I've been coming here since I was a kid. Dozens if not over 100 times since around 2008. Not sure why I haven't reviewed this besides the fact it's been about a year since I've indulged. It's latin/Peruvian food. You get your food fast but I wouldn't consider it a fast-food restaurant if that makes sense. #1 thing that I've noticed is their consistency. Shrinkflation hasn't hit here yet. In my opinion you're getting the same Kg of meat, same size, cooked the same, same amount of seasoning, same temperature every time. The same cup of rice and the same semi-watery black beans. Trust me, it all pairs well with eachother. I love their sauce bar! I'm an onion guy and love the fact they offer sauces with a heavy amount of diced onions. Their mild and hot sauces add a creamy flavor with a touch of heat. 4 stars isn't being too nice or too stingy on a rating. You need to try this place, or one of their many locations. It's the exact hole in the wall you're looking for. I absolutely love this place and wouldn't change a thing. You can tell it's a local favorite as it's always crowded, both with dine in and take out. Prices went with the flow of the economy. I went to go grab a meal in store for my grandmother and I today ( 01/31/2026 ) at 4pm and the staff management was truly the worst I have ever seen and experienced. Every individual I had interacted with that took and "assisted" me with my order was so rude and arrogant as if I was a walking threat in their restaurant. I will not lie, the food is wonderful but their staff management and overall customer service is absolutely horrendous. This is the first review I have ever wrote and left on any establishment, but I was utterly amazed with my experience ordering food in their restaurant. Being unsure on where to go, Pops and I decided to take a drive to our local La Granja! Going inside, there was a good amount of seating and limited wait. We ordered a half chicken with rice & beans and plantains with 2 drinks for $15! Moving into my review, all these years, I thought la brasa and pollo tropical was the best in terms of quality and bang for your buck, but I was wrong. That 1/2 chicken was perfectly seasoned, possessed addictively spiced skin, and super tender! The yellow rice was fluffy, black beans creamy, and ripe sweet plantains. Moreover, there were plenty of tasty sauce options from the cilantro green sauce to creamy white sauce and their spicy red. I've always bought chicken soup from the Pembroke Pines location but now I moved to margate and I went to the one on 6599 W Atlantic Blvd. It was terrible!!! Watered down to the point of no color or taste, one piece of chicken, two small pieces of carrots and one piece of potato. It was truly so bad I could not eat it and threw it out. My son ordered chicken breast and it had so many red onions on top you could barely see the chicken. Almost $9.00 for the soup and $15.95 for the chicken. The service is probably the worst I've seen in years, and that's tough and tragic for me to say. I've been coming here for almost 20 years and though the service has steadily been decreasing, today was too funny to be true. No compromise, no smile, no thank you or please come again. Wow, that felt super unwelcoming to say the least, definitely won't be coming back. It wasn't because they increased their prices (significantly), it wasn't because the quality of the food went from mid-high to low, it wasn't because I craved them that I came in. I was simply starving, and though McDonald's is literally right down the street from this location, 1/4 of their price, and pretty good customer service, but because at least through everything I genuinely believed the service was pleasantly decent. It has always felt welcoming, even if you weren't up to come anymore. Nope, that feeling has been taken away too. I'm very disappointed at this location, they're right off of Atlantic Blvd, across the street from a gas station in the city of Margate. Now something that is good, is the atmosphere the customers bring, when I say the customers who come are inclusive and kind, my words do no justice. Good people who've had la granja in the past and had an amazing experience, always come back. They come back grateful and with a smile. I met the sweetest couple visiting from Cali, may their trip back home be safe and they have a beautiful holiday, as well as the family and young gentleman who held the door for me, god bless them. The people in the line, were kind, and made room, etc. the customers who come in will make you feel better then the customer service experienced today. So that would be the only reason to come in, as unfortunate as that is for me to say, it's the truth. I'm half Peruvian, so I cook the exact same things they "sell", however their food is no longer authentic. Trust me I can tell. Their service was decently good, at least it was. :( I'd say try the other location down the street, that's right you heard me there's more, one off of 441 & Atlantic Blvd. buo be honest it's becoming increasingly difficult to find good authentic Peruvian food. You could say I'm picky, you could say I've refined my tastebuds, but trust me I know the recipe. No one follows the recipe anymore, and THAT's what makes it authentic. When they make it right, it doesn't matter the price, the look, shoot the service can even mean mug me, but the food will always have me coming back. Not this time, and sadly this will be my last. This place was such a treat while visiting Florida. My sister in law lives in Coral Springs and she said I had to try it. I ordered the 1/2 lb steak platter, my sister in law ordered chicken and steak mixta platter and my man got the steak fajitas. Everything was tasty and had big portions! One plate can feed two people. I highly recommend this place and for a family order the family platter for $47. They even have a drive thru which is super cool. read more

I eat La Granja every time I'm in Florida, and then I crave it for weeks when I leave. This is your no frills, local, authentic spot for really flavorful food. I've been to four different locations over the last few months and each one holds the same, consistent quality. My favorite dishes are the fish and beef. Surprisingly, I haven't ordered a chicken plate (yet!). I always get every sauce/onion offering. Trust me, they pack a punch and bring a jolt of flavor to the dish. I was very apprehensive on my first visit because I'm not a huge onion eater, but believe me, you're going to want to get extras! I love La Granja and I hope they make their way north! If I could give 0 stars I would. Called about an incorrect order, as well as undercooked noodles that I paid $22 for (which I was willing to bring back). I placed the order on DoorDash which I understand but at the end of the day DoorDash only delivered it. Called to come back in and get something else instead however the person that answered the phone was so rude and disrespectful. They said " I don't have time for this, call DoorDash". Man I gotta say, after a hard gym workout or when you're starving La Granja is the perfect place to eat. Been here a couple times in the last few weeks I went once with my mom just now & with my wife last week. There is definitely something about the yellow rice that I really like... maybe it's MSG? I'm kidding. Or maybe it's a little oil & a hint of salt for old-school culinary. Both times I got the boneless chicken breast and then my wife did the same. Today my mom picked the steak which is number 8 on the menu and she gave me her onions! I felt so blessed, lol. The flavor, the way the chicken is grilled with the char is so juicy along with the tenderness of the meat... man you can get lost in a whirlwind of calories here my guy(or gal)! That one is terrible however if you're willing to drive another five minutes on Atlantic this one is what it supposed to be. I love me some La Granja! I always get the same thing, and so does my hubby. We get the chicken breast meal with yellow rice, black beans, plantains, and your choice of drink. They have several yummy sauces and different marinated toppings you can add to your meal. I am obsessed with the green sauce. I don't know what it is, but it's damn good! Customer service I live a few minutes away and wanted to preorder a few family meals so it could cut down on the wait time. I called the store 6 times and no one answered. When I arrived at the restaurant it was not even busy. I called the store while inside and the employees just let it ring. No one cares to answer. So one point out the window for that. So I was a little too lazy to cook dinner last night. Story of my life! but as much as a foodie as I am, I simply can't afford to go out to eat at a full-service restaurant every other night. Today I opted for a cheaper, and much closer to home option. This restaurant is located in Atlantic Boulevard and it is a bit inconvenient to get into the parking lot. it is right there and it is tight. It can get pretty congested if there are more than two cars in and out at the same time. Not to mention that when a car is pulling out, and a car is coming in through Atlantic Boulevard you can get stuck waiting in the street thus clogging up traffic as well. I have seen this on weekends when I drive past. It is one of the reasons why this particular location does not come to mind when I need to find something quick to eat. Once in the restaurant we looked at the menu. I wanted to buy the family meal for the four of us I only saw one option for $36 which includes half a chicken, some chicken breast fillets,, and a half a pound of steak, plus a couple of sides. It was a little more meat that we needed. I asked the cashier if there was a way he would be willing to sell me a whole rotisserie chicken with rice and beans. He said they have that in the menu, which I did not see anywhere so they need to put this out there. If it hadn't been raining I would've just gone elsewhere. Besides the chicken, rice and beans I also got order of their steamed potatoes. Service was fast and I really love the sauces they offer. I don't know their names, but there is a green one that taste amazing, very citrusy and salty. I also love the different onion relishes they offer. The food was good and was made better by this sauces. Other than the parking lot being a little inconvenient, this is a great place to come and have a quick meal. I've been eating here for years. Delicious Peruvian food served quickly. Each meal has giant proportions at economical prices. They serve freshly grilled chicken, but my favorite dish is the steak. The meal comes with plantains, yellow rice, and black beans. Try each of the four different sauces and add a side of marinated onions. This location is very popular, so you might find yourself waiting a bit. But the services tries to accommodate its customers as best as they can, so be patient. The food is worth the wait! read more

On vacation for the holidays and was introduced to this restaurant. I would give it 5 stars but there's a weird smell that is not food related that violates your nostrils when you first walk in. That aside, the food is wonderment! I tried the Garlic Fish and a seafood platter that came with fish nuggets, calamari and shrimp. Every bite was full of happiness! We are definitely going back before we leave out to go back to Atlanta. They have multiple options of sauces and garnish to add to the food. Each one of those are tasty as well. Went back in here after about year or so lay off from going in there. The staff actually got worse! The lady taking the order had about as much personality as the bottom of my shoe. No "hello, how are you, welcome to La Granja." Nothing of the sort...just "for here or to go." I got the #1 and the chicken they slabbed on the plate looked so dreadful, looked greasy and pitiful. Hardly any meat at all, poor chicken died for nothing because i took one bite and about got sick with all the grease pouring out of the dirty bird. Oh and what restaurant doesn't have white rice? Why only have yellow rice? Makes no sense to me. Last time, and i do mean it, last time i go in there. The staff needs upper management help about customer service or the upper management need customer service help. Also, the food taste was horrific. On a positive note, i did get a chicken soup and that sh... was amazing! La Granja has recently became my new favorite Cuban-food joint, beating pollo tropical. Their quarter chicken meal is super affordable and they give you an enormous amount of food. They have a nice menu to select from ranging from poultry to steak to seafood. Their empanadas are fried almost in a tempura style. SO good. I my opinion, the chicken empanada was better than the beef. Every time I go there I can't pick a sauce, so I get all of them. They're all delicious. There's tons of side options but my favorite is the cilantro rice. I prefer this particular location because out of the 3 locations that are near me, it's the only one that serves yellow rice. I always get a #1 which is the 1/4 chicken meal. It comes with a nice serving of yellow rice, black bean sauce which us Haitians call sos pwa and of course the tender chicken. Along with my meal, I get the spicy red sauce and a bit of the red sauce in onions. The spicy red sauce is a must! Not too hot, if you're worried about that.
