I was so happy to find a Chinese takeout place that had vegan protein options, most notably that many of the chicken items could be made with tofu! I got the Sesame Tofu, and it was a good-sized portion of nicely fried tofu and lots of perfectly cooked broccoli. My boyfriend got the Garlic Chicken combo dinner and he was pleasantly surprised with everything, even the wonton soup that came with his meal. The guy working there that day was not expecting us to want to dine in, since it seems like all of their customers order takeout or delivery, but he gladly gave us some disposable plates and plastic utensils after we got our food in takeout containers. He was very nice and seemed both appreciative and amused that I attempted to speak in Cantonese with him (I am very rusty). Again, since it's a takeout spot, there were only two small tables inside and no outdoor seating, but it was extremely clean inside and very bright, unlike most Chinese takeout spots. i've been driving past this restaurant many times when I'm on the road always was wondering about it so we decided to go there. I must say it is a carryout restaurant. We did sit there. They have two tables with four seats at each table. The young lady was a lovely, but you ordered the counter and they give it to you in take away containers lots of food. I had the flat noodles with vegetables. It was good but a little oily for me. We also had the dinners they were about 17.95 each. About the same price if we were in any restaurant that sat down with table service they did not have any water you had to buy either a bottle or a water. Or drink we did ask for water. They said. Nice portion with red and green peppers, celery, and onions. Comes with a choice of fried or white rice or you can get brown rice for $1 more. Going to retry tonight after 3 years. Parking difficult and need to turn around on powerline inconvenient. We thought prices were excessive 3 years ago. I'll update my post after retry. Here's the update. 2 combo dinners were $49. Mongolian Beef my wife enjoyed. My kung pao chicken was satisfactory but not special. Our two sides were egg rolls which are large and good. Florida thick skin egg rolls. In Chicago there is a thinner skin preferred by us - but wtf do we know using knives and forks for pizza. I digress. My hot n sour soup EXCELLENT. We opted for white rice with both orders. Order ready as promised in 15 minutes. Again - the parking is difficult and high curb along with tree roots make exiting my car a challenge. From my perspective, the five stars are completely undeserved. I had asked for a quart of Wonton soup with an extra side quart of just the broth. They either wouldn't or couldn't. What's the problem? I just got a blank stare in reply. Maybe they don't actually cook anything there and just have their food prepared in an off-site commissary, so all portion controlled and no extra broth. I dunno. I thought the chicken was tough and over seasoned. I love that restaurant offered choice of brown rice which was delicious and high quality but didn't offer side veggies with the entree. I used to enjoy this place but I will not order again after getting takeout tonight. The honey garlic chicken and crab Rangoon were both good. The orange chicken was dry and chewy. Egg roll and beef with broccoli were both very bland. It was a big order and they were really stingy with the sauces - only one mustard, 3 tiny duck sauce, and three fortune cookies. I love Lisa's kitchen. With the new ownership i decided to try and order delivery for the first time. My food came on time and i did not taste a difference in it from when Lisa was around. I got the sweet/sour chicken, rangoons, plain noodles, wonton soup, pork fried rice. My only negative would be that this place is way to expensive so i only order probably twice a year. It's with great disappointment that I write this review. My family and I were regulars at Lisa's for five years, consistently enjoying delicious meals. However, since the new owner took over about six months ago, the experience at what is now "Johnny's Kitchen" has been terrible. The most significant change is the food quality. What used to be fresh and flavorful is now frequently delivered cold and tastes stale. We've given them multiple chances, but the problems persist. We even had to throw out two recent orders entirely because the food was inedible--a complete waste of money. We also noted the strange price changes, which were thankfully reduced, probably because nobody wanted to pay that much money for Chinese food! Sadly, the poor food is matched by even worse customer service, led by a new owner who is both rude and unprofessional. We are so disappointed to see a once-great local spot go downhill so quickly. My mom and I went into Lisa's Kitchen last night and ordered some Chinese food to go for our family. The owner, Johnnie, helped us. He is the sweetest and he spent so much time with my mom and I, patiently and happily going over many of the items on their menu! He helped us make the perfect selections! We had Honey Garlic Chicken, Egg Foo Young, Schzuwan Chicken, Beef Lo Mein, Pork and Vegetable Fried Rice, Egg Rolls, and Wonton Soup. The restaurant is extremely clean on the inside! The food was made quickly for us, so we didn't have to wait long. Everything was packaged very neatly! The food was still very hot and fresh when we got home 25 min later. Dinner was delicious!!!! Based on the good things I have been hearing about Lisa's I decided to grab a meal to go while I was in the area running errands. I ended up ordering the Polynesian chicken off of the Chef's Specialties section of the menu. According to the description it is slices of white meat chicken, pineapple chunks, snow peas, bok choy, carrots, sauteed in a lemon sauce. It came with white rice. On the positive side the young man who took my order was a sweetheart. Unfortunately it had no flavor and the snow peas were overcooked into a mushy mess. I dumped on the duck and mustard sauce provided in order to make it edible. After seeing so many great reviews on Yelp I feel cheated. I talked to my friend and she shook her head and said I would not have ordered that. LOL. I would give them another chance in the future and take her with me because if she says a place is good you can take it to the bank. I guess I just ordered the wrong dish? read more

Everyone should know that this place used to be great but it was sold a few months ago. I could tell the person answering the phone knew nothing. I asked if it was sold and she lied saying no. Somehow I knew she was lying and asked to speak to Lisa. She transferred me to the new owner who said everything was same. Same cooks. My gut said no. The food was not very good, and the dumplings were chewy. I ordered the pork fried rice which lacked flavor. Searched up Chinese food in the area and Lisa's came up. Read through the reviews and decided to give them a try. Was definitely not disappointed. We tried the egg drop soup, vegetable spring rolls, edamame, orange chicken, and vegetable mei fun with chicken and level 3 heat. Food was great and flavorful definitely more than enough to share. Their location is a to go location and the inside has chairs just for that. We ordered ahead and drove right in, paid and right back out.
