Which is awesome because I would never have known what to order. He did the ordering for both of us, and he ordered too much, but it was all quite good. We started with potatoes in a cheese sauce and ceviche. The potatoes were amazing. I've never tasted anything quite like them. The ceviche was good. Next we had something that was veggies, white rice and French fries in a brown gravy with beef. Also quite tasty. Then fried rice with various types of meat and seafood mixed in. I tried it and it was good, but by this time I was pretty full, so I only tasted it. I'll have the rest for lunch tomorrow. We drank Inca Kola, which is very popular in Peru, although now it's apparently made by Coke, but still, quite tasty. They have a diet version, but I don't touch artificial sweeteners. We passed on dessert as I had eaten too much already. I don't have anything bad to say about this place. The service was good, the food was good, the restaurant was clean. I can't comment on the prices because I honestly didn't pay any attention since I wasn't paying for the meal (thank you, Kalo), but he didn't say anything bad about the prices. All-in-all it was a good restaurant and certainly deserving of four stars. And one to add to my list of do-overs.

The fish can be upgraded to corvina fish if you choose. The sauce is tangy and refreshing. Came with fresh onions and a piece of sweet potato. Nice portion. The Jalea is a big platter of fried mixed seafood. The breading was seasoned and delicious. The sauce it came with had onions in it which I loved! It was a little too fried for me but not burnt so it was all good. The steak and pesto pasta was hearty. The steak was grilled to medium rare very nicely and the pasta was al dente with plenty of sauce. Will be coming back soon!

Service-wise, they charged me an extra $6 for an Arnold Palmer, claiming it wasn't included in the lunch special because it's a mix of the iced tea and lemonade that are included. When the three of us got there around 6 p.m. on a Wednesday, we were the only ones in the dining room. Our friend is going with my husband and I to Peru in October but has never had Peruvian food. So, we decided to bring her along to try her first Peruvian dishes. We ordered a ceviche entree and potatoes with cheese sauce for appetizers. The ceviche was good, with thinly sliced, well-soaked pieces of fish. My friend thought the cheese sauce on the potatoes was spicy; we did not. In fact, I thought the potatoes were kind of bland and that the sauce was a positive addition. Then, we three shared the Peruvian roasted chicken, the pollo saltado, and the chicken fried rice. The roasted chicken was fine. Nothing stellar. The fried rice was very salty, and was the least palatable of all the food we ate. We barely got through half of the entree. The pollo saltado was very good and the best of all the entrees. The restaurant charges a 4% surcharge for using a credit card. So, I gave the waitress my debit card. Nevertheless, she came back and had taken the credit card amount which included an extra 4% from my debit card and didn't understand that taking money from my debit card was like getting cash. And there was nothing I could do to explain that a debit card had no charges. Dinner for 3 with 1 appetizer, 4 entrees, 2 cans of soda, tax, and tip was $109. I would add a half star just because service was excellent. The server was pleasant and very amicable. The chef even came out to inquire how we liked the food.
