Omg this place blew me away! I am still thinking about it weeks later. I had the chicken platter and the moment my cousin and I bit into the chicken we looked at each other and went "WOW" the chicken is phenomenal so juicy yet still has the yummy grill texture and flavor. The rice was also amazing! My only complaint is the hummus could have more salt or seasoning, it's very simple, but that's just my personal preference. What a great find! We came here for lunch before heading to the airport and the food was phenomenal! For an appetizer we ordered the hummus with pita bread and it's definitely made in house. The flavor was so amazing and the pitas were super fresh. I tried a different dish for my entree. I can't remember the name but man were they good! They were small stuffed dumplings (what the texture reminded me of) topped with a tomato sauce and feta. It was sooo good I wish I knew of place in Indianapolis who served the same dish. Recently, I've been on a mission to find good shawarma. It's really a tough challenge in the best of times, but in south Florida during Covid-19, I expected it to be impossible. I was looking thru Google Maps one day and noticed a photo from Mediterranean Kebab House with a giant, delicious looking shawarma spinning in a upright grill. They also had many photos of kebabs that looked sensational. It all appeared to be really good, so I cross checked the reviews in Yelp to make sure it was well rated and remembered that we ate there a year ago and gave it five stars. I then got pretty excited to go back! When we arrived at around 1230pm, the place was empty, but a few other tables filled up as we sat there. There was an excellent amount of seating out back, presented in an aesthetically pleasing manner. It almost felt like we were in Turkey or the Middle East and not in a back alley in Florida. Good job there. We ordered 3 Adana lamb kebabs, a spicy beyti kebab and a shawarma. We also got the falafel appetizer. It's clear that the food is prepared with quality ingredients and the flavor profile was excellent. Whomever cooked these dishes was obviously an expert. What's confounding is that everything we were served was clearly not made fresh to order. It was all reheated. All of the kebabs were dried out and not at all juicy. The shawarma was barely warm. All of the fries were under cooked, cool to the touch and under salted. Finally, the purportedly spicy beyti kebab was not spicy at all, the meat was dense from over warming I think, and in our opinion, it was the worst dish of the bunch. The falafel was in fact pretty good, but we didn't feel like it was fresh out of the fryer. As I said, the quality and flavor is there for nearly everything, so it's a real tragedy that nothing was made fresh. I understand that there's a pandemic and traffic is down, but if you're open and offering these dishes, it should be served right. Kebabs should be hot and juicy served off the grill. Serving reheated kebabs and shawarma with lukewarm at best fries on the side just isn't the way to go. Not acceptable whatsoever. read more

I went there with my girlfriend for dinner. We were enjoying ourselves and was told by the owner that we couldn't kiss and hug because the Muslim families that were there found it offensive. In fact, we were yelled at with profanity when we asked why they were offended by us kissing. Then we were threatened and had to leave the restaurant. Came here as I hadn't had Turkish food in a very long time and enjoyed it. I got the iskender and my girlfriend got the chicken kebab. Very delighted with the presentation and taste. The atmosphere was very nice. We went on a week day during the day. Wasn't crowded and service was pretty fast compared to other Turkish / Mediterranean restaurants I've been to. They have 2 outdoor seating sections. One near the sidewalk and the other in in the back which is covered so you have protection from the sun. Overall was a 10/10 experience. The only down side was that the kazandibi is very popular and always sold out. I've been searching for a good Mediterranean restaurant for a while now and finally found a great spot! When we walked in we were greeted and sat down right away. Our server was very friendly and made good recommendations on the menu. He even took his time to explain the different types of baklava they had which we appreciated so much! I had the falafel sandwich in a pita. The grape leaves as an appetizer and my parents had a different version of the gyro. Everything was cooked with fresh ingredients! The grape leaves were the best I've ever had. The only problem we had was my dads gyro sandwich was cold. Almost as if they had warmed it up. But it was still good he was happy. Shout out to Sam M. and Rabia J. for introducing us to the Mediterranean Kebob House. While in our hood of East Boca on the east side of Federal Highway a few blocks south of Palmetto Park Road, we had passed it for a few months and didn't stop to check it out until recommended by Sam and we met for lunch. Our loss over the last 4 months and we are making up for it! Turkish owned, the chefs and waitresses appear to be family or close friends. Indeed, one waitress is the wife of one of the chefs. It's an informal atmosphere, pleasantly lit with huge windows which face Federal Highway, letting in much light. There's a small sitting area with 4 tables on the sidewalk, but frankly, who would want to eat there while the cars whizz by on Federal? Not me. There's a small patio area by the rear entrance with a few tables and chairs, although I've never seen anyone sitting and eating there. I'd suggest to management that they clean the area up, put some plants or shrubs there, and make sure staff don't go out there for smoke breaks if they have any intent of using it as a dining patio. If they don't, just get rid of those tables. They have wines by the glass and bottle and some domestic and imported beers as well as soft drinks and bottled water from Turkey, as well as coffees and teas. Desserts include baklava (delicious and raises your glucose 100 points), and rice pudding and kunefe. Check them out before they become so popular you have to wait for a table. No reservations. Parking is a challenge and you'll need to drive around the side streets to find a spot. We've had the chicken gyro kebab platter, chicken kebob platter, adama (lamb) kebob platter and falafel platter. Most platters come with hummus, babaganush and shepherd salad. You can get rice, bulgur or French fries with the platters considered entrees. We've only tried the bulgur (thanks to Rabia) and it is incredible. Get it. You'll love it. I'd rate all the platters a 5+ for their main ingredients and sides. I'd downrate the falafel platter. I think it's pricey for the number and size of the falafel and while they are tasty, depending on the chef, they can be too dry, and I wonder if they are homemade or bought elsewhere and cooked there? The shepherd salad is incredible, with its chunks of tomato green peppers cucumbers and onions in a light, olive oil and lemon based dressing with a few olives. Get it as a side dish to share. All meals start with a side of fresh warm pita bread served with butter, and you can ask for a small side of tzatziki. The tzatziki is one of the best I've had outside of Istanbul. I'd suggest management skip serving those small containers of butter with the pita. Who in their right mind would butter pita bread? Really? I love that they serve their food with real linen napkins, worth 10 stars to me. I can't stand restaurants which use those thin cheap tacky paper napkins that are thinner than most toilet papers. Come on now, if you don't want to incur the expense of real linens and their laundering, get a decent weight paper napkin. Props to the owners for their upscale linen napkins! The waitresses are attentive and efficient and will engage patrons in conversation, sometimes a bit too much when it distracts them from serving other patrons. So, even though I've expressed a concern about the falafel and the sometimes distracted, although sweet waitress, there are far more positive aspects than negative to this family owned and staffed restaurant and thus, 5 stars. read more

At this restaurant, Sam M and I enjoyed our lunch with our dear friends Marc and Denis. Our lunch consisted of excellent conversation/dialogue, good eats and service. I don't know why but I always like to try chicken platters at Mediterranean restaurants. The chicken dish I ordered didn't disappoint, it was nicely cooked and accompanied with bulgar. Bulgar, a type of whole grain which is similar in texture like a lentil was a yummy option. With entrees you can pick your side to be bulgar, rice pilaf or French fries. Sam M picked adhana kabob, which looked delicious but he ate so fast that I didn't get a chance to try it... Oh well, there is always next time. My wife staying a hotel for a seminar, and had walked past this place the night before. She saw it wasn't very busy and decided to go somewhere else. The next night I drove up to meet her for dinner. I found this place while searching for places to eat. What a great choice this ended up being. We started with toasted pita bread served with butter, it was very good together. Next we got a small salad, it was chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, peppers and feta cheese on the side. It cant rember what the dressing was, but it was very delicious. We also got a bowl of lentil soup. It was golden lentils, pureed. It was so good. For dinner my wife got a falafel plater, shet got it a shepherds salad and hummus. Let just say, I've never seen here eat all the falafel, until now. I got the mixed grill platter. It was chicken, very good, a lamb chopalso very good, some kind of ground lamb burger/ steak, and the best part of all was the home made gyro meat. We didn't get a chance to take photos of the food, but everything was delicious, very nice big portions, perfectly cooked, and very well priced. We had the shepherd salad, kibbe, falafel, fried liver cubes, and we got the mixed shish and mixed specialty shish. All the meets were perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. There are a slew of bad restaurants across South Florida. This one is the worst I have experienced. It was so bad it angered me. My wife and I ordered their signature dish, kabob. The meat had no flavor at all and was so tough we could barely cut it. The grain dish that came with it also lacked any flavor. Don't these people ever try to eat the food they serve? We discovered this gem of a place recently and I can't tell you how happy I am that we have a good middle eastern restaurant in Boca. Usually to enjoy good middle eastern cuisine we have to venture out to Sunrise but this place changes that. Mediterranean Kebob House is located on US1 in Boca south of Mizner. Parking is a little bit of an issue in East Boca and I think the city officials need to do something about that. But with that said waiting to get parking is worth it once you get to the restaurant and enjoy the delicious entrees prepared by the Chef. I would recommend getting the burger rice with the entrees as it is very delicious. We tried the chicken Kebob and Adana Kebob entrees and our friends Marc and Dennis had the falafel platter and all the food was great.
