Pollo a la plancha - very good
    Carlos M.

First time here was for breakfast but I wasn't impressed. After some convincing, I came back for dinner and was pleasantly surprised. The service was awesome, Izaida steered me clear from what wasn't good on the menu and helped me make awesome choices. I tried - Meatball soup - wow! Apparently this soup is only available on Thursdays but it's definitely worth a try. Excellent quality. The meatballs were delicious. I love the soft potatoes and that everything inside the soup was cut up in bite sizes. This is one of the best soups I've ever had. 5/5 ($8.75) Pechuga a la plancha - this was really good and flavorful. The chicken was nicely seasoned. I got rice and beans for the side as well as plantains. Plantains were perfectly cooked with a nice and crispy exterior. 4/5 ($13.39) I really like this spot. The food tastes like home cooked meals which is very nice. I like how the place is decorated. I look forward to going back and exploring more of their menu.

By far the best Colombian restaurant in South Florida!!! The Sanchoco is top tier. I go every Friday! The Milanese de pollo is soooo good as well.

I had to mull on this place for a bit before leaving a review. We love Colombian food, but always go to the same place and there are so many Colombian restaurants in the area, that I thought to try other places. First try, was a fail for me. First off, they don't serve ajiaco on Sunday's as every other Colombian restaurants I've even been in. It is served Monday's. Right there I wanted to leave, but the hubby convinced me to give it a try. Bandeja Paisa, another Colombian staple wasn't on the menu, to which the hubby wanted to leave then (didn't let him, payback's a bitch) we asked and they did serve it, se we stayed. They did have more chicken dishes than most, and that is a plus for me. I hardly eat red beef, or pork, and I only have seafood at places I know it's fresh, so my go to is alway chicken. I had the Pollo a la Criolla, which is a chicken breast fillet with a onion, tomatoes and pepper relish in tomato sauce, with rice and beans. It was decent. Not full of spices as I would have liked, but decent. The chicken fillet was big, which is a plus. Hubby had the small Bandeja Paisa, he wasn't too happy with it. The meat was small and paper thin, the pork rind was tiny, they do give you chorizo as well, but he didn't care for that, he wanted his pork rind dammit!! Rice portion was small, and the beans are poured right in the plate, which fills half of it, giving the impression of a larger meal. It was about $13.99 so I don't know how much the bigger serving would be. He didn't care for the meat, and that is the soul of this dish, so this place is out for us. Service was good, not overly friendly, but good. The place is small, and all the tables are placed very close together, so we had to maneuver our way to get out, since we were in a corner table, and there were large parties on all sides. They do have their regulars for what I saw. To find this place you have to know where it is (or find it through Yelp, as we did) so that speaks well for them. Just not for me.

Little hole in the wall. Pretty good food, small and cozy. Prices are a little high for the selection available but over all it was a great lunch. Friendly service not good for big parties.

I am on a small quest with my wife to find the best Colombian restaurant in the Coral Springs area. I am using the Bandeja Paisa, a typical Colombian dish as a point of comparison. At El Pollo Rico they have a large and a medium, i order the medium one for about $13. It had the usual rice, beans, one fried egg, avocado, meat, pork rinds, chorizo plantains and an arepa...yeah, it is a lot of food. Overall the dish was good, but not the best i have had. The meat was very thin, and therefore lacked juiciness or much flavor, the pork rinds was smaller than usual, but they compensated that by also including the chorizo (usually you get one or the other). The red beans were really good. The service was good and the place was clean. No the best but a good overall place.

I couldn't resist trying both fish dishes, and I'm so glad I did! * Filete de Pescado a la Plancha (Grilled Fish Fillet): Lightly seasoned, perfectly grilled, and flakey. Served with white rice and beans that were both simple and satisfying--classic, clean flavors done right. * Filete de Pescado en Salsa de Champiñones (Grilled Fish in Savory Mushroom Sauce) : The mushroom sauce was delicious, elevating the fish to the next level. If you're into creamy sauces and comfort food vibes, this one is a must-try. Served with a side of fried yuca that was golden brown and crispy with coconut rice and beans that will take you by surprise with actual coconut pieces in it not just made in coconut milk This was the star of the show. I ordered two passion fruit juices, and both tasted incredibly fresh--like they had just been blended moments before serving. I also had a Manzana Postobón (apple soda), which added a sweet, nostalgic Colombian touch. And let me tell you, they gave me a taste of their $5 margarita and it was so good. Lightly sweet, tangy, and not too strong--definitely a deal worth coming back for. The staff were welcoming, patient with questions, and quick with service. I appreciated the sample of the margarita--it shows they're proud of what they serve and confident you'll come back for more (and they're right). The inside of the restaurant is beautifully decorated with colorful accents, bright red seat cushions, wooden tables, hanging greenery, and Colombian flags tastefully placed throughout the space. With soft lighting and cozy touches like pillows along the bench seating, it's a perfect mix of festive and relaxed.

The music was bumping, people were dancing, and the energy was great. It was just me and my friend, a party of two. One thing I've noticed, though, is that every time I visit, the host tries to seat me away from the action. I asked to sit on the side with the music, and she told me there were no seats available. However, when I pointed out a couple of open tables, she suddenly said we could sit there. SMH. I ordered a Caipirinha, which was great as always. They really know how to make that drink. For my meal, I got the guac burger (no bacon), but it came out with bacon on it. My fries were also lukewarm when they first arrived. I don't eat bacon, so I let the waitress know. She said they'd make another burger, but when it came back, I could tell it was the same one because I had broken the bread the first time, and it was broken in the exact same place. What if I had been allergic? That's really concerning. The fries also seemed like they were just refried. They were darker, harder, and still looked like bottom-of-the-bag fries. I didn't complain, I just made the best of it. To be fair, the actual burger patty was seasoned very well and tasted great. When the bill came, the burger was $2 more than the price listed on the menu. I pointed it out, and the manager explained that prices had increased but they hadn't updated the menu yet. He honored the menu price, as he should. This spot is located in a large plaza with several other businesses, but parking is plentiful, which I appreciate. And honestly, I would visit again because I actually do like this place, it just wasn't a good night service wise. I'd also suggest putting little lamps on the table because its very dark. Thankfully I used my phone light to see that there was bacon my burger and the hostess gave my friend a little flashlight to see the menu. My friend enjoyed her food. This night's experience was a 3 out of 5
