In the mood for an after lunch espresso with a pastry and noticed several cafes along 441 in South West Boca. This small Colombian cafe was in the center of an older plaza and took a chance. About half of the tables were occupied by customers and copped a quick peek at their latino style food which looked promising. The main display was full of pastries which included bonello, cookies, breads and small cakes. The golden brown bonellos (well priced at $2.00) were absolutely massive and decided to have one to split with the wife. The server advised that the cafe only serves Colombian drip coffee from a basic kettle, which she proudly pointed at (see pic). Based on this unforeseen depressing news, the mammoth bonello no longer seemed that spectacular. This was a first for me, a Colombian cafe that only serves drip coffee? Cmon. I took the bonello to my vehicle and took a few bites which were tasty, but rough on the swallows down. It would have been complemented perfectly with an espresso. On a good note, the gender neutral bathroom was clean with two-toned tiled flooring and a corian sink. read more

I have been coming to this restaurant since I moved to Boca so about 12+ years or more. We went when the previous owner and the current owner. My family and I have always enjoyed their food. It's always seems home cooked and it gives that environment that it's made with love and they know what they are doing. The service is good, the waitresses are attentive even when they are super busy they do check in on you, the picture of the restaurant is the latest remodeled they did and it came out really nice. The food is great and if you have any concerns about your food the staff is always willing to help and if the manager is around he will sort it out for you plus u also get ice cream for dessert I truly recommend this place read more

This place never disappoints! We'd love to come for breakfast, lunch or dinner. You can find some really authentic Colombian dishes here for great prices. Came back after a long time and am so pleased to see that nothing has changed as to the excellent flavors of the food and the great service one gets over here! This tiny "Hole in the Wall" are the gems only the locals like yours truly know about! Sitting here is literally like sitting in a small restaurant in Columbia as the ambiance is authentic and cozy! We have NEVER had a bad meal ever in all the times we have eaten here! The portions are Huge and the prices are very reasonable, specially in tough times like these. We have tried their Margate location several times so we decided to come up to flag ship store in Boca. Flag ship is a stretch but it is the first one so I guess you could call it that. It is located in 441 at a shopping plaza that seems to be very busy, it was quite a mission just to park. The restaurant itself is very small he only has a few tables it is cramped, and you feel so pretty quickly. Service is always the same at every Colombian restaurant you visit, wishy-washy. These are not professional waiters or waitresses but people who just serve. There is no designated waitress we must've been helped by every single person working at the time. I did like the Botero replica paintings on the wall. Very Medellin. Having been there recently, brought back memories. We ordered the meat platter for four people with a side of rice and a salad. The food was just as good as the Margate location . The only reason I am giving them three star reviews is for the location and the comfort/service level. Delicious Colombian restaurant with large portions, and a wide variety of traditional dishes. We went for breakfast and ordered the calentado, tamal, and sancocho. The tamal reminded me of christmas morning . I wish we lived closer so we could continue bouncing around the menu! They were very busy on a Sunday with to go orders. Its a small colombian restaurant, with colombian country music, family styled. The service was friendly. They gave very decent portion. i liked the plate I ordered, it was the Bandeia Paisa. It was grilled chicken breast with rice and a big piece of ham and an egg on the side. It was tasty, I was really hungry but I could not finish the plate, it was such a generous portion, so filling. As a starter they gave a bean soup as well, which was ok. We payed about ten$ per person. For a cheap priced category restaurant its a good place to eat. read more

I came here for a quick bite on my way home (the Mrs has me on a Diet) and this place had been giving me the eye every time I drove past. It didn't disappoint, I can't tell you what I ordered, but it was steak, fried pork belly, fried egg... awesomeness! And then a little cup of wonderful ice cream. My only regret was that I didn't get to share this experience with others. It's not high end by any means, but it has a wonderful genuine South American feel to it. I change my rating because of multiple bad experiences over the course of a month. When I walked in I was greeted and help immediately (which haven't been the case in my past experience. It was nice change). I was told I would have to wait a few so they can fry more empanadas since there was only two in the window and I needed five. I didn't mind waiting. So I did.... I waited over 15min before the lady who helped me went and asked the cook. Luckily I understand Spanish because I heard the cook ask the waitress empanadas? And then proceed to tell her a few more while she puts them in. Four meals came out and two Uber delivery were packed before my empanadas adding another 20 minutes to my wait. When I got my food I ask another waitress (the one who handed me my food. She must be a manager) if I can have another hot sauce ( got 5 empanadas and only three sauce) and she pointed her finger out and said only one! I was thrown back with her response that I left without checking my food. When I got in the car and open my box of empanadas they were all burnt stuck together. I pulled them apart and they were so hard and burnt inside. Need to find another Colombian Resturant who makes these empanadas!!!!! read more

Hoy por segunda vez entre a probar algo más del menú, la primera vez no salí tan satisfecha pero me recomendaron tanto el sitio que decidí volver ya que estaba en el area. Para comenzar entre al baño a lavarme las manos y estaba muy sucio, se nota que la higiene en el lugar es pobre. Segundo el sancocho de cola estaba terrible se nota que tienen una base espesa para hacerlo pasar por sancocho no sabía a nada en específico si no a pura yuca que era lo único que tenía el plato de sopa y la mazorca. El seco estaba la cola que se nota que la cocinaron a parte súper dura por cierto en una base de pasta de tomate que es un sabor fuerte y no representa al hogao que nosotros conocemos. Lo único bueno fue el tostón sentí hoy que comía sobrados , me dio un mal pálpito nunca escribo algo negativo pero creo que de todos los sitios que e comido nunca había tenido tan mala experiencia comiendo algo. Por último la atención de la chica que me atendió fue pésima. When we ask them if they had our food ready after telling us it would be ready in ten minutes they had no idea who We were or of our order we made on the phone.
