For a few more dollars, French fries and soda can be added to make it a meal. My typical go-to is the shawarma sandwich wrapped in a warm pita. It's a nice portion but the sandwich alone may not be enough for bigger eaters. It's reasonably priced for lunch. Plenty of indoor seating to escape the Florida heat. There's also outdoor seating on the side of the restaurant. The restaurant is located right by the train station on Yamato Road - it would be convenient to order and take away for a train ride meal. I stopped into Shish Grill in Boca Raton for dinner with someone very special, and it turned out to be one of those nights you don't forget. I've driven by this place a hundred times, so my curiosity finally won. When we walked in, the dining room was almost empty, which surprised us since it was prime dinner time, but honestly it made the whole experience feel like our own private feast. The outdoor seating was a nice present from Mother Nature. The lighting was low, romantic, and inviting. The other patrons seem to be enjoying themselves immensely almost like they were celebrating something special of their own. Our server, Teagen, deserves his own shoutout. He was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. He even told the manager it was my birthday, which led to a complimentary mint tea and a tray of pastries that felt like a little celebration all on its own. I've eaten Mediterranean food all over the world in my previous career, so hummus is a non negotiable for me. Theirs was smooth and flavorful. The signature mixed grill was the real star. Tons of variety, generous portions, and incredible value. Our entire meal came to about fifty dollars before tip, which felt like a steal. It was a magical end to an already spectacular day. Shish Grill is vastly underrated on Yelp. It's a five star establishment. I've traveled extensively in the Middle East and it's one of the best and most authentic restaurants of it's type in the USA. Three of us had lunch today. Baba ganoush and pita were excellent. Falafel was one of the best I've had. Beef shawarma was excellent with fragrant spices. Dolmas and hummus fresh and really tasty. They even had a malt pomegranate soda I didn't think was imported into the US. It's a scratch kitchen, they make neatly everything in house and everything is gresh. Sadly, we didn't have room for desert, which looked very good. The staff were all from the Mid+East, our server from Damascus, Syria. This brought me back to the Syria I visited in 2008 which is sadly gone now. The music and ambiance reminded me of a cafe I visited in Damascus. Well worth your time. read more

We had a good lunch here. They have options for build your own bowls and platters for lunch. Plus, they have their full dinner menu as well from which to choose. The location was familiar once we were there. The yelp directions had us go a convoluted way to get there winding our way through the back of the shopping center -- which it turns out actually faces Yamato Road. It seems we've been to this location before, but it was a different restaurant with a different menu. On entering, you pass a case with middle eastern pastries. They had my husband's favorite, kunefe, so we already knew what he was ordering for dessert. My husband had one of their bowls. It included a choice of base (he chose the rice with lentils), one protein (he chose the beef-lamb kafta kabob) and two sides (he had tabouli salad and babaghanoush). He said he really liked his lunch. I had one of their platters. It included a choice of base (I opted for lettuce; I could also have had half lettuce/half rice among others); two proteins (the kafta kabob and the chicken kabob); and two sides (grape leaves and hummus). Of the proteins, I liked the grilled chicken pieces better. The hummus was nice and creamy and a large portion with a few whole chickpeas on top. The two grape leaves were served warm, tightly rolled, and well-seasoned inside -- not just plain rice. I wound up taking a portion of my lunch home. After the entrees, we both had a taste of the kunefe. Bright orange shredded filo dough topped a chewy cheese middle that was served slightly warm. And we took most home for a midnight snack. We both said we'd be back. So many possible combos to mix and match for lunch. The prices were quite reasonable, and service was good, too. My husband and I met friends here for dinner. It was our first time visiting. The decor is delightful. I loved all the colorful lighting. The music was enjoyable and not too loud. Our server was not very personable and not he most attentive, but we did enjoy the food. We ordered a number of appetizers. We started with crunchy Fatet Hummus. This had a unique flavor, and we enjoyed it. We also ordered traditional Hummus, which I really liked. Our friends loved the Baba Ghanouge. I ordered the stuffed grape leaves, which were a little tough. I think I was used to Greek stuffed grape leaves, but they were good. I also liked the Kibbeh. It was fried in a crispy shell of cracked wheat, and the spices complemented the ground meat. For the main course, my husband ordered the lamb chops with fries and salad. He said the lamb chops were tender, cooked nicely and seasoned well. Our friend ordered the kebab skewers with rice and salad and said they were very good. My husband ordered the Turkish coffee. Sheesh grill is a pretty good spot. I've only been for lunch as it's very close to my job. But the food is always decent. I wouldn't say it's the most excellent Middle Eastern food I've ever had, but it hits the spot if you're craving some baba ghanoush. They have a lunch special where you can make your own bowl choosing different bases, proteins, and sauces which is very good. My friend loves the spanakopita, which to me is typical, but the baba ghanoush is really good there, the lentil soup just OK. Some of the bakery items are delicious. As soon as it came out, I knew something was different. Then I realized they used to give you three pieces and now they only give you two. The dishes is more money now too and it was overcooked Ordered a soda gave it to me in the can with no ice. Napkins on the table are the cheapest napkins that you could ever use in a restaurant. Now here's the thing that I really did not like. When checking out I noticed that they are charging more money on your tab to use a credit card then cash.
