When you first walk in. You can't help to be hypnotized by the scent of sweets in the air. The restaurant has a nice display of cookies and bread. It was the first thing I saw when I walked in. It was a nice sight for me lol. This was a nice location. I found the restaurant clean and nice. It's the type of restaurant where you order and pay at the desk, get a table, wait for your order, and pick it up. I got the soup and sandwich. I picked grilled cheese and tomato soup. Be aware they charge you for tap water. Over $4 for a cup of water with ice, and we ordered two full meals. Check your receipt's. It is not enough that they sell over priced food plus they don't include drinks in their meals. We ask for a cup of water with ice and they charged us $4.06. I was left with very limited options and a very short time crunch for lunch today so I ended up coming here. I ordered the chipotle chicken flat bread pizza. It was a fair price, about 9 bucks. I gotta say, I wasn't completely disappointed. It was a very decent size and pretty filling. Tasted pretty good. The only draw back is I was dying of thirst for the next three hours, guess thats where the saltiness kicks in. After this experience, I wouldn't be completely opposed to returning here. My first and last experience at this Panera Bread location was horrible. The restaurant was not clean, the food was cold and the worst part was the staff. This location seems to have a bunch of unenthusiastic kids with no sense of urgency and no interest in customer service. I visit this location on my way to work. This morning was extremely disappointing from start to finish. The girl taking orders in the drive through acted as if I were bothering her when she told me she was out of the brioche bun the breakfast sandwich comes on and I asked what else they had. Then I ordered ice coffee with almond milk and when she went to hand it to me it was black so I asked again for the almond milk. She gasped for air shut the window and went to correct. This Panera Bread is a mixed bag. Service depends on who helps you. The manager really cares about her job and restaurant. I have seen her personally clean down a table when a customer accidently spilled coffee all over. She is a real get it done kind of professional. Food quality is perfectly fine. I think all Panera Bread chains are a bit overpriced. Only part of the dining room is air conditioned or vents are heavily shut in the main portion of the dining room to the left as you enter the restaurant. I don't care for that, but I guess I can just sit towards the front of the restaurant. I have never been a huge fan of Panera Bread, but it is fine. My best advice is just to get drive-thru and only go every once and awhile due to the higher price points. It was a cold raining Saturday, and while I usually like a drink with my dinner we decided a good soup bowl sounded better and headed toward Panera. Now I know why the place was virtually empty at 6:00 on a Saturday night. When ordering we were told all of the bowls (quiono, lentil...) were sold out. And so was all the pasta. Seems weird the best dinner options were sold out at dinner time. So I ordered the turkey chili bread bowl. The chili was good, but there sure was a lot more bread than chili. Very underwhelming overall. And while the place was almost empty, there were at least 6 tables the still were unbussed. It looked like we missed the party, and all the good food was gone. THIS IS NOT YOUR TYPICAL PANERA BREAD REVIEW... I've been to this location a few times since it's close to my office. On this occasion, I got the pick 2 with broccoli cheddar soup and a chicken panini. My bf got the chicken noodle and Italian sandwich. Their pastries beckon to you beyond the glass near the cash registers but we resisted especially since the calorie count is labeled on each one. No thanks! Our pick 2 orders also came with a delicious piece of warm french bread. I always wonder why they give you extra bread if you have a sandwich but it's too good not to have! I noticed a homeless woman having coffee on this occasion. She had her own rolls she brought in from Aldi next door. I bought her one of the cinnamon rolls because it was the biggest pastrie they had. Turns out she was Italian from Italy like my grandparents. Like many others she lived in NY but migrated South. While Panera Bread as a group has drastically improved but in its food service and general offering, this store obviously didn't get the memo. AVOID unless you want sub-par food, service, and overall a very bad experience. For a FLL restaurant charging New York prices and giving such a bad experience is very frustrating. Finally open!:) This new Panera is in a cute plaza in Deerfield Beach, Right next to Chipotle and across from Aldi. First Panera i have seen with a Drive Thru! Thats kinda awesome! Its even moving quickly in lunch time and seem to be very efficient. I Love the Thai Chicken Salad, The Greek Salad, and my fav the Broccoli Cheddar.
