We were two couples here reuniting for a wonderful lunch. We sat outside on the terrace because it was warmer than inside, but it was beautiful inside. Angelo was our waiter and he offered drinks and appetizers to start. Paul and Eli each had a bowl of soup. It was thick and creamy but needed to be heated a bit more. I had the marrakesh lamb 24 rainbow cherry tomatoes, piquillo peppers, cucumber ribbons, kalamata olives, candied almonds, preserved apricots, mint, tahini drizzle over hummus. Wow! Delish! Paul and Eli had the chargrilled skirt steak 24 rainbow cherry tomatoes, piquillo peppers, cucumber over hummus. Debra had the pear salad 14 mesclun, arugula, candied walnuts, dates, shallot balsamic vinaigrette, aged gorgonzola ribbons, kalamata olives, and cilantro gremolata with grilled tahini chicken We ended with cappuccino and a luscious couple of chocolate tartufos. Went to Medi Terra for first time... been meaning to try it for sometime. We decided to try it for lunch and we were very happy we did! The pear and Gorgonzola salad was delightfully delicious We also had the escalivada. This was amazing marriage of flavors. Roasted red peppers, eggplant and goat cheese, stacked up like a small circle with the layers of each with the cheese being on the top. What a great place. We booked a reservation in advance to sit on the patio. When we arrived, the parking lot was a bit jammed. It took us circling a few times to find a spot. Take that into consideration when coming to this area in a Friday or Saturday night, especially during season. We were greeted and seated promptly by a man I assume was the manager. It was cozy on the patio. They have done a great job of making you feel like you're not in a busy plaza. There were several fire heaters, beautiful lighting and comfortable seating. At one point, the manager was walking around with blankets because it was chilly! Nice touch. We were promptly greeted by Erik. He was a fantastic waiter!! He went over specials and made recommendations. He had our food out in the perfect order and kept checking in on us. Multiple servers helped as the dishes came out one at a time, they make everything from scratch and this is how tapas arrives. We started with the pear salad. Outstanding! Gorgonzola cheese, candied nuts, drizzle of honey and perfectly dressed lettuce. Then we had the za'atar hummus with pita. Pita had a unique flavor and the hummus was creamy and perfectly seasoned. Next was the garlic shrimp. WOW! The addition of the clam juice really kicks up the seafood flavor. The grilled, warm toast is a nice detail that really makes this dish soar. Lastly, we got the mussels provincial. It was a special that evening and it was dynamite! Little pieces of celery, fennel, parsley, and onion mixed in with a white wine broth, steamed mussels and more delicious grilled toast, chefs kiss! We got two desserts and they were both the perfect ending to a perfect experience. While they don't make the two we tried in house, they are imported from Italy or from another country, according to Erik. The pistachio ricotta cake was light and fluffy. I ate the whole piece of cake! And the tiramisu wasn't bitter, it had that perfect balance of liquor and coco. We also got espresso and a cappuccino. Both were full of rich flavor and high quality. We returned to Medi Terra to enjoy their lunch, which has only been offered for the last several months. It was a quiet Wednesday and we were greeted by AUSTIN, one of the superb servers who had waited on us several times before. We decided to eat outside as it was a beautiful day, no humidity. The outdoor area is comfortable and inviting bc with ceiling fans and lovely live orchids on the walls. Who doesn't love orchids? We had the pear salad, which was gigantic. Easily shared by two. And the pear was ripe and firm. The dressing had a bit of tanginess. We then shared the garlic shrimp which came out steaming hot, with huge chunks of tasty garlic simmering in a delicious sauce. And a bunch of nice sized shrimp. It was a dish we had before and will have again. No doubt about that. We also shared chicken croquettes, which were better than we recalled. Creamy inside, nicely baked exterior. We shared one of their oversized bowls the tahini Chicken. It was simply divine. As we sat and enjoyed the background music and reviewed all of the food we consumed, I commented "we can come here a few times a week and enjoy this food and service in a special environment." And we plan to make it to lunch at least once a week and share this with friends. A special and unique menu offering. However, a few caveats. Self parking is a crap shoot. Despite a huge parking area empty spots are few and far between. There is near by (but not easy to find) valet parking. Also, even though the tables are nicely spaced the noise level is loud when the restaurant is full. We came here for a late lunch and had a fantastic experience. We were warmly greeted by Angelo -- who is the jack of all trades in the "front" of the house. He waited on us and made suggestions for our menu choices. We also got a chance to chat about his background (Naples Italy and Long Island) and later we met the chef/owner. We were the only ones dining in at the time we came. It was like having a private chef and server all for us. We started by sharing a small order of hummus and pita. The pita was served warm and sprinkled with zaatar seasoning. The hummus was homemade. It was a good palate preparer and perfect starter as my husband was quite hungry. After our appetizer, we both had different salads. My husband had their salade nicoise. A fresh piece of lightly grilled, seared on the outside tuna, topped a salad with small black olives, green beans, hard boiled eggs, and three colored bell peppers, over mixed greens. I wanted their chicken fatoush salad, but Angelo told me the chicken wasn't ready. He suggested that I try it with shrimp which turned out to be wonderful. There weren't any crispy pita chips as in most fatoush salads, but I didn't miss them. The salad was a base of romaine lettuce with tomatoes and cucumbers. I left out the onions but did miss the radishes per the menu. The salad was topped with freshly grilled, warm shrimp. Both salads had a pomegranate molasses dressing on them -- slightly sweet but light. We also added some sumac to both our salads. We were both fairly full, but they had one of my favorite desserts -- Torta della nonna -- so I couldn't resist. I had a few bites -- delicious lemony "pie" with pine nuts -- and took the rest home for later. My husband had a cappuccino for his dessert. They have a wider menu for dinner than for lunch. Dishes That Taste As Good As They Look Winter in Florida. They have the heat lamps on super comfy couch and very cozy outside. The dishes come when they are ready so don't be in a hurry if you come here. I wish our waiter would have checked in on us but he didn't. We had to track him down a few times. The Kofta was a work of art and 5* in taste. The pita was crisp and freshly baked and the Kofta was full of flavor. They forgot to make it without the sauce on it so they gave us a whole new one. Our server was wonderful and very attentive. We shared the hummus and crudite, which was fesh and delicious. We also had the garlic shrimp and the eggplant goat cheese. Good portions and so good. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and served with toasted bread. The eggplant was tender and paired so well with the crispy goat cheese They brought my friend dessert with a candle. Our server, Angelo, is probably the best server ever. We chatted about football, he was great at making the food sound delicious, and he's simply a legend. The service was very quick to respond when i dropped my knife. The ambiance is very elegant. One of the specials, Salmon Rillettes, was out of this world. It was liked a cooked salmon tartare. The Piquillo Peppers I think were a little too strong for me. But not bad. The grilled octopus is tender, charred, simply great. But the grilled octopus was served alongside hummus and arugula and I just think they don't go together very well. The Pisto (Soup Of The Day May 10 2025) was excellent. The Potato-Wrapped Orata (Fish Of The Day May 10 2025) was crispy on the ends, soft in the middle, and spectacularly flavorful. But the Branzino (Fish Of The Day May 10 2025) had very crispy skin, excellent flavor, and was accompanied perfectly by the risotto and mushroom. We ordered a custom pasta with only butter and cheese because we were dining with a very picky person. Let me tell you that pasta was perfectly Al dente, but had no cheese whatsoever. The Garlic Shrimp came super quickly and tasted like a bitter garlicky chorizo (in a good way). The Tiramisu was not as good as others. But the star of the show was the Ricotta Pistachio Cake. It was sweet, pistachio-ey, just waaaayyyyy too good. I need a wedding cake sized version of that cake right now. That's how good it is. read more

My friend took me here for my birthday. It is located in Royal Palm Plaza - parking can sometimes be a bear but on this night it was just fine! First of all, I have told all of my friends and my communities that they fly an Israeli flag on top of the restaurant ! And I was thrilled! So proud to have supporters around me! And everything with the restaurant was just perfect! My friend had the soup (loved it). We shared hummus with veggies and pita (celery and carrots), grilled shrimp (lemon, smoked paprika and white wine) and ahi tuna tartare (cornichons, cucumber). They brought me a dessert for my birthday and sang it to me as well! They even had the other patrons singing with my friend! It was a lot of fun! We sat outside and took our time and enjoyed! Fabulous restaurant. From the minute we walked in, Daniel the owner was gracious and welcoming. We sat inside but the outside setting was also beautiful. Our waiter was Austin who gave us excellent suggestions. I had the branzino with black ink risotto. The risotto was among the best I have ever had. My friend had the duck...perfectly cooked..crispy and no fat. We started with a hummus appetizer and I told Austin that I love hummus but few places get it right. Having lived in Israel, I am somewhat of a hummus expert. With that the chef came out and I told him how I loved the hummus in Jerusalem. He sent over a second plate of hummus with tahini in the center and for a few moments I was back in Israel. Fantastic! Medi Terra lives up to its excellent reviews and I will be returning often. read more

This used to be an Italian restaurant. Last fall, a father-son team turned it into a regionally renowned Mediterranean eatery (France, Spain, Portugal, Morocco) which quickly received awards and acclaim. Turns out all that hype was deserved. The servings aren't big, but they are rich, tasty and filling. We've all had fresh pita, but these were dressed in a tasty oil and seasonings and were outstanding. Same can be said for the Chicken Fattoush. We've all had chicken but the combination of spices and delicate texture made this dish extraordinary. Salad Nicoise was also exceptional, although it could have used more of that juicy, seared tuna. Angelo, the maitre d, has quite the personality and visited our table often and joked around. He is from Naples, Italy. We were there for the prix fixe $25 summer special which included Gazpacho soup (needed more veggies and a crunchier texture though still excellent) and a drink, such as wine or Prosecco or dessert. Try the lemon tart. Word to the wise: proteins such as steak, fish and chicken add $5 to the entree price. Worth it. Ditto for the hummus and pita platter. I've seen reports this appetizer costs $16 but maybe due to the summer special, we paid $5. Last word of advice: parking at the Royal Palm Plaza in east Boca has always been bad and is getting worse. Lunch starts at noon. Park by 11:45 a. m. or earlier to get a space. read more

PSA IVE FOUND A GEM!!! Name: Medi Terra Location: East Boca (Mizner Area) Ok guys. This is it! The diamond in the rough of Boca. With high expectations at stake in such an area this higher elevated family run western Mediterranean restaurant is AMAZING! FIRST IMPRESSION: This is a family run small business but they are doing it right and deserve to be known. At first glance the place is clean and modern with white table cloth and small lights adorning the tables and it looks wonderful. They have outdoor seating as well and the patio is very welcoming. SERVICE: We had Austin and Angelo who shined, not only are they knowledgeable but took time to know our special needs and even got to know us. Read the table well and chatted when they had the chance. The head chef (co-owner) Micheal came by and spoke with outstanding knowledge about his food. It was so refreshing and admirable to see a chef with such passion still through his many years of cooking. You may also catch Danny (co-owner) greeting guests and I had the opportunity to speak with him for a bit as well and he was exceptionally welcoming and made every encounter we had pleasant. MENU AND FOOD: Where this place really shines is the food!! The food is INCREDIBLE. This is a place you go to experience the flavor of Mediterranean Europe. Each dish we tried was packed with flavor and care, you could tell these dishes were made with love. They have a pretty nice wine selection and a handful of craft cocktails with a full bar. Also I got to peak at the lunch menu and the lunch and dinner menu very greatly. I can't wait to come back and try lunch, which is filled with lighter fare and some staples from the dinner menu. What I really liked as I glanced over the lunch menu is how different and refreshing it was from most lunch menus. It's not like other lunch menus that all have the same old tired salmon Ceasar and dried out chicken sandwich. DRINKS: We chose the fig old fashions to start which had a fig purée in it that was delicious. And we did a bottle of Albrinio ($96) for dinner which was pleasantly fantastic. APPS: Ok so for apps we chose from the tapas section and got the scallops (not pictured due to love at first sight), haloumi cheese, and the croquetas. The scallop and risotto tapa was delicious. Two large scallops per order. ($24) The presentation was very elegant and the taste was even better. We didn't leave a single piece of risotto rice left! The Haloumi Cheese ($16) was also very tasty. If you don't know about haloumi... it's is like a grilled cheese that is firm and salty. The chef does a balsamic drizzle and fresh pomegranate seeds. The burst of acidity from the pomegranate seeds is what made this dish shine! The croquetas ($18) were also a hit!! My partner had them all since I am gluten free but he raved about them. I did try the aioli that came with them and was wanting more. DINNER: WOW WOW WOW. I chose the duck and my partner chose the chicken tajine. I can not express in words how amazing these dishes were but I'll try. The duck ($48) was hands down the best duck I've had inside the United States and possibly even in the places I've been to in Europe. I ate a lot of duck in Europe and this duck pretty much hands down blows everything out of the water. It was so crispy on the outside and so tender and juicy on the inside. It is sided with the most flavorful a l'orange sauce and it's just an outstanding compliment to the duck. The mini fingerling potato's and the small arugula salad made for great sides. The chicken tajine ($36) is so aromatic it makes your mouth water and I was eyeing my partners plate for a bite immediately. The presentation is wonderful but it's the smell that really truly draws you in. Morrocan spices add so much depth. A side of couscous is also presented to be eaten along side this amazing dish. The flavor of this chicken is incredible and I can't wait to order it again. We also ordered a side of spinach (I asked for extra garlic) and it was prepared to my liking. It wasn't over cooked and it was presented very nicely. OVERALL: This is a great date night spot or an elevated spot to meet some close friends. We arrived at 5.15pm, no reservation, as a walk in.. And they said they couldn't seat us, they didn't have room. Mind you the whole place was empty, the outside was empty as well. (Maybe 10 people inside at most) Usually when we arrive places at 5pm with no reservations, it's no problem. We explained we are quick eaters, and no drama, out of your hair in 30 min... literally! But no, DENIED. I've never been denied, in my 35 years of living. This was absolutely insane. We asked to just do takeout instead, to fill our bellies. Again, he said NO we can't do that. So after all that.. we will never be back. And what a shame, they didn't want our business. We are foodies & spenders. A shame. Delicious appetizers with a real Portuguese/Spanish flair. Clams with chorizo and beautiful yellow, orange red tomatoes were delicious. The Gambas Al ajillo were delicate. Not too much garlic and not oily. The broth was so good. I was disappointed that there was no bread to sop it up. They have a side of pita on the menu, but that is not what either of these two dishes needed. The duck a'la orange was crisp and portions generous -- the sauce did not smother it. Served with some nice roasted potatoes. The branzino had crispy skin and was served with a creamy risotto flavored with squid ink and some asparagus. The corvina was a generous piece of fish that melted in my mouth. It is a White Sea bass and while not as oily as Chilean sea bass it is similar, just lighter in flavor and texture. The fish was cooked perfectly and served over butter beans flavored with garlic and ginger. Nothing is over the top in garlic or spices here. The chef has a delicate hand and builds layers of flavor. Sublime, fresh and healthy sums it up. It really was a very pleasant dinner. Chef Michael is very gracious, funny and a pleasure to talk with. This is a new little gem in Royal Palm Plaza. read more

I went with the special, lamb tagine, and I'm glad that I did. The lamb was seasoned well and cooked to perfection. The cous cous was a bit dry but that was remedied when it was added to the tagine.
