I will say the egg drop soup was mighty fine, as was the wonton soup. The lomein was also pretty good - fried rice, not so much. Pretty dry and didn't have a good flavor, much less any flavor, to be honest. Better to stick with white rice with the dishes. The shrimp with garlic sauce was good, but felt like it was more sauce than the shrimp in the giant container. The beef and broccoli was very good as well, with no complaints. read more

A friend introduced me to Mongolia Wok about 3 years ago. He had been ordering from them for years. The 2 stars is not a reflection of their food. Their food is delicious. 3 years ago, I would have given them 5 stars. In the past 3 years, they have raised their prices at least 3 times. Last year, they drastically reduced the size of the dishes to fit inside a much smaller plastic container. By the way, the dish isn't always filled up. They aren't terribly friendly either. This evening, my friend and I tried The Great Wall, a Chinese (primarily takeout) restaurant in the Winston Park Shopping Center. We ordered the same dishes as always. The food was equally as delicious, the portions were much larger and the price was $3 less than Mongolia Wok. Plus, the staff was much friendlier. Consider driving a few miles further north on Lyons Rd. It is worth it. read more

Worst food I've ever had. I ended up throwing $21.00 away. It was not edible!!! The boneless ribs were nothing but fat and gristle. The soup had absolutely no flavor, and the fried rice was hard and disgusting. I took one bite of the egg roll and it went in the garbage; even there wontons crispy noodles were stale. This is my first review since mid March 2020. I must thank all of the people who put me into the five figure monthly reads arena. We received a flyer in the mail. The decision was made to order the following: egg rolls, House special fried rice, chicken Lo Mein, pork egg foo young,moo goo gai pan, Mongolian beef, Orange chicken and General Tso's chicken. The egg rolls were acceptable. The house special fried rice almost as bland as hospital food while the moo goo gai pan was blander.The egg foo young, my Wife's choice down the disposal. The Mongolian beef itself wasn't bad; the onions were raw. Th orange chicken was nothing more than fried breading (see image) with no white meat in sight. To the disposal with you yon chicken. Sunday evening of 6-11, we had 2 out of 3 orders were terrible. Honey garlic shrimp had such a coating that it was all breaded with small shrimp hiding in it. The Sesame Chicken was not any better - there were no sesame seeds but, lots of sauce covering it. The saving grace was the foo young dish which was good. We have been going to Mongolian Wok since we moved here 2 years ago, live nearby in a seniors complex and go there often. We only order Chinese from here. We are never disappointed except for last night. We ordered fan tail shrimp ( small souffle cup of sauce) chicken wings, fried dumplings ( small souffle cup of sauce) lomein and General Tso's chicken dinner . Usually we get enough sauce for all the items that we order and the soup that comes with the dinner is usually a nice size portion but unfortunately it all came in a very small containers. I normally would not complain but we did tip the driver $15 since it was raining and the restaurant knew that because everything was paid for prior to delivery. If you are cutting back because of cost we understand but at least send enough for the food. We will continue to order from restaurant but now know we need to ask for more sauces. read more

Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. YUCK! Decided to try this place out for the first time and it will most definitely be my last time as well too! Ordered online and didn't get my food until an hour and 10 minutes later. I'm not too mad about that because it's Saturday night and I understand they may be busy but when I got my food the order was wrong. I ordered chicken lo mein and instead got some weird looking round fried pile of shit so I called and they argued with me and said that's what I ordered when I fact I didn't I have the email confirmation to prove this. So anyways he wanted to just give me a credit for next time and let me starve all night. He finally agreed to send me what I ordered. Thank god my husband wasn't going to eat it right away or he would have waited all night. Somehow the paper receipt was different from the online order receipt. Their whole system is weird they shouldn't even offer online ordering. you can't pay online the driver had to call the store when he got to my house to give them the card number over the phone. This is my first time trying this place. I decided to try this place since they left their flier at my door and I was ironically craving some Asian food as well. The place is in an not-so-busy plaza. Apparently this place is under new ownership. From the outside this place don't look too bad but hat changes when you step foot in to the place. First thing I noticed was how jam packed the left side of the place is. I went up to the counter to order my food. While I was waiting, quite a few things happened. One, some lady had come in composing how her order got messed up. Two, one of their employees had a bed setup on the left side of the room and was taking a nap there. Third, there are ants roaming around on the tables and counters. I'm not sure what the condition is like inside of the kitchen if that's how it is up front. That being said, the food was actually tasty and made exactly to order. Would I be coming here again? I don't see why not. I just think they need to figure out how not to mess peoples orders up and take care of the ants and/or any other bug problems. read more

Tried this place for lunch. They have pretty good lunch specials and the price and portions are very reasonable too. Walking in, this location isnt for dining in. You can get delivery or pick up. Its spacious for being a walk in food spot and most importantly, clean. The staff are friendly and i think everyone that passed me said hello. The food was really good and made to order, so wait time was about 15 minutes or so . The portions are a decent, especially for lunch but that's a good thing if you're really hungry lol Prices are also reasonable and a great deal for the quality/quantity you get. read more

I'm rather torn about Mongolia Wok. First, the good things: - cheap, especially if you're buying for a family or a group (good bulk-order discounts) - super-convenient (I live very close) - their pick-up is ready very quickly The not-so good things: The food quality can be uneven. Sometimes the eggs rolls are fried to perfection; other times limp. My last order of chow fun, one of my favorite Chinese-American take-out foods, was without any apparent flavor and was dry. I called back to voice my concern and was told they had a new owner I should speak to, who'd be in the next day. I came and brought my uneaten chow; was told the owner wasn't there, and that I could get a credit for the food. The young lady was very nice, but I found the contradicting instructions confusing. Couldn't I have just been told that on the phone the day prior? I earnestly also wanted to speak to the owner, and wasn't offered an option to (by callback or otherwise). They did try to tailor the replaced chow fun per my complaints, though it ended up more watery than savory. At least they tried. Reading past Yelp reviews, perhaps the owner told the kitchen to cut down on 'grease' and salt? That may work for some dishes, but IMO chow fun and fried rice need their oil. Had I written this two months ago, it'd be a 3.5 rounded up to four stars. But the chow fun issue took the fun out of chow fun -- so, a 3 solid stars. I was psyched at first to have the real-deal NYC-style Chinese takeout so available; that enthusiasm has waned. Still, for assembly-line cheap eats, Mongolia Wok does OK. This is a small restaurant. It primarily consists of an order counter and two small tables that are usually occupied by the people who work there. I usually end up here when it is late and I am pressed to grab a dinner. They are inexpensive and the food is always ready quickly. Sometimes the food is great and sometimes not so much. This past visit I ordered the cashew chicken, pork with vegetables, and sweet and sour chicken. All the meals came with fried rice, won ton soup, and an egg roll for $27 for all three meals. While I appreciate the price my daughter's sweet and sour chicken was so hard and rubber like that I felt bad giving it to her. They have also upped the amount of rice and decreased the meat and vegetables. My husband complained that he could barely find anything but rice in his meal. I am not ready to completely write them off yet but it is going to be awhile before I come back. read more

Lunch special was big soggy cubes of chicken in a syrupy sauce with no heat whatsoever. Fried rice was hard and tasteless; apparently a day or two or three old. Now I've eaten all types of Chinese-restaurants, takeout like this place, frozen, buffets and even canned. Mongolia Wok was so bad IMO that for the first time ever I threw Chinese takeout away. I was hungry for Chinese tonight so I Yelped a search and found myself here. This is strictly a takeout and delivery place. There are no tables although there are chairs to sit in if you are ordering take out like I was. Orders are made fresh and you actually can see them preparing your meal while you wait. I thought that was pretty cool. I decided to go Ala carte and order pints if soups, rice, pork lo mein, chicken and vegetables and some egg rolls. The soups I chose were mixed soup (wonton and egg drop) and hot and sour. I was glad to see my order being cooked and not scooped out of a steam tray pot. The food was packed neatly into a small brown cardboard box. After taking everything out which was steaming hot, I noticed the size of the egg rolls they seemed very small. The soups are generous in size as were both meals along with my fried rice they also included white rice and a few fortune cookies. I had to stop and take a picture with money cat because I love money cat. I have to be honest and say I never knew this Chinese takeout was so close to my home. Saves me from a night of cooking because it gets boring 7 nights a week. The price was also very reasonable just a little over $25 for all the food I ordered. THE LOWDOWN ON THE FOOD. The hot and sour soup was packed with vegetables and had lots of tofu mushrooms and celery and had a good taste to the broth. I had a sip of the mixed soup and it tasted ok. The wonton noodles they gave are thin and fresh not thick and over fried. I liked them a lot. The rice was ok..nothing to rave about and I chose the house special which had shrimp chicken and pork. Despite the small size of the eggrolls they packed a mighty punch! They were really good. Fresh crisp and loaded with shredded vegetables. The pork lo mein was seasoned perfectly. Ginger and garlic were the first spices that my mouth tasted. The sauce was light and a little sweet.the noodles seemed fresh and it was loaded with mushrooms, cabbage, celery and strip of tender pork. The chicken and vegetables had a delicious sauce that was reminiscent to the sauce they use for moo shu pork. That is one of my favorite sauces so it really went well with the chicken and vegetables which consisted of bok choy fresh broccoli carrots water chestnuts bean sprouts and celery and huge pieces of chicken that wore pounded flat and then seared in the wok. All in all I would definitely go back for take out from Mongolian. It was a very good meal. Next time I'm in the mood for Chinese this is where I will head to. read more

This place looks a hole in the wall that you would drive by without ever looking twice at, but they have THE BEST FOOD, at least in my opinion. They don't have seating in the restaurant, it's all to go, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I've placed a few orders there, paid about $20. Got home and said "wow, this is a lot of food.
