We had a good late lunch here. It was so hot -- with feel like temps in the 90s -- that I was craving something cold and refreshing. The restaurant is located in a strip on the east side of US1. After we came in, we recognized the location. We'd been here before long ago when it was another restaurant. After looking over the menu, I decided on their shrimp ceviche. They do have a number of lunch specials, but not what I had been craving. My husband thought he'd get their fish and shrimp ceviche, but it turned out the fish was swai/tilapia. Not his favorite. And to get corvina fish instead was an additional $8. So he wound up getting the shrimp ceviche, also. While we waited for our food, we snacked on those Peruvian roasted salted corn kernels. They are addictive. The shrimp ceviche was very good. Lots of shrimp along with large fresh corn kernels, roasted kernels, and red onion slices. All in a citrus marinade. There was also a chunk of sweet potato (yam?). I added some additional squeezes of lime juice as well. For lunch, it was rather an expensive meal, but it was exactly what I needed on that hot almost summer day! read more

The food here is both filling and fantastic. The lomo saltado was incredibly savory, and the fish was grilled to perfection. I also loved the presentation of the lomo saltado--especially the little flower, which I thought was a cute touch. I had a mango drink, which was delicious and creamy. You can choose between water or milk, and I opted for water to make it a mango fresca. While waiting for the meal, they served some cancha, which are Peruvian corn nuts--a nice little snack. The restaurant was pretty empty when I arrived, so the food came out quickly. The ambiance and music were pleasant. As I came back to Florida after many years of absence I stumbled upon this spot near my hotel. This is a well known establishment in Florida, and the Peruvian food here is to die for, their Arroz Chaufa with Mariscos, and Ceviche Mixto (of course) is spectacular. Upon arriving to door I was greeting by very friendly staff and was told to sit wherever, love that. I don't get to Lighthouse Point often and when I do I usually head to The Fish Shack (review coming soon.) But a hot day made me crave something cool. Ceviche! And right up the way is Sr Ceviche. What a nice clean little place. The menu is well defined for us non Peruvians. I knew that I wanted fish and shrimp and they delivered. The choice was corvina and mahi. I chose corvina. The courteous server (I gotta remember to get their names) asked how spicy I desired. I replied, "spicy!". Ok he said with a wink. Also ordered a side of yucca fries. Omg it was some of the best ceviche I've ever had. And bountiful. Tart, juicy, tender. When I requested a go box for what I couldn't finish the server warned me that I shouldn't let it sit overnight as the lime juices would make the seafood tough the next day. He was right! I ate the rest for dinner and could tell that it had firmed up but still delicious. Sr Ceviche is a quaint welcoming place with an array of ceviche and other Peruvian dishes. Love me a Latin restaurant, even more when it's Peruvian! Came here for lunch on a weekend and it was pretty quiet which was great because we didn't have to wait to be seated. We were the only guests on a Saturday afternoon. We received some nice recommendations from our waiter. The menu looked overwhelming and it was so hard to choose! " I told him what I wanted as he was walking away. Secondly I didn't care for his smart Alec remark...i asked if the ceviche had Milk in it...it did...normally they don't but he told me it did after the order was already put in...he asked why? I told him I'm highly allergic to milk...he sarcastically with a gay laugh said "you can't eat it even though it has a little bit of milk.?"who TF says that to a customer?! I said no I will go to the hospital if I do...he had the audacity to say okay I'll give it to you to go and you can order another without milk. Our food was delicious but one of the orders was not communicated properly. It's ok, bc whatever we ordered still tasted good. What rubbed me the wrong way is that for a party of 4 they added gratuity, maybe it's because our server thought we wouldn't tip? Usually a larger party I would understand automatically adding an 18% tip. However we were a small party and even though the server did not deserve 18%, we will would have tipped 20%. I have been coming to Sr Ceviche in LHP for a few years now and it has always been a really great quality place to stop and get lunch. Going back today, I found that their lunch menu was removed and all prices have been increased. The pounding EDM music and the slight decorative changes of wine bottles and a candle on the table don't justify the menu changes made, it's still the same food. The outdoor patio chairs for indoor dining are uncomfortable. This has become a dinner only establishment unfortunately and service has slowed down immensely. Likely my last time here unfortunately. It was Christmas Day. We woke up late, the presents unwrapped and gifts exchanged, coffee and snacks abound, it was a slow lazy start to the day and it was off to a good start. But we were ready for lunch just a few hours later and the problem was that most everything was closed. My GF started to run down the list of places she knows nearby and nothing was open, so we decided to take a ride. Not more than a few minutes from her house, we spotted a plaza looking pretty empty but one corner shop and a bright neon OPEN sign. Taking a hard left, almost cutting off a cop car, we swung around and yup, they were open. Inside the restaurant was well designed, easy to move around the tables and tastefully decorated. When we arrived it was a bit noisy and a little too air-conditioned, so we opted to sit outside in the shade. That was perfect... Upon getting seated, we were brought those roasted crunchy corn nibbles which I find irresistible, so naturally, I ate them all. I tried to go slow but I couldn't. So don't bring me to dinner if you want to share them. We hadn't considered Ceviche before arriving but the menu looked excellent, we decided to start with a fish and seafood mixto. We shared it and were please with the portion size, but not please with the pile of raw red sliced onions on top, and they were easily (and immediately) removed. The flavor was wonderful, the sauce was so delicious that we consumed it all with a soup spoon after all the seafood was gone. We were still hungry so we decided to order Parihuela soup. We've enjoyed Peruvian food before, we have an excellent restaurant where I live in Lantana. This was on par with my past experiences ordering Parihuela, but here the amount of seafood in the soup was not as much as we had expected or as varied. Yet, it was delicious, satisfying and it was exactly what we needed for a light but filling meal. The wait staff was wonderful, very attentive, very accommodating and friendly. We had questions about the menu and we felt like we were welcome. I also found out they have an all-you-can-eat Ceveche night, I think it's Thursday and the price sounded reasonable. Now that's what might get me back! Good food, good service, nice location, lots of parking and quality ingredients are how it's done right and Sr Ceviche scores a home run! If you have a hungering for some really good ceviche, Sr Ceviche - Lighthouse Point, is the place. I've been here a couple of times and always warmly greeted and seated. Now with the Covid-19 pandemic in full bloom, things are more difficult. They do have a paper menu, but unless you have magnifying glasses you won't be able to read, so you're best off scanning that code thing menu they have on every tabletop. The food here is fresh and tasty but the portions tend to run on the small with prices not all that easy on the wallet but worth it for the quality. The one thing that bothered me about the place on my most recent visit was staff mask-wearing. My waiter wore his mask leaving his nose uncovered, then worse, had the habit of pulling his mask down when he went to speak. A food preparer didn't even bother with his mask, merely allowing it to hang around his neck. So, for failing to follow health guidelines, minus one star. There's no excuse for it and they're endangering their customers; hence, a pretty big deal. Sr Ceviche has a decently large size menu offering of some 17 different ceviche, Entradas, Taco like Tacus, Traditos, chef special recommendations, and dishes of meat and chicken. On previous occasions, I've had their Ceviche Mixto and their shrimp ceviche (Ceviche de Camarones); both very good. This time I ordered their "Ceviche Pulpo" (octopus) with dark olive sauce from the Botija olive, or at least it had that distinctive taste. That is not cool. Having to SWAT a fly with our hands constantly on our date is disgusting. I ordered take out from their online service. I show up at the restaurant to find out they gave my food away to someone without even checking who was picking it up. Then they proceeded to argue with me for 15 minutes because they claimed I already picked it up. The main person handling the situation kept looking at receipts expecting me to give up. All he did was give me excuses. After 15 minutes they finally agreed to give me a new order. Even after I provided the last four digits of my credit card, gave him my phone number and showed him my emailed receipt to prove my purchase, he asked to see my ID. Wish he had done that with the first person he had given my order to... would have saved me 30 minutes and a lot of stress and hassle.
