They have a small menu of soups, salads, sandwiches, and homey classics; but the flavor is anything but small. The staff is super nice, welcoming, helpful, and efficient. We ordered the tuna salad sandwich with a garden salad which was refreshing and delicious, the lentil soup which was a hearty but with great balance, the chicken curry sandwich which was creamy although slightly on the sweeter side, and the meatloaf sandwich which melted in your mouth and was super flavorful. We also had the mint lemonade and raspberry iced tea which were a yummy refreshing glass of joy in a hot summer afternoon. But most importantly we had the BEST chocolate cake I have had in over 10 years! If for nothing else, you HAVE TO try the cakes at the Tin Muffin Cafe. I will be coming back for sure! Always a pleasant experience. Lovely, friendly staff. The food is fresh and homemade. Everything is delicious. Save room for one of the in house made desserts (especially the chocolate cake). Be sure to take a trip to the "big" bathroom to see the seasonal decor. The little bathroom is worth a peak too. Bring cash. No credits cards are accepted here. Indoor and outdoor seating. Each table outside is like it's own oasis. The only downside of eating outside is that because the restaurant is not that large there is usually a wait for a table and people tend to "hover" while they are waiting to be seated. Stopped here for a late lunch before going to Mizner Park for a bit of shopping. The place is very quaint. While they were busy with many waiting for a table, it was well worth it in a sunny and breezy day. They had some amazing specials and everything was delicious. I opted for the chicken salad salad which came with a pumpkin muffin. The pepper vinaigrette was amazing. Other items ordered were post pie with salad and chicken pecan quiche with salad and a turkey sandwich with pea soup. Everyone really enjoyed their choices. The quiche was a decent size and the side salads were nice and fresh ! We shared a slice of banana cake and it was really good the cake was moist and the frosting was creamy and the right amount of sweetness. Our server Jennifer was awesome. If you read no further, know CASH ONLY! I have passed by many times and my friend Holly highly recommended The Tin Muffin to me, so I decided to stop by for a quick lunch after a movie in the area. They have very limited parking but on a weekday there was plenty of street parking and unlike Miami, it is all free. If you are looking for quaint and cozy, they have both in spades. The cafe is co-owned by Phillip Thomas and Brent Bartkow who were inspired to open the Tin Muffin from their families cooking. You can find it next to a jewelery shop on Palmetto Park Road, east of Downtown Boca Raton. Their motto is "Happiness is Homemade". Tin Muffin offers both outside and indoor seating. The menu is filled with the kind of food that ladies who lunch like, tea, lemonade, quiche, salads, pot pies, and sandwiches in an Americana decorating scheme. They have their regular menu plus a board of specials that had things on it like lobster rolls and chicken sandwiches. I started with the mint raspberry lemonade. It looked like a Florida sunset in a glass and was refreshing on this hot Florida day. For lunch I ordered the pot pie and salad special which came very quickly. A small steaming pot pie filled with creamy chicken and vegetables was accompanied by a lovely fresh salad with a delightful home made honey mustard dressing. The Tin Muffin Cafe seems to be very popular for their chicken salad. I saw several people come in to get it for takeout. You could take some to the beach a short drive away and have a wonderful beach picnic. I saw a chicken salad platter with their signature muffin delivered to another table and it looked so good I would order it next time. One thing I especially liked here is that they take a lot of care with presenting the food, with details like fresh fruit garnishes and arranging the food attractively to make everything look its most appealing. Everything was picture perfect and deliciously home made. I ended up taking a slice of their epic chocolate cake home with me. It was a dense fudgy delight. The service could not have been better. They were extremely attentive and everything was delivered quickly. They even made sure I had a refill of lemonade to take on the road with me which was very much appreciated when I had to get in my 100 plus degree car. Note, they will also take checks but I haven't written a check in years, probably around the same time I last used a payphone. Another delicious lunch! I absolutely adore this cafe and looked forward to returning. I got the shrimp salad sandwich again as well as a bowl of tomato soup and finished every last bite. So good!!! I can't believe I have never written a review of the Tin Muffin, so let me just say I have never had anything at the Tin Muffin that was not wonderfully prepared and tasty. In addition to the amazing food and desserts the staff is terrific and friendly. Phil and Brent who are the co-owners take pride in everything they do including the seasonal decoration of the women's bathroom (a must look and see when in the restaurant). My first time trying The Tin Muffin Cafe and it did not disappoint and this restaurant has the nicest, friendliest and most embracing staff which really makes the quaint cafe a good choice for lunch. A sandwich we tried was fine but was served on what seemed like a very basic commercial bun. The fruit garnish accompanying the sandwich was really excellent and usually I don't eat much of the fruit (and view it as a plate filler) but here it was fresh and I don't know if it was just being in season luck but it was great. The Chicken Pot Pie may have been the best I ever had and I would go back just for that. We tried two of their recommended made in house cakes and I thought they were both a little too sweet (and yes I know this is subjective) but it almost overwhelmed the other ingredients. However the texture on both cakes was very good and the cream and fruit fillings were addictive. The restaurant is a little snug and when we were there it was full so it can feel a little tight. Lovely spot for lunch in East Boca. My friend and I had a nice table outside under the awning. There are hanging and potted plants that make it very pretty. Service is friendly and attentive. We got our drinks right away and placed our order. They have daily specials that include quiche and soup. My friend said she always has the quiche which comes with a side salad. It looked great and was a large portion. I had the salad with shrimp salad and curried chiclen salad.l which was around $15. The salad was mixed greens with carrots, tomatoes, zucchini. The shrimp salad had large shrimp with artichokes and mayo. The curried chicken salad was delicious with big pieces of white meat. It comes with a muffin, too. Love their muffins.
