Wow ! Amazing spot ! This is a hidden gem located in Deerfield. My partner was waiting in line over at the tag agency so I decided to grab us some food while we wait and I was greeted by the owners a very sweet couple who used to have their very own cow farm back in Venezuela ! They cooked up some fresh empanadas for us and while I waited we chatted and they even let me try out their braided cheese that's made daily ! It was delicious! 10/10 the empanadas were amazing! Mary one of the owners was super nice !

As a venezuelan, loved the vine of the place and all the little trinkets they had which reminded me of home. We went with a group of four and got the mandocas and venezuelan sampler platter. It was the perfect amount of food. The owners came by and talked to us which made us feel heard and cared by. Definitely will recommend this place to any latin food lover

The restaurant has a really vibe-y atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor (under the plaza awning) seating. The waitress served us from outside which was a pleasant surprise, as I thought we'd have to order inside before transiting back out. My partner's arepa looked phenomenal, and my breakfast was also really good. Wasn't a fan of the plantain donut ring things but I love trying new things so it was still a great choice.

My mom is from Venezuela so I grew up with arepas, tequenos and all of that good food. This place is delicious and authentic. I've been here twice so far and have loved the food each time. It's a small business and the owners are awesome. Very friendly folks. I ordered: Tequenos - Some of the best tequenos I've had in a while. (they are kind of like cheese sticks but doughier and more delicious). They came with a garlic cilantro dipping sauce. Arepa pabellon - So GOOD. This arepa has all of the ingredients of the national dish of Venezuela; Shredded beef, black beans, fried sweet plantains and an obscene abundance of grated cheese. Very messy but worth every bite. 10/10. The only downside is the food comes out SCORCHING HOT. I had to let my food cool down for about 10 minutes before I took a bite. No big deal to me, better hot than cold. Would be perfect if the food were not as hot though. They also sell traditional Venezuelan snacks like torontos and cocosettes. These can be difficult to find at most supermarkets so it's nice to see them in stock here. They also have freshly made traditional Venezuelan cheeses. I got a block of palmizulia and it tastes extremely authentic! It's an awesome place overall. I look forward to exploring more of their menu.. I'll try their reina pepiada and cachapas next. Can't wait!

We really enjoyed breakfast here! Outdoor seating was very nice. Our server was great and who I think was the owner came to ask how we enjoyed everything as well.

Excellent Venezuelan food we had for breakfast. The place is really cozy and the food was amazing with less of options

3.5 stars. The restaurant has potential, but the food is pretty bland. I got the Arepa with Shredded Chicken -- it lacked flavor until I doused it in hot sauce. Some of the chicken was blue, which was questionable. The arepa itself was good, but I have had better. If I am in the area again, I will go back and try something else.

The food was wonderful. We order a Reina pepiada, una empanada de pabellón, y arepa de carne mechada. All 3 were delicious. My favorite was the empanada. It exterior was crunchy yet soft. It was the perfect combination of fresh, sweet, crunch, and deliciousness. It taste like a piece of heaven. I also order their coconut lemonade. That alone was to die for. Staff attention was on point. Friendly, funny, charismatic and fast. I don't usually leave glorious reviews but this one deserve it.

Highly recommend coming here to watch your favorite team play. The beef empanadas were cooked to perfection and overstuffed, we likely could've just split one. The Picanha dinner was cooked fresh and came with so many sides, we took them a large portion for leftovers. The aji picante really stood out, we asked for more to take home. The Arepa Llanera de Picanha was also perfectly cooked & enjoyed very much. They ran out of the standard avocado that comes in it, but instead brought a side of guacamole for me to add. I really like that they did that without me having to ask. We'll definitely be back soon, to watch another match!

The wait staff amazing, they were doing the absolute best they could with the resources they had. But the manager and owner of the restaurant need to be replaced. They had zero organizational skills and zero communication. Would never go back or recommend just for that.

I asked for an itemized receipt, and sure enough, some items had been rung up differently. The person at the counter explained that they recently started using Uber Eats, and the upcharged prices were only meant to be for people ordering from Uber--not in the restaurant. He had to call his manager to fix it, so I waited while they sorted it out. I appreciated that they did correct the issue, but it was a bit confusing. But this part of the experience did feel misleading to customers in general. After paying, the cashier went to the back and didn't return for a while. We weren't offered water or drinks while we waited for the food, and when I tried to get someone's attention from the front desk, no one came. Eventually, someone from the kitchen kindly helped us out--huge thanks to her! The food itself was fantastic, and I'd absolutely come back in hopes that it was just an off day. The space inside felt a little quiet and low-energy, and the young man at the counter didn't seem super enthusiastic--but everyone has those days. All in all, great food with room to grow on the service side. I'll definitely give it another try.

The chef said yes, made them from scratch, and wouldn't take a dime. What arrived was outstanding. House BBQ brisket, stripped perfectly for a nacho chip, which almost *nobody gets right*. Fresh queso that actually delivered. Avocado crema drizzled throughout. Cotija crumbled on top. Bell peppers adding color and brightness, and the chips held under the Fork Rule. This was a prototype. Eight chips. Not hot. Stale chips cost them points. The metal tin showed up uninvited as always, and it still scored an 8.5. Two things stand between Los Bocados and the highest nacho score in this series: fresh chips and the right vessel. Everything else is already there. If you want these nachos -- and you do -- walk up and ask nicely. The chef may just make them for you. Bohio Latin Flavors, Margate…read more Dominican and Puerto Rican cuisine with a heavy emphasis on mofongo, and based on this visit, that's one of the reasons to come here. They offer numerous variations, with your choice of sauce and protein, making this one of the more mofongo-focused restaurants I've seen in Broward. We started with the shrimp mofongo. The plantain mound itself was moist, flavorful, and nicely seasoned, avoiding the dry, dense texture that plagues lesser versions. Ours came topped with a rich shrimp sauce, but other options included a garlic cream sauce and a Creole-style sauce, both of which looked excellent as they passed through the dining room. Of the dishes we tried, the mofongo was actually my favorite. The masitas de cerdo (fried pork chunks) were flavorful and well-seasoned, although they came out a bit drier than I would have preferred. I'd still order them again, but based on what I saw arriving at nearby tables, the pernil may be the move on a future visit. The rice deserves mention as well. The arroz con gandules was excellent, with plenty of flavor rather than simply serving as a side dish. They also offered moro rice in both red bean and black bean versions, which was nice to see. The Punta Cana cocktail was worth ordering. Sweet, tropical, and considerably stronger than it looked. The dining room is much larger than it appears from outside, but this is very much a casual neighborhood spot. It reminded me of the kind of local restaurant you'd find in Puerto Rico or the Dominican Republic: a large dining room, full bar, TVs on the wall, families gathering for dinner, and the emphasis squarely on the food rather than creating an upscale experience. There's also a stage and DJ setup for live entertainment. One note: service was slow on our Sunday evening visit. After speaking with the manager, I learned she was also the restaurant's only server and that a single cook was handling the kitchen while also keeping up with a steady stream of takeout orders. Given those realities, the pace made more sense. Everyone was friendly, but this isn't the place to visit if you're in a hurry. Both English and Spanish menus are available, although the primary server was clearly more comfortable interacting in Spanish. They also feature Latin music and a DJ on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, which is probably when the room really comes alive. If you're a fan of mofongo, pernil, arroz con gandules, or Dominican comfort food in general, Bohio is worth adding to your list.
