was inedible. An hour later, my mouth was still burning. I have eaten in restaurants on every contingent except Antarctica and for the first time ever felt compelled to send a meal back. Instead of the chef coming out to apologize or find out what was wrong, the server became surly and wanted to challenge my impression of the meal. Her unprofessional attitude completely soured the experience. I will not be returning to this establishment. read more

We brought our fresh tuna to Chef Dee's after our fishing trip and it turned into one of the most unforgettable dining experiences we have ever had. This was our first time bringing fresh fish to a restaurant and from the moment we walked in we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The owners asked what kind of food we enjoyed and told us they would take care of everything. And they did. They transformed our blackfin tuna into sushi, sashimi and blackened tuna. Every dish was outstanding. The flavors, the freshness and the presentation were all exceptional. It was easily one of the best meals we have had in our entire lives. The staff made us feel like family. We left with full bellies, happy hearts and lots of hugs. If you want a restaurant that delivers incredible food, amazing service and a true "we have you covered" experience, Chef Dee's is the place. We cannot wait to return. read more

It's been years since I reviewed this restaurant. It's been enlarged! The food is still fantastic. Comped homemade bread was served. We started with the shrimp cakes. Delicious!! For the entree, I had the Snapper Florentine (mkt price). It comes with a side. I choose Angel hair pasta, but instead of red sauce, I requested the sauce that comes over the fish. Exceptional! I'll be honest, my fiancé brought me here and I wasn't sure about it because the menu seemed all over the place and somewhat limited. I'm gluten intolerant and with their menu, we didn't have many options to pick from and they don't have gluten free soy sauce. We ended up ordering 3 rolls, the JB Roll, lighthouse point roll (added cream cheese) and the special rainbow. All 3 rolls were incredibly fresh and the ratio of fish was impressive! I am often in Florida on my birthday. In 2023 we happened on Chef Dee's and were delighted. In 2024, I purposely chose it. They have expanded a bit. The new bar does not have hooks to hang purses underneath, which seems like a no-brainer to make sure those are there on new construction. My shrimp tempura roll was tasty, but the upcharge for soy paper in place of nori was $4-more than 25% of the original cost of the roll: I'm used to paying an upcharge, but never that much. read more

What great hidden gem of a Seafood restaurant. The Oysters and Shrimp Cakes were delicious. The Sushi Dinner was so fresh and delicious. The Pumpkin Swordfish dish was amazingly excellent! The Shrimp cocktail and two huge lobster tails dish were fantastic. All and all, my only regret is not to have known about this place sooner. Definitely a hip little place in Pompano.It was pouring rain the day we came here so we practically had the whole place to ourselves. We ordered edamame, sushi roll and sashimi. Lunch is served from 11:30 am.-3:00 pm. The weird thing is they also have hamburger and fries here as well as cajun chicken sandwich and chicken fried rice with egg. So I can't figure that out. But we were very happy with our food. The dishes are of a more than normal size but all very good. It is located in a small shopping plaza that you could easily pass by. Give it a whirl. read more

Based on 5-star YELP REVIEWS we went to Chef Dee's for an excellent dinning experience. We were terribly disappointed. The wahoo appetizer was excellent, however the stone crab claws and cocktail shrimp were of poor quality. The shrimp were past their prime, and half of the claws were "floaters." The soft shell crab tasted fine, but afterwards there were persistent abdominal pains and associated problems. The lobster tails were small and tasted old. The food was not good! The bar service was okay, but who charges $21 for a vodka martini? I'm not going back - and I suggest that you don't either. read more

Simple things do the difference. And the proof it's when we got this restaurant. I was looking for some sushi place and as a Brazilian, i know that we used to look for a Brazilian place. Not on this night. Chef Dee's has a great and fresh sushi experience, with delicious dishes with super cool combinations. Definitely i recommend this place. The food is very expensive and bland. The worse part is the ambience. There is none. The service was slow. I'd never tried this place and took friends and none of us will return. It looks like an old bar. It's noisy. They need to remodel and buy new tables and chairs at least. read more
