We were in Eathai just this past Thursday. A friend of ours has a band and he had a gig there. We had wanted to stop into this place sometime so this was a good reason out of the blue. We walked in to the place and grabbed a couple spots at their bar. Its a nice unassuming place. There people hustling about including the bartender. But she had 2 drinks over to us pretty quick. I wanted to try something new so I got the Nam Gek Huay. It was a tasty beverage with tea as the mixer. There were cloves of something on the top that were a nice touch. We found ourselves to the back where the small stage was. It was a nice turn out of people. We all got to hear about a dozen songs. Meanwhile we tried the pad Thai. I would say it was above average. It was a good time, and we will be back to try more of the menu. read more

Terrible experience. The food quality has clearly gone downhill. I was a woman dining alone when I was served a watery dish with liquid pooled at the bottom. Any decent restaurant would have replaced it. Instead, the owner/manager became hostile, insisted I pay, and threatened me during the dispute. I was shocked when he said, "I'm going to hurt you," and then later tried to rephrase it as, "If you act like this, you're going to get hurt." After that, I did not feel safe touching anything they brought to the table. I called the police and made a report, and he denied making the threat when they arrived. Even after I complained about the condition of the dish, they still charged me. I paid, but I will be disputing the charge. I have never had a restaurant owner threaten me before. Completely unacceptable service. I did pay that horrible watery meal no flavor . Rude arrogant owner terrible customer service. There are so any better Thai places Avoid if possible I can see why it's dead in there!! Owner taking it out on the few that show up. He will keep losing customers with his horrible attitude Of course he's having a hard time, his service and food is terrible, uggh yes the owner said he would hurt me yes he did threaten when I said the food was swimming in water for some reason and no flavor, I did not eat half and even if I did that was the WORST customer service I will never step foot in there or send my friends and family there! I have bookmarked this for a few months now and so happy to have finally dined here. Eathai is one of the most impressive Thai spots in Boca. The ambience, quality of food and service, plus the plating/presentation was top notch. Love the spacious and modern/trendy ambience. There's a wall that separates the left side (restaurant) from the right side (bar/cocktail lounge). There's ample parking in the plaza. The menu is pretty expansive and truly lives up to the "modern" yet authentic take on Thai food. The Crispy Brussels Sprouts was a standout -- perfectly blistered, sweet and savory at the same time with just enough crunch. Super tasty! The Dry Rub Thai Chicken Wings was another highlight. Crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and coated in a seasoning blend that hits you with layers of flavor instead of just heat. I am used to chicken wings that are drizzled with sauce and this dry rub wings was such a nice surprise. This is honestly some of the best wings you'll find in a Thai restaurant. The Grilled Lamb Satay was beautifully plated -- smoky, and marinated just right. Paired with the peanut sauce and the refreshing cucumber-onion relish, it was a solid dish. Would have preferred the meat to be more tender though. The Jumbo Lump Meat Crab Fried Rice was comforting, served with a spicy green chili sauce. I was warned by our server that the green sauce is spicy, so I tempered the heat by adding more fish sauce. Generous chunks of real crab, fragrant rice, and well‑seasoned flavors. Service is efficient (will update this with the name of our server next time) and warm. The chef/owner is So. He is funny, friendly and hospitable and he makes his rounds to visit every table checking how everything is. This restaurant is now in our rotation for top Asian eats in Boca. Let me start off by saying Thai food has got to be one of my top favorite cuisines aside from Japanese sushi! I like my food spicy and with most Thai restaurants they only offer chili powder/flakes instead of the real deal. I need that fresh Thai chili please! Thank you Eathai for getting that memo. Great authentic Thai food, beautiful ambiance and decor, friendly staff! The newly renovated EatThai is a perfect place for date night or to catch up with friends. It's airy, open spaced with a great bar serving very unique cocktails. Our papaya salad was a nice big portion with a lot of toppings like pork rinds and dried shrimp. The flavor was strong and bold, even at a spice level of 1 out of 5, it was plenty spicy for my weak tolerance. For entrees, I had the crispy duck breast with lychee curry sauce. It was a thick pieces of breast with lean meat and a nice edge of fat with skin. It's lightly breaded and added to the sauce with bell peppers, lychee and basil leaves. The ratio is definitely a lot more sauce to ingredients. The curry is tangy, sweet and mildly spicy. Good flavor. My husband's Kao Soi was loaded with toppings and had a nice portion of noodles below. He said it was reminiscent of his days in Thailand where he could find something similar on the street carts. Food is very good. We tried Brussel sprouts appetizer off of the specials menu. They were crunchy and well sauced. For the meal I tried tofu with vegetables. I tried to order a few things to customize as vegan and it seems that is no longer an option. Essentially they created a dish that is vegan - even the tofu dishes have fish sauce in them so definitely something to be aware of. I was excited to try the mushroom salad from a previous review but they informed me it was not possible. The food was definitely still good, a variety of veggies and tofu ( can choose fried or steamed) with sticky rice. My boyfriend tried the oxtail fried rice and said it was very good. Highlight of the meal was Thai tea. Our server was not very attentive we found ourselves waiting to see her for a while more than once but they were busy when we arrived. Went on a Saturday night to Eathai with 2 Thai food lovers and 1, reluctant not so much a fan of this cuisine who left all in, saying "when are we going back?" The vibe is relaxed, clean and comfortable. Large rectangular tables can fit parties of 6-8. There is a separate room with a bar. We had a reservation, but at 7pm, we probably did not need one. Many of the guests were Thai families. I started with a less-lychee syrup, Lychee Martini. It hit the spot. It was $15. We ordered a bunch of dishes to share that came out pretty quickly but not all at once. Dry brine chicken wings were spicy and sweet but still tender and juicy. I wish there were a dipping sauce. I probably could have asked for something but now I know. A tuna ceviche comes with shrimp chips. The tuna was plentiful nestled with cilantro, red onion and chili pepper. The fish could have been cut better, but I nitpick. Chicken Pad Thai was maybe the best I have ever eaten. The chef used restraint with his fish sauce so the dish was less "funky" as it can be sometimes in other establishments. The papaya salad was good, I would not run back for it. I know people who love a good papaya salad, but I don't see what all the fuss is about. The Thai food non-lover had a shrimp dish that came with rice. It was fairly basic with some thai basil, onion and peppers. He enjoyed the straightforward and simple preparation. And lastly we had the crab fried rice which was just ok in my book. I wish the rice were not so mushy. There was plenty of crabmeat on top, but I thought the dish tasted too "eggy". Next visit I hope to get the duck, the spicy-grilled chicken and other shareables. We always are impressed with the food here and this visit was no different. It was close to Christmas and they were very busy. We called for a table and it was ready when we got there. We ordered a few appetizers which came quickly. Loved the beef jerky and coconut shrimp. The jerky was very thin slices of beef with a delicious flavor. I had my favorite dish, Salmon parang curry and just loved it. The panko crusted salmon and skin were crunchy and perfectly cooked and was made even better with the fabulous curry sauce and veggies. This dish is a must try. Our friends had eggs Benny noodles, pad thai, shrimp tom yum frid rice, and short rob curry. Everything was excellent and most the plates were wiped clean. Was craving Thai so a quick google search brought up Eathai-- and glad it did! Nestled in a mini strip center off federal highway lies this gem. Very clean and modern decor with a quaint bar area separated by a wall. Very friendly and attentive service with great food as well. Love this place just dont get here enough. Got a lunch special this visit, Prit King Chicken. These are priced very well. Cant get that dish everywhere. It was delicious, flavorful and the level 6 spice was perfect! Opted for salad over soup cuz their peanut sauce is the BOMB! Had their shrimp fresh rolls to start as I do every visit. They are fantastic - packed, fresh, flavorful! Service is always prompt, friendly. Place is clean and nicely decorated- not usual kitche and tastefully done. Industrial-chic meets Thai cocktail lounge, with a glowing bar, moody lighting, and a sharper menu to match. We started with the lychee mojito, light and minty, and a Thai iced tea martini, rich and creamy--basically dessert in a glass. The food was dialed in across the board. The double mushroom salad was savory and sneakily spicy, tossed with lime, herbs, and chili oil. Finally made it to the new Eathai location in East Boca, and it did not disappoint! The food was absolutely incredible--just as delicious as I remembered, if not better. They've upped the experience with a full bar now, featuring an impressive lineup of custom cocktails that are as creative as they are tasty. Bonus: they're currently offering a summer happy hour special with 50% off drinks from noon to 6 PM--a great excuse to indulge a little earlier in the day. We sat at the bar and had excellent customer service. Our bartender was attentive and extremely helpful! Food at Eathai was just so comforting and delicious! The flavors are strong and bold. The staff is incredible kind, fast, and efficient. The location is easy to find, with good parking space. Upon walking in, the restaurant has a very modern feel, clean, and understated. We ordered minced chicken lard with lettuce, and it citrusy, savory, and it was a bit spicier than we expected, but incredibly delicious! It's something so craveable, that we'll definitely come back to have it again! Since this is a Thai place, it just felt right to order the Pad Thai chicken, which was also really good, great flavor, although I wish it was a bit drier and spicier, but it was really good nonetheless. The last thing we ordered was the green curry short ribs. Omg. They did not disappoint! Probably the most delicious green curry I've had in a while. The boneless ribs were incredibly fatty, and tender, in the best of ways! The green curry was thick, with a nice spice, and delicious sweetness. This experience was very disappointing. I took my wife, baby, and mother here for a nice dinner, the place is 5 min from my house and it was empty! Excellent decor and Thai music in the background is always a good sign. Unfortunately my dinner experience was not good. My party ordered the pad Thai with chicken, Indian pancake appetizer, coconut shrimp, and I ordered ( the recommendation of my server) the almond crusted branzino with pineapple curry. The coconut shrimp: 7/10 - not bad, tasty breading, average sauce. Very small portion. Good but probably wouldn't order again. Pad Thai with chicken: 6/10 - This is not my favorite version of this dish. It's very very basic, not enough flavor or sauce, very underwhelming. Chicken was dry, egg was overcooked. Indian roti app: 9/10 - this was the highlight and the reason for the 2 stars. I want this recipe! Delicious flaky roti with an amazing curry. Wow. Great job on this one. Branzino with pineapple curry: 4/10 - first of all it came out almost 10 minutes later than everyone else's dinner. Second, I've never had a fried branzino filet served with the full backbone! I almost broke a tooth taking my first and only bite! Not a small bone either, the full backbone! Manager at first acted very condescendingly and made me explain to him that branzino shouldn't be served with the full backbone and especially not if it's a fried filet! He interrogated me as if I was lying. And said it must have been a small bone and that it happens. FYI it wasn't a small bone. It was the full backbone. Having to spend 5 minutes telling him that it was not normal to get a fried branzino with the full back bone was not the greatest. Luckily he came back and apologized and said he checked and I was right, he said it must have been a mistake as they never serve it with the backbone. He apologized. They insisted I order something else but it was getting late. My baby needed to get home. So I declined, but said thank you many many times. I agreed that it happens and told them not to worry. By this time my party was nearly done with their dinner so I just finished off the Indian roti. The manager came and begged me to accept something to go, he suggested fried rice to go, I assumed he was trying to make up for the mistake. I said no but after he insisted I told him to just give me whatever he wanted. I would take it to go. Mind you, I was essentially unable to eat dinner with my family so I thought this was just a nice gesture on his behalf. Other restaurants tend to do this when they make a mistake that ruins your experience. Well, I was WRONG! They charged me for the random fried rice that the manager relentlessly insisted I take to go. Luckily I checked the receipt before paying and asked the to take it off. Told them I had misunderstood and thought it was them doing something to fix my night. Nope, they did not care about the blunder they just wanted to sell! All I will say is the manager (a white, red haired guy) was nice until I asked him to take the ride off my receipt, then he treated very poorly. Spoke to me in a very rude manner. I was kind of surprised. He was angry but I was the one that had my time and dinner wasted/ruined. In conclusion, if that's the way they do business I guess the only thing I can do is not offer them my business. There are plenty of other places to go. read more

I'm spoiled when it comes to Thai food. In my opinion no one does Thai like they do in New York but with that said, this is authentic and not bad. Located in Delray on Federal Highway just south of Linton Blvd it's in a small shopping center with plenty of parking in the front and on the side. With all the great reviews I may have been expecting more. One of our dishes was excellent and the other was just OK. Baked Shrimp with Bean thread Noodle in the Hot Pot was fabulous. The noodles were so fresh. This dish is definitely something to go back for. Sautéed Calamari with Salty Egg was bland and overcooked. The Calamari was rubbery and chewy. I never saw the egg, which was no big deal and the entire dish was disappointing. Prices are very reasonable, I will definitely go back for that noodle dish and try some other dishes. Dessert looked pretty good too... they do the Thai rolled ice cream and the look on the little girls face as she watched them make her ice cream was absolutely precious. I saw several recent bad reviews for Eathai and almost didn't try it out until I realized all three of the bad reviews were from the same party of 6. Let's be upfront here. If you are looking for a slice of lemon to be served with your water, a comfy leather booth, valet parking and a $200 price tag for a family of four - keep driving east and stop at Atlantic Avenue. That may be more your style. However, if you want some great, authentic Thai food at a reasonable price, Eathai is the place to visit. No problems with service. Several servers kept checking in on us, refilling our waters, and bringing us extra hot sauce and rice. I have eaten a lot of Thai food and was impressed by the wide variety of unique dishes. We had the garlic and pepper shrimp. Romaine lettuce with some nice seasoned shrimp on top. Flank steak jaew hawn - think of Tom yum soup but instead of shrimp it had glass noodles and flank steak with a spicy kick. It was great! The best dishes were the crab fried rice and chef special short rib with green curry. Wonderful fried rice with fresh crab and spicy hot sauce. My family devoured it and wanted more. And the short rib curry? Wonderful flavors and a ton of short rib meat in it. We practically licked the plates clean trying to scrape the last morsels of food off our plates. We had all that and 4 Thai iced teas and it was less than $100. Very reasonable prices for Delray given how fresh the food was. We are only here for a week and my family is already asking to go back. Our group of six people was looking for a good Thai restaurant. Eathai is not it. While the food was decent, it was not better than other Thai places. And the service was atrocious. Based on positive Yelp reviews, we thought Eathai would be busy on a Saturday night, so we made a reservation. The restaurant had a decent crowd but reservations don't seem to be necessary. Fortunately, we were usured to a table that had seats with backs. Several of the tables had bench seating only. For this reason, diners might consider making a reservation and specifically requesting the seats with backs. Throughout our dining experience we literally had to request -- and practically beg the server for -- everything: menus, water, straws, placing our order, clearing the dishes, water refills, to-go boxes, and the check. In some cases, we had to ask multiple times for these items. We actually had to get up and find the server to request our check. Maybe we should have started to leave without paying to see how quickly the server would respond! While we weren't in a rush, the lack of service became irritating. We saw some tables turn over twice before we completed our dinner. The service was simply unacceptable. And the server didn't seem at all concerned or apologetic. The food was generally tasty although the pad Thai entrees were very salty, the cashew chicken was a bit spicy despite the menu not indicating such, and the chicken fried rice was fairly bland. The bouillabaisse soup, which contained mushrooms along with several varieties of seafood in a spicy broth, was good. Unfortunately, the mussels weren't cooked enough and were difficult to open. The portion sizes were generally on the smaller side. Two people in our group took home part of their pad Thai dinners, not because of the quantity of food but because they didn't enjoy the meals very much and were planning to have their spouses eat the leftovers rather than throw out the food. ("Waste not, want not!" as our moms used to say.) The quantity of chicken in several of the dishes seemed somewhat limited as well. Would we come back to Eathai again? Probably not. Amazing food!!! We had the Short Ribs curry, Masaman curry and dry egg noodle garlic. The dry Egg noodle garlic dish was INSANE!!!!

They are always very busy so a reservation is highly recommended. I've been both at dinner and lunch and can recommend both. They offer a lovely lunch menu with nice specials and the dinner menu is so great!
