I'll admit it--I came in with a little skepticism. My previous experiences hadn't been the best, so when a friend chose this restaurant for her birthday happy hour, she was pleasantly surprised that I still wanted to come. My attitude was simple: it's about celebrating my friend. I'm so glad I did because this visit completely changed my mind. The restaurant's new location (where Mellow Mushroom used to be) is beautiful, spacious, and has a relaxed atmosphere that's perfect for gathering with friends. Since we were sharing, we sampled a little of everything, and it was all delicious. Favorites included the falafel, Lebanese moussaka, crispy Brussels sprouts with Aleppo date glaze, baba ghanouj, classic hummus, Rocca beet salad, and the fresh, flavorful fattoush salad. Every dish was colorful, well-seasoned, and perfect for sharing around the table. The drinks kept flowing, and everyone was having a great time. To celebrate the birthday, we finished with an orange olive oil cake and a rich dark chocolate cake with sauce--both were wonderful endings to a fantastic meal. A special shout-out to our server, Ariana, who was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind to everyone at the table. She helped make the evening even more enjoyable. This visit completely changed my opinion of the restaurant. Great food, a beautiful new space, excellent service, and a fun atmosphere made for a memorable evening. What a beautiful transition! We needed that. Thank you for proving me wrong--I will definitely be back! read more

I have heard about Amar Mediterranean Kitchen & Bar for years before they moved to a much larger location. Very charming restaurant with indoor and outside seating. Very nice menu with more of a Lebanese offering. Ok wine list but only 3 red wines by the glass. We were seated next to a table of 12 girls there for a bachelorette party. Service was very good except when I ordered my main, I asked what options where available instead of rice and was told a few but not that there was an upcharge. Started with a very good Rocca Beet Salad, Arugula with red beet, feta, toasted sumac walnuts with a pomegranate vinaigrette dressing , a little light on the feta. For mains, my wife ordered the Chicken Shish Tauk, chicken breast skewers with pickles and toum garlic whip and served with rice. She really enjoyed it. I opted for Lamb Chops with a cilantro mint pesto. Six chops ordered pink but inconsistent, several medium well, a couple pink, and one almost rough. Chose Charred Mixed Vegetables instead of rice , they were great worth the $5. Great experience great vibe but I felt it was overpriced. read more

Another great meal at Amar Mediterranean. We go the classic hummus, baba ghanouj, moudardara, and arnabeet mekleh. It was all fantastic and the baba ghanouj was one of the best I've had. The pitas were amazing, they came to our table piping hot and billowing with hot steamy air. We also tried the tabouleh. For mains, the octopus on lentils was very good. The lamb chops were great with mint pesto and very puffy rice, tho they came out a bit over done (I ordered them medium and they were closer to medium well). The branzino was also good - a unique take on the dish with lentil sauce. read more

I love the happy hour here! 50% off lots of food and drink deals makes for great deals. The food quality is amazing too! We were super impressed by the salad we tried, the dips (all amazing), Brussels sprouts, etc. every dish we ordered was 10/10, freshly prepared and bursting with flavor! read more

Not only is this restaurant beautiful inside and out, the food is amazing. The outside decor is compelling- inviting you to go inside. We sat at a table that gave us plenty of time for privacy and conversation. Sharing with a friend, we were able to share many items so we could try many different things. Some of my favorite things: Kebbet Laa'tin (Pumpkin kebbe, chickpeas, pomegranate, Swiss chard, onion, bulgur): love all the mixture of textures in this Arnabeet Mekleh (Cauliflower, tahini, almond, golden raisins): the smoky, caramelized cauliflower had such a rich flavor- and the raisins offset this so nicely Kanafeh (Kataifi dough melted cheese tart, orange blossom, pistachio): this was not only a showstopper- watching the liquid being poured on the entire tart tableside- the crunch on the outside, with the soft inside, was delicious! Last but not least, the creamy hummus and the homemade pita was wonderful. Thank you to our server for helping us decide what to order- and making us feel so welcome. read more

Went to Amar a few times recently and I really want to like the restaurant but the food is just too uneven. We ordered quite a few items and the various dips were the standout and the excellent Pita Bread made it even better. The problem is with their mains and even with a limited menu and not many choices I've been striking out. This week I tried the Chicken and it was tough and dry and just not worth eating. For dessert the Olive Oil Cake was fine but the Baklava was cloyingly sweet. Service is excellent and the restaurant has a nice relaxing vibe. read more

5 Enthusiastic stars for a new favorite in Delray Beach where your server's recommendation is going to be the move! Marlon was our server and when I say that he elevated this experience, I am not exaggerating. He was SUCH a personality and put us in a great mood! Plus- he delivered excellent recs on food! Speaking of food- every single dish we got was remarkable. We're talking bold, rich flavors and surprising textures all around. I can't think of one dish that was "meh." They were all hits!! I also appreciate the way the menu is laid out with vegetarian dishes in their own section. (As a wife to a vegetarian- this is very much appreciated!) The interior is big and beautifully decorated. It's a perfect spot for a birthday or group dinner as well as a date night. Finally, I must recommend the Kanafeh dessert. It was absolute perfection! read more

This was my second time visiting Amar, and it did not disappoint. I brought friends to enjoy their Habibi Hour, which runs from 4-6 p.m. and offers 50% off select mezze, cocktails, and wine. It's such a great deal, and the menu has plenty of options--every one of them flavorful and delicious. We arrived a little after 5:00 and ordered at the bar. The cosmos and espresso martinis were fantastic, and the dehydrated fruit garnish is a really nice touch. I asked for a table so we could sit comfortably while enjoying our food, and we were seated quickly. Our server, Dimitri, was friendly, attentive, and checked on us consistently. We never waited long for the next round of appetizers, and everything came out hot and well-seasoned. We shared the fried kibbeh, classic hummus, falafel, rakakat, chankleesh, and Rocca Beet salad. Every dish was excellent, but the rakakat with the crispy phyllo dough was a standout for me. The hummus was also amazing. Another great experience at Amar--I can't wait to go back! read more

My husband took me here for our anniversary dinner, and this was our first time visiting Amar Mediterranean Kitchen. They've done a great job transforming the space--I barely recognized it from when it used to be Mellow Mushroom. The decor is elevated, elegant, and creates a lovely dining atmosphere. Atmosphere: 4/5 Our waitress was friendly, but almost too familiar, calling us "lovey" throughout the evening, which felt a bit over the top. Service: 3/5 We ordered the Amar Mix Grill, which is listed at $100 and meant to be shared between two people. While the overall flavor was good, the portion didn't feel suitable for two. The lamb chops in particular were disappointing--very little actual meat and mostly fat and gristle. For the price point, we expected better quality and a more satisfying dish. Food: 3/5 Overall, the restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere, but the food quality and value didn't quite meet our expectations for a special occasion. read more

Hummus was great very smooth and pita bread was warm didn't give a home made pita bread vibe tho but none the less very good. The bieroor drink was tasty and very well pairs with the mescal. Rakakat was like a fancy cheese stick it tasted great & of course the star of the show the lamb chops so good. Didn't even need the sauce it came with on the side cooked to perfection ! read more

The service is great they are attentive friendly and well informed on the testy and the menu which I loved cause I could ask them all about the menu and get and actual honest answer. The food was very good it checked all the boxes for what a great Mediterranean meal is ... the atmosphere is 10 out of 10. The service is 10 out of 10. The biggest drawback is the parking situation. if you valet the lot is very small. It's $10 behind the establishment. It should be free. It's is very difficult to find parking within the immediate area, especially on a rainy day. read more

Amar is literally the best Lebanese restaurant in South Florida. I have been there multiple times and and it is always good. The owner's daughter is usually there, and we love talking to her about the food, etc. This place feels like home. They recently moved into a new location down the street so they have more space now. Everything is fresh and the menu is often rotating depending on the season. Try everything here. read more

Warning: May cause immediate craving for mezze While vacationing in Boca had to go check out Amar and so thankful we did because it was incredible! Attended an event at Amar and was pleasantly surprised at the ambiance and service. The restaurant is warm and inviting. Amar is a restaurant unlike any on the ave. Its unique flavors and style of service make it stand out from others, and if you haven't given it a shot you need to! For starters, the business does an excellent job combining high class dining with affordable prices. They require elevated attire, which gives it a nice ambiance at night for dinner. It's dimly lit inside, paired with dark color schemes to set the mood. The waitress I had was extremely friendly. She told us all about the style of food and how it's served family style. At first I thought this could be weird since I was with a big group of people, but the servings are huge!!!! It was really nice ordering a bunch of apps and sharing !!! I also feel like it was a good ice breaker and a way to keep conversation flowing. The food was unreal. Hands down the best hummus I've ever had. I loved that they put so many different seasonings in it and gave the options for vegetarians and meat lovers alike. The hummus was so filling with the chicken that my husband and I returned and ordered it to share as a dinner. Their pita bread is also made FRESH. It comes out piping hot and still covered in flour. The wings were also melt in your mouth to die for and bursting with flavor. Hats off to Amar who opened a unique restaurant that is bringing a whole new dining culture to the ave! read more

Moved in 2024? Around the corner to much larger place vacated by "A1?" Bar. Similar menu but much larger and relaxed premises. Opens at 4-7 with really good happy hour. Half price drinks and most of the menu. We had five starters including great humus and harvarti but really everything great. As before intelligent and pleasant waitress who was knowledgeable on recommendations and quick. Son of owner was host and the place looks clean and generally upbeat. It used to be great and now even better particularly at happy hour. The suspicion is they reduce the portions on half price menu but we had plenty to eat and took home some for tomorrow. The waitress threw in 2 extra wonderful pits. read more

I really wanted to love this place. The decor is beautiful and the menu feels thoughtfully curated, but the experience didn't match the price point. Our waitress was somewhat friendly, but "somewhat" isn't enough when you're spending this kind of money. Service should feel polished and attentive, not just passable. Another restaurant with mandatory gratuity, which unfortunately seems to remove any incentive to provide actual service. The final straw was being handed takeout containers and told to pack up my own leftovers. For a $400 dinner, that's honestly absurd. It completely cheapens the entire experience. Beautiful space, decent concept, but the service falls far short of what they're charging. I wouldn't return. read more

My experience at Amar Mediterranean Kitchen was delightful! The restaurant atmosphere is warm and inviting. The service is excellent, the food is delicious, and they even had entertainment during our dinner. As this was our first visit to this restaurant, the group decided to order several items to share. We started with two dips: classic hummus (chickpea) and baba ghanouj (eggplant), accompanied by soft, warm naan bread. The menu features several varieties of hummus, some of which include proteins (beef, lamb or chicken). They all sounded tempting and worthy of trying on a future visit. We then had falafel, which was made with fried chickpeas and fava beans. While the falafel was tasty, it was a bit dry and benefitted from some of the sauces and dips that came with our other dishes. Next was an order of fatayer, which is spinach pie. These were light and flavorful. The pies were well-stuffed with the spinach. For our main meal, we split chicken taouk, which are grilled chicken kebabs with a side of Lebanese rice. And we had the mixed grill, which is a large dish meant for sharing. It included chicken, kafta (ground beef), steak, lamb chops, grilled veggies and a side of the rice. Every item in the mixed grill was excellent. The food was well-prepared and nicely seasoned. It came with a delightful mint pesto sauce, meant for the lamb chops, but also quite good on the other meats. This entrée was an excellent choice for us to enjoy the variety of Amar's offerings. A lovely dancer flowed through the restaurant throughout our meal. She twirled various items each time she passed by, including a large scarf, flaming torches and even a sword. She was entertaining and fun to watch. Overall, we had a terrific meal and plan to return to try several of the other menu items. read more

I came here for the first time on Valentine's Day and the ambiance, the food and the service were amazing. It was crowded and even though we had a reservation, we did have to wait for a table at the bar where I tried the beiroot cocktail. It was so refreshing and really good. The bartender made it with culver tequila because I'm not a fan on mezcal. We were seated outside and I liked how it was covered and decorated, so it still felt like the inside. We had the prefix menu, so to start we had the selection of cold and warm mezze: hummus, pita bread, fattoush salad, grape leaves, rakakat cheese rolls and octopus on lentils- it was so fresh and delicious. For the main we had the Amar mixed kebab platter and had kafta and shrimp- both were delicious and the shrimp were huge and cooked perfectly. I wish the kafta was hot because it was served slightly room temperature, but it was still good. After all of that food we ended with the assorted baklava, which was just 2 pieces of baklava. I'm not sure if there was supposed to be more than one type. I can't wait to try other menu items and will definitely be back read more

It is a family owned business and you can see that they really care. We had an absolutely amazing dining experience here! We tried the prix fixe $45 menu, and it was worth every penny. It started with a generous assortment of silky hummus and fresh, warm pita, followed by perfectly seasoned rice and our choice of protein--cooked to absolute perfection. (I had the Bronzino! ) Every bite was bursting with flavor and felt authentically Mediterranean. The portions were incredibly generous, and by the time the baklava arrived, we were already full--but it was so flaky, sweet, and nutty that we couldn't resist. You leave here happy, satisfied, and already planning your next visit. Highly recommend! read more

I was craving Mediterranean food for at least 5 years, in this part happens to be just around the corner. We order a couple of mezzes, Muhamara, Kibbe Naye, Rocca Beet, Grape leaves, Kibbeh. Everything so tasty and fresh. We tried Lebanese Wine (Chauteu Hertiage), i was scared it would be too strong but it was so good! Our main was Amar mixed grill, we were able to change chicken for more wagyu (for a price of course) but ughhhh the meats melted in my mouth!!! Dessert was on point, of course Baklava's A MUST and Kanaffe, which is cheese with a puffy pastry. Remind me of home. The ambiance of this place is great, and the decor is beautiful. Service was not very good. Server only came to take our food order, he never checked in when any of our 7 appetizers came out or on any of our entrees. Had to ask every time we wanted more water. For food I will say this is not my typical go to cuisine, however, I wasn't impressed by anything. I enjoyed the hummus and potatoes the most from the appetizers, while the halloumi cheese was my least favorite. This was the 2nd time I went to Amar Mediterranean, but this time I brought with me two other couples because I loved it so much the first time. Unfortunately, the problem this time was that we ate on a Friday night and not during the week. Between the traffic, and the noise at the restaurant. even at 5:30 PM. which is still during happy hour, it made it impossible to totally enjoy ourselves. I could not hear anyone talk at the table. The parking is extremely hard to find even though there is a parking lot right next-door. It's rare to find a free spot. Otherwise, it cost $10 for valet. The restaurant is impossible to find on your navigation. So when my friends got there, they were very, very stressed out. I went through the same thing two weeks ago when I went there for the first time. I almost turned around and went home except I found someone nice on the street who told me exactly how to get there not using my navigation. During happy hour, they have wines by the glass at half price and appetizers discounted. The hummus is delicious and they serve fabulous pita bread that is warm for the table gratis. The hummus comes with shredded lamb on top. Four of us had the Bronzino entrée. It comes with rice and it was excellent. Two others had the lamb chops which they enjoyed as well. None of us wanted a dessert. Coffee was $8 - overpriced. So if I decide to ever go back, it will definitely have to be an early dinner during the week. Maybe I'm getting old, but I really like peace and serenity during my dinner. read more
