The only reason why Im giving three stars is because the two people I interacted with were nice. I really wanted to like this place as Im Peruvian and it is really close to where I live but i was disappointed. First, the ceviche de pescado was made with a fish similar to grouper that I've never heard of. The presentation was ok but flavour wise, it was missing, quite a bit. I had to add salt to it. I asked for medium spicy and had to also add more rocoto to it to make it more appealing. The canchita was not as fresh as you would like and it didn't come with choclo, just camote. The onion seemed it was not washed properly as it was a bit bitter and technically it added it to the overall flavour. I also ordered Chaufa de Pollo, was excited about this one and it was another disappointment. It was slightly uncooked, not the Chaufa flavour had no egg, only chicken, rice and green onion. The chicha was not good either. It had a bitterness to it, almost like it was about to go bad. They also gave me extra sauces, one was rocoto, which was good; some sort of mayo or vinaigrette and the other one, i had no idea what it was as it tasted like watery mayo slightly spicy. I know how to prepare all this dishes myself as a Peruvian and as culinary educated person, unfortunately this is inspired in Peru but not getting the mark. If things like this, which are minimal, end up being fixed, will love to come back and do another review. Hope you guys get better. Prices are slightly elevated for not true flavour. read more

Ordered whole fried snapper and seafood soup which contained lots of seafood. Everything was delicious. Almost perfect with exception that white rice had a number of undercooked grains of rice. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE how hole in the wall, mom and pop feel that they have! There's a few tables inside and you can see into the kitchen as you are literally ordering the food. They have a seafood case next to the register so you know everything is fresh! I always get the ceviche! It is my top pick and the portion is huge for only $12! I feel like it's for about 2 people and they have a great acidity to cilantro to onion ratio which I feel most places lack. I also recommend the arroz con mariscos! So it's basically yellow rice with stir fried seafood with it. It's sooo good and addicting and I believe better than the fried rice due to the sauce that they make with it. The portion is huge for this dish too! It was $18 but I had to share it with 2 other people to finish it. read more

I love Peruvian and Dive places but this place is really, really poor quality. We ordered 3 entrees and returned one because the meat was rancid and didn't eat the 2nd of the 3. The Shrimp and Garlic was fine but the Lomo Saltado and Seafood Platter were awful and of very poor quality. Nothing about this place (from the sticky tables to the building to the food suggest quality). Came here for the 1st time after reading such great reviews. They did not disappoint! We started with the mixed seafood ceviche, spicy. It was PERFECT. Perfectly spiced and tangy, with fresh seafood. We also got the beef chaufa (not pictured) and the whole fried snapper. The food was fresh and well seasoned. The plate of fish was HUGE, the picture really doesn't do it justice. This is my first visit to Mr. Fish, for the price and value and I am impressed. Mr. Fish is a nice casual restaurant to hang out with friends after a long day at work while pounding down a couple of beers. My go to place for "high end" Peruvian cuisine is still Ceviche 105 in Miami for its presentation and quality but Mr. Fish provides a different atmosphere that's more relaxed. I had the Mix Seafood Ceviche and I was pretty good, my only complaint with it is that they used imitation krab instead of the real thing but hey, you get what you pay for. read more

The last time, I don't know if the place is under new administration or chef but even my husband was disappointed. The soup was horrible . Stopped in on Sunday afternoon for lunch. The place is small and immaculately clean. They only serve FRESH seafood which is in the front cooler as you walk in. A major indication of a quality fish restaurant is the smell and there was none; all the fish looks great and they say they get fish delivered 2x a day. The food was incredible!! We started with the seafood mix cerviche which we got spicy. It was served with fresh toasted corn nuts and yucca which was seasoned very boldly. For main course we then got the seafood rice and Jalea (fried seafood mix). There were huge shrimp, calamari, muscles, and grouper in both. The breading was light and airy and it was all cooked perfectly. I think between all three dishes we had 5lbs of seafood! The only slight downside was that a couple of the clams were slightly over cooked, but NO big deal, by no means enough to subtract a star. It was $60 for all that seafood and two sodas, a great bargain! This place is brand new, so run, don't walk there now before everyone finds out and you have to wait in line. We have been waiting for a great place like this to open in Margate and it has, at last! After having the fantastic seafood on all previous visits i tried the Beef Saltado (beef stir fry) and it was GREAT! Beef, onions, tomatoes on A BED OF FRENCH FRIES (nothing wrong with that!) and scoop of white rice. So for any of your friends who don't like seafood they can try this (it also can come with chicken). read more

It's a tiny joint...their English is weak (not a big deal) the marketing/brand image is certainly not catchy. However, BA-BAM!!! The food is nothing short of spectacular! Against my will, my wife wanted to try this place out. The staff was friendly and inviting...we ordered the Ceviche (NOT prepared with Tilapia, but rather Grouper!) and was probably the best I've had in a LONG time. We also ordered the Paella - just amazing!! Flavors were spot-on and they did not skimp on quality or on the amount of food they give you. The only downside is, even though the restaurant looks inexpensive, it's up there in price. Not outrageous, but you will pay. You always do, for the best! Their food is as good as it gets! My husband visited their restaurant before me. He ordered their lunch special with a side of plantains. It wasn't until he got home, checked his food, he realized they gave him fries instead. I figured it was a simple mistake. Later that week, I ordered the same thing. When I said I wanted plantains, the guy heard me very clearly and said yes ok. After I pay and get my food. Guess what? NO PLANTAINS. He gave me tostones instead. I politely said that he gave me the wrong thing. Without missing a beat, he replied, "yes I know that. We don't have plantains right now so I gave you tostones in place of it." Well thanks for the heads up dude! If you dont have something, tell me so that i can pick a different side.
