Hummus was great very smooth and pita bread was warm didn't give a home made pita bread vibe tho but none the less very good. The bieroor drink was tasty and very well pairs with the mescal. Rakakat was like a fancy cheese stick it tasted great & of course the star of the show the lamb chops so good. Didn't even need the sauce it came with on the side cooked to perfection !

First off I will say the ambiance and the staff here are amazing. The service is great they are attentive friendly and well informed on the testy and the menu which I loved cause I could ask them all about the menu and get and actual honest answer. The food was fresh and delicious each meal that came was purely delicious I loved the hummus and the dessert was truly yummy with the rose water poured on top. They have indoor and outdoor seating this is a great spot for happy hour, ladies night or date night you can even come here for dinner or lunch with your family but the night time dinner vibes are truly a nice intimate vibe. I look forward to coming back soon!

This was my second time visiting Amar, and it did not disappoint. I brought friends to enjoy their Habibi Hour, which runs from 4-6 p.m. and offers 50% off select mezze, cocktails, and wine. It's such a great deal, and the menu has plenty of options--every one of them flavorful and delicious. We arrived a little after 5:00 and ordered at the bar. The cosmos and espresso martinis were fantastic, and the dehydrated fruit garnish is a really nice touch. I asked for a table so we could sit comfortably while enjoying our food, and we were seated quickly. Our server, Dimitri, was friendly, attentive, and checked on us consistently. We never waited long for the next round of appetizers, and everything came out hot and well-seasoned. We shared the fried kibbeh, classic hummus, falafel, rakakat, chankleesh, and Rocca Beet salad. Every dish was excellent, but the rakakat with the crispy phyllo dough was a standout for me. The hummus was also amazing. Another great experience at Amar--I can't wait to go back!

Warning: May cause immediate craving for mezze While vacationing in Boca had to go check out Amar and so thankful we did because it was incredible! Kafta Halabi, Baba Ghanouj, Kibbeh Naye, Fresh Homemade Pita paired along with mocktails of Mint To Be & Date Escape was just the most perfect dinner! The service was so sweet and helpful with the recommendations, even got to meet the owner who was so kind and definitely will be coming back to try more dishes:) even got a show with the belly dancer that came out after dinner it was truly an experience:)

My husband took me here for our anniversary dinner, and this was our first time visiting Amar Mediterranean Kitchen. They've done a great job transforming the space--I barely recognized it from when it used to be Mellow Mushroom. The decor is elevated, elegant, and creates a lovely dining atmosphere. Atmosphere: 4/5 Our waitress was friendly, but almost too familiar, calling us "lovey" throughout the evening, which felt a bit over the top. Service: 3/5 We ordered the Amar Mix Grill, which is listed at $100 and meant to be shared between two people. While the overall flavor was good, the portion didn't feel suitable for two. The lamb chops in particular were disappointing--very little actual meat and mostly fat and gristle. For the price point, we expected better quality and a more satisfying dish. Food: 3/5 Overall, the restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere, but the food quality and value didn't quite meet our expectations for a special occasion.

Gorgeous restaurant with great food and staff! We had Sara M serving a large group of us and had a great night! She made great recommendations and was helpful with coordinating a birthday dessert! We really enjoyed sharing the Amar Mixed Grill which had a bunch of meats all on one platter (pretty expensive though). Happy hour is 4-6, half price mezze small plates and $6-9 cocktails

Really really enjoyed. Went with large group and service was great. Did the prefix option and everything tasted delicious. Enjoyed various dips and meats. All food was soo great and delicious. Strongly recommend for north food, service, and atmosphere

We had a great dining experience at the bar. My favorites were the dolmas and the steak kebobs. The bartender was attentive and friendly.

Rice and sauces were the best part of this $100 dish.

I really wanted to love this place. The decor is beautiful and the menu feels thoughtfully curated, but the experience didn't match the price point. Our waitress was somewhat friendly, but "somewhat" isn't enough when you're spending this kind of money. Service should feel polished and attentive, not just passable. Another restaurant with mandatory gratuity, which unfortunately seems to remove any incentive to provide actual service. The final straw was being handed takeout containers and told to pack up my own leftovers. For a $400 dinner, that's honestly absurd. It completely cheapens the entire experience. Beautiful space, decent concept, but the service falls far short of what they're charging. I wouldn't return.

Attended an event at Amar and was pleasantly surprised at the ambiance and service. The restaurant is warm and inviting. The bar for the event was busy yet the bartender was extremely friendly and fast. I had a signature gin drink and they had many pass around hors d'oeuvres as samples from their menu. The general manager made a point to connect with everyone.

Where to begin? This place is top-notch from start to finish. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful and has such a great vibe. The food is next level! We started with a few of the mezzes and you really can't go wrong with any of them. Highly recommend the meat platter as it has a little bit of everything and every bite was incredible!

I came here for the first time on Valentine's Day and the ambiance, the food and the service were amazing. It was crowded and even though we had a reservation, we did have to wait for a table at the bar where I tried the beiroot cocktail. It was so refreshing and really good. The bartender made it with culver tequila because I'm not a fan on mezcal. We were seated outside and I liked how it was covered and decorated, so it still felt like the inside. We had the prefix menu, so to start we had the selection of cold and warm mezze: hummus, pita bread, fattoush salad, grape leaves, rakakat cheese rolls and octopus on lentils- it was so fresh and delicious. For the main we had the Amar mixed kebab platter and had kafta and shrimp- both were delicious and the shrimp were huge and cooked perfectly. I wish the kafta was hot because it was served slightly room temperature, but it was still good. After all of that food we ended with the assorted baklava, which was just 2 pieces of baklava. I'm not sure if there was supposed to be more than one type. I can't wait to try other menu items and will definitely be back

Moved in 2024? Around the corner to much larger place vacated by "A1?" Bar. Similar menu but much larger and relaxed premises. Opens at 4-7 with really good happy hour. Half price drinks and most of the menu. We had five starters including great humus and harvarti but really everything great. As before intelligent and pleasant waitress who was knowledgeable on recommendations and quick. Son of owner was host and the place looks clean and generally upbeat. It used to be great and now even better particularly at happy hour. The suspicion is they reduce the portions on half price menu but we had plenty to eat and took home some for tomorrow. The waitress threw in 2 extra wonderful pits.

Lira Beirut celebrates this through its food, decor and service. The whole vibe of the place seems extracted from a cool corner of Beirut with beautiful retro-cool artwork that is colorful, happy and sophisticated. From graphic prints, to black and white photos and architectural studies, it gives you a sense of a culture that takes the best of the middle east and cosmopolitan worlds. That sets the stage for the food served here. This is not a watered-down shawarma spot to pacify over-served revelers. It's a place to meet real foodie friends who appreciate authenticity and carefully prepared dishes in an elevated way. I haven't had a chance to go to the Middle East, but I can tell from the deft use of spices, heat and technique that their intention is to share the best from their food memory of the old country. I've gone on a few occasion and really enjoyed the fattoush salad, the labneh mtwame, the muhammara, the chicken shawarma plate and the kafta. Many of the dishes come with the crispiest, most addictive fries I've had, gorgeous savory rice and a heap of fresh, fragrant herbs. Even the wine list is pretty nice, and I've had the well priced Sauvignon Blanc and the Pouilly Fuisse. I wished the location were better for us and for them. It could use a more visible location where nice traffic goes by it. Since it's at the edge of Wynwood where it borders with the slowly gentrifying Overtown, it could take a while before its riches are recognized. I can't wait to go back for happy hour again, and I long to see the day when this becomes an awesome neighborhood hangout as they build more apartment buildings in the area that can house people who will appreciate all that Lira Beirut offers.
