Did you know the Crispy Poblano chicken salad is their most ordered item on the menu? It is my favorite too. The chicken has a great flavor and the crispness of the chicken is not too fried. I like the pickled onions and how it blends well with the dressing. The cotija cheese doesn't have a little of flavor but is ok. This time the bread had more flavor. I am not here to judge the food, the salads are usually good and I think the quality is as well. I patron the store a lot, but today the service had me baffled. I went in and realized they were on class pass and I had some extra points to use so I figured "why not use them here". I walked up, told the man I wanted to order on the app and if he could just omit the onions in the salad I planned to order when he made it. He literally refused - he argued he cannot modify. After trying to rationalize with him he continued to refuse the request, I'm still perplexed by his refusal to do the simplest of request to meet a customers dietary needs. I then asked if I could speak with a manager and he claimed HE was a manager, the other guy at the counter was a manager and the young lady was also a manager. I mean, since when are there only 3 employees in the entire store and all three are managers? So basically everyone is a "manager"? I ended up ordering a ceaser since he just refused to omit scooping onions for a customer because I was purchasing through an app. UNREAL type of customer service. Maybe, next time, say: "we tend not to do that if you order through the app but since you're HERE and just asking to not put something in the salad I can do it for you this time." The AC was banging, very refreshing and there was both outside and inside seating. The tables and chairs were all clean to my eye. As for food, they have salad and warm bowl options. I decided to go with a custom salad. You get a base of greens and four toppings, choice of dressing and bread. Proteins are extra. I got the mixed greens with pickled cabbage, shaved broccoli, edamame and roasted sweet potatoes. I also added on black lentils and sesame tofu for an extra cost. The salad was pretty good overall but I felt like the portion could have been a little bit heftier. I got about 6 small pieces of tofu and 6 small pieces of sweet potato, so when eating it the salad felt like it was all greens. For $15 there should be more in my opinion. Double chicken was maybe 10 small pieces of chicken. Adding roasted cauliflower for an additional fee gave about 7 pieces of cauliflower. A few individuals were not using gloves, one of which was removing sauce tops off and wiping it with a rag while touching her hand on the top of the spouts. I confronted her and asked her why are you touching and cleaning the sauce containers without gloves? All she had to say was I was just cleaning the one. False! I stood in line from the start of my initial order while watching her cleaning several and filling them up more before I even made it down to that area. That was my reply. She's turned around, said something to the other two women who also were not wearing gloves, one of which was putting together orders to go handling the container and tops without gloves, None of them stopped to put gloves and carried on what they were doing. When he asked what I was looking for I said "just a good salad with no carbs". he said they had a keto salad that wasn't on the menu. he sounded off what was in it and it was spot on. I would have added somethings but it had all the right stuff; some avocado, some chicken, some cheese, some nuts, and a few other things. he made it up and within minutes we were home and eating. It was perfect. Everything was fresh and crisp, the ranch he added was great and it was just over the perfect size, so I had some leftovers. I like some onions in my salad which they didn't have, so I added that, otherwise it couldnt have been better. I absolutely love a place that allows me to create my own salad, with fresh ingredients. I was SO missing a place like this close to me and when Just Salad opened I was beyond happy. I've also had one of their signature salads and avocado toast and loved them too. Again, the freshness of the ingredients is key, plus the friendly and quick service makes this place a 5 stars establishment. On top of that they have a couple of spicy ranch dressings that make my salad kick even more with flavor. They also have healthy wraps and bowls plus juices and smoothies. Ordering is easy either in person or online. They have inside and outside seating, although now with Covid restrictions they are practicing social distancing and seating is limited, which is perfectly fine with me. During this time I prefer ordering online... order is ready when I get there, in a separate shelf so I don't need to have any unnecessary contact with anyone (safe for them and me), and masks are required. We paid for avocado one time and they didnt even add it. I refuse to go back. Avocados are disgustingly brown when we did get it.
