Like I mentioned before..... There should be 2 more stars for China Star. My favorite is General Choi's Chicken. My neighbor always asks "why do you always pick that" My answer " why mix it up when I taste something of perfection! read more

Awesome Food and Service Egg Drop Soup, larger than normal, a great lite soup. Fried dumplings , larger than normal, tasty dipping sauces. Pork Ribs with Fried Rice. Ribs are normally greasy un my past dinning. These were tasty but a bit chewy. Overall a great price point. 8 of 10 food, 10 on Service. I highly recommend visiting the China Star. read more

China Star - Yellow C42. Curry (Chicken or Pork) (Dinner) with no vegetables as ordered. - Chinese Near Me - Pompano Beach, Florida

Everything they cook is so delicious and fresh. You can't ask for better Chinese food, traditional and aromatic. We love to eat this food is so yummy. Consistently excellent thank you read more

Came just in time before their lunch special ended at 3pm. There were a couple of people inside ordering take out when I entered. A female employee greeted me as I looked at the menu on the counter. I decided on the bourbon chicken which was served with my choice of fried rice and wonton soup. I asked the female if wonton noodles came with the soup and she assured me that she would put a small bag along with the food. It was about a 15 minute wait. There are adequate table seating if you want to eat your food inside. The wonton soup was just the right size for me...usually the container has too much broth and I end up throwing it away after eating the wontons. Broth wasn't salty and wontons didn't have a chewy texture like it was sitting in the broth for too long. The bourbon chicken was nicely prepared and complemented the fried rice well. I used the duck & soy sauce packets provided to add some flavor to the fried rice as it was cooked with no salt. Reasonably priced and portioned for a nice lunch, I thoroughly enjoyed the food. read more

Great Chinese food with good service. The inside is clean and stocked. It's good to have something in the neighborhood at a decent price. I tried other Chinese food restaurants in the area and this one is the best. read more

Ordered here for my lunch and the food dogs not taste good. The honey garlic isn't the normal honey garlic it's a thick orange sauce and the rice is hard with Weird texture. Your best bet it to go to any of the other Chinese spots around. Very dissatisfied read more

This is a convenient and local take-out place for us. We ordered our dinner to be picked up. It takes me about 10 minutes to get to the restaurant and when I arrived, they were just bagging our order. The Singapore Rice Noodles is one of my favorites and my wife wanted to try the Mongolian Beef dish. Driving I got to enjoy the delicious wafting aromas from the food in my car. When we opened our container dishes everything was quite appealing and upon digging in, delicious as well! The Singapore rice noodles had plenty of chicken, veggies, pork and lots of tender shrimp. The beef had a very nice brown sauce and was delicious as well. Plentiful portions and fast service! read more

I ordered the lunch special with fried wings. I waited for 15 minutes, no problem . The wings were ok but I substituted the port for shrimp, paid the extra money and the shrimps were undercooked and the rice had a burnt taste . I had to throw it away . My first time and the last time. read more

The only take out foods I would order here. The foods are delicious and they are clean. Prices are reasonable.

Pick up order. Friendly, all good until I got home and started eating. The hot and sour soup was overly thick with corn starch and ZERO sour to it. 4 people took a bite at the same time and basically freaked out over the taste. Nothing like it is supposed to be. Then I took a second bite and almost broke my tooth on a piece of wood that was in there - attached. read more

The food is good. The restaurant... smells like very old grease might be in those grease traps. The business is not very dine-in friendly. They are fast, polite, take accountability and family run. I love the honey garlic chicken wings and that's all I care really about. read more

Last night I ordered Moo Shu pork, and Mongolian beef. The Mongolian beef had a good flavor but you would have a difficult time finding any meat, it was mostly onions and brown gravy. The same goes for the Moo Shu pork, had a good flavor and very hard to see much in the way of meat, that's even after paying $2.00 for extra meat. So I paid $37.00 for gravy and onions, and cabbage in sauce. Look for a second choice. read more

Below average. Food tastes Old Sesame Chicken doesn't taste like chicken. Feels fluffy. Honey Garlic was decent but not very clean read more

More like 3 1/2 stars. Almost 4. After not ordering from here in quite awhile, we decided to try it again. It's so convenient. We called in our order and specified some spice but not mild in our dishes. We were told 15 minutes -- which is the usual answer to everything. Imagine our surprise when we got there on time and they actually were just bagging up our order. We got everything to go, but there are a couple tables in front of the counter where you could eat... should you want to. It really is more of a takeout place though. When we got home, the food was still piping hot. The Singapore rice noodles had lots of shrimp, pork, and chicken plus veggies mixed into the aromatic curry flavored noodles. With a touch of spice (red pepper flakes), it was perfect. We also got Mongolian beef -- thinly sliced tender pieces of meat mixed in with a ton of onions and scallions. A very tasty sauce -- so much so, that I was spooning it over the white rice that came with it. I think they're better than they were a year ago. Maybe a new chef? Looking forward to trying some new dishes from here soon... read more

We are staying right next door in the Wyndham and wanted Chinese food. Googled it and found the number. Found a menu online which seemed old because after ordering the food, the total was a lot more than expected. Ordered wings with a quart of white rice, quart beef lo mein and a combination of boneless spare ribs with house special fried rice. The total was $30 and some cents. The portion was not worth the price-- it's definitely pricey! The lo mein tasted good but there was hardly any beef in there! The portion of the boneless spare ribs was small as well but according to my husband, it tasted real good. read more

Not worth it . Sweet and Sour chicken tasted like it came out of a frozen bag that you buy from Publix . White rice wasn't soft and no fortune cookies . Large came in a box not a container . Just moved in the area will not be back ! read more

My go-to spot for local Chinese style food! The fried chicken wings are so delicious, the fried rice taste wonderful and the lo-mein as well. I honestly don't have any complaints about this business they are wonderful and always courteous. My only wish is that they delivered. read more

Food quality the past year has improved significantly. New chef?? The General Tchao chicken is delicious. The bonkess spareribs are tasty with very little fat. The dumplings whether fried or steamed are very tasty. Since all made fresh, they will alter spices for you, as needed. Reasonable prices, food usually ready within 10-15 minutes! read more

Fast and delicious (not to mention inexpensive!). The hot & sour soup is really hot! Love it! Portions are generous too. Highly recommended!! read more

It's authentic Chinese but only to the extent of having that "cheap Made in China" quality. Basically it's a nothing of a place, a mere fast food or takeout. For whatever reason if you long for Asian food, few Chinese restaurants with the possible exceptions of Silver Pond (simple but very authentic) or Rainbow Palace (gourmet, pricey and upper class), can possible hold a candle to any one of the Thai or Japanese restaurants. I've tried several of the China Star slopped together Americanized Chinese concoctions and failed to find any that were very good. read more

Honestly, I wasn't expecting much from this place. I was pleasantly surprised!!!! Excellent customer service from the women who took my order. The food was delicious. Egg rolls were fresh and not greasy. The fried rice was tasty! I ordered General Tso chicken and Shrimp with lobster sauce. Both orders were on point! I will definitely order again and would recommend this restaurant. read more

When you go to a different state for vacation, you go to places that the locals favor. You try different things. Me, I stick to what I know...Chinese food! This place was right across the street from our resort, so I decided to try it out.. I ordered the General Tso's chicken with lo mien and my sob ordered the same with fried rice. Let me tell you, this was the best damn GTC I have tastes...EVER! The chicken was so full of flavor with no gristle like you get at most restaurants. I wasn't a fan of the lo mien, but the rice was on point! If I ever return to Pompano Beach, this is gonna be the first place I hit. Step up you game, Virginia Beach! read more

POOR VALUE. 3 Shrimp in their $14 dish!!!! Hi folks. If you want really really bad Chinese food with horrible customer service, than enjoy your meal at China star. I've tried twice to get the order issued resolved with perhaps a manager, the Asian woman at the counter. I ordered a premium dish for $14 that was supposed to have shrimp and scallops in it. There were only three shrimp and over cooked vegetables mostly carrots. When I informed them of it they said they would provide a credit. I just came in and now they're saying their are NOT going to honor their promise. Then she quite rudely informed me that they only put three shrimp in their premium dishes. The other dish I've ordered twice is eggplant and garlic. The second time I let them know that the first time I ordered it the eggplant was barely cooked. They promised me to cook this time. I took the food home to eat and discovered that it wasn't cooked again. Really really despise my experiences this restaurant. I do not recommend. read more

So happy this take out place is back open again! Their food is delicious, the staff is friendly and now they are taking a lot of safety precautions by having contact free pick up. I'm vegetarian so the General Tso Tofu is heaven sent, my partner always goes for the crispy chicken without the sweet and sour sauce because it's so crunchy. If you want the chicken sauce I recommend the orange chicken. But honestly never disappointed with China Star. read more

Good takeout food Tried them because our regular Chinese takeout was closed from the Corona as are most places now.

I have been coming here for more than 5 years and i am always satisfied. Great customer service and great food. NY approval

The egg rolls were the best I've ever had. The lo mein was delicious. The hot and sour soup tasted like onion vomit. The fried rice was bleh. The good stuff was really good. The bad stuff was horrid read more

China star, I love you! My coworkers and I order dinner from this spot all the time. Fast and friendly service and consistent with the food quality. This place used to be my boyfriend and mine goto Chinese restaurant because it's only down the street from us. The staff used to be really friendly and the food was surprisingly delicious for a small "fast food" restaurant. Just recently they had a change of ownership, the quality of the food had gone down. The dish that I used to always order- Singapore rice noodle- now is so dry and tasteless. And I tried the new pai Thai for the first time, the noodle was drench in dark sauce and extremely salty... Inedible and unappeali Sad to say this, but it's time to find a new place to go for Chinese food.. :( read more

Decided to search yelp for a chinese take out place nearby. What a find! Ordered sweet n sour chix combo for dinner and the chinese donuts for dessert (enough to last you a week!) Also got the ice tea. Everything was yummy. Customer service was great. Had a small wait but that usually means the food is that good. Will be back read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a restaurant. The customer service was atrocious. Not only did they forget part of my order. They REFUSED to refund me or to deliver the missing items. Instead, they so kindly offered that I walk to their restaurant after I explained I do not have a car. I am disgusted by the lack of compassion and lack of regard for the law. If I could give 0 out of 5 stars I would. read more

I'm happy to have China Star nearby. The food is good enough--it's your typical Chinese takeout, but it's definitely some of the better take out that I've had. And with that, I'd say it is hard to be overly picky with their prices. Whether you're ordering a lunch meal or a dinner platter, I don't spend more than $10 AND there is always leftovers. The staff is friendly, the food is good, the prices are great. I'd recommend it to anyone. Thanks China Star! read more
