Stopped in for Chinese food. Ordered the sesame chicken with brown rice and an egg roll. The chicken was tough and chewy. It wasn't very fresh. The brown rice was very nice and the egg roll was tasty. Service was a little slow. It took a while to get our check. The restaurant is decorated very nicely. May try again if in the area and get something other than the chicken. The others in the party enjoyed theirs Kung pao shrimp and pepper steak. read more

Been craving pecking duck and was so happy when I found this place. They have spacious parking, and a lot of seating. We came in a Thursday night around 7pm and they weren't to busy. The inside was very beautiful very nice and pretty interior, perfect for date night! We ordered the half peking duck, and it was amazing, I havent found a place where you didn't have to order in advance, they had plenty. So moist and juicy, definitely recommend! Honestly food was just okay. This is not super authentic, even chopsticks were nowhere to be found The soup dumplings did not have the soupiness per say. To the point that we were not offered those curved spoons that are standard to catch the inside liquid. Great place for Peking duck still. Though I must advise you pricing has changed drastically since the renovations. The old price was 43$ for a whole Peking duck with 2 soups and fried rice. Now it is I think 90$ for a whole duck and 2 soups. No rice. Hard to find a good duck place so sometimes it's just worth paying, but know ahead of time what you are signing up for. The restaurant appears modest in size, but their service rivals restaurants double the size. The eponymous Peking Duck is scrumptious and the skin is nothing short of crispy perfection. We also got traditional Chinese there and soup all of which was excellent. Our only issue was the Mongolian beef came out lukewarm. But we mentioned it within 5 minutes we had a new, hot plate in front of us. Our server Ammie, and the runners earned their money tonight and our satisfaction shows. With a full restaurant and background music playing, the acoustics were perfect; we could hear each other easily. As my primary photo shoots, the decor is engaging and interesting. We ordered the Peking duck and it was cold the service was pretty good, I don't think we're going back again.

Lately for some reason I've noticed a decline in the food I've ordered in the past and while some items are the same others are not quite as good. I understand that for the relatively low cost of most of the menu items that I'm not going to get high end food however some of the dishes are a little questionable. The noodle dishes are still good and that seems to be where Peking Duck excels but it's items with protein that I'm not loving. I do however still like that the dishes are lighter and less sauced than many other local Chinese restaurants. Service is well intentioned and everyone is friendly but there are long lapses in visits to the table. I would still go back but be a little more careful in my selections. read more

1/13/25 Enjoyed a fantastic dinner with good friends at the newly renovated Peking Duck House. We started with appetizers of Goza and crystal shrimp dumplings. Both were very flavorful. Onto the Peking Duck! The presentation could not have been better. The duck skin was crispy, breast sliced perfectly served with paper thin pancakes, and all of the accroutremen . We also tried the walnut shrimp, my favorite (gorgeous presentation) and the Mongolian beef. Everything was beautifully prepared and very tasty. Came with friends and was really looking forward to eating here since the renovation. The restaurant was closed for a while and it was sold. The new owners cleaned it up and the inside is nice. Food IMO was just ok. It may have been what I ordered. The wonton soup was bland. The broth had no taste. My husband had the hot and sour soup and he really liked it. I used to live the crispy noodles they served with the soup, but they don't have them now. The chicken with mixed vegetables was ok. Once I added some chili oil, it finally had some taste. Our friends had the duck and they said it was excellent. It's a drive to get down here, so I'm in no hurry to get back. read more

We just came back from a vacation in Pompano Beach and of all the restaurants we dined out for dinner, THIS was our worst experience. We've been to many restaurants in the region for dinner over the 10+ years we've visited Pompano Beach for our annual December vacations. We don't recommend because of these three reasons: 1) Once we were seated, it took about 20 minutes to be greeted by our server; the service was just okay for the rest of the meal. 2) We ordered soup (each selected a different soup) and both came out lukewarm. Nobody in sight to notify. We were afraid that by the time we got hot soup, our meals would be delivered. 3) Our meals were mixed up. We both ordered a Fish dish but the accompaniments were mixed up. Each dish had the opposite dish's toppings and side veggies. Not a good sign before we ate it. All in all, even though the restaurant was clean and had a good vibe, we were disappointed, despite all the 4-star reviews read here. read more

My wife and I gave this restaurant a try even though some of the reviews were not that good. The ambience was nice and the restaurant was very clean. The server was very friendly and attentive. The food was actually very tasty. We started with the hot and sour soup and shrimp dumplings. The soup was flavorful and full of vegetables tofu and mushrooms. The shrimp dumplings would be my only complaint of the meal. They really didn't have much flavor and were kinda mushy. For dinner we had the, Singapore Street noodles, General Taos Chicken and young chow fried rice. Everything was yummy. Singapore noodles were very flavorful and loaded with vegetables and meat. The General Tao chicken was crispy and the sauce was perfect. The Fried Rice was perfectly made and had a great flavor and it too had a good amount of shrimp, chicken and pork. All and all it was a very good meal. This by far, it is no Rainbow palace, but for traditional Chinese cuisine it probably was some of the best we have had in the Fort Lauderdale/Pompano area. We made reservations for 6 people at 5:30. They easily accommodated the group. We ordered a variety of dishes. The star was the person who had the half peking-duck. He said it was Delicious. i would have sworn it was half of a Cornish hen. $44 dollars...so a whole hen would be $88. The pad Thai dish with chicken was just average. The sesame chicken was decent, but not remarkable. Hot and sour soup was pretty good, probably the best we've had in Florida. Egg drop soup typical as was the honey garlic chicken. Service was very good and server was extremely friendly. The ambiance is inline with a typical Chinese restaurant and appeared to be clean. They had a TV tuned to Fox News when we walked in. I requested they turn it off. They quickly changed it to a sports channel. My overall opinion is nice place, good service and really average Chinese fair with a pricy bill. I am from NY- that being said- I haven't found any Chinese restaurants that are close to what I have been used to. However- I did enjoy what I had. Started with egg drop soup. It was good, better when I added some hot mustard! I never had twice cooked pork before- it was pretty good & spicy. On the medium side like I asked. My mom had wonton soup & said it was very good. Loaded with wontons. She had Shrimp in lobster sauce. She liked it too. Hubby had egg rolls , hot & sour soup & Mongolian Beef. He really liked it. It was spicy & he did ask it to be. Our server, Patrick was very helpful. He held an umbrella for my mom, when it starting pouring outside. That was very thoughtful of him.We were seated in a booth that was close to the door. Very lovely Red decor on the wall. I will definitely come back to check out their dinner menu. I will give it 3 1/2 stars. read more

Solid American Chinese performance by Peking Duck House tonight. Rachel and I joined Youtuber-influencer Myung Dal Choi (aka Mukdaddy Mukbang) and his kids for dinner. We ordered a mix of the American Chinese classics and a few Cantonese dishes--and honestly, it was better than expected. Orange Peel Chicken stole the show: bright orange flavor, tangy with a mild kick, and sweet without being cloying. The coating had a great texture. Easily one of the best versions we've had locally. Fried Rice was the usual mix--roast pork, onion, egg, peas, and carrots. Solid flavor, but I still prefer Chifa Tay Pa's version in the area. Big surprise of the night: Walnut Shrimp. Normally a "skip it" dish for us--usually tiny shrimp swimming in mayo. Not here. These were jumbo tail-on shrimp, tempura-fried and lightly drizzled with the sauce, with chopped candied walnuts. Even Rachel, who usually hates walnut shrimp, was impressed. Spare Ribs were flavorful with a great sauce, though the texture was very soft and fall-apart--probably catering to an older crowd. Still enjoyable. Peking Duck was good (we've had it here before), but leans greasy. A special of Mussels in Black Bean Sauce (which had a little bit of heat, surprisingly), were tasty but note: they're the previously frozen New Zealand kind, not PEI or domestic. Egg Roll was a win--big, and filled with a good amount of cabbage and roast pork. No preserved veg or shrimp, but for $6 a pair in SoFL, that seems like a pipe dream. Cold Cucumber Appetizer was another hit--cool, crunchy, flavorful. Not as spicy as Mainland's version, but a crowd-pleaser at the table. Only miss: Chicken Lettuce Wraps. Dry, salty meat--needed dark meat for juiciness and definitely hoisin. We asked for hoisin on the side and told the owner it needs reworking. Overall, a strong showing for classic Chinese-American comfort food, and some dishes that really surprised us. read more

Peking Duck House (revisited-Finally!), 1200 E Atlantic Blvd, Pompano Beach, FL (954) 946-0436 was our go-to for great Chinese food for years (going back into the last century-but nevermind), where it was a Family Tradition to dine there before leaving my Mom & Dad for visits several times a year. We always loved it! Hubs & I would go for a special treat or take-out when the mood for real good Chinese food would hit... an insatiable craving for honey-garlic chicken (he) and Mongolian beef (me). Over time, and I really hate to say this, having loved the restaurant SO much, they weren't as good as they used to be. Next thing you know, we drive by one day and CLOSED!! (for remodeling) Seemed like it was years. Wait! It WAS years! But I digress... we drove by one day and BINGO! OPEN! But every time we drove by it was packed. Finally, last Thursday, we drove by and BINGO! Open! With plenty of parking! Made a quick res online (Open Table) and we were instantly accommodated! We were informed, however, to call in the res vs. online. Peking Duck House HAS been completely remodeled! Given an incredible face lift (think Cher or Raquel Welch). Gone was the stained glass ceiling reminiscent of The Poseidon Adventure movie. A red and white Chinese mural graced the east wall, with gentle beige and brown tones throughout and comfy booths and table seating. I was charmed by the divider at the end of the restaurant, wooden cubbies each with a traditional Chinese iron teapot! Ok ok, the food! Fabulous! The vegetable spring rolls were light, crispy, delicately seasoned and served with a light n' lovely dipping sauce. Hubs got a favorite, General Tso's chicken while I splurged on the Lobster Pad Thai. We also ordered chicken fried rice (nice!), hot Sake (me), iced tea (he) and the portions were more than ample. A nice big fat lobster tail sat atop delicately peanut-sauced pad thai noodles. Yum! Strawberries and exotic purple orchids graced the plate. Hubs' General Tso's chicken was lightly fried, gently spicy (sweet, with a l'il bit of heat~ but I do believe they'll adjust that to taste for you). The upscale menu is mostly a la carte and decently priced. Impeccable service was accommodating, on point and we never wanted for anything. Complimentary Fortune Cookies were provided at the end of the meal. For Great Chinese in a beautiful restaurant: GO!! The Big Golden Buddah is still there so if you go, rub his belly for luck, tell him we say "Hi!" and "See you soon." read more

Sept 2025, Vicky our Server was WONDERFUL very polite and took great care of our large table. They have a great menu, that is not overwhelming with lots of choices. We shared the Moo Shu Pork (4 pancakes and House Special Fried Rice made with Shrimp, beef, chicken, roast pork, egg, scallion, pea and onions was delicious. However, the Vegetable Spring Roll (2) was just ok in my opinion the shell was too hard and vegetable inside a little mushy. I know they revamped this restaurant, however I was disappointed that they did not have a Bar inside. Plus, the Bathroom in my opinion needs to be redone - it was an eye sore and not pleasant to be in. read more

I was thrilled to find Peking Duck reopened. It's just as I had remembered it from years past. The interior has been updated and with its high ceilings, it has the best eye-appealing interior décor of any Chinese restaurant. The best feature of Peking Duck is that it is reliable. You can always rely upon the fact that you will get a decent Chinese meal, rather good food, at a reasonable price with typical Chinese big portions and outstandingly good service. At Peking Duck there won't be any surprises, the wait staff are all well-seasoned uniformly dressed professionals and the kitchen doesn't attempt anything adventurous, out of the ordinary, or any Chinese foods that have been rather thoroughly Americanized. In other words, they serve what an American, not what a Chinese person expects in Chinese food. Hence, I would fully agree with the other Yelpers who mentioned the food as being "unremarkable," which it is. The food in no way even comes close in comparison to the likes of Rainbow Palace. As for the restaurant itself, there is adequate free parking, it is well decorated, even appearing rather lavish with its high (40-foot?) ceiling. They know their customer base well, which is old, like an old age customer base almost leading one to think they could be dining in an ornate adjunct to an assisted living home. Having missed lunch and been caught with the consequent early hungries, I happened to walk in during their early, before 6 o'clock special, and with me being 80 years of age, I was a spring chicken young kid in comparison to the rest. Believe me, you won't see any of these customers texting, Android or iPhone playing while waiting to be served and you will most likely witness the frugality of more doggy bag take homes by dogless people than anywhere else. For my meal, I of course had to have their Peking Duck and it was exceptionally good. Unlike so many other Chinese restaurants where you have to order Peking duck days in advance, here it is a part of their regular daily menu. read more

I never leave bad reviews because a restaurant can have a bad night. I don't believe this is the case with Peking Duck. We ordered 3 dinners and two went in the garbage. 65.00 worth of food. The chicken chow mein pictured below was all cabbage and celery stalk. Only 4 pcs of chicken. The flavor tasted fishy. The Sweet & Sour chicken was soggy and tasteless. Under cooked!!! my aunt and uncle suggested we go here for dinner. I read the reviews the pictures looked real good so I thought why not give it a shot. There are no words to explain how disappointed that was in my experience here. First the tray serve they duck on is quite big and you don't eat off this tray so that means that you have this big bulky tray in front of you and a small plate next to you to try and eat your dinner. it just made the whole much more difficult than it needed to be. I've had Peking duck at different places, my whole life, and it was never served this way. Usually it's served on a plate or cut up nice but the side dishes. OK enough about the display. Let's talk quality of food. It really isn't there. A very small portion of a duck, very thin pancakes and a few greens to add to your sandwich. No other side dish, not even rice. In my favorite Chinese restaurant not only do they make the sandwiches for you, but they take the carcass and make duck fried rice and that's included in your meal. My eggrolls had more grease on them than a piece of pizza. When I lifted up the eggroll, grease, was dripping in giant pools at the bottom of the plate. The only good thing I ate in the entire dinner was my wonton soup. This is a restaurant you should avoid. I know I won't be back. read more

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, the atmosphere and the service at Peking Duck House, not to mention the company joining us. We arrived early evening with a reservation. The two dining areas were not yet busy, but as the night went on both filled quickly. Four of us ordered different entrees starting with egg rolls and won ton soup. The dishes were General Tsos Chicken, Hong Kong Duck Ramen, Crispy Pipa Duck (w sauce on the side) and Singapore Mei Fun. The dishes came out fast, hot and plentiful and all seemed to enjoy their choices with no room left for dessert. The presentation was very nice for the duck meals. Peking Duck is their specialty although it is a lot of food for one person. The Crispy Pipa Duck was an excellent alternative. We had a very nice dinner and good company. Parking was easy in the lot and prices were very fair. We will all return for another gathering and are happy to have a good Chinese restaurant nearby! read more

Except for the name -- which they kept from the old restaurant -- everything is new here. We'd been former patrons for more than 30 years. We'd been eagerly waiting for this place to re-open. They have a more refined menu, and the entire restaurant has been redecorated. Even the stained-glass ceiling -- which was a remnant of the Italian restaurant that was originally located here many, many years ago -- has been covered up. We'd made reservations, but as we came a bit later than the main crowd, we were seated immediately. Our server was delightful. She greeted us right away and took our drink order. We knew what we wanted, so on her return we ordered our dinner. We also requested chop sticks and extra napkins. My husband started with some hot n sour soup. Even though he added in vinegar and some hot oil with red pepper flakes, he said the soup was just okay. He probably wouldn't order this here again. This was our only disappointment. I began with an order of egg rolls. There were two to the order. The outside wrapper was similar to the usual traditional egg rolls, but the inside filling was different. It had pork in it, but the consistency and flavor were not the usual. In spite of this, I really liked them. In fact, I'd been planning on eating one eggroll and saving the other to take home and wound up eating both! For our main entree, we shared the half Peking duck. It's served in a bento style box with compartments. One had six thin round pancakes; one had pickle slices; one had slivers of scallions and cucumber pieces; and one had pieces of duck meat, and crispy skin, and a duck wing. A bowl of hoisin sauce was served on the side. We "rolled" our own pancakes. We both like adding a base of hoisin sauce first, then layering on the duck meat, topped with scallions and cucumbers. We added extra hoisin as needed. We didn't use the pickles. We had a bit of meat left over and ate every crumb. It's not an inexpensive dish, but we felt it was delicious and worth every penny. While there, we also got a chance to talk to Mike (?) the manager. We told him about our past visits. And wished him well. Our only concern was that the pancakes served with the duck got cold very fast. He made a note of this comment. He stopped by every table and spoke to everyone that was dining near us for their feedback. We are looking forward to dining here again. This restaurant is absolutely beautiful. From the moment I walked in I was treated with a smile by Michael the host who was very kind and personable. Once we were seated, Vicky our waitress, greeted us with a smile. We never had to ask for more water. We never had to ask for dishes to be cleared from the table. Everyone worked in Harmony as a team. I spoke with manager to complement her on choosing the people that she had in her restaurant. The food was quite amazing. Very delicious. I highly recommend since the prices were very reasonable. The experience is rare in Florida restaurants. Five stars in all categories for this great find.
