I live in Deerfield Beach and have visited this wonderful, small restaurant several times and they have not disappointed me. They have a cozy atmosphere with a couple of TV's inside and several tables outside if you wish to eat outside. Their food is excellent and the service is exceptional. The staff is attentive and friendly. The ceviche is delicious and so far the lomo saltado is the best I've tasted. We were heading to Deerfield Beach and wanted a quick bite. We popped in here because I was in the mood for some ceviche. It's a Peruvian restaurant. We asked which ceviche is their best and she recommended the Ceviche Mixto. It was ready just a few minutes after and we walked over to the beach to enjoy it. She packaged it nicely to make sure nothing spilled. And the crunchy corn was packaged separately so it wouldn't get soggy. Thoughtful! It was super delicious! Pukara is a family-owned Peruvian restaurant conveniently located within walking distance of the beach, with available parking. Our family tried a variety of dishes, starting with the Jalea, a fried seafood platter. While the portion was smaller than what you typically find at other Peruvian restaurants, the seafood was fresh. I just wish there had been more calamari, fish, shrimp, and fried yucca. We also ordered the Chicken (Pollo) Chaufa and the Seafood Chaufa. Both dishes came in small portions, and the seafood was only placed on top of the rice. Sadly, they lacked the distinctive Chaufa flavor and tasted a bit bland. The Lomo Saltado beef was tender but similarly lacked seasoning, and the Ají Amarillo was just okay. On a positive note, the service was excellent, and the ambiance felt warm and inviting. It seems the food might have been adjusted to cater to a more traditional or less adventurous palate. Peruvian cuisine is renowned for its rich flavors and Asian influences, and I believe it has the potential to be truly exceptional. read more

Wow! Wow! Amazing! It was lunch time, I was working in the area and pulled up Yelp to look for a close spot to eat. This place was less than a mile away. And with 4.9 stars I had to check it out. I love Peruvian food! So we went in, hand a seat and I ordered the Lomo Saltado. The presentation, once the plate arrived was beautiful. During our Deerfield Beach stay we capped the trip with a lunch at a local Peruvian restaurant called Pukara. Across the street from the beaches you will this small and homey establishment where they service classic Peruvian cuisine. We ordered several dishes that included salchipapa, pork sandwich, pesado à la macho, and causa and ceviche combo. The first item to arrive was the salchipapa which is a bed of French fries with diced hot dogs on top which is considered typical Peruvian comfort food. Unfortunately I found the dish too bland and the portion was too small. The causa with the ceviche had more flavor and the fish was very fresh. The pork sandwich was the traditional Peruvian version with a well baked bun sliced sweet potatoes and crispy pork but gave me a weird after taste. The main entree the fish à la macho is a fried fished drenched in a cheese based sauce, tasty and very rich. Like I mentioned the food was good but not the best. read more

The best food we had in Deerfield. The ceviche was some of the best I've had. Seafood was fresh and tender. Entrees were wonderful--had the fried seafood and seafood paella. My husband and I always do our staycation at the Wyndham for our Anniversary Weekend... this was our first time trying this establishment. I see why they have five stars. The food is truly AMAZING . Everything we had was excellent, including: Causa de pollo - 5/5, this appetizer was a wonderful combination of mashed potatoes, avocado, and shredded chicken with incredible flavors Pulpo a la parnilla - 5/5, while octopus is not my favorite (have you watched "My Octopus Teacher"?), this was very tasty Ensalada de la casa - 4/5, a good salad, but the portion was a bit small Aji de gallina - 5*/5, this shredded chicken with some sliced potatoes in a creamy curry-like sauce (but not super spicy, not curry like you might encounter in Indian food), with a side of rice was the best! i could just drink this sauce it was so good! If not doing takeout, I'd love to try their ceviches and fish (I don't like doing takeout fish). Highly recommend! read more

My cousin recommended we eat here, he's a local and he doesn't even like seafood but I can see why he chose this place. Parking is a pain, you have to pay everywhere you go because it's so close to the beach but once you get that out of the way you're in for a treat. It's a small restaurant with some tables inside and a few outside if you want to brave the FL heat. I definitely wanted to try ceviche and I didn't know which one to get...so I got the trio! AMAZING!!! I loved them so much, you can share or just dig in yourself and it's super filling. My brother got the chicharron de pescado, the fish is so crunchy and perfectly made, it just falls apart so juicy and beautifully. My husband got the chicharron de calamari, another hit but not as wonderful as the pescado. Cousin got the chaufa which, again...such a big portion, we all got to try and he even took the rest home. Sister-in-law got the lomo saltado and she said it was the best she's had, PLUS they have the gravy(?) on the side so the fries don't get soggy. Yummy! Pukara on the Beach was opened about a month ago in Deerfield right by the beach and am happy it did. I was strolling in the right place at the right time when this restaurant caught my eye. It's a small location a very short walk to the ocean front. The quality of ceviche is great and the juice is so so tasty! Everything tasted fresh. Small location with inside and outside seating. I visited with another Peruvian friend around 9pm on a Friday night. (We definitely both approve of the food). The manager ( or owner ? - wish I caught his name) chatted with us and he was a pleasure to speak with. The Ceviche Al Rocoto juice is on the creamier side and was a great pick paired with the yuca. They have another location that's been around longer in Boca with high rating as well. I would definitely want to try that location in the future. read more

Food was delicious! We split the vuelva la vida and the fish was fresh and the lemon juice marinade was tangy and flavorful. For dinner I got the Lomo Saltado which was FANTASTIC, they give you cubed filet mignon and nice sized onions and tomatoes. On the side they gave a nice serving of white rice and fries and delicious thin gravy to eat with the steak. My husband got the Mango Sour to drink and it was really tasty! For dinner he got the chaufa de Mariscos. The chaufa was just okay, a little heavy on the finger flavor and the seafood was just fine but did not stand out to us. Overall we will be coming back! The yuca side only came with 4 pieces but it was still cheap at $5. read more

Oh my god. We're still sitting here and I'm writing this review. The fact that it's my first review EVER says a lot. The food is amazing. It's fresh and has layers and layers of flavors.
