    Wonton soup
    Jo H.

Came just in time before their lunch special ended at 3pm. There were a couple of people inside ordering take out when I entered. A female employee greeted me as I looked at the menu on the counter. I decided on the bourbon chicken which was served with my choice of fried rice and wonton soup. I asked the female if wonton noodles came with the soup and she assured me that she would put a small bag along with the food. It was about a 15 minute wait. There are adequate table seating if you want to eat your food inside. The wonton soup was just the right size for me...usually the container has too much broth and I end up throwing it away after eating the wontons. Broth wasn't salty and wontons didn't have a chewy texture like it was sitting in the broth for too long. The bourbon chicken was nicely prepared and complemented the fried rice well. I used the duck & soy sauce packets provided to add some flavor to the fried rice as it was cooked with no salt. Reasonably priced and portioned for a nice lunch, I thoroughly enjoyed the food.

Pick up order. Friendly, all good until I got home and started eating. The hot and sour soup was overly thick with corn starch and ZERO sour to it. 4 people took a bite at the same time and basically freaked out over the taste. Nothing like it is supposed to be. Then I took a second bite and almost broke my tooth on a piece of wood that was in there - attached.

We are staying right next door in the Wyndham and wanted Chinese food. Googled it and found the number. Found a menu online which seemed old because after ordering the food, the total was a lot more than expected. Ordered wings with a quart of white rice, quart beef lo mein and a combination of boneless spare ribs with house special fried rice. The total was $30 and some cents. The portion was not worth the price-- it's definitely pricey! The lo mein tasted good but there was hardly any beef in there! The portion of the boneless spare ribs was small as well but according to my husband, it tasted real good.

    Vegetable Lo Mein....delicious!

The food here is consistently good with friendly customer service. The meal is always made-to-order & is still hot by the time we get home. The vegetable lo mein is our favorite. I recommend this place!

I'm super picky with Chinese restaurants and am always hesitant to try someplace new. China wok did not disappoint! We ordered to go on a rainy Saturday night. Ordering Online via their website was super easy and they gave an estimated 30 minutes until it would be ready. When my husband went to pick it up, he said the credit card machine was down so it took a few extra minutes but everything was ready within the time given. We started with the wanton soup. I added this on a wim since it was raining it sounded so cozy. It was the best wonton soup I've had! Nice and gingery and tasty! My husband ordered the sweet and sour combination dinner and I ordered the honey chicken combination dinner. The dinners come with fried rice and an egg roll. Good portion and plenty for a leftover lunch the next day. I was a bit bummed that the chicken had the sauce on the side but not that big of a deal. The egg roll was a little over fried as well. Overall, definitely found my new spot for Chinese to go

I was in the Pompano Beach area and remembered there was a Chinese restaurant in the Garden Isles Shopping Center. The parking spaces fill up quickly during the evening; luckily, I managed to find one. A pleasant employee greeted me and took my order for a quart of house special wonton soup. I asked the employee if he had fried wonton noodles to go with the soup, and he confirmed that he did. The small restaurant had only a few tables if you chose to eat inside. It offers a wide selection of dishes at reasonable prices. I received my order within minutes and immediately headed home. As I pulled the container out of the bag, I was pleased to see it filled with not only wontons, but also shrimp, chicken, roast pork, carrots, broccoli, snap peas, scallions, celery, and mushrooms all in a flavorful broth. Now this is a wonton soup I can thoroughly enjoy.

While waiting for my party to arrive, I perused the wine menu. It was quite extensive. I think an oenophile would be quite happy with the selection offered. I had a Cotes du Rhone (Alain Jaume, $12) that I thoroughly enjoyed. The menu is adequately sized, but I would not say it was extensive. If you are looking for your favorite Sunday eve dish, you may not find it here, but you won't have a problem if you can pivot to another preparation. Dishes ordered at my table were a spring roll, a house special wonton soup (very flavorful) and lobster dumplings for appetizers. If I can be nit-picky, I'd suggest that they change the size of their dishes to smaller plates and bowls. The food looked puny on the large stark-white plates without a garnish, but all the flavors were spot on, so does it really matter? I actually think it does because you can tell that the owners take pride in the details of their establishment. For entree's, we ordered a spicy shrimp dish (4 jumbo, crisp shrimps came in the order), a Grand Marnier crispy beef (4 large pieces), a house fried rice with nuggets of char siu pork, tender baby shrimp, white meat chicken, egg and vegetables and a special of wok fried string beans which was by far the standout of our meal. After supper, we ordered some tea. It was somewhat weak in flavor but that could have been our fault; we did not let it steep long enough. The waiter came by with a tray of delicious-looking cakes to choose from but we declined. Every person that we encountered was nicer than the next. The waiters were knowledgeable and paced our meal well. Prices are not inexpensive, and reservations are definitely suggested. They do takeout as well.

I didn't understand the prices until the food came out. The shrimp and scallops were HUGE. I mean the size of a crab cake almost. The quality and freshness of the seafood makes this place next level. The portions are also large and shareable -- for 2 ppl we had leftovers. I fell in love with the Chinese mustard sauce they put on the table. Added the perfect touch of spice / heat. They have a full bar but they made me a nice grapefruit cocktail I enjoyed.

It's in a different type of location -- a very small strip of businesses with only a few spots in front -- in the middle of a residential location. We were driving by between lunch and dinner and decided to stop to bring some food home for a later meal. When we stopped by, we got to meet the owners and chef. They were both very welcoming and friendly. He told us about some special meals and made suggestions. He was preparing some blue crabs for his own lunch, and they looked wonderful. You can get some special meals here, off menu, if you preorder. We went with a couple of our usual choices so we could see how they compared. We ordered some pork with Chinese vegetables and an order of Singapore rice noodles. Plus, for me an order of egg roll. The rice noodles were such a large portion that it filled two containers. And we wound up eating several meals from our take home food. The eggroll was very good. I ate one right away! There were two to the order. It had a different crispy wrapper -- it seemed house made. And it was filled with larger bits of meat. I really liked it. There was a lot of large flat pork slices in with the vegetables. In a brown sauce, there was broccoli, bok choy, pea pods, etc. It came with a side container of white rice. The rice noodles were fragrant with curry, but it only had a slight kick (as in not too spicy). There were lots of shrimp, chicken, and pork strips mixed in with the thin noodles. This dish was addictive. We are so glad we stopped to try them. Really one of the better Chinese places we've tried and certainly one of the better take-out places. Wish they were closer, or we'd be there more often.
