When looking for a good authentic Colombian restaurant, this is it ! The whole staff was super nice and friendly and took our order immediately. We could stay to eat so we took our food and our drinks to go . I order two juices , the Jugo de guanábana and mora juice ! The lady made so much , that she ask me drink some while she was filling up so she will give me the extra from the blender ! lol too cute and funny .. because the juice was delicious. The empanada and the chicharrón were fresh and warm ! Definitely will be coming here for lunch and possibly try their dinner too ! read more

I've been coming here since years ago and the food and service had always been very good. However, 2 years from this date the food has changed from very good to alright. The quality in the food has decreased and the meat and chicken empanadas besides dry are full of potatoes as opposed to more meat and chicken. Also, I requested a few days ago a small bandeja paisa to go and for chicharrón I get a few broken chunks of soft and gooey pork with tons of fat as opposed to half a crunchy chicharrón strip. I have come here through the years to dine in and to take food, drinks and desserts with me. They have a varied menu, a huge selection of bakery items and drinks too! The price is also very affordable. As far as customer service, it isn't excellent, but it's good. Today I picked up a large chicken soup and I prefer it from here, as they cook it with dark chicken instead of chicken breast like so many others do. It's a lot juicier and nutritious. read more

I've been coming here for empanadas for years. Great price and taste! I usually order beef since its moist and flavorful. The chicken empanadas are a bit dryer in my opinion. THE SAUCE!!! The sauce is the star of the show. It's spicy and tangy - lots of herbs! I would always ask for extra. One sauce container per empanada. I also had the chicharron, guava and cheese pastry, pan de bono, and meringue. This might sound a bit weird but I dip the pan de Bono into the sauce as well. I really like it. Service is a hit or miss. I had some girls who were really nice and shy or some where they just want to take your order and have you on your way. I havent had the chance to dine in yet. The girl who took our order did not provide good customer service and was quite frankly rude. Our cheesecake had a melted mess of a base when we opened up the box 6 minutes later after driving home, which is a real shame because it was otherwise pretty good. The 4 leches had too much dulce de leche and the base had basically disintegrated into the milk so it wasn't really a 4 leches, just milk with dulce de leche on top, more than half of it was tossed. The cheese and dulce de leche pastry was delicious. The prices were pretty cheap, $3.75 per dessert and $2 for the pastry. I would not recommend the desserts or the customer service here. Too many stores in this plaza and parking was a mess at 5 PM on a Sunday. No social distancing inside and people were basically stepping all over each other in an attempt to form a line while blocking the exit. read more

Stay away they will serve you what evere they want, + one day they forgot to give me 2 tamales and they had me waiting to check the camaras to see if I stole it!! Let me start by saying I have been here at least 7 to 10 times and I've never had this experience when I've had my Hispanic boyfriend join me. Today, I came in by myself for the first time and was able to order TOGO automatically-no one waiting at tables no one in line.. which is not a common thing for this place as they are always packed but I imagine it was because of the hurricane. Today I simply ordered Bandeja Paisa As I usually do with chicken, and ended up waiting 40 minutes. After ordering I stepped outside for about 12 to 15 as they said it would be 10 to 15.. Came back inside and there was about 3(one being a couple) people sitting at the tables waiting, and maybe 4 in line waiting to order. SOMEHOW , every single one of those people had gotten their order before me as I stood there waiting for an excess of 20 minutes inside. I asked her after about 10 minutes of waiting INSIDE what was taking so long as it should've already been done, and she told me it was because it was chicken. Which is absolute bullshit. I am myself being an Operational manager and Chef, chose chicken knowing that it would be a quick easy process and cheaper. I will never come here again as I know that I was judged and put to the back of the line because I didn't speak Spanish and it wasn't a priority to them as I spent 20$ on a plate for one person. La Antioquena reigns as one of my favorite Spanish food spots. Their excellent food and family-style atmosphere keep customers returning for more. I've personally been to this place dozens of times with my grandmother. The venue itself is quite spacious, clean, and always populated. While everything they serve here is typically good, my favorite thing to order is their chicken soups. The soups are comforting, satisfying, and filling. An abundance of chicken, veggies, potatoes or yuca, and pure love are poured into those bowls. Consuming one brings a sense of comfort and warmth to the soul! Unfortunately, they were sold out of their chicken soups on Saturday and only had tripe. Thus, I opted instead for their grilled chicken entree. All entrees come a choice of three sides. I chose white rice, sweet plantains, and salad. Their grilled chicken is excellent -- tender, juicy, and flavorful! Sweet plantains are good, and rice is standard. The salad is nothing more than a few tomato and cucumber slices on a bed of iceberg lettuce and shredded carrots, however. Nevertheless, portions are large enough to share! Unfortunately, the only issue with La Antioquena is their poor customer service. They have one waitress in charge of about 12 tables. Thus, placing and receiving orders takes forever, and refills? Forget it. Savor your glass of water or ask for a pitcher because your waitress will not return after bringing you your food. More so, our waitress seemed so overwhelmed with other tables that she forgot to bring our sweet corn arepa to the table. By the time I'd gotten her attention, it was after my grandmother, and I finished eating our entrees and were already full. We asked her what happened to the arepa, and she immediately brought out a cold one for us to share, along with our bill. Well, while they sure are slow with their service, they sure are quick to bring you the bill! Though the arepa tasted like a scrumptious corn muffin in the form of a fried patty, it would've been a lot better warm and more enjoyable if brought with our entree rather than with the bill. In essence, while their food's quantity and quality are outstanding for the price, be aware that their service is always lackluster and extremely slow. On a side note, however, please don't pass on their baked goods! They make great guava and cheese or dulce and cheese pastries, among other sweet and savory items! read more

I love this place! It's hidden in a corner of a plaza, anybody would pass them by and don't realize what they're missing. Every time I go to this place, I'm a frequent customer, im greeted with a smile. You can sit as you walk in. The ambiance is very happy and it gives you the sense you're in Colombia just at your local restaurant. The food is very genuine and tasty. The prices are affordable and their menu is varied. They also have a bakery where you can find the most delicious breads and sweets. I love their "pan de bono" and their "Guava and cheese" pastries. And did I mention empanadas?! Stop by for your favorite and grab some natural "lulo" juice while you're at it! La Antioquena is one of the best Colombian restaurants in the Coral Springs-Tamarac area. It is in the back end of a shopping plaza, so it is easy to miss, but if you like Colombian food or Pastries you shouldn't miss it. Good quality food, fair prices and good service, what more could you ask for. The Bandeja Paisa is offered with your choice of Palomilla stake, chicken breast, pork loin, or ground beef for just $13. While you can opt for the Flat Stake (thinker cut) for about $18. They also have a great Tostones with Guacamole appetizer for just $4, with a bit of the salsa, it's reason enough for me to return. They have a pastries area right by the entrance with some mouth watering latin pastries. The pastries are made fresh on location and they are delicious. The Guava and Cheese pastelistos is one of my favorites. They don't skimp here, each pastelito is stuffed full of guava and cheese. FYI, During the holidays, I know they offer dinners packages. This come in handy if you want to save yourself the work during Thanksgiving or Christmas. I had been craving a good Colombian breakfast for a while and my friend said their arepas are really good so I came here specifically for a yellow corn arepa! They did not disappoint. It was so good and the cheese on top made it even better. The eggs were so good and just how I remember, it tastes like home. The chicharron was crispy and juicy! When we came in at about 11:00AM it was packed. There was almost a line out the door for pick ups and orders to go. The bakery area looks delicious we had to try a dulce de leche pastry and it tastes better than it looks. I wanted one of everything they had on the self lol. This is a really good bakery, I bought some empanadas and bread, everything was good, made fresh and inexpensive. Honestly I am glad I found this bakery, cause I be in the mood for some good empanadas and this will be one of my Go-to spots. I love their hot sauce too. Make sure to ask for hot sauce so that you can pour it over the empanadas, it elevates that flavor. With the Mini Bandeja Paisa you get your choice of ground beef or steak served with rice, red beans, fried pork belly, sweet plantains, a fried egg, and white corn arepa. This is a good deal for $8.95. I chose the steak. The egg was fried hard. I usually like my eggs cooked over easy so that I can bust the yoke over the rice but that didn't ruin the food at all. The food was delicious! My friend ordered the trace o cuatro leches which is a white cake moist with condensed and evaporated milk topped with whip cream. OMG! THE GOOD This restaurant has a decent space in the dining area. I think is a little dark on the inside section but is acceptable. The food is tasty and brings the Colombian flavors. In addition, the portions a a little on the big side, so if you eat a lot then this is your place. The bakery has a variety of cakes and breads enough for you to select couple. THE BAD The service is not good if you are not going to order a full meal. I mean, if you want to sit down and eat empanadas and coffee then you cannot sit and expect attention because the waitress will ask you to stand up go to the counter, place the order and take it to the table. I don't know if you have to take the cups and dishes back to the counter (sarcastic). I believe that $20 in empanadas and coffee are the same as a $20 bandeja paisa and soda, so service to the table should be the same for all type of orders or customers, and bad service erases the GOOD THINGS that this restaurant can offer you. read more

This is the second time I've been here and it will definitely not be my last. The food here is awesome! The staff is super friendly and helpful. They have a fairly large menu and all the dishes are fairly large portions. They offer beef, pork, chicken and seafood cooked a variety of ways. The empanadas are really delish. They are offered with chicken, beef or cheese (my personal fave). They are served with aji (a very popular Colombian condiment) it's a tangy, spicy sauce that goes well on just about everything. Not only are they a restaurant but a bakery as well. They offer a myriad of sweet and savory pastries made fresh daily on the premises. My favorite are the pan de bono (a chewy cheese bread roll). They also offer many fresh exotic fruit juices made fresh to order. Try the moro, it's blackberry juice (have them make it with milk for something different) it's like a blackberry smoothie. Delicious and not artificially sweetened. The ever popular bandeja paiza is a must. It's steak, sausage, pork belly, rice, beans, a fried egg, half an avocado and a small arepa. We came here for breakfast while visiting the Ft. Lauderdale area and we loved it! My mom is from, and grew up in, Perreira, Colombia and it was like a taste of my upbringing! For starters, you walk in to cases full of their fresh pastries and breads. They have a ton of options including buñuelos, pan con queso, cheesecakes, Danishes with guava, and a bunch more! They have a full breakfast menu available if you'd like, or you can order at the counter and have it to go or to stay. On my visit we had buñuelos, a carne empanada, guava & queso pastry, and espresso coffees with cream and sugar. The buñuelos were fantastic and the empanada was just like I remember with shredded beef and potatoes. They're deep-fried to a delicious golden crust that provides an awesome crunch. My coffee was strong and sweet - again just like I remember growing up. Seriously this place was like a taste of home and we loved it! Also, it's incredibly affordable. My wife and I were at a local mini mall when we spotted this little Columbian restaurant and decided to go inside for breakfast. It's basically your typical Hispanic restaurant/bakery that are known to dot the South Florida landscape, they offer a nice variety of pastries, make cakes to order and offer some good ol' fashioned Columbian grub. The dining room itself is larger then what it seems from the outside, inside you'll notice the servers going to and fro from table to table and table to kitchen. We sat ourselves upon entering and were quickly given 2 menus, a while later our waitress came and took our order. Slowly and slowly the place became full, to the point that our service started to slack somewhat. The food eventually came, and both my wife and I polished off our plates, everything was cooked just right and very tasty. Then came the waiting... Like I said it had gotten a little packed and as far as I could tell, only 2 waitresses were serving the whole restaurant so we had to wait for our waitress to come and give us our bill and then we had to wait for her to come back with our change since she was still attending several different tables. So if you do go there, prepare for some possible waiting time. My experience there was rather good and I do expect that both my wife and I will definitely return to La Antioquena very soon. read more
