I, being a new transplant to the Delray Beach area & not knowing anyone here yet with whom I could celebrate, So I decided to treat myself to a meal out & was really in the mood for a falafel. I kept reading all these great reviews on yelp & Google about Pita Lee I am disabled so I took an Uber there & was let off in front of the place with my walker. To my surprise, as I approached the store, I noticed the place was very dark. I tried the doors, but they were locked. I peaked into the dark tinted windows & from what I saw it seemed to me like a place that has closed down permanently. Wow, there were no signs, nothing to state they are out of business or just temporarily closed. My Uber driver already left so I had to call for another one. It was disappointing that II spent all this money on a place that closed its doors & sad I had no way to get anywhere else but back home, since I wasn't going to spend more money on uber to go somewhere else to eat. I'm a huge fan of Lafa Shawarma, and this is the first place, stateside, that I found it! Sadly, the Lafa was fridge cold when they put everything into it, but I was able to overlook that detail. I asked with everything inside, and with the hot sauce on the side, and that was a winning combination. We walked in, bought the food at the kiosk, and paid there, then sat until our number was called. The inside is like a typical fast food spot, and the service was typical Israeli. While it wasn't fine dining, it really hit the spot, and we would certainly come back, when in the area. read more

We stopped by for lunch today. As they're kosher and observant, they close early on Fridays. But we got there early enough to have a leisurely meal. It's a casual restaurant. You order at the counter. And pick up your food here too. After eating, you pay at the cashier. I'd thought we'd get a hummus appetizer and in addition, one of the plates to share, but the nice gentleman behind the counter explained that we'd be able to get hummus with our salad choices along with our meat platter. So, we chose their kafta kebab for our main dish. The main plates come with two fluffy pita breads. The kafta kebab is ground beef with seasoning. We got the meat cooked medium. It was juicy and flavorful with an added touch of salt for me and a touch of hot sauce for him. We had our choice of a lot of different "salads". We chose hummus, Babba ghanoush, Israeli salad, and beets. We also got some pickles and pickled carrots and cabbage on the side. It was good to mix and match the various salads and bites of meat and pita bread. Each bite was a different combo of tastes. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and look forward to returning. read more

Ohhh yea! One of my favorite sandwiches is a shawarma pita and Pita Lee delivered! This was my first time here after talking about going here for months...I hate that I didn't go sooner! My go to pita order is shawarma with hummus, tahini, israeli salad & red cabbage. It was everything I wanted it to be & more...so much so I forgot to take a picture! I've been coming here once a week for the past few months, and it never disappoints. The food is made fresh right in front of you and tastes incredibly authentic. Even my 2-year-old is obsessed she'll sit for an hour just eating everything... the pita, the chicken, the fries, all of it. The service is always great too. Pita Lee has been open for approximately six months at the time of this review. We had the shawarma and it is one of the best I have ever eaten. It was loaded with turkey freshly shaven from the doner, complete with all of the usual fillings of your choice. Delicious! Service was very fast, friendly, and accommodating. The owner was kind and happy to help. There are tables inside and out and everything was clean. It's a Kosher shop. I have searched all over Palm Beach county for legit shawarma and this is it. I happen to stumble on Pita Lee today. When I walked in, I was given a small bowl of marinated carrots that were amazing. The pita was fresh. The bread tasted homemade, and the falafel was out of this world. Probably the best I've ever had. Service was friendly and the portion was huge in my falafel pita. So I called to order food to have it delivered, and I spoke with Avi and he had such a great personality that I actually had to come in and see for myself. I was gonna take it to go and you said no you're gonna eat it here so I can see a smile on my face. I did and there was a huge smile. The food was fantastic. He is such a Mench. I highly recommend this place and found it totally by accident and so glad that I did. I would've never thought to have a Turkish of lucky, but the flavor was fantastic. As a proud Jew, Israel is one of my favorite places in the world and although it has been eight years since I have been there, Pita Lee in Delray Beach always makes me feel transported to Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, or other places in "The Promised Land" thanks to their delicious and authentic food and warm hospitality! For these reasons, I have been going to Pita Lee for a little under a year now and have become a regular customer. Located in a nice looking small strip mall adjacent to some medical offices as well as a Subway on Jog Road just south of Atlantic Avenue, Pita Lee occupies a small space within the plaza. There are some tables outside but for the most part, the seating is located inside this establishment. Once inside, the establishment is small, but immaculate and comfortable! Walking in, the majority of tables are on the left side of the restaurant while looking to the right would be the counter and food preparation areas. I have tried various items and they all are wonderful! My usual default is Pita Lee's Shawarma, available with in a pita, with a baguette, or as a plate and comprised of spit roasted turkey that is moist and tender, smokey, peppery, and a little crispy on certain pieces. If that is not enough, I also love their salads, which include a tomato and cucumber salad that had sweet and savory tomatoes along with crisp and refreshing cucumber, sweet and briny red cabbage, crisp white cabbage, and savory eggplant salad. These salads come with all of their entrees, not just the shawarma and the meals would not be the same without them! Additionally, it would not be a meal without Pita Lee's hummus, as it was smooth with a slight garlic note. If I don't get Shawarma, I love Pita Lee's Pargiot (Dark Meat Chicken) or Chicken Kebab (White Meat Chicken) are also outstanding, thanks to being moist and juicy and being flavored with piquant spices. Additionally, I also enjoy the falafel balls which are piquant, crisp on the outside, and fluffy on the inside. Additionally, the excellent quality and generous portion sizes mean that prices are very reasonable for what you get. Finally, my review would not be complete without giving shout-outs to the staff, who are warm, welcoming, and just plain hospitable! Shout-outs to owner Avi, Boaz, Elad, and anyone here whose name escapes me. For a taste of "The Promised Land" without having to travel there, Pita Lee definitely earns my highest recommendation! My daughter-in-law has celiac and requires gluten free food. I called twice to ensure they had gluten free options and was told yes, speaking with the owner. When we came there, a 49 minute drive, we learned that everything was fried in the same oil. This is definitely not gluten free and can cause someone with celiac to get very ill. This is cross contamination. For the owner to say he is aware of gluten free needs and say all but the pita if 100% gluten free shows either arrogance or ignorance, or both. Needless to say, we didn't eat here. If you have a medical condition be very careful. read more
