For dinner, we ordered 1x small bowl with spicy chicken, yellow rice, kale, red pepper hummus, mushrooms, cucumber & tomato salad, taboli salad, pickled cabbage, red onions, olives, feta, and the spicy tahini sauce and 1x pita wrap with medi chicken, taziki, cucumber & tomato salad, lettuce, pickled cabbage, olives, garbanzo beans, mushrooms and red pepper hummus. Moving on with my review, everything was very tasty! The spicy chicken bowl had great contrast of sweet, tangy, spicy, salty flavors, and ingredients all tasted very fresh too! The medi chicken pita also had a great combination of flavors and all the condiments/ingredients tasted freshly prepared! I left feeling disappointed. Seeing all the stellar reviews makes me ponder why it was a miss for us. Orion was clean and the service was friendly. However, something was just off. I ordered the shrimp (for an upcharge), and I could only eat one. They did not taste fresh at all. Also, the falafel was very dry and hard. Other than those two proteins, the rest of the bowl was good. My family felt similar about their bowls as well. We are fans of Middle Eastern food, but Orion was truly a three star experience. read more

The place is not too big they have inside and outside seating area. Their food is very delicious and tasty and fresh I ordered regular bowl and thought maybe they going to put a lil bit of stuff but no... I was so wrong they put some much food into that bowl and me and my husband shared the bowl and both were full by the end of eating. Very wild experience building it myself and I was not that happy once I tried it I felt like it was so mushy and the guy who made it just put too much taziki and hummus it was just horrible. I barely finished the fries and only picked the chicken out the gyro. I will not be returning here. The chicken for being spicy barely had flavor and was not spicy at all. Orion Fresh Mediterranean has been on my "Check It Out List" since last year. I love Mediterranean food and the reviews are very strong, so I was glad to finally be able to stop by with my kids. Orion is located in a nondescript shopping center near Federal and NE 20th. There's plenty of parking available, either in front of the restaurant or around the corner. We stopped in at around 2 and the place was about 50% full. We received a warm greeting upon arrival and immediately started going through the numerous options they had. I ultimately went with a falafel and grilled chicken bowl with spinach, cabbage, grilled zucchini and onions, pickled onions and hummus. My dish was good. The chicken was hot and juicy and very flavorful. The falafel was not that great. While it was just out of the fryer, it was not a traditional falafel. It was too dense and the flavor was off. Despite being piping hot and appetizing I opted to not eat it after 1 bite. The salads were all fine. The hummus was not well seasoned nor blended properly. That was a disappointment. Finally, the stewed chick peas were delicious. Great sauce and a nice accompanyment to the chicken. My kids got a variety of items including the braised lamb, meatballs, lentils and rice. I got to try a bit of everything. The braised lamb was good but lacked seasoning. The meatballs were very dense and didn't have amazing flavor. The lentils and rice were both pretty good. I want to mention how nice the staff and cashier was. It was our first time and there are lots of options, so we had a bunch of questions which they patiently answered without issue. They also were extraordinarily kind to my kids, and even game them complimentary cookies which they loved. Overall, I give Orion 3.5 stars rounded up to 4. While the food was a mixed bag and not amazing across the board, the overall experience was solid and I was satisfied with most of my meal. I would return to eat here again. read more
