It's my second time coming here in 20 years, but that's because I live in a different state. It's the usual Chinese food but it's really good in terms of flavor and style of cooking. I get that fast Chinese food can be hit/miss but I don't have any complaints. We showed up an hour before closing and they still served us and let us use the bathroom. First and last time for me. My son loves the place for its many vegetarian options and my sister thinks it's the best Chinese food she's had since she's lived here, 4 years. I ordered chicken lo mean with chicken fried rice. Either the chicken was dark meat or they gave me pork and a very brown lo mein sauce. Took 2 bites, threw it out. I moved from Coral Springs to Coconut Creek and there are many Great chinese food places in that area, but I am now in search of one I can get my chinese food from closer home, got a flyer about those place in the door at home so I gave it a shot.... and unfortunately this place named Great Wall really wasn't even close to being great. The wonton soup was extremely bland no flavor at all just watery.. The wonton's them self were smaller than any Wonton Ton soup I have had. There was no flavor it was water.... And the fried noodles were stale... My next taste was their dinner size beef and broccoli and pork fried rice...The pork fried rice had no pork in it... there were really no veggies, maybe 4 peas and I think a piece of a carrot I saw... the rice was mushy and over cooked it was more of a rice pilaf than a pork fried rice. The fortune cookie was blah tasting.. the egg roll was ok was crispy not overcooked but something taste wise was again missing.. They also use a very different Duck Sauce than I am used to.. the two packets I used were thin and runny.. So no ...wont be back here once was enough. Sad, as I drove to their place because they had someone hand deliver their menu to a gated community in hopes of getting more people to eat their cooking, but why... it's really not that great in my opinion. read more

I read some of the reviews which were negative but our experience is just the opposite. Vivian at the counter is always very nice and friendly, and the food thus far has been excellent. Fresh, full of flavor and good portion sizes and cost is reasonable, We have paid much more at other Chinese restaurants where the food was not nearly as good. As long as the quality of food continues, prices and friendliness of staff, this is our go to Chinese Resturant. read more

Friendly staff at the counter, it's a laid back vibe with plenty of options. I went with the basic order which was a chicken fried rice, an order of fried chicken wings and an order of spring rolls. The fried rice and spring rolls were good, but the wings wasn't all of that. I've had better but it's my first time at this location and I like to give everyone a fair chance to impress me. Pains me to say this...the steamed dumpling were awful. The dough that is pinched was hard making it inedible. There was no pork in the pork fried rice and the lack of flavor, overall, was unbelieveable. The orange beef had good flavor but the chunks were soft and mushy. Dare I mention the food arrived luke-warm. They were a go to Chinese take-out. Need to find another one. read more

I noticed that another customer had a similar complaint about the rudeness of the delivery driver. I always ordered from Great Wall over the years, however this unfortunately draws the line. After working long hours I ordered delivery from this restaurant. Being a former delivery driver myself(and knowing how many of my regular customers stiffed me with no tip) I always give the driver 15-18% which is generous considering that it isn't a full service restaurant. Disappointingly when greeting the driver and signing the credit card slip he rudely muttered "only a $3 tip". On an $18 bill that's fair, I always try to give family owned establishments the business over chains especially in the high inflationary economy. Sadly as I'm writing this my family has opted to order food from Panda Express. The food is processed and nowhere near as delicious as Great Wall. I really do hope that this message gets through to management because I know if this transpired with a driver at my former place of employment then that person would no longer be employed. Have respect and be friendly to costumers then people will come back. Purely simple read more

I call back at 6:30 and get a message saying that they're closed! I called back again after 10 min, same thing. UNREAL. I could have ordered from another restaurant during that time instead of wasting my time waiting 30 min to call back. I have tried a lot of Chinese places. My biggest worry is dried "reheated" texture of proteins and the grease that comes with normal takeout. I tried the Mongolian beef and the house special chow mein. The Mongolian beef was very nice, with perfectly cooked green onion. The chow mein noodles were soft and not congealed together like most takeout places. Would love to try more food! read more

I have ordered from this restaurant for years and have always been satisfied with the food. Not this time. I was disappointed with my food. Delivery took longer than I was quoted so my Hot & Sour soup was luke warm when I received it. This soup was not nearly as good as it has been in the past. I received about 3 mushrooms in my soup that was mostly broth. I did not receive any noodles. The Sweet & Sour Chicken was not as good as I have had in the past. Also, the Sauce for the Sweet & Sour chicken was very runny and I was not given as much as I usually get. I was glad that there were no onions in the fried rice since I always had to pick them out as I cannot eat onions. The Chicken & Vegetables was better this time since the chicken was cut in pieces. Wished there were more snow peas. This is the second time I have been disappointed with the food. Maybe you are using different suppliers or maybe you have a new cook. The prices went up in November, 2024 but the food is disappointing. Looks like I will be looking for a new Chinese takeout restaurant. Typical run of the mill Chinese restaurant. 3 stars is the lowest i'll go unless the experience/food was a disaster. Food is definitely American Chinese Food, which isn't necessarily bad. We all need a serving of deep friend chicken dripping in honey garlic sauce every now and then. If you're thinking of trying this place do it. It's not the greatest food, but it does serve it's purpose and has been open for many many years. I promise you'll feel satisfied. read more

Diabetes or Low Carb, just ask for NO RICE when you order a dinner. It's nice to know that my family can order a Chinese Asian meal that suits all of our different diet types. Pretty good ordered fried rice a couple of times and it tastes fine. I give it a 8/10

It's been a year since I did my review, so it's time I do my update. Last February I gave Great Wall four stars, this year I am deducting two stars because things have changed. I don't like doing this but I don't want my previous review to be misleading. But when both the food and the service goes downhill it's time to move on. I have ordered from here at least a dozen times in the past year. Somethings are good but I have found most of the food to be bland, greasy and not cooked well. I still like the Spring Rolls. They are a little greasy but overall good. The Orange Chicken has a great sweet and spicy sauce but they can't get the chicken right. It's really hit or miss with both the Orange and General Tsao's Chicken. I have ordered the Mongolian Beef and the onions were barely cooked which ruined the dish. Another time I ordered it and it was great. There is no consistently whatsoever. The one item that has always been good is the Krab Ragoons. I know they use imitation crab, hence the spelling on the menu. But I still find them to be tasty. Both times I tried the ribs they were so overcooked I couldn't eat them. I get so aggravated when I spend money on food and it gets tossed in the trash. I have given this takeout place so many chances because it's convenient. But I just can't afford to keep wasting my money because it's conveniently located next to Publix. The girls who answer the phone are all rude. I know they are young but that is no excuse to treat paying customers with an attitude. A simple smile and thank you goes a long way. I do not feel comfortable recommending this place anymore and I will not be returning. read more

Food was great everyone was super pleased with their meal, delicious and hot Chinese takeout. We got honey garlic chicken kung pao chicken spring rolls egg rolls krab rangoons and wonton soup. Honey garlic sauce comes in a separate container which is great for when you have leftovers. The krab rangoon was so yummy. Definitely the best Chinese takeout I've had in the area which is bittersweet because I as it were I tried this restaurant for the first time like 4 days before moving . Last night I ordered fried dumplings, bone-in spare ribs and chicken with broccoli. The chicken and broccoli were good which is why I gave them any stars. The dumplings were off. I assume they were filled with pork but the meat had a sour taste like I've never experienced and was not edible in any way. I only ate one and hoped I did not get sick (I didn't). Half of the spare ribs were filled with something like a soft, white bone or cartlilage. I tried eating between them but it was futile. I got maybe 20% of what was on the rib itself. Very poor quality. I will definitely not go back and will stick with Crazy Wok who is far better. read more

HORRIBLE! They are thieves! This past Wednesday I went in and ordered some food. My bill came to $78.00. I gave the guy a $50 dollar bill and told him to charge the rest on my card. I later saw he charged me the full amount and kept my $50. When I called the guy was EXTREMELY RUDE and lied saying he had returned my money. First, this ain't my first rodeo with Chinese. Let's do it item by menu item. Egg rolls more roll l than filling and under cooked inside, passable but you better be hungry. Fried dumplings (pot stickers?) a wad of meat which falls out when you bite it, meh. Bbq spare ribs, tough, bland, tasteless! Pork lo mein the pork was funky tasting with passable noodles and certainly better than what what comes next. Chicken chow mein mostly cabbage and chicken very few bean sprouts, so bland it hurts. Pineapple Chicken, a little lady knocked on our door and screams where's the pineapple. Again a tasteless wonder.Bourbon chicken usually in a thick sticky sauce; not here, total garbage. Probably, the only palatable (barely) was the free general Tao's chicken. Very little sauce and the chicken was so tough I could hear Mr. Perdue screaming all the way from Indiana. I am so distressed that the state of Chinese food in our area is so pathetic I think we will stick with Thai. Too bad they don't have Amazon for food! For a strip mall Chinese restaurant the food was pretty darn good! Crab rangoon was stuffed full and fresh. The Hot and Sour soup was banging! Fresh huge mushrooms, celery, carrots and just enough spice so good! The General Tso chicken was good. It could have been more spicy and had more sauce but where it lacked it was replaced by a huge helping of chicken. The dinner combo is very much worth the price. I will return for sure! read more

The first time was the soup so I thought give them a second chance, just picked up my order and there is so much corn starch in it I can't even eater. We called for take out on a friday night around 9:45pm, we had our food ready in 20 minutes, as we arrived the staff was very welcoming even tho is just a take out restaurant, the food smelled amazing, as soon as we got home we went at it!!
