I used to really enjoy Chifa Tay Pa it was one of my go to spots for flavorful, satisfying chifa dishes. The Arroz Chaufa, Pollo Chijaukay, and Tallarin Saltado were always flavorful and felt authentic. Portions were generous, and the fusion of Chinese and Peruvian flavors was spot on. Unfortunately, something has changed recently. The last few times I visited, the food hasn't tasted the same. The flavors feel muted, portions seem a little smaller, and even the texture of some dishes feels off like the rice being too dry or the meats not as well seasoned as before. It's disappointing, especially after having such consistently good meals in the past. Service is still friendly, and the restaurant is clean and casual, which I appreciate. But it's hard not to notice the dip in quality. I'm hoping it's just a temporary issue, because I really want to see this place return to the great food it used to serve.

Quick service we ordered apps and the food came like 2 minutes later no exaggeration either the food was family style so we end up taking a lot Togo I give the food 3 stars nothing fancy or stand outish,,, only one other table inside and the sodas are canned which I prefer.

    Superb Won Ton Soup

Had not been in a year so thought of trying it sit down on New Year's Day when I realized it was, in fact, open for business on this New Year 2024 holiday because it has a "extra" ingredients SPECIAL Won Ton soup I find tasty. I actually called ahead and the woman was friendly on the telephone. After parking in lot close to road and Bus Stop I was disappointed to see all the trash from that bus stop piling up along the perimeter of Chifa Tapay's parking lot. Oh, well ... that's outside. Go in hoping to sit in the storefront window (table) only to see said corner is gone due to a renovation expanding the Takeout Counter. Get to table and, despite nearly empty but for one female waiting for a Takeout order, server takes a long time coming over. No greet. It may have been something along the lines of "Do you know what you want?" Ordered two (2) drinks but she only brought one so I had to remind that I wanted to second drink, too, and could it be brought over? Placed an order for the fancy Especial (Special) Won Ton soup featuring shrimp, chicken strips, and pork. I liked the chicken strips the least. I wanted chopsticks and would have asked but server never returned while eating to see if anything else was needed. Employees such as the cashier and a male kitchen worker were wandering to and from eating as they paraded from the front of the house to the back of the house (kitchen). Cashier was eating a sandwich brought from home while he (male kitchen worker) took a seat at table by kitchen to eat soup while talking on speaker phone then picking his teeth with a toothpick. It grew loud with not only his speaker phone noise but the waiting customer loudly on her cellphone too. The eggrolls were veggie egg rolls and they were just okay. I expected them before the main Soup entree but they, in fact, came out after the soup. Food was almost as good as I remembered but seemed like a smaller portion than I remembered getting here in past. I'll omit the chicken from the Won Ton soup meal if I return. I disagree with employees walking around eating & being on personal speaker phone while restaurant is open. Just wish I could have had chopsticks. Three (3) stars.

I'm glad I arrived early because I took the last parking spot. Just myself today, so I narrowed it down to bare essentials, egg drop soup, egg roll, spare ribs, and shrimp fried rice. It's no longer as beat-up looking. They've cleaned up the front area and the entranceway, so the curb appeal is much better. The food is still excellent for American Chinese style stuff -- and the Chifa dishes are also excellent, but that's not why I went today. I wanted spare ribs. The soup comes out hotter than lava. Egg rolls are smaller, but they have natural roast pork in them, and whatever they are frying it in makes them taste phenomenal. Ribs are meaty with the typical sticky sauce you want on them. Fried rice, for some reason, tastes better here than any American-style place in the area, the Peruvians know what the hell they are doing and when it comes to roast pork they don't mess around either. I don't know if it's the specific soy sauce or MSG, or whatever mystery condiment is going into it (likely the wok hey from a 100,000 BTU burner and the oil mix too) but this is the crave-worthy fried rice. Nothing in Broward beats it for American Chinese.

Absolutely love this place, the food is great and the service is very quick. I love that it's a great place for family dining. My family, friends and I enjoy eating here frequently and they're very accommodating. Definitely a place you want to try if you want fresh tasty delicious Chinese food.

Lomo saltado at Chifa Tay Pa

Multiple recs from present, removed and blocking SoFla FB dining-group members so when the queen dragged me to a no-fun north Broward run, we added a pair of stops, including one at Chifa Tay Pa, a Chinese-Peruvian eatery in Margate on 441 just south of Atlantic. Wish my poor Español was mejor but the gringo menu es bueno and they habla both tongues tho next time I'll Google Translate their website. Regardless, special won ton soup (plenty for 2-3 ppl) was muy delicioso; pork fried rice as awesome as an old online compañero had raved; chicken wings (the shellfish-allergic queen's request) were super-crispy and tasty; lomo saltado was solid but we'd've appreciated a little more beef. Took out spareribs for mañana along with the rest of the leftovers from the ample portions. A return visit pronto -- maybe with the Legion of Larrys + pals 'n gals -- would be great so we can sample the menu beyond our decidely pedestrian selections.

My husband ordered a "margarita" and after tasting it we realized it wasn't actually tequila but priced like there was. Service was rather slow for a restaurant with higher end menu items. The server came by only a few times during our meal and at one point I felt like he forgot we were there even though he kept passing by us. We would have ordered more food but his lack of attention made up decide to not try anything else. I joked with my husband that "we live here now" because we sat at the table with empty plates and drinks for nearly 25 min before my husband had to flag down the waiter for the check. I feel like this place has so much potential because the food was good but unfortunately it was a huge miss for us.

The restaurant is very nicely decorated and modern. We celebrated our friend's birthday dinner and everyone loved their food. I shared the Huancaina fettuccine and the Teriyaki Entraña Sushi roll. Both were phenomenal and I would go as far as to say this is one of my favorite sushi rolls of all time. I also think theirs is the best huancaina sauce I've had due to a cheesy profile that it has (and I am a cheese lover). We also had a Maracuyá Pisco Sour, which was beautifully presented and the perfect balance of flavors. You could definitely taste the Pisco, but it was not too strong. Our service was also phenomenal. Our server checked on us often and was very friendly. While the prices are a little high, the quality and flavors make it worthwhile. I definitely will be back and highly recommend for Peruvian / Nikkei food lovers like myself.

We visited Mancora for dinner and enjoyed several items. As an appetizer, we started with the Chorros à la Chalaca which are one of my favorites. They came fully loaded with all of the toppings! I was very impressed by the sauce on the Tacu Tacu and will consider ordering that as my entree in the future. The tacos were my entree and I found them to be very well portioned in terms of filling and the flavors were phenomenal, especially with the accompanying sauces. Perhaps the best part of the meal was our dessert - picarones! Our waiter did warn us that they are not exactly like "traditional" Peruvian picarones, but they are so delicious nonetheless. They come out freshly made and warm with plenty of syrup. They also have delicious pisco sours and offer Inca cola! In terms of seating, the restaurant is very large, so there is always space available. The service was very attentive and food came out in a very reasonable timeframe. I had a great time the first time, and yep it's still that girl. Let's talk about the vibe real quick. The ambiance is everything. Modern, and just really well put together. Let's get down to the items shall we? What We Had Drinks ____________________ + Naori Signature Drink ($15) : 8.4/10 This one's made with Pisco Berries and Triple Sec. It's a layered, fruity cocktail that's a little more complex. Personally, I prefer the Pisco Sour it's cleaner and more balanced for my taste. But if you like citrusy and berry-forward drinks, you might love this one. Again, these are my reviews based on my taste buds.
