The task....find a place for a quick meal on the way from Boca to the Fort Lauderdale airport with my cousins. The challenge...our flight leaves in under two hours...and we are still in Boca. First restaurant, three minutes away. Perfect, right?? Oops, closed on New Year's Day. Back to Yelp for recommendations. Mykonos Grill. Eight minutes away. Great reviews. Called and ordered. On the way. Airline math. The flight leaves at 5:45. It is 3:25. The airport is 35 minutes away. We have plenty of time to get through TSA and get to the gate. Okay??? Got to Mykonos Grill. They were working on our order. I added a gyro with extra tzatziki sauce. Perfect to eat at the airport. Got our food at 3:37. What, we are eating in?? My cousins enjoyed their chicken souvlaki with salad and rice at the restaurant. I took my To Go order, To Go. To eat at the airport. Left for the airport at 3:51. Thank goodness for TSA pre-check. Through security at 4:49. Ate 1/2 of my gyro at the gate at 4:55. It was delicious! Boarding at 5:15. See we had plenty of extra time, my cousin said. I don't know why you were worried. Absolutely awful beef gyro sandwich. Dry meat that was obviously pan fried before serving, it was tough and chewy, edges were so crisp they crackled. Gyro meat is supposed to be tender and delicious, not tough, chewy and hard at the edges. Very disappointed . The service was fine, the place didn't feel clean. Parking was easy. The chicken gyro was just as bad as the beef gyro. Flavorless and chewy. The white sauce was thick tzatziki, lumpy and chalky. Everything was over salted, we drank a gallon of water afterwards, still couldn't get the taste out of our mouths. Glad we found this little Greek spot nearby with a few tables inside and high tops outside on the street. It is a fast food Greek restaurant which is great for a fast dinner or take out meal. It was clean and bright inside with some Greek ambiance. We noticed the two Gyro meat rotating rolls when we arrived and the counter piled high with Pita bread and Baklava. It was not a very big menu but had enough choices to satisfy our craving. Also full dinners. We ordered 1 chicken Souvlaki pita and 1 chicken gyro pita from a helpful cashier behind the counter. We also ordered a Greek Salad, one of two different ones on the menu. The cook making the pitas was also behind the counter and slicing the meats. We sat at a table inside and the food came out quickly. We watched a lot of people come in and ordering take out. The salad was ok but the pitas were very good! I was especially happy they covered the pitas with Tzatziki which was so good!! Many places don't give you enough. Parking was in a strip shopping center and prices were reasonable for Boca. I tried the baklava and it was pretty good...better than most I've had. I thought it was a little pricy at $7.99 but we will be back for sure!! A great new find for us. read more

Received a menu in the mail along with a fe'.1 coupons. Thought it would be a good way to try out the food. Food is tasty and very fresh. Big fan of Greek Gyro and Souvlaki's and Tzatziki sauce thought the flavors were delicious and very authentic. Hannah took our on line order - everything went very smoothly. My only suggestion would be - to may-be lable the boxes- we order one pork, one chicken and two lamb pitas once cover with the Tzatziki sauce we had no way of knowing til we bit into each one - Just saying - Must say for what we ordered and what and was charged was a deal ! I'm so glad I found this place driving by and on social media. Newly opened Mykonos grill is a welcome addition to the area. They use quality ingredients and try hard to please their customers. We had an okay lunch here. It was not at all what we expected based on their reviews. The "restaurant" is tiny. Inside there are 4 high top tables and outside a couple more. When we pulled up in our car to park right outside, everyone (the staff?) was sitting at a table chatting. There wasn't anyone inside. Later on, a couple folks came in to eat. We were told to order at the cashier. I asked for moussaka and the gal said she had to check if they had any. It was a little bit difficult ordering, but we figured out that she was new. She couldn't pronounce some of the dishes and didn't know what was in some of them. I'm sure she'll learn fast if she stays. They did have the moussaka. And my husband ordered a gyros platter entree. The food took a while. We both ordered small house salads. The dressing was oil with a touch of balsamic. The salad was fine. It had iceberg lettuce with a few carrot pieces and red cabbage and bits of feta on it. Later on, she brought my moussaka to the table. It tasted like it came out of the fridge (freezer?) and was reheated with a bit of char on the edges. It was just okay. I ate a few bites there. Took it home (and threw it out). My husband's gyro platter had a lot of meat on it. He'd gotten their lemon potatoes with it. It was three large lemony wedges. He liked the potatoes. The meat was a bit dry and bland, so he asked for some sauce, and she brought him a small container of tzatziki. That helped. And there were half a dozen pita triangle pieces on his plate, as well. Both main dishes were served on top of a piece of paper lining a metal tray. When I cut into the moussaka, I got paper in each bite which I had to peel off the bottom. I'm glad we came to try them.
