Bandeja Paisa (Colombian dish with various meats served with rice and beans) was as great as the server who recommended it. I looked up Spanish restaurant specifically because I was craving some good Spanish food during my break. This spot was better than my expectations and will definitely return again. The server spoke little English but her genuineness was easy to see despite our language barriers and her positive attitude made me take her recommendations, even their 2 for 1 happy hour modelos. Tonight, I dined at the Colombian restaurant, El Atico Coffee and Restaurant in Boynton Beach and experienced some of the worst service imaginable. To let you know, I was looking forward to this meal but did not anticipate the rudeness of the waiting staff. In particular, I was astonished how rude one of the waitresses was. She is from Bolivia. Everyone has bad days and admittedly I arrived at the restaurant fifteen minutes before closing but really I was made to rush my meal and felt uncomfortable the whole time. A restaurant may have the best food in the world but if it is served by rude people, who wants to eat there? This Bolivian girl could not have been more rude to me. I thought it would have been a nice experience. After all I ordered the beef rib soup, and had the Bandeja El Atico, which is the typical Paisa dish of Colombia. It had an egg, and blood sausage and sausage and grilled flank steak with chicharron. Moreover, my Spanish is perfectly good but I felt unwelcome there. Granted, I guess the waitress wanted to leave but do not be a server if you are going to be rude to customers. There are plenty of other good Colombian restaurants in Palm Beach County and next time I will just choose another one. It just left a bad taste in my mouth, when I should have been praising the food instead. I do not recommend El Atico for the waiting staff and therefore, I will not be returning there again. read more

I was craving Colombian food and El Ático was nothing but pleasant. The place is small but cozy. The decorations are cute and the service is friendly. The empanadas were delicious, both beef and cheese. We also ordered the bandeja paisa, the plate is huge and I couldn't finish it but it was great for leftovers. It was also my first time trying Colombian beers and both were refreshing. We will def be back. 10/10. read more

We have eaten at El Atico many times. This is a small Columbian restaurant that serves food with big flavors supported by excellent servers. Carolina is the owner and is usually there - say hello. Tonight we had the chicken quessadilla that was enormous and delicious. We also had the Rib Bone Soup. It had a hearty broth and lots of meat. It came with a side of rice which we added to the soup. We finished off an excellent meal with a Cappuccino and Flan. What a wonderful way to immerse yourself in a meal of Columbian food. We'll be back again soon. If you have not been to El Atico yet - you are missing out on a very nice restaurant that is locally owned - and the owner is there working side by side with her staff. read more

This restaurant was featured on an Instagram influencer's post so I had to check it out! Growing up in Miami, I have a bit of expectations like good coffee and good food in general. I've visited this restaurant quite a few times so far and it's hit or miss with service timing. They get busy so be aware. I'm pretty sure this place is the most popular Colombian restaurant in the whole area. There's not many but this one is well decorated and has great food options. Empanadas are delicious, good picante sauce, fun options like cheese guava plantains, and every dish I have had is pretty good here. One thing I wish would be different is their coffee. If you're looking for good Colombian food this is the place, staff was incredibly friendly and food was amazing. The food did take a little while to come out, but grab a drink and enjoy the atmosphere while you wait, it's worth it. The portions are HUGE you could absolutely share a dish. Cute and small place. They have music playing which is nice. The food was 7/10. We got the plantains with the beef on them. It said it had creole sauce on them but they were super super dry. They gave us a green sauce which was delicious but it was only very little and not enough for the 4 big plantains. The portions are great for the price in my opinion. My entree was the pork tenderloin which was delicious. The service may be the worst I've had in awhile. They forgot my salad and said it would be out - never got it. When we brought it back up they said they would make it to go - nope never happened. Our reservation was at. 6:15 and we didn't leave until 7:45 that's how slow they were and never checked up on us to see if we needed anything. They really need to hire more people or get trained on good service. It was disappointing to say the least. read more

The food was extremely disappointing -- no seasoning at all, and the meat was dry and overcooked. You can't even clearly read the menu because the letters are too small or poorly printed. We were headed to another restaurant near the mall when we learned it was closed. Turning to our Yelp app, we saw that this restaurant was on the way. We called to see if they were open. They didn't answer the phone, but we decided to stop by and see as we were going to be driving past. We saw a few tables occupied outside so we parked. Inside is quite small and the tables are close together. A large party (of police officers) was seated at one of 2 tables pushed together. We chose a booth. Having had a similar dish and loved it in another Colombian restaurant, I ordered their Coctel de camarones and my husband their hot dog el atico. We got our drinks right away -- his passion fruit juice with water and my Diet Coke. Our food, however, took about a half hour to arrive. It was frustrating to see 3 other parties who'd come in after us order and receive their food before us. We did see them doing a lot of takeout orders, too (the bags lined up on the counter). My husband's hot dog was quite unusual. On top of the frankfurter in a bun was a pink sauce, a pineapple sauce, ketchup, chips, cheese, and bacon. On the very top were two tiny quail eggs (!) . My shrimp cocktail consisted of 5 medium sized limp shrimp in a glass filled with a slightly sweet mixture of chopped tomatoes and lots of onions. It looked much better in the picture I took of it. The best part was a surprise small wedge of ripe avocado. I would not get this dish here again. As I was still quite hungry, I then ordered a beef empanada to try. It came out piping hot. The hard shell was the yellow corn type. Inside the fried shell was a bit of shredded beef and mashed potatoes. It was fairly plain. On serving, the waitress suggested I add hot sauce. I'm not a very spicy loving person, so instead I added some chimichurri (the other of the 2 sauces we'd been given at the beginning of the meal). It definitely needed something to add a little pizzazz as it was pretty flat/unseasoned. For dessert, we had their flan. It was a very large firm rectangular piece. I've never had flan served over chocolate sauce. It was fine/okay, but I prefer the creamier version. As we were leaving, I saw a gentleman having a good looking order of steak. This might have been a better choice. I'm glad we came; Now we know. read more

The staff is super friendly and very helpful especially if you aren't sure what you want to eat. I had the Carne Asada and it was flavorful and the fries were right out of the fryer, perfectly salted and hot. My husband had the chuleta valluna. The pork had an amazingly thin breading and it was fried perfectly. It was moist and the red beans were dynamic. We also splurged and had the shrimp cups (canasticos atico). El ático is a staple Colombian restaurant in boynton beach. I've had lots of items from there (cazuela montañera, bandeja paisa, empanadas, fruit juices, etc) and they have all been great. Most recently I visited on a Saturday afternoon. The place wasn't too too busy, we were seated quickly, food came out 15 minutes later, and as always it was delicious! The staff is very friendly here and food is consistently good. I am also very impressed with their empanadas, it can be hard to find a good empanada and these are top notch every visit. I will definitely be a regular :) read more
