There are not enough Turkish places around and so glad to see Marash! I stopped in to pick up some food to bring home, and I must now say, I have to go back and dine in! I didn't think I would enjoy the food as much as I did. Marash seems to be quite understated, simple, no frills, but it definitely delivers well in both flavor and friendliness. I love that they're in the same plaza as my neighborhood Trader Joe's tons of parking! And I was able to go in and out quickly before ordering ahead. The location is quite small, but enough tables to dine in from what I saw since it didn't seem to be too busy when I stopped in. I got some tea and the lamb kebab to go, and loved that they prepared it quickly and fresh right in front of me. I was super happy when I got home and it was just as delicious as what I was smelling in the car I was salivating! If I could do higher than 5 stars I so would! This is their second location to their family owed restaurant and everything is outstanding! Their fresh hummus and sauces are packed with flavor. Like the old pop song, "Simply Irresistible", best describes Marash in Boynton. We eat out at a lot of middle eastern spots (across the US), but this place just became our #1. Don't be misled by the simply ambience of this strip center location. They offer many of our fav dishes but with a Turkish twist. While we only tried a few things, this being the initial visit, everything was over the top delicious. I went for the gyros wrapped with lavash in a tasty tomato based sauce-kind of a Turkish lasagna (beytuni). I also appreciated the spicy serrano pepper added on the side. My wife had the Chicken Shish Platter-the most tender kabob grilled chicken I've ever eaten, wonderfully flavored, and hot, right off the grill. We also shared a super creamy hummus spiced perfectly. Dessert was a pistachio kadayif. The finely crushed nuts on top were complemented by a not overly sweet delicate pastry. We found out our server, Mehmet is actually the manager too. Mehmet and all 3 front employees were very friendly and helpful, and Mehmet was continually on top of our service, despite a much dinener traffic in the restaurant while we were there. We stopped here for lunch. They've been open about 3 months per the manager. We didn't realize that they're related to the Marash restaurant in Hallandale -- where we had been more than four years ago -- until one of our fellow diners mentioned it. There's lots of free parking in the lot outside the restaurant. It's a busy shopping center. The Turkish food here was very good. We shared their mixed appetizer with hummus, babaghanush, tzatziki, and grape leaves. And wedges of thin pita bread. We requested some sumac (lemony salty red spice) and put it on everything. The hummus was creamy and the babba eggplant was chunky and smokey. Since there were only two rice stuffed grape leaves, they disappeared fast. I left the tzatziki for my husband. After a bit of mixing and matching, we added a side order of gyro meat. That made all the combos even better. We also enjoyed a couple of glasses, each, of Turkish tea. And for dessert, we tried their Turkish ice cream dusted with pistachio bits. The ice cream is made from goat milk and very creamy. My husband got to speak a few words of his Turkish (from many years ago in Ankara) and we got to have an enjoyable Middle Eastern lunch. The Delray branch of Marash is a streamlined offshoot of the original Hallandale location, offering a tighter menu that puts the spotlight on Doner Kebab, Lamb Chops, and Chicken. While the breadth of options is scaled back, the kitchen clearly knows what it does well--and sticks to it. We started with the mixed appetizer platter featuring Babaghanoush, Hummus, and Tzatziki. Of the three, the Babaghanoush stood out with a pleasantly smoky depth; the others were serviceable, but forgettable. The hummus in particular was bland and lacking tahini--something the owner acknowledged, noting that Turkish recipes traditionally use far less than their Arab counterparts. A spicy red pepper dip is available on the side, though, and it's a great addition--either to liven up the hummus or as a bold complement to the kebab. The falafel is a premade product--not house-made--and frankly, not worth repeating. The real draw here is the Doner Kebab (listed simply as "beef" on the menu), which is a house-made blend of halal beef and lamb. You can get it as a traditional platter with rice and salad, as Iskender (topped with tomato sauce and yogurt), or in the Beytuni style--wrapped in lavash with a drizzle of both sauces. I lean toward the Iskender version for its bolder tomato flavor, but regardless of presentation, the Doner is excellent: tender, well-seasoned, and deeply satisfying. If you're in Delray or Boynton and craving Turkish fare, this spot is a (slightly) closer alternative to CITIR in East Boca--and a very good one at that. read more

Very good food and service. We started with an order of baba and ordered twochicken gyro wraps and a falafel wrap for dinner for the three of us. We sat outside which was nice. All the food was outstanding, maybe the best gyro I've had outside of Athens. My wife said it was the best baba she's ever had. The only problem was the price, $16.95 for the wraps seems a bit much since it didn't even come with a side. Should be like $12.95 or maybe $14.95 with a side of baba or hummus or whatever. I loved the food but my wife said due to the price, she would not go back. Too bad! read more

We did their signature dish, Belnohyki (sp) which was amazing. But the chicken gyro wrap was spectacular and the house salad...the best. Seriously, the salad was full of fresh ingredients and red pepper (delicately prepared), pickled red onion with a simple dressing of red wine vinegar and olive oil.
