I have to admit I was expecting a very casual spot but was very surprised when I stepped in. This spot is really nice and looks upscale with nice cultural Peruvian decor. Service was great, friendly and fast. Food presentation 10/10. We ordered the lomo saltado which was really flavorful and tender. The octopus olive causa was a work of art. Flavor wise was ok not sure I liked the sauce they made the octopus. I'll give it an 8 and maybe try another one of their causas next time. Overall nice ambiance great place for a date night and to enjoy some tasty peruvian cuisine. I'll definitely come back.

We visited Mancora for dinner and enjoyed several items. As an appetizer, we started with the Chorros à la Chalaca which are one of my favorites. They came fully loaded with all of the toppings! Would gladly order these again. As entrees, we ordered the classic ceviche, tacos, Seafood tacu tacu, and lomo saltado. Everything was delicious. I was very impressed by the sauce on the Tacu Tacu and will consider ordering that as my entree in the future. The tacos were my entree and I found them to be very well portioned in terms of filling and the flavors were phenomenal, especially with the accompanying sauces. Perhaps the best part of the meal was our dessert - picarones! Our waiter did warn us that they are not exactly like "traditional" Peruvian picarones, but they are so delicious nonetheless. They come out freshly made and warm with plenty of syrup. They also have delicious pisco sours and offer Inca cola! In terms of seating, the restaurant is very large, so there is always space available. The service was very attentive and food came out in a very reasonable timeframe. I look forward to returning to reorder some of our items (like the picarones) as well as to try out other items on the menu! Highly recommend to any Peruvian food lover.

A friend recommended we try Peruvian-Chinese food. It came as a surprise when we found out the…read morerestaurant was Chifa Tay Pa! Why was it a surprise? Our friend is well-heeled, however, humble. We passed this restaurant on numerous occasions. Although it had an inviting outward appearance for a Chinese restaurant, we assumed it was another run-of-the-mill establishment. We were so wrong! Once inside, the Chinese theme and décor are powerful, yet subdued. Enough seating for lunch crowds or evening dining with families. We were the first to arrived, and received a pleasant greeting. Not only that, once we received our orders [in a very timely manner], we received help putting it into a carry bag for safer travel so as to prevent the contents from spilling. Although pricey, the food was worth every dollar and cent! Portions were far from skimpy. It took three days to finish the Pollo Chijaukay! The same with the Chaufa! The only thing that could've finished in a day was the Hot and Sour soup. So definitely no gripe about sizing. We definitely will return to either revisit the same items, or try new ones. Btw, the menus on the tables were in Spanish. There are other menus in English. You can view them up front at the order counter. If you are a fan of Peruvian food or Chinese food [our friend mentioned the heavy Chinese influence in Peru], this is your place! Get both together under one roof, fusion style! Chifa Tay Pa.

I had a great time the first time, and yep it's still that girl. Let's talk about the vibe real quick. The ambiance is everything. Modern, and just really well put together. From the furniture textures to the contrast in colors it all feels super intentional but still chill. Like, they knew what they were doing when they designed this place. 10/10 on the setting alone. Let's get down to the items shall we? What We Had Drinks ____________________ + Naori Signature Drink ($15) : 8.4/10 This one's made with Pisco Berries and Triple Sec. It's a layered, fruity cocktail that's a little more complex. Personally, I prefer the Pisco Sour it's cleaner and more balanced for my taste. But if you like citrusy and berry-forward drinks, you might love this one. Again, these are my reviews based on my taste buds. You might feel differently and that's ok honey. + Espresso Martini ($16) : 9/10 Strong, chocolatey, and gets the job done. + Lychee Martini ($16) : 8.6/10 Clean and balanced. Not too sweet, just smooth and refreshing + Pisco Sour ($16) : 10/10 My fave. Fruity, with this nice cold foam on top. Pretty sure there were peach or passionfruit notes in there. So good. * Shots - We also did a round (Don Julio, I think), and it kept the vibe going. Appetizers/Entrees __________________ +Nikkei Tiradito ($19) : 10/10 Thin tuna slices with a shouyu sauce that had a little citrusy kick. I could've had another plate just for myself. +Grilled Octopus ($20) : 8.4/10 This was good! Cooked well, had a nice char. Not my favorite thing on the table, but still strong comes with Peruvian corn and potato. +Arroz Chaufa Special ($24) : 10/10 Babyyy this dish was everything. Wok-fried rice, perfectly seasoned. That filet was so tender, and the shrimp just brought it all together. Easy standing ovation for me. * Dessert - I honestly can't remember what we ordered for dessert, but it was decent. Nothing crazy. I'd give it a 7/10. Overall Experience: 10/10 Customer Service: 10/10 Would I Be Back? Without a doubt. I even told my mom about this place and I think she went a couple months ago!
